Problem installing aJES 05Q4 ccording to deployment example - commadmin
I have ran into problems installing JES 2005Q4 according to the deployment example. All goes smoothly until modifying mail and calendar domains with commadmin.
When running
/opt/SUNWcomm/bin/commadmin domain modify -D admin -w adminpass -X host.domain.net -n domain.net -p 80 -d domain.net -S mail,cal -H host.domain.net
it just gives errors:
Invalid value for login ID: admin
Invalid value for login password
Invalid value for login domain: domain.net
and in amAuthentication.error log there's:
"2005-12-07 21:44:45" "User Profile does not exist|module_instance|LDAP" LDAP AUTHENTICATION-270 o=domain.net,o=isp "Not Available" INFO "Not Available" "Not Available" "cn=dsameuser,ou=DSAME Users,o=isp "Not Available"
Also amConsole session times out in like 5 seconds even through the time-out settings are ok.
I'm running Solaris 10 with all the latest patches. The 05Q4 isn't patched.
Any ideas how to go about solving this?
one additional piece of information when examining the logs:
config-commda installation log has one warning at the beginning, it says that "gethostname failed to return a fully qualified hostname".
How can I check if I have my hostname configuration OK? hostname command returns just the plain hostname and "check-hostname" says that the fully qualified hostname is ok.
Could this be somehow related to the problems I'm experiencing?

In some Threads they say: Just restart the computer will help. In my case it will not. I always get the same message.
I also have seen that the jcontrol - process for the J2EE server is down and could not be started. When I look at the startupscript for this process, the jcontrol program has to be in the directory .../JC00/j2ee/os_lib/jcontrol.exe. But there is no such dirctory on my computer...
I think the two problems are related.
Hope someone can help. Thanx.
Regards,
Lars OttawaYour JDBC driver is not getting a connection. As the database you're using is not delivered by the installation I guess here may be a version problem. As far as I remember you have to take the version number of SQL Server very serious (up to the third digit).

I am using the Simple Install.
I've tried so many of the ideas suggested out here, from verifiying the loop-back adapter in hosts in windows/system32/drivers/etc/
pinging the host computer to verify
some suggested turning internet off while installing OBIEE
I need some help.
I have 4 GB installed memory
Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.1
Oracle RCU 11.1.1.5
OBIEE 11.1.1.5
oraparam.ini JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=" -mx768m -XX:MaxPermSize=768m" ( cannot change these during simple install)
Cannot run software install only
I tried same with OBIEE 11.1.1.6 using RCU 11.1.1.6
Cannot get past the step ASInstance failed.
On top of this, there is the humiliation of hearing people set up 11.1.1.3 with 2 GB memory on Windows XP32.
Now I understand, size-wise there is major difference between 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.1.6 and 11.1.1.5
But I cannot get through this process anyhow and 11.1.1.3 is not available
of course there is a windows 32 install so, given the memory requirements and memory limitations of Windows 32 bit, and other people's success I cannot understand my reason for failure.
Please helpPlease check the System Requirements for OBIEE 11.1.1.5, Windows XP might not be supported.

Problems installing Axis with WLS 8.1
I'm having problems installing Apache Axis with WLS 8.1.
I'm totally new to WLS, so this may be at the heart of the problem.
I install Axis as per the installation instructions.
These are the steps I followed:
1. Installed the axis directory to
C:\bea\weblogic81\samples\domains\examples\applications\axis2. Added xml-apis.jar and xercesImpl.jar to the AXISCLASSPATH ( the complete AXISCLASSPATH is
C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\wsdl4j.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\axis-ant.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\commons-discovery.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\commons-logging.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\jaxrpc.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\log4j.properties;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\log4j-1.2.8.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\saaj.jar;C:\axis-1_2RC2\lib\axis.jar;C:\javasoft\javamail-1.3.2\mail.jar;C:\javasoft\javamail-1.3.2\lib\smtp.jar;C:\javasoft\javamail-1.3.2\lib\mailapi.jar;C:\javasoft\javamail-1.3.2\lib\pop3.jar;C:\javasoft\javamail-1.3.2\lib\imap.jar;C:\javasoft\jaf-1.0.2\activation.jar;C:\javasoft\Xerces\xerces-2_5_0\xercesImpl.jar;C:\javasoft\Xerces\xerces-2_5_0\xml-apis.jar)3.Added weblogic.xml file to C:\bea\weblogic81\samples\domains\examples\applications\axis\WEB-INF\weblogic.xmlas per instructions with <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes> 4. Started the examples server.
5. I then tried to validate the installation as per intructions using <a href="http://localhost:7001/axis"></a>
Everything looks OK with the Axis start page displayed.
6. I then tried happyaxis.jsp . All needed components are present with saaj.jar being picked up from :
Found SAAJ API (javax.xml.soap.SOAPMessage) at C:\bea\weblogic81\samples\domains\examples\examplesServer\.wlnotdelete\extract\examplesServer__appsdir_axis_dir_axis\jarfiles\WEB-INF\lib\saaj.jar7. I'm missing optional component xmlsec.jar
8. Now the trouble starts!!!
pretty much anything I try now comes back with:
AXIS error
Sorry, something seems to have gone wrong... here are the details:
Exception - java.lang.NullPointerExceptionI get this if I try:
<a href="http://localhost:8080/axis/services/Version?method=getVersion"></a>
or
<a href="http://localhost:7001/axis/services/AdminService?wsdl"></a>
or
<a href="http://localhost:7001/axis/services/Version?wsdl"></a>
So, what's going wrong? I cant think what to do next. Please help! I need this to work fairly urgently.

