Problem installing Camera raw 6.7 CS-5

Using CS-5. I can’t upgrade Camera Raw version 6.3 to version 6.7. When I run AdobeCameraRaw-6.7-mul-AdobeUpdate I get an error message that says SOME UPDATES FAILED TO INSTALL, UPDATE IS NOT APPLICABLE. A link to customer support
brings up an Adobe.com page that refers to an error message "This serial number is not for a qualifying product..." when installing an upgrade or upsell.
Suggestions?

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and reinstall from scratch, then try again. You probably have some conflict with another update for an Adobe app...

CS4 Extended problems installing Camera Raw 5.2

I have a Photoshop CS4 not registered yet because I have to wait until my transfer of license paper is processed from adobe...now I'm standing in front of some HUGE problems so let me try to describe them...I'm using a CANON 5D MARK2 and the installed Adobe Camera Raw 5.0 cannot read my RAW files so I need to install Adobe Camera Raw 5.2 which I have to do manual...I did it like this:

I OPENED THE DOWNLOAD FILE

THEN POPS UP A DIALOG BOX SAYING SELECT A DESTINATION AND EXTRACT FILES
I CLICK ON EXTRACT THEN POPS UP A NEW WINDOW OPEN FILE-SECURITY WARNING I RUN IT AND THEN POPS UP ANOTHER WINDOW WELCOME TO THE CAMERA PROFILES SETUP WIZARD I CLICK ON INSTALL AND THEN ALWAYS POPS UP A ERROR MESSAGE WINDOW SAYING:
ERROR OPENING FILE FOR WRITING:
C:PROGRAM DATA ADOBE CAMERA RAW CAMERA PROFILES ADOBE STANDARD CANON EOS 1000D ADOBE STANDARD.DCP
CLICK ABORT TO STOP THE INSTALLATION so I HAVE TO ABORT IT
and when I go to C-PROGRAM FILES-COMMON FILES-ADOBE-PLUG INS-CS4-FILE FORMATS and DOUBLE CLICK on CAMERA RAW CS4 opens with the ERROR MESSAGE COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR REQUEST BECAUSE ITS NOT THE RIGHT KIND OF DOCUMENT....???
I have absolutely no clue what this could be and I bet I did something wrong but have no idea what...after 3 days of stress pure I'm about to snap and throw this product out of my window-I'd more than appreciate suggestions/help so I can fix this problem!!

thanks for the reply I have windows VISTA and yes
installed is a 64bit version and the normal version-I cannot choice
the updates option because I'm not registered yet.
maybe it has to do with the 64bit version because I always uploaded it to the normal 32 bit version?

Problems Installing Camera Raw

Hi,
I had to re-install PS3 and Bridge earlier this week and had to download the Camera Raw and DNG convertor to deal with my D300. I can view RAW files in Bridge and edit them in PS3 but will not let me open them in Camera Raw or apply camera raw settings. What do I need to do or where to I need to extract the ZIP file to to get it to work

Problem installing Camera Raw Plug-In

I've just downloaded the Camera Raw 4.4.1 plug-in from this site and have followed the steps in order to install it, nevertheless Photoshop is still unable to read my raw files. In my Library/Application Support/Adobe I couldn'7 find the "Plug-Ins" folder so there weren't any earlier version of this plug-in. What steps can I take in order to open my raw archives on Photoshop? Thank you.

You are looking in the WRONG Library.
You want the ROOT LEVEL Library, not your user Library.

Problems installing Camera Raw 6.6 update

Hi, I have CS5 Design Premium, and have just tried without success to install the Camera Raw 6.6 update. If I try using the automatic updater in CS5, it starts the process, then after a short while it stops and gives me the message: "Please close the following applications to continue: Adobe Bridge CS5 (Bridge.exe)". If I close Bridge or Photoshop, and then click continue, I just get the same message - as if there is a ghost copy of the program running somewhere in the background. I've tried downloading the file manually, then clicking on the Adobe Patch Installer as instructed on the Adobe website, but it just takes me straight to the Updater screen in Bridge or Photoshop, and I then get the same message again. It's a vicious circle - how do I get out of it? I've done exactly as I'm supposed to, but it's telling me I've got a program open even I've shut it down... Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

ColinAusterberry I am unsure if you are using Windows or Mac OS but I would recommend you complete the following to allow the update to proceed.
Solution 1: Exit Adobe Bridge manually.
In Windows, right-click the Bridge CS5 or CS4 icon in the Notification Area of the Start Bar in Windows, and choose Exit Bridge. If you still cannot close Bridge, open the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete. In Task Manager, choose Bridge and select End Task.
In Mac OS, Ctrl-click the Bridge CS5 or CS4 icon in the dock and choose Quit.
Solution 2: Force Adobe Bridge to quit.
In Windows, right-click the Start Bar and choose Task Manager. Select the Processes tab, and choose to end the Bridge.exe process.
In Mac OS, choose Apple menu > Force Quit, and choose to close Adobe Bridge.
Note: Solutions 1 and 2 allow Adobe Bridge to continue to start at login.
Solution 3: Disable the option to start Adobe Bridge at login.
In Bridge CS5 or CS4, choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe BridgeCS5 or CS4 > Preferences (Mac OS).
Choose Advanced.
Deselect Start Bridge At Login.
You can reenable this option at any time.

