Problem Install After Effects CC on OS X Mavericks 10.9

I get an error try to update after effect CC manually on OS X Mavericks . According to this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/kb/effects-launch-mac-os-109.html I have to download and instal an update manually. But when I try to install the patch, this error occurs: Error Code: U44M2P15. Any help?

There are dozens of threads that people have already created about Mavericks issues. They all have the same info repeated in them. Here's a page of info and, if it doesn't help, read it more carefully. If that still doesn't help, check out some of the other threads about it and try what's suggested there.

Multiple problems installing After Effects 12.2.1.5 trail on os x 10.9.3

iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 - 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
I downloaded the CC app and then downloaded After Effects 12.2
Installed the 12.2.1.5 update.
I feel that all my issues are interrelated so I'm posting them together.
Here are the problems:
After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/...../Library/Preferences/Adobe/AfterEffects/12.2/Workspaces......xml' to Workspaces.xml'. My workaround: i changed the 12.0, 12.1, and 12.2 folder permissions to Read & Write for system,wheel,everyone + all enclosed folders.
Start up time takes 4 minutes because it hangs on Initializing MediaCore.
'Quicktime component not installed on this system...' error message. Strange because QT works for AE CS5
Quicktime not available in Render Queue
Render Queue: Missing lossless, alpha only, lossless with alpha, quicktime, and ram preview formats
Ram preview only works for a few frames then stops.
Preferences : After Effects Multiprocessing: Number of actual cpu's used is stuck at 0. Can’t be changed.
Preferences don't save after restart
Instead of hunting down solutions for each problem I feel there is one solution to them all.
My hunch is there is a permissions problem that stops After Effects from installing and working properly.

And there have been a number of threads about it. You may have a couple of different issues occurring and I've seen some good threads on both.
Permissions issues are mentioned a lot with OS upgrades. Do a forum search and I'm sure you'll find some answers.

Unistall any ACR Betas on your system you may have used. Also simply run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and reinstall everything Adobe.

I got the same Probs on C++ 2008 but i have reinstall it so i got no problems there but on C++ 2010 i cant reinstall it when i try it he say me that i dont have more C++ 2010 on my Computer and i must install a new version so i install it but when i install a new version he say me "error during installation" :on your computer, there is a new version...

when i open my System Panel > programs and functions THERE is no Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 NOTHING from this i just have 2005 2007 and 2008 and there works !
But i dont have any Visual 2010 Version on my Computer i cant install it or reinstall it i cant do nothing with the Version 2010 so i have the problem too install After Effects :/

Adobe Desktop Application no longer loads after failing to install After Effects CC

Hi,
I just tried to install After Effects from the Desktop Application and it failed. Not only that, the application crashed and won't load anymore. I tried a reboot and it didn't do anything. I can see the process "Creative Cloud" in Activity Monitor, but nothing in the Apple Toolbar where it normally resides.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You may need to uninstall and reinstall... running the cleaner after the uninstall

Trouble installing After Effects cs6 on my new Yosemite system.

I then attempted to install all the software from my old computer. Installed Entire cs6 suite, after effects is greyed out.
When i tried to open, i received an error " You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X. You have “Adobe After Effects CS6” 11.0. "
I then read online that there was fix by updating to After Effects to 11.4. Due to the fact that i cant open program to update from within i downloaded update and tried to install via the installer. I acts like it it will start even giving a timeline of how long it will take then closes and says update failed.
It then says you can look at error log, when i do it says " Adobe After Effects CS6 (11.0.4) update Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M2P28 ".
Anyone knows how i can fix this issue and get after effects working? Thanks in advance

There have been a few people having problems getting updates and a few different solutions. It all depends on what's messed up on your machine.
It could be as simple as fixing permissions: fixing permissions problem that impedes start of Adobe applications
Somewhat advanced, but it worked for somebody: Unable to upgrade to 11.0.1 for AE CS6
You may have to defeat a daemon... Newly installed After Effects CS6 won't launch.
One solution for a different OS and AE version, but might solve it: Mavericks and AE 12.0/12.1/12.2

Just installed After Effects CC - now my Photoshop CC crashes on open

I just installed After Effects CC.
When I open Photoshop CC (has been installed for months working fine). It opens, but if I click anything on the interface, I get the spinning beach ball and it freezes.
I uninstalled After Effects CC using the Adobe Uninstaller in Utilities in Applications.
After uninstalling After Effects, Photoshop worked fine.
I re-installed After Effects, made sure it completed installation and ran all necessary updates.
Opened Photoshop - same problem - freezes on launch.
Please help! I need to complete this work today!

I have found a fix:
Go to this folder: User > Library > Preferences
Right click on the 'Adobe' folder and click 'Get info'
Click the lock in the bottom right to unlock this pane and enter your password
Under 'Sharing & Permissions', Give all users the "Read & Write" permission
Click on the cog at the bottom of this pane
Click Apply to enclosed items
Enter your password and voila! - Photoshop works as it should.
I hope this works for everyone else, too.

Can't install After Effects as full version

Hi, I can't install After Effects as full version although veing customer of the complete CC. With all the other programs it works fine (I installed them via desktop application) but after effects is still shown as test version. And this free trial is over now. Instead of giving me the intsall or udpate button ot shows the buy-button. Has anyone had the same problem or knows what to do? Many thanks

If you did all the process correct, and your plan is paid I only see one way to solve this issue.
Follow this steps and for sure your problem will be solved.
Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Mac OSLog in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
After editing this Hosts file, open Adobe creative cloud and log in once again. Is important that you start once again the session so Adobe creative cloud recognizes that Hosts file was edited.
You can do this by clicking in:
Preferences»Log out.

Unable to install after effects cs5, photoshop 64x and premiere pro

Hello, i am unable to install after effects premiere pro and photoshop 64x from the cs5 suite, i think these are all 64bit programs right? I am running windows 7 64bit so i have no idea what the problem could be, anyone who has some advice?

Problem with After Effects crashing machine when rendering

Ive been having a repeated problem with after effects crashing when I try to render a sequence.
The render halts then first After Effects becomes unresponsive then every other applications follows and I have to hard-restart my machine.
Can anyone help me find out how to stop this happening?

Performing a render, the render gets partially through but stops at different parts and hangs, then the computer hangs and I have to hard reset.

Problem opening After Effects

I just downloaded CS6 Master Collection on my new mac. When I want to open After Effects I get this message: "After Effects warning: there are multiple copies og plug-in effects "3D Camera Tracker" on your drive. To avoid problems, quit After Effects and move or delete the older or uneeded version(s)".
If I click OK, it continues with all the plug-in effects, and I have to force clising to get it away.
I don´t have any older version, so what shall I do?

This has nothing to do with an "older version". The camera tracker was only introduced in CS6. Check the relevant program and MediaCore folders for duplicates that may have been introduced by a busted install or whatever.
Important Directories
In case of doubt run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, delete the Adobe folders entirely and reinstall with a clean slate.

My notebook is GTX970M, cannot install after effect and preimer cs6

I have some problem with adobe. My notebook have been updated to use GTX970M display card. But however I cannot install after effect and preimer CS6. Is it the application cannot support it or else?