Axis will not work.
Maybe this worked in a previous release/SP? I'm using 8.1SP3. I've read some other post saying you cannot override stuff in the weblogic.jar, so I've tried to add the jars to the pre_classpath, which resolves the issue but I get a soap fault related to this thread. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Problems installing Ph. Elements 9
I've had this problem since early 2014 when suddenly Elements stoped working. At that time I had some discussion at the forum with a person named "kglad".
I then uninstalled Elements and then installed it again but it didn't work.
Now I have a brand new laptop so I thought that it wouldn't be any problem installing Elements.
I wasn't even asked for a serial number - the installation just failed.
The box with Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9 is legally bought!
In my new laptop I use 7.1 Pro as my system.Hi Roger,
To help you in the best possible way I would recommend to share the installation logs. The steps how to do so can be find in this document: Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements
"The file can be found at: C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
The log filename includes the product name and install date, followed with ".log.gz." An example for a log filename is "Elements STI Installer 1.0 01-12-2011.log.gz." Note: The extension .gz indicates a compressed format."
Based on the KB you find some suggestions, If you share the file we can help you look for the root cause.

FRU11.3.1 problems installing
Hi All,
I had my primary and only server (I know, I know) running 11.2.4 and upgraded to 11.3. I had problems install/deploying the new agent to 11.2.4 machine. Then I noticed there have been 2 updates since 11.3 - 11.3.1 and FRU 11.3.1. I thought in my innocence that Aha-- these must resolve client deployment issues, surely. I proceeded to update my Primary from 11.3 to 11.3.1 and then FRU 11.3.1. I assume that deploying FRU 11.3.1 will roll up 11.3.1 ( double reboot required) but I am still having issues rolling out this agent to my test machines (32bit and 64bit).
My own machine which has 11.2.4 installed is returning the error "One or more pre-requisite updates failed to install to this device. Ensure all pre-requisite updates have been applied successfully and try again." and the other test machine which is running 11.3.0 (had to remove old 11.2.4 agent to put this on as the deployment didn't work) is also returning the error "One or more pre-requisite updates failed to install to this device. Ensure all pre-requisite updates have been applied successfully and try again.". And this is before general roll out. It's a bit scary to say the least as I anticipate this error on all our machines if I do a general deployment..
Have I missed something somewhere along the way? Dotnet4 is installed on the test machines. How do I find out where it is failing?Update trying to deploy 11.3.1 after installing dotnet4.5 (which by the way crashed my GroupWise client a couple of times it would appear):
ZCC reports "An unknown error has occurred during the deployment. Check the system-update.log on the device for details." - a classic error commonly encountered.

Problems installing SSL certificates for more than one alias on iMS 5.2
I have a problem to getting encyption on IMAP/HTTP/SMTP when they are on the same server. I only getting one SSL certificate installed by the Netscape console wizard, and therefore only one alias.
Let's say I have 3 aliases to the same server just for the scalability, imap.vxu.se, smtp.vxu.se and mail.vxu.se for http (https). Then I can only have one certificate installed at the same time, for example https://mail.vxu.se. And the others, like (S)IMAP I getting a dialouge that says the hostname doesnt is the same as the registred in the certificate. How do I solve this? Is there some possibillity to install more than ONE certificate, so I can have one certificate for each alias?
Environment: Full 420R, Solaris 8, iMS5.2
Thanks in adviceAlthough I completely agree the comments that suggestion this is not a great configuration idea, the error you are seeing ("...bean not found...") likely has nothing to do with the configuration - at least not as mentioned. My first guess is that if you are running the same exact form (FMX) as you ran for your first test then there should be no error. The only way such an error would appear is if the proper jar files are not being pulled to the client JRE or if the fmx was not properly generated. Be sure you are including config=webutil in the URL or that you have added the Webutil configuration info to your own named configuration section of formsweb.cfg
Regardless, if this is a Windows machine, the probability of having problems with multiple installations of the same version is high. Consider that the system PATH, CLASSPATH, ORACLE_HOME and various other system variables needed by the server side of the installation will overlap for each installation. This will cause problems. On the client side, attempting to download jars of the same name from the same server, but which are not actually the same files will confuse the JRE. If the JRE detects that a file which it has already cached is coming from the same server (host) then it will not attempt to pull it again. This will be a problem if the jars are not exactly the same in both installation. Making the problem worse is that you may not be able to easily determine from which installation the jars (or any files) were obtained.
So. as a general rule, regardless of whether multple installations can co-exist, I would not recommend it. This is especially true on a Windows platform. -
10.6.8 update combined - problems installing
Hi all,
Currently having huge problems installing this update on my mac, have been trying for a couple of days now to get this machine back up and running again after I was told by the genius bar 2 years ago that after them spending nearly 900 pounds on new parts, that they "had no idea what the problem was, but could be something to do with the logic board". I finally decided to sell it, but as a parts and repair it will get £100 and fully working it could get a bit more, so it's in my interest to get it up and running again.
I am by no means a computer expert, but I know a few things and can normally sort problems out by just simply using search, but alas I have finally been beaten, and have come here to ask for some assistance.
After re-installing my macbook pro 3,1 (mid 2007) with it's original 10.4 tiger software probably 5 times before it worked, then moving on to 10.6 snow leopard which also took a couple of attempts, I am now completely stuck with no way to get this machine up to 10.6.8, so that I can make the jump to mountain lion. The software update program is either an absolute heap of dung, or my computer just won't have any of it. I have tried multiple solutions which I will list below:
Using software update to install the 10.6.8 combined update - Failed
Downloading the 10.6.8 combined update from apple support downloads - Failed
Deleting the library/preferencecom.apple.softwareupdate etc. files - Still software update Failed
Downloading 10.6.1 update and installing - Success after a few attempts
Downloading 10.6.8 combined and trying again - Failed
Downloading 10.6.2 update and installing - Failed
Now this is where I am at. I have downloaded these files both on the macbook pro itself, and on my windows laptop - then transfering them across. I have never been more frustrated at a computer in my entire life, and am about 20 minutes away from throwing this laptop out of the window onto a poor bystander below. If anyone has any solution - (and don't say reformat and reinstall the OS - I've already tried that), then it would be greatly appreciated!
I'll post the console message from my last install of just the 10.6.8 combined upate (without using software update) and if someone on here who can make sense of these messages can see a problem or offer a solution, then that would also be greatly appreciated, thanks!

