Problem installing flash player 10.1

I uninstalled my flash player and tried to install
flash player 10.1 using a 32bit internet explorer on windows but as soon as I click the install button I get a window pop up stating...operating system error 16287.103.502-73172312.80040154.FFFFFFFF.80040154 any suggestions for fixing this?????

Use the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe; save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

I am experienceing problems installing flash player. I go to the adobe website and install the program and I am told it has been successfully  installed. No flash player  icon apppears on my desktop. When I press the windows start icon and click on "all programs" there is no evidence of the flash player. However when I click on" my computer" icon and go into uninstall/change the flash player program is there.I have spent quite some time installing, uninstalling and installing again without success
I am using windows Vista. I am also using Kaspsersky Internet security. It is a private computetr so I do not think  I need administrators permission.  I have tried installing flash player using both interner explorer and Mozilla firefox. Please can anyone help. Many thanks.

Shane, since you must be having problems getting a thread started, I'll just go ahead and try to help you here.
Use IE and go to Help and click on About Internet Explorer. It should tell you sp1 or sp2.
Also using IE, go to Tools, click on Manage add ons and look in all add ons for Shockwave Flash Object. Let me know if it is Enabled and if it is version 10.0.45.2 or says Flash10e.ocx.
Then switch over to FF (Firefox) and find the plug-in SWF version 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is listed and Enabled.
Post this info back to me.

Their Flash detection script does not recognise PocketPC. You
    could try
using PocketIE Plus to view it. Set it to identify itself as

    Won't work if you have

The html says this is Flash 5, so it should play fine.

This is Flash 6, and should also play fine.

The Adobe Reader and the Flash player are not connected in
    any way, so this

  • Problems installing flash player for all users on a computer (domain)

    Hi all,
I've had a quick search but have unfortunately not found any answers.
I've just setup a new image using WDS to install 55 new Dell computers. Flash player was installed as part of this image, the problem i'm getting is that if I log in as a domain administrator I can run flash fine with no problems, however if I log in as a domain user, and try to visit any site that requires flash, i can't seem to view any flash content.
When logged in as the domain user and navigate to control panel I can see the "Flash player settings" option and when I view installed software I an see that flash player 11 is installed.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be? - Do you require admin rights to view flash files?
Any help would be extremely grateful!
    Thanks.
    Matt

It might be a permission problem in the Flash Player install folder.  Try a clean install on the original machine.
If that does not resolve your problem, can you tell what Windows version & edition you are using?
Also check the permissions of all files in
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
    C:\Windows\Syswow64\Macromed\Flash

  • Problem installing Flash Player 10.3

I was trying to install Adobe Flash Player 10.3, which is apparently the latest version.  When I go to YouTube, there is now a message at the top of the YouTube website that states you must have Adobe Flash Player 10.3 to watch any videos.  So I tried to install Adobe Flash Player 10.3, but I get the following error message --
Please close the following programs to continue.
    brccmctl
    Internet Explorer
brccmctl appears to be the program running the Adobe Flash Player 10.3 installer.  If I close brccmctl, the installer window disappears.  I'm using Windows XP, which is supposed to compatible with 10.3.  My browser is Internet Explorer 8.0.  I've also tried turning Norton Antivirus on and off, but that has no effect on this problem.
I have no idea what to do to get around this problem, help!!

  • Problem installing flash player with I.E

Whilst surfing around the internet this morning I vaguely remember getting a message about needing an adobe flash player update shortly followed by my browser crashing. I didn't think much more of it but from this afternoon onwards I discovered that almost every website i visited would throw up a "This website wants to run the Following add-on: 'Adobe Flash Player' from 'Adobe System Incorporation'. If you trust the website and the following add-on and want to allow it to run, Click Here..." message at the top of the page.
I tried resetting Internet Explorer 8's security settings to default (i think they were default anyway) but this made no difference. I went to the adobe website to attempt to install the latest flash player but every time i went to the installation page it would refresh itself after about 5 seconds with a "This tab has been recovered. A problem with this web page caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab" message at the top of the page. The page would then refresh again, this time ending up with a "We were unable to return you to adobe.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website." error page.
In an effort to resolve these problems I uninstalled adobe flash player using the adobe uninstaller (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), rebooted my computer and attempted to install the flash player again. Once again I couldn't install it with my attempts again ending up at the "We were unable to return you to adobe.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website." error page.
I just tried downloading the Firefox browser and have had no problem installing and using the adobe flash player so I am guessing the problem is some sort of issue between adobe and internet explorer- any solutions?
    Thanks :-)

Hi, You didn't say what version of IE you are using, but most likely IE7 or IE8. It's some option in the browser I'm sure.
Since you ran the Uninstaller, and it Uninstalls all Flash Player from All browsers, try this Adobe Installer that you will download and SAVE to your Desktop. Then close all browsers, keep your Security setting on Medium for the Internet Zone, be sure to use the Administrator account(only one that has permission). Check your system tray (area by the clock) and disable any application that uses Flash, as Messenger services.
Run the Installer from your Desktop and when it is finished, be sure to Reboot(restart) your computer.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
    Then test here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Check your websites to see if they are working properly.
    Thanks,

  • Problem installing flash player 10

I have had a prompt on 2 windows since yesterday, that I must install the Flash Player latest version.  I tried several times unsuccess
fully to install.  It shows in my control panel, but I'm still being told that I do not have it.  I am running a 32 bit Vista Home Premium system w/ I E and Norton 360.  I've never had a problem before w/Adobe.  I followed suggestions on the screen, uninstalled, restarted, etc & still nothing.  Now it doesn't even show in my control panel at all.    I need help.

