Problem installing downloaded 'Sonata std medium' font on Win7

I have downloaded the Sonata font from Adobe Shop, unzipped it, right clicked on SonataStd.oft and installed it, but it isn't working or showing as a music font.
I looked at the properties, clicked the ‘unblock’ option, but it made no difference.
I assume there is a security setting blocking it, can anyone give me a clue as to what or where? It works perfectly well on my winXP computer.

Pengey I believe I have discovered a way to verify your font is installed and functioning properly. I was able to complete the following steps on a Windows 7 computer.
Go to Start>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map
Select the Sonata Std font
Choose the option for Advanced View
For the Group By option choose Unicode Subrange
Select Symbols & Dingbats from the Group by Dialog - see screenshot below
Click on one of the music symbols - U + 2669 Quarter Note for example
Double click on the Symbol so it appears in the Character to Copy box
Click the Select Button followed by the copy button - this will copy the glyph to your clipboard
Press the Windows key and R to invoke the run dialog box
Type in Wordpad and press ok
Press Control - V to paste the symbol in. It should now become visible in Wordpad
This will allow you access and view the extended character. I tried this in Fireworks btw and it does appear that Fireworks CS4 is unable to support the extended character set. Instead of viewing the music symbols I was only able to see boxes with X's through them. I did also try the latest version of Fireworks and it appears it has a similar limitation.
If you are looking for an Adobe Application which does support Sonata Std I would recommend Illustrator for your graphic creation needs. It might also be worthwhile to post in the Fireworks forum as well. The users in that forum maybe aware of a workaround to allow the ability to access extended characters within Fireworks. http://forums.adobe.com/community/fireworks/fireworks_general

I am having problems installing downloaded applications. After I download an application, I can see it in my "downloads" folder. When I double click it, instead of finding the package, I am taken directly to my "terminal" screen, and then cannot install. Is there a setting that is the problem, and if so, how can I correct it? I have read the post above but cannot really follow the advice & it doesn't seem to help me. I have downloaded two applications which do not load; (1) a plugin for Photoshop & (2) some Nokia sync software for my phone. I can see the downloads, but with (1) - which is a .dmg file - when I click on it, it does nothing; doesn't open or install anything. With (2), it tells me it is downloading to 'Macintosh HD'; but when I look on the HD I cannot see it anywhere.
Can anyone assist please?

Problems installing Download! for PC Beta Version ...

I am trying to install Download! for PC beta version 1 onto my PC. But it brings up an error message saying
"Install Nokia PC Suite version 6.82.21 or later before installing Nokia Download!". Then it quits.
However I have PC Suite 6.85.14.1 already installed.
Has anyone else seenthis or am I doing something wrong.

I had the same problem and tried unsuccessfully several times to install this update though the software update. I did download and install in manually, and it worked with no problems. Problem installing downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac

Just bought this online and downloaded but for past two days having problems on my Macbook Pro 13 running 10.7.3. After FIRST backing up my HD and formatting to non-case sensitive (what?? why did I need to do that?) then reinstalling.... I get this error:

Installing downloads to change default font size???

Hello all,
I am in desperate need of some guidance on the proper way to install a download from the market place. I am blind as a bat and cannot see the default font on any menu. I found "Font Changer" and it said in the description that one would be able to have some control and be able to change font size to be larger and more readable. I found sense analog clock which is big enough for me to read (Thank Goodness) and handcent for texting so I can at least read the texts coming in, although at this point texts come in and I not sure yet why, probably a default setting, but type is to small to read! So let's just say that I am kinda a dummy when it comes to this Droid Pro and making it a user friendly phone. FORMER BLACK BERRY USER!! I am trying desperatley to keep this phone and not end up returning it...out of frustration of my inability to be able to see or read the phones menus, etc. I guess I am just trying to find a relatively easy way to find, install, and use the ability to make bigger fonts on phone!! I welcome ANY advise or direction!! I just know I NEED HELP!!

