Problem installing apps

Hi,
I have just noticed that when my iPhone is connected to iTunes, it is no longer syncing my apps! Furthermore, when I go to "Devices" - "iPhone" and goto the Applications tab, it is ticked to sync applications and selected apps and all apps are ticked, but I can not change the options! The ticks are completely grey'd out and I can't change the options?!
Please help - I don't understand why this has changed suddenly! Am I doing something daft?!
Btw, I have an iPhone 2G 2.1 & iTunes is all up to date.

A solution to your issue could be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702, but I would start with a simple reset first.
Hold the 'home' and 'sleep/wake' button simultaneously pressed until you see the screen going black and then the Apple logo.

    It seems to be an issue with the Windows Store Service or Windows Update user configuration. Please try the following methods to solve this issue:

  • Problems installing apps on ipad via ICU

    Hi Everyone
    I am an IT admin and have been using the iphone Configuration Utility to setup iPhones and iPads.
    I have the latest ICU version 3.61.296 and the latest Itunes version version 10.7.0.21 on WIN 7 SP1 64BIT and I am having problems installing apps onto the iPad 3 version 5.1 (9B176). We do not want to upgrade to IOS 6 yet, because we do not want to lose Google Maps.
    I have loaded the latest version of Facebook, Twitter, Yammer and Minivan Touch apps into my ICU under APPS, then I select devices, select my iPad device, click the Application Tab on ICU, select the app to install, click install and it installs OK.
    But when I go an run any of the apps I have just installed, it flashes quickly on the iPAd screen and does not launch.
    What am I doing wrong or irs there a bug some where?
    I have always been able to install apps in the past and also run them correctly.
    Please help someone.

    In iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>General   and make sure that the "Apps" checkbox is ticked

    Well that was a jerk reply, thanks for no help 'gdgmacguy'. I have the same problem and have already contacted support regarding the matter. Hang tight Scottyp, I will post any resolution I find or receive from support for us and others coming here for help.

    Try these steps:
    The following steps will recreate the SC Info folder if it is unusable.
    Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    1. Open Computer from the Start menu.
    2. From the Organize menu, choose Folder and Search Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders," make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed:
    C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes
    7. Right-click the SC Info folder shown and on the shortcut menu, choose Delete.
    8. Restart the computer.

  • Problems Installing App Downloaded from iTunes Store; Error Code 0xE800000C.

    I am unable to install a new app downloaded from the iTunes Store.  I can connect with and download from iTunes with no problems.  But when I go to install the new app, the installation first appears to proceed okay, but after several minutes a message shows up saying that the app was not installed, and giving this error code: 0xE800000C.  During the installation, the progress bar pauses for quite a while at about one-fourth of the way across, then suddenly goes all the way across, and after that is when the message shows up.  I also tried installing another app, an earlier version of the first one, with the same result.  I have tried rebooting the phone and disabling my computer antivirus.  I have been able to install apps to this phone in the past using this same computer.  My iPhone has the latest software and I have the latest version of iTunes.
    Any ideas how I can resolve this problem?

    I actually found the answer to my problem. After posting this question I still proceeded to trying to find the answer through internet searches and noticed that my specific Fault Module Name was Quickset.qts. I uninstalled and then reinstalled it and now I can play the videos just fine.

  • Problem installing App Server 8.1 on Linux

    I've got App server 8.1 that came with a Messaging Server bundle. I tried installing on a new machine, and it wouldn't go through with the full configuation at the time of install, so I took the "configure later" option.
    I'm now trying to manually configure and start the App server, which usually is in /var/opt/sun/appserver/bin.
    However, there's nothing in there except a PointBase directory, and there's no installer file for the appserver in /opt/sun. Anyone know where the manual installer script for the app server gets kept?

    Okay - it looks like I've found the answer to my own question, unless anyone has a better answer:

    This document goes over the post-install instructions for Sun Java Application server. It assumes you were able to run the installer, and then choose the "configure now" option to enter in all of the values right then and there for the install.
    If you choose the "configure later" option, and don't enter in all of the server values right there, you are pretty much up a creek as I've found no way to actually do the post-install after this. There is literally no executible which does this.
    The only thing I was able to do that worked was to try (and fail) to run the uninstall script, and then -- when that bombed out and wouldn't actually un-install everything, I did an rpm -qa | grep sun-, and then on EVERYTHING in that list, I did an rpm -e to remove it. That finally worked and allowed me to re-run the install.
    Does anyone else have better advice on this one?

    I upgraded the software on my iphone 3gs to 5.0 and after that I can not sync my apps. I get error messag trying to sync apps stored in itunes.
    Then I bought an iphone 4s, the same problem on this phone.
    I have the apps also on my ipad2, I have not upgraded the software on this item.
    What is causing this problem?

    I take it you're not french so you can't translate that for us right? Anyways, the new iPhone is registered with the same iTunes user account correct? First, click on Store at the top and sign out of your account. Second, click on the Store at the top and deauthorize computer. Third, restart your computer. Fourth, click on the Store at the top again and sign in with your account. Fifth, click on the Store at the top and Authorize Computer.
    Let me know if that works.

    I am new to Apple products.  I am trying to install an app on my iPad.  I am logged in with my apple Id. I get an error saying cant connect to the App Store.  Do I need to have iTunes downloaded to be able to download apps.

    Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
    Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

    maybe it wants you to connect to the itunes STORE for authorization, not just to itunes. it should work automatically though, assuming you are connected to the internet while you are doing all this.

    Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
    There are a couple of possibilities here.
    First, make sure both iTunes and the iPhone are up to date.
    You might try deauthorizing and reauthorizing your computer:

    Try downloading a fresh music file from the iTunes Store on the computer and syncing it to the iPhone.
    Download the Free Single of the Week on your computer.
    Sync it to the iPhone.
    If it syncs successfully, check to see what ID is associated with the APPs that don't sync by right-clicking on the APP and choosing Get Info.
    It is possible that the APPs themselves are the cause of the issue.
    You can delete the APP(s) from iTunes and re-download them without charge.
    Lastly, backing up and restoring the iPhone may resolve the issue:

    Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Power cycle the router.
    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

    Hi, I got a problem: I organized my apps pages and folders directly on my Iphone 4G .
    But now I want to sync apps from Itunes cause I updated apps from my PC since I don't have wifi and can't update apps which are more than 20MB on my Iphone.
    The problem is that the only way I found to sync these updates is to check the "Sync the apps" but then I have to select all the apps I want again, to reorganize them again, and it says that the actual apps will be replaced by these ones so I am afraid to loose all my saves.
    So is there a way to get the sync folder on Itunes to be organized in function of the way I organized things on my Iphone?
    Actually if I don't check the "sync apps" checkbox (on top of left window) the apps appear the right way on the right window but as soon as I check the box then it seams that I have to do anything again...-_-

    No I can sync every apps, it's just that if I check the sync apps check box it's just like I didn't had any installed app before.

    If you have a credit card on file with your apple id you can remove it and select the option for none, if something is wrong with your credit or billing information it will prevent you from downloading any content until its resolved.