Problem with installing camera raw 3.7

Can somebody help me?I was trying to install camera raw 3.7 but the option for launching it still is disabled..i cant figure out where is the problem...can somebody explain me a little bit more about installing camera raw?i moved the camera raw.8bi into another folder but then i got confussed..it seems to me as camera raw.8bi and camera raw plug in are the same,...from then on i coulnt find the way out!!please can somebody explain me about the process!!thanks in advance

It seems you are on CS2, in which case ACR 3.7 is indeed the last version to run with it.
To install the latest plug-in put it right where the older one was, and COMPLETELY DELETE the old one; just renaming it won't do, nor will moving it to a different folder anywhere near the path will be sufficient. If you want to keep the old one, move it to your documents or data folder, FAR AWAY from the application. You could even keep just a zipped version of it.

If you ended up with a file called "Camera Raw.plugin" you may have inadvertently downloaded the Macintosh version of the plug-in by mistake. If that's the case and if you are on Windows, download the Windows version now.
Look at Dorin's screen shot for the proper name of the latest file you need for Windows:

Can't install Camera RAW 6.3 into Elements 9

I have downloaded the installer for 6.3 but when I go to install it, I get this message. "Some updates failed to install." When it tells me to fix the problems below, all it says is: installation failed!
I need this update in order to open RAW images from my Canon Powershot S95.
I am working with Elements 9 on both an iMac running OS 10.6.8 and onto a new MacBook Pro.
I have spent an hour reading everything I can and haven't been able to find any place to send this question to Adobe by email. The phone system for help has more than a half-hour of wait time.
Can someone figure out this problem?

Thank you. I couldn't find the Mac update section at the Adobe site by
using the various search options.
But,
The new download 6.5 installed without trouble. However, the "open with"
command still prompted Elements to respond with an "Unrecognized file type"
error, even though Elements was not listed as the default application.
Trying to open a nef file within Actrobat still showed the nef files grayed
out as unopenable with the application.
I tried to do the manual copying of the camera raw.plugin from the Assets 2
folder as you suggested. H owever it does not appear to be used in the
newer version (6.5). Instead, there is a Profiles directory containing two
further directories: CameraProfiles and LensProfiles.
The CameraProfiles folder contains a series of further folders for various
camera types, and each folder had a number of .dcp files. I can't find a
"camera raw.plugin" anywhere within Assets 2.
So, in sum:
1) The disk image Elements9CameraRaw-6.5-mul-AdobeUpdate downloaded from
Adobe installs correctly.
2) The default program type for .nef files was changed to Elements
3) Elements will not open a .nef file either from "open with" or within the
application selecting open from the menu.
Hoping you can help me work around this problem.

I updated to Version 12.0.4 in CS 5 32 bit and have also ran the Camera Raw 6.1 with the same results. I also updated the Adobe DNG Converter 6.6, Adobe Air and Adobe Support Advisor.
This is very maddening and seems to be a big issue for many people.
Can someone direct me to the solution for this issue.

I'm sorry you have not had a response yet, and I am not going to be able to give a definitive answer either. I can't see if you have mentioned what platform you are using?
Recent ACR updates have installed outside of the auto update process for me, mainly because I see a heads up in places like tis forum of DPReview, but the updater still tries and fails to include ACR. When I check it is already installed. That does not sound to be the case for you as you say you have unsecessfully tried to open NEF files from recen Nikons.
Have you tried downloading ACR manually outside of the updater?

I don't feel like I have fixed your problem, but if you at least tell us what platform you are using, the weekend is coming to a close and folk are getting back to work, so help will be on its way.
BTW I am in New Zealand and it is Monday evening, _and_ it is Waitangi Day, but we are more into lifestyle than earning a living here.

PSE 10 from Apple Store problem with camera raw 6.7 upgrade

PSE 9 was not opening Nikon d4 raw files so I've purchased PSE 10 at the Apple Store and installed on my Mac. PSE 10 is still not opening d4 raw files (camera raw 6.5). I tried to update to 6.7 taken from Adobe but did not succeed to install it. Could you please advice what to do?

The D800 is listed as needing ACR 6.7/7.1. That raises a red flag that might indicate that 7.1 is needed. Since that requires CS6 you can not use that version. If others confirm you need 7.1 you either have to upgrade or use the DNG converter with latest version, which I think is 8.1.

Install Camera Raw 4.6 manually on a Mac

I would like to install Camera Raw 4.6 for my Adobe Photoshop CS3, but I am unable to use the Adobe Updater (doesn't work at all - another story though). How will I be able to do this manually?
Im on a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and Photoshop 10 with Camera Raw 4.0 already installed.

Installing camera raw

i sent the following question a couple of hours ago:
I am trying to install the latest version of camera raw, v6.6. I have downloaded the update file. However when i run the patch installer i get the message that it is not applicable. Does anyone know what the problem is and how i can get round it?
Unfortunately i forgot to state that I am using Photosphop Elements version 9.

However, You cannot install camera Raw 6.6 on PSE 9 as it is not ment for that.
For installing Camera Raw 6.6 you need to have PSE 10.

Installing camera raw 6.7 - "error loading updater workflow"

This is what happens when I try to install camera raw 6.7 in Windows 7. Anyone have this problem and have discovered how to fix it? I have tried shutting the computer down and restarting, tried re-downloading several times, no luck. I was able to install the Adobe DNG converter from the same page on Adobe Labs without difficulty. Any suggestions? My computer guys just threw up their hands and laughed at me...LOL.

Try running the Application Manager update by downloading the update installer from the below website:

Once the update is applied, restart the machine, and then try to launch updater again, see if this works??

The file that you downloaded is a self-contained running application that installs the update on your computer. After you download that file, you need to double-click on it and follow the prompts to install it. After it has completed you will have Lightroom 4.4 installed and it will be ready to run. If you are on a Windows computer, the installation will replace your 4.1 installation. If you are on a Mac then you will have both versions installed and you will have to be sure you start the right one.