Hello ^^ I used to use an app called Go SMS. It was a messaging app that you could customise and stuff. It's easy to change the fonts using that if you want it for just messsages ^^ I used to use ADW Launcher and ADW Launcher X too and I can't remember but I believe you might be able to change font size there? I know you can change the size on the home screen. But since I used the droid 1, it slowed my phone down so I stopped using it all. But I think if your phone has a larger processer it should work find. I think. OTL Good luck!

JRE or SDK install problem - installing in non-std dir

I'm encountering a problem trying to install either the JRE or SDK into a non-standard directory (one that's not the default of c:\j2sdk1.4.2_01 or what have you). This is occuring with both 1.4.2_01 and 1.4.2_02.
In this case, I'm trying to install it in a directory similar to c:\progra~1\compan~1\produc~1\jre. (Short names b/c I can't figure out how to do long paths silently, but that's a whole different issue).
The install nears the end and then presents the user with a "Java(TM) Update (1.4.2_01-b06) cannot be installed on this machine because the Java(TM) Virtual Machine is currently running. Please close all running Java(TM) applications, especially browsers. [RETRY] [CANCEL]" message.
There's definitely not a JVM running at the moment. If I click Cancel, the install finishes up and there is a workable install there. But why the prompt? Since this is a silent install within another install, it will cause concern for my customers.
The last few lines of my setup file:

Has anyone encountered this? I've narrowed it down to the fact that it's an install into a directory that's not the default. If I run the install without specifying the INSTALLDIR, everything works fine. Help is appreciated!

Rebooting has no effect whatsoever on this problem; even if you can now get the SDK installed, a non-administrative account won't be able to use the JRE in it, nor will the user be able to use the other JRE installed in the default location.

Problem Installing/Downloading App

I just recently got a new Macbook Pro and had to go on a trip the next day. When I was away I tried to dowload an Alarm Clock app on hotel wifi. As most people know hotel wifi can be kinda shifty at times. By shifty I mean that it will work one minute and then not the next. So I understood this and patiently waited for it to download. I guess it got interupted partway through because I had to go back to the appstore to resume. But when I tried to resume the bar show that 15.9/15.9 MB had been downloaded and it was about to install. Then I get a little pop up saying that an error occured and I should try again from purchases. I have tried about 30 seperate times over the past 4 days and I have constantly gotten the same message. And before anyone gives me a link to one of the Apple Support pages telling you how to resume a download, I have already looked through most of them and have had no luck so far.

Problem installing Download Assistant

I'm trying to download Acrobat X1 Pro. But first:
The Download Assistant downloads. I try to open and install it, but can't. Nothing happens, no error message, nothing. I then uninstalled a previous version of DA, but still cannot open or install the Assistant. Tried rebooting computer and starting whole process over, no help.
Any ideas?

Problems installing Sonata Std font for use in Word 2011 for Mac

I just purchased and installed Sonata Std font (downloaded from the Adobe website) for use on my 2009 MacBook, running OSX 5.8. I'm trying to use the font in MS Word for Mac 2011. Sonata Std is now showing up in the list of available fonts within Word, but when I select the font and go to type in characters within the font (such as flat and sharp signs, using the proper keystrokes), the characters are not displaying correctly (not at all, in fact — I get a series of boxy-looking glyphs rather than proper music accidentals). Are there any additional steps that I need to do in order to install the font and get it to work properly in Word?

What are your language & region settings? Have you tried inserting those characters via your keyboard/ charmap utility? What is your default language/ encoding/ compatibility setting in Word? Definitely some sort of Unicode issue...

Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
cmd /k netsh winsock reset
Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
You should get something similar to this:
Reboot the computer and the problem should be resolved.
If it doesn't work then perhaps a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes will fix things. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.

Unless you've done anything to change it, Google keeps every email that ever passes through their server in your All Mail folder/mailbox/label. Even if you delete stuff, they hold onto it, there. You have to go out of your way to actually delete anything permanently.

It seems to be a problem with logging in App Store in the Mac (Yosemite 10.10.2).