My personal experience (three years of testing software installs and updates with Norton, McAfee, and Panda A/V on test systems) is that they are all highly invasive, and extremely difficult without an MCSE and a Software engineering degree to keep from messing up things you NEED to do to keep your computer running properly.
AVG is much more "user friendly" and doesn't "permanently install" components like Norton and McAfee do.
With McAfee Internet Security, often times, turning it off isn't enough.
I have a Toshiba Laptop and the OEM recovery disc has McAfee included, and an OS reload takes no less than three reboots after uninstalling M.I.S. and deleting registry keys to get it completely off of the system. Until then it tries to launch McAfee firewall at startup, even when it's been uninstalled.
    Back to the FP issue.
Are you seeing any error messages related to McAfee?
Try running the SubinACL from Microsoft
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html
And then do a fresh install from the download page.

  • Problem installing Flash Player Plugin

    Hello All,
I've seen a lot of problems on this, but I  haven't been able to get any kind of complete resolution to my problem.  Recently I found myself needing to upgrade my firefox and when I did, I  started having problems with my flash Player and I've been without it  ever since... (about 3 days now).
I'm Running Windows  XP and I'm using Firefox.
Everytime I try to Install  the latest flash Player, I get an error message saying:
"Error opening file for writing: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\flash\NPSWF32.dll"
...clicking on Retry does nothing, and clicking on Ignore gives me another message:
"Error opening file for writing:  C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\flash\NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe"
And the cycle continues... and no matter what I do, I can't seem to install my flashplayer. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this so I can get my flashplayer back?
    thanks!

Hi Jason, You may read over this thread and if you have any questions, just post back before beginning or after.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2606181#2606181
These were instructions for Uninstalling and Installing using Firefox. The info is also there for Installing FP using IE.
If you want to install FP in IE, I would suggest you download and put the IE Installer on your Desktop before beginning.
That way you have the Uninstaller on your Desktop, the FF and the IE.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

  • Problem - installing flash player 7

Hello, I have a problem to anyone that can help. I have an online store I'm setting up. The company that is handles the credit cards, etc, only supports internet explorer for their software. so, I downloaded internet explorer 5.2.
    - then, when I go into internet explorer and click on a link that I need to go to, it says "you do not have the plugin needed to view the "application /x-shockwave-flash", then it says 'view plugin' to get the plugin.
-, I downloaded the plugin, flash player 7. Now, when I click on the icon for the plugin to install if after have downloaded it, the computer says " there is no default application specified to open the document "installflash_player_7ax.exe"
    - does anyone know what application I use or how to get this working? Thank you very much for anyone that can help me.

Thank you for your replies. I downloaded adobe flash, and now the page I need does not give me an erroer, but just does not load. It goes to the page, shows address though. Any other suggestions? I would also be happy to give someone a ring on the phone at my expense or email back and forth if anyone really has the extra time / knowledge.
    - just to tell more info what I'm doing. I have an account thru Godaddy.com for a 'Quick Shopping Cart'. within this Quick shopping Cart I am trying to enable credit cards to be accepted via a Merchant called Quickbooks Merchant Service.
    - the main problem I'm having though right now, is just getting into this 'quick shopping cart' part of godaddy.com . They will not give me support though and are very unhelpful. they just state ' sounds like you need to download adobe flash' and that they don't support 'support' for browsers, etc...
    Ok, thank you again, Bryan.

  • Problem installing Flash Player-says to close Internet Explorer, but it's already closed

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player, and have checked that it is installed and enabled, but still the application that requires Flash Player asks for it to be installed.  When I try to install it again, it says to close Internet Explorer and retry, which I do, but to no avail.  Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Empty?  Did you click on the Processes tab?
Try the following: download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header and save it to disk.  Restart Windows, then before doing anything else, run the downloaded installer.

  • General Problems Installing Flash Player

I'm trying to get movies to work on Youtube (which worked
yetserday; was the new version added recently?). It told me to
download the newest Flash Player, so I tried to, but it doesn't
work. I can get up to the step after the activeX control popup and
the "Install / Dont Install" popup. After that, the movie that
would usually show the installation process doesn't load. I know
what usually happens, because I've installed it on other computers
in the past. I get the little shapes icon in the upper-left corner
which, after 2 or 3 minutes, turns into an X. EDIT: I forgot to
mention that sometimes it goes as far as saying that Internet
Explorer will restart, but it never does anything.
    What's going wrong?
If you need to know, I have a Windows Vista laptop with
    parental controls. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks,
