Problem installing Adobe Reader

Hello. When installing Adobe Reader, more specifically when the process is "extracting files" suddenly appears "Error 13042". Finding out in the internet i found that the problem may be because of a corrupted installer file, but that file i downloaded from the adobe original web page, that is this page. If anyone knows what can i do i would greatly appreciate. Thank you.

Try downloading the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Problems installing Adobe Reader

    Hi,
I need some help installing Adobe Reader. First a little history.
I run Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.
I had Adobe Reader installed on my system and it was working fine.
Several days ago I had problems opening any Windows Office program after viewing a PDF file. I would have to restart my computer to get Office programs to run. During the re-start windows had to force AcroRd32.exe to shut down before it could close. I noticed that there was an updated version of Adobe Reader installed earlier this month and thought this may have cause the problem (I don't look at PDF file very often).
I looked at the forum for a solution and tried to find the file Elu.exe (I believe that is the name but can't remember exactly) and accept the licence as recommended but could not find it on my system.
I then uninstalled Adobe Reader and tried to re-install it. My system gets stuck at the "running security scan" process and never progresses. I then tried to install and earlier version of Adobe Reader and it gets stuck at the same place.
Can anyone help me with this problem? I can supply any missing information if needed.
    Thanks

I just figured out my problem.
I had another program called PDF Creator that must have been interfering. I un-installed it and was able to install Adobe reader. I liked PDF Creator because I could create PDF files for free!
    Thanks anyway

  • Problems Installing Adobe Reader 11

When I try and install Adobe Reader I get an installation error which says the "setup was interrupted before AR 11 could be completely installed. Error code 150210"   My OS is Win8 Pro 64bit ( is that the problem) I've closed all running programs and disabled my AV software all to no avail, searches of Adobe and the Internet have returned nothing.

It is possible that the link provided will not help.
All errors between 150130 and 150213 are extraction errors - AdbeRdr11000_en_US.exe file from the link is self-extractor, which means that it might fail as well.
I suggest to use MSI version (AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi) from
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/
    Good luck

  • Problems installing Adobe Reader in Windows 8.1

I keep getting an error when trying to install Adobe Reader that says it cannot stop wsearch. I tried to stop windows search manually via task manager, and it wouldn't let me stop it either. Any way to get around this so I can install the Reader.

  • Problem Installing Adobe Reader 9 on Windows XP

I have Windows XP Home and have been trying to install Reader 9
I have tried on both I.E.8 and Firefox and keep getting this message:
Error 1402. Could not open key.
    KKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_SOFTWARE\MicrosoftWindows\
    CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents\IMAIL.
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or
    contact your support personnel.
    Can anyone help?

    Do the following solutions:
Solution 1: Remove all previous versions of  Acrobat or Raeder, and then reinstall.
Choose Start > Control Panel (Windows XP) or Start  > Settings > Control Panel (Windows 2000).
    Double-click Add Or Remove Programs.
Select Adobe Acrobat or Reader[version] and click Remove.
When prompted, confirm that you want to remove Acrobat or Reader.
Repeat the above procedure for all installed versions of Acrobat or Reader.
Restart the computer, and then reinstall Acrobat or Reader.

  • Problem in installing Adobe Reader X

I wanted to install Adobe Reader X on my notebook(with no internet connection).I copied the Adobe folder from my PC to the notebook and tried to install Adobe Reader X by clicking the related exe file, but it didnt help.
The exe file, which was AcroRd32.exe,when clicked says that "Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to a problem with your system configuration.Would you like to open Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled?".
When I tried to open it with Protected Mode disabled,it gave a fatal error saying that "Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL".
No such error occured with earlier versions of Adobe Reader. There, the exe file automatically started the installation process.
Is it not possible to upgrade my Reader to X from 9.1?
(I saw a similr thread elsewhere but there the error was different and the solution talked of some whitelisting, which I am not aware of)

You cannot use Reader X until it has been installed. Installing means that the appropriate configuration has been entered into the Windows Registry. Copying a folder from another computer doesn't achieve that goal.
Here's what I suggest you do now.
Run this Microsoft fix first of all: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall via Reader via Add/Remove Programs
Download and install Reader X from here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/
P.S. There are some programs which are so called 'Standalone' apps. That means that the executable will run without using a system's processes. But Adobe Reader isn't one of them.

  • Problems downloading and installing Adobe Reader X

I had problems with Adobe Reader X (couldn't print pdf documents, very slow opening and sometimes didn't open) so uninstalled it from my computer to see if downloading the latest version would get rid of the issues.   I am running Windows Vista Home Basic.
I am unable to install Adobe Reader X - it gets to a point where it should be installed and I get an error 1303 message, telling me that I need to log in as administrator (which I am).  When I retry the installation, I keep getting the same message.  What can I do?   I have quite a number of pdf documents that I now can't even open and read.
Many thanks in advance for any help that's there!

You can try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Problems with installing Adobe Reader 9.1

    Hi,
I am hoping that there is a genius in here, who can help me. I am trying to install Adobe Reader on to my computer, however it obviously can't be done.
    Here is what happens;
    The installation starts and everything seems to go as planned. However, at the end of the installation a box pops up saying;
    The key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/Current version/Run/OptionalComponents/MSFS
could not be opened. Check that you have the sufficient acces to the key, or contact the support technicians.
    After this, the installation stops.
Can any of you helps me solve this problem?

  • Printing problem after installing Adobe Reader XI.

After installing Adobe Reader XI. I can not just print a document from email attachment without saving it to a "save the file as". Where before was able to just print the document. There is no reason I need to save these documents being printed. How do I get back to an older version that allowed me to do this?

Thanks for your response. I found the problem 1/2hr after posting my question. It had to do with the setting after hitting the print que. After installing the Adobe Reader XI the setting for destination in the print window change to save as PDF. Before it was set to my default printer. I never knew that there was other places for these documents could go. Never had to use them either.
    Again thanks for responding.

  • Problem with installing Adobe Reader.

I have just recently tried to install Adobe Reader onto my new laptop and it has Windows 8 operating systems. I encounter my problem when the installation tries to retrieve information from my laptop and an error saying, "Installation encountered errors, Actionlist not found." I've never really had any problems like this on the download and installation of a program, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using Google Chrome as my browser, if that is of any weight or importance to this issue. Thank you.

Never mind, I found the solution in a troubleshooting page on Adobe.com It was very helpful and specific on how to solve the problem. If anyone else is having this problem here is the link (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-installing-reader-proxy-server.html). Have a fantastic day.
