Problem installing CS5 on Windows 7 laptop
I have CS5 on my Windows 7 desktop. Now I want to install CS5 on my Windows 7 laptop. Since it's an upgrade, it won't install. I have a CS4 upgrade, and a full version of CS3. Do I need to install the full CS3 version first, then the CS4 upgrade, and then the CS5 upgrade?
You can directly install the CS5 upgarde , no need to have the CS4 and CS3, all you need is serial Number of the CS4 to install the upgrade.

Problem installing Premeir on Windows 8 laptop
I run the setup program and it all starts just fine. I select the language (English) and then it gives me the "Preparing to install" progress bar. Then the installer exits and puts a text window on the screen. The window is called "Windows Installer" and the text inside is about how to use Windows Installer V 5.0.9200.16384. It looks like the command line syntax help screen for Windows Installer.
The laptop came with Norton Internet Security and I have turned everything off that I can find shy of uninstalling it. I told it not to scan any files on the C drive.

Problem Installing iStudio 10g on my Laptop
I am having problems installing iStudio 10g on my laptop (Windows XP). The install is erroring out at a point where it asks for the hub information, it says "An error occurred while validating the password of the ichub schema". I know for sure that I am using the correct password, as I can connect to the OAIHUB904 schema through SQL.
Any ideas, as to why I am facing this problem.

Problem Installing 817 on Windows 2000 with RAID Array
I am having a problem installing Oracle under windows 2000 which has 2 x 60 GB discs configured in RAID array. When I run the setup program the cursor goes busy for about 10 seconds and returns back to normal and nothing happens !. No errors nothing.
However when I run the Object Manager in the ods_preinstall directory it starts but in the log file I get the following error message:-

MartinHere are some possible solutions:
1. The installation notes state that you must be logged on as Administrator to be able to install 9i. Are you logged on as the Administrator? Being logged on as user01 with Administrator priviledges isn't the same as Administrator.
2. Is the disk full? If I remember my installation correctly, I needed 3 times the size of the files. The documentation will tell you how much space you need.

Can't install photoshop cs5 on Windows 7 laptop
Hello, I was attempting to install Photoshop cs5 on my Windows 7 laptop and every time I attempt to install it, the installer stops and pulls up a message saying, "Installer failed to initialize." so I've tried turning off UAC, running as administrator, using the hidden admin feature, and turning off all services, all to no avail. There are no errors in the installer logs at all, nor are there any failures. I require assistance.

Problem installing itunes onto Windows 8 upgraded laptop
Recently upgraded my new Windows 7 laptop to Windows 8. When trying to install itunes I get about 3/4 way through installation and a message comes up saying Network Error and installation fails. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

What's the precise text of that error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.) -
Transfering my probrams from old laptop Win 7 to new Win 8. When I try to install Win 5, from the same files that I had installed it from on windows 7 it has the error:
"Please try restarting your system and installing again.
Installer failed to initialize"
That is after a fresh reboot.
Tried running it in combatiblity mode, no help.
Tech support verified that it is deactivated from the old computer.
Saw some posts on the form about downloading the program seporatly. But concerned that is a Trogen. I don't know. Don't see how to download the latest cs 5 from Adobe.
Tried tech support and they said cs5 is no longer supported, and said the only support is on the forms.
Have not see specific ideas what to look into in other posts in the form.
The file I am trying to install it from is for Production Premium. All I realy want is PS and Premire. Maybe it is the installer. Where can I get just the components.
Had heard the requirements where for a 7200 RPM drive. I want to install it from the high capacity slow drive to the High speed SSD drive. I don't see how this would matter to the program.
Are others using CS5 on windows 8?
What else should I try?

RobertApparently it has installed correctly, Opened a few files, did a few edits, but need to realy put it through it's pases. I was concerned that the 64 bit version would not install if it was installed in compatiblity mode. But apparently it works fine.
The basics about how I installed it are:
Downloaded it from the link suggested at prodesigntools, several steps to that, just read the instructions.
added a shortcut for the setup program and set that to run in compatibility mode for xp sp3
I don't know if this matters but I also right clicked on the shortcut and ran as administrator. My normal account is admin privlaged, but took that out of the mix.
If you are reading this probably means you are having problems. Good luck on getting them resolved.

Problem updating CS5 on Windows 8.1
I have successfully installed Ps CS5 on a laptop running Windows 8.1. When I attempt to update Ps (Help >Updates . . .) I get this error message:
The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again later.
I do not get this message when I select Updates on my Windows 7 computer, and I did not get it when I installed Ps CS5 on a different laptop running Windows 8. (I uninstalled it from that laptop.) I have tried turning the firewall off, but that did not help.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Problems Installing Oracle 8i on Gateway laptop W/ 1.6 GHz CPU
I'm having problems installing Oracle 8i on a Gateway 600X with a 1.6 GHz CPU and Windows 2000 Professional. The Install/DeInstall screen appears, I click Install/Deinstall, the screen disappears, the hourglass disappears a couple seconds later, and the the install ends without any messages. I tried installing on slower machines and the software seems to install correctly. Is there an issue with Intel's new Mobile Pentium 4 processors or Gateway's laptops?

Mikehave a look in your $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory. If the init<ORACLE_SID>.ora file has remote_login_password=exclusive then you should also have a file called orapw<ORACLE_SID>. If you haven't, then create one by running "orapwd file=orapw<ORACLE_SID> password=internal entries=5".
This has worked for me in the past, hope it helps.