06/03/2013 13:53:57 Installer[182] The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. There really shouldn't be any problem downloading that combo update unless you've got a very slow or flaky connection. And Windows doesn't play as well with Mac files as the Mac does with Windows files; who knows what Windows might have done to the update's file integrity.
You might also try downloading the file using another browser such as Firefox. And when you have the updater, reboot into Safe Mode and then run the updater. That way you can be sure there isn't third party software somehow interfering with the update while it's tinkering with the guts of OS X. -
Problems installing Adobe Air and BBC iPlayer Desktop
Problems installing Adobe Air and BBC iPlayer Desktop
I'm running Windows 7 32 bit on an ASUS netbook with 2mb ram. I installed both Air 3.7 and BBC iPlayer Desktop using Google Chrome. I downloaded 3 BBC programmes. Two ran fine but the third wouldn't start and I kept getting a message to try again later. I deleted this programme and downloaded it again, with the same result.
So I uninstalled both Air and the BBC iPlayer Desktop, the Air exe file and the two folders at the following locations:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\AIR\ and
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\BBCiPlayerDesktop.xxx
Since doing this each time I try to install Air either on its own or with the BBC iPlayer software I get the message part way through installation:
"Sorry, an error has occurred.
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
I have run the Microsoft Fix it programme and still get the same result.
I have tried everything on your Trouble Shooting page apart from the bit about the elevated command prompt, but as I'm the sole user and administrator, that seems unnecessary.
I have closed Chrome and tried installation using Windows Explorer but with the same result.
I have tried all the above with Microsoft Security Essentials running and disabled. And I have tried the same with Astrill on and off.
I have had a response from the BBC with much the same advice as appears on your trouble shooting page.
Here is the Air installation log, followed by the MSI log.

Problem Installing P6 v7 Standalone on Windows 7 64 bit
I am having serious problems installing P6v7 on Windows 7 64 bit, as a Standalone.
I've installed the Oracle database, version 10g, with no problems
When I come to install the P6 software as a standalone installation on a laptop it keeps trying to link to the SQL database - as opposed to Oracle for Standalone - and I end up stuck with it asking for a password to the SQL database {the username is already locked as "sa"}, no standard passwords get me through.
According to my supplier this has happened a few times to others and they are "working on a fix"
Any advice would be most welcome.Hi DeborahZ,
Truthfully, I have nothing else to suggest other than what you have tried. You can however call HP tech support to see if they are able to offer you a discount on a newer model. If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

to boot from your original grey Mac OS X Install DVD, you’ll need to hold down the C key as you start up your MacBook Pro.
Which model MacBook Pro do you have, and which version of Mac OS is noted as being on your grey installation DVD? (It can be found on the lower left of your Mac OS X Install DVD.) -
Having problems installing Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro w/Boot Camp
Having a problem installing Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit) on my Macbook Pro (mid-2010) 13". I use the Boot Camp Assistant, download the necessary drivers and burn them to a disc. I insert my legit Windows 7 install disc, and the process begins but once I get to 'Completing installation', my mac freezes and I have to restart it and delete the partition. This has happened twice. I have contacted Apple and Microsoft and neither of them said that they could help me with the problem so if someone has had a similar issue and found a solution to it, I would really appreciate the help.
Hi S,
You may want to post in the Boot Camp forum where more of those experts hang out: https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp
