  • Driver issue-problem installing hardware

I installed the latest update to iTunes yesterday. Now, when I connect my IPod to my PC, I get the following error message:
"There was a problem installing this hardware-apple IPOD USB driver-An Error Occurred During the Installation of this device. The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request."
I have searched for an updated driver, but I keep getting the same error message as above. The iPod shows up in device manager, but with a yellow exclamation point next to it. It says "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)." I've also reinstalled the driver.cab file from my Windows installation disk, but none of this has resolved this issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I've resolved this issue. I used SYSTEM RESTORE to find a restore point from before I upgraded iTunes. When I went to start iTunes after restoration it didn't want to start, so I had to go to the Apple web site to download and reinstall iTunes. It seems to be working now though some of my music didn't initially sync from the library to my iPod because my computer wasn't "authorized" according to the error message. All I did then was attempt to play oe of the songs that wouldn't sync and I got prompted for my iTunes password, plugged that in and everything seems to have synced just fine.

  • Having a HUGE problem with my N95 8GB

    Hi everyone,
Ok, so i bought a Nokia N95 8GB on my Vodafone Contract
I didnt want to use it on Vodafone, i wanted to ues it on o2 UK. So i had the phone legally unlocked in Vodafone for £19.99
I put in the code and it said 'Sim card restriction off'. I thought it would be unlocked, so i switched off then back on.
I put my o2 SIM in the phone and instead of it saying 'Invalid SIM', it was fine. I had full network coverage and o2-UK was displayed.
I then tried to dial out, but when i did, all i got was 'Connection Error'. I thought, this is odd!?
I tried to text, and the same thing: 'Your message could not be sent'
I am now getting a message saying 'Sim card registration failed'
I am at wits end with my phone, and any help i would be grateful for
    Thanks!

LOL 4 finger salute.... I like that
Its a full format of the phone based on the firmawre on it. Its the Ulitmate in re-formatting the phone. You loose everything data wise and all settings are set back to their default as per the firmware spec's.
The soft reset changes the phone settings back to default. I cant exactly remember if you loose contacts and other data as its been sometime since I did it on my old 6600.
To do : 4 finger salute is what you described (enough said)
Softreset : *#xxxx# replace "x" with code number for your device.
I did the hard reset many times on my 6600 and it bought back to life like the first day I got it.......still like that phone.
    Hope it helps....man

  • Problems installing hardware (zen Xt

I have a Zen Xtra with the latest playsforsure firmware installed on it. Whenever I use it on my dad's computer, it works fine and I can transfer music instantly, but I can't use it at all on my computer...when I plug it in, Windows recognizes that a new hardware has been detected, but it can't install the drivers. I don't have the original installation disc, so I downloaded the drivers off this website, but it doesn't do anything at all. Windows recognizes the hardware but can't install it. Any Ideas? by the way, my dad and I both have XP. Thanks a lot.

rush40 wrote:I have the same problem with Windows 98 here in Norway:-(
Did you also load the PlaysForSure/MTP firmware onto the player? That firmware is only suitable if you are running WindowsXP (SP or higher) and Windows Media Player 0. With that firmware, your player will not work on Windows 98.

  • HP Pavilion DV6545EG, Ricoh 5-in-1 card reader - problem installing hardware!

    Hello,
For a few days now I've been trying to install the hardware specified in the title with no success, therefore I am asking for some help in trying to solve this issue.
Before I start describing the situation, there is some info about the notebook I'm posting from:
My notebook is currently running on Windows 7 64-bit
     s/n:[Personal Information Removed]
    p/n: GP631EA#ABD
I've tried installing some driver packages but none of them helped.
After windows installation finished, and a few times after, the device was marked as not installed in device manager (windows could not find proper drivers to install). When I plugged the sd card in it would say it wasn't formatted, I tried formatting it and recieved an error saying "unable to format", upon checking the device manager I could notice the device was not installed properly. After finding and installing some driver packages (source: hp support site) the message in device manager disappeared, but the device still didn't work, Now even if I uninstalled all drivers the hardware does not appear at all in the device manager. A few times I've experienced serious crashes when trying to install the drivers.
I've tried installing drivers as admin, in compatibility mode, using windows update yet nothing helped.
I've done the steps mentioned above a few times trying different approaches - nothing worked.
I can honestly say that I am at my wits end concerning this issue, and in much need of help! It would be appreciated!

  • Where to install theme n95 8gb

is it better to install in phone memory,or mass memory.does installing application in phone memory, make my phone slow.and does the speed of phone becomes slow if i install many themes and application in either phone or mass memory!
bad can always be made good...it needs that determination!!!

    yes. deadman2444(sorry itz ur name)
Its better to install applications in memory card, and keep phone memory free as much as u can. Its simple like ur PC its alwyas good to fill D: or E: derive rather than C:
In mobile Phone memory fills C: where memory card is E:

  • Problem with N95 8Gb Gallery

I have a quite annoying problem with my N95 8Gb Gallery.
Since last week, when I open the gallery it appears a lot of system files that shouldn't be there instead of only showing my videos and photos. It makes the phone a lot slower and it crashes. It takes a lot of time to select any file.
Is it some kind of system trouble or have I messed up with something i shouldnt?
Thanks for the help and sorry about the writing mistakes

    yes it is very odd!
Well I have tried to just loads 2 images from the laptop onto my mobile. I have tried doing a direct file transfer (mass media) and then also tried through Nokia PC suite-uploaded via the CD rom I was given. On both occasions this has been uncessful to view images from the gallery menu on the phone..crashes!
I think the photos are actually on the phone under the file manager folder I can find them stored here. However on opening the gallery to try and view these files, the phone freezes and I am unable to exit the menu -using the 'back' button have to press the red phone cancel button. Once out of the gallery folder and back to the main screen I can then no longer access and shortcut menus for about 3mins. Very frustrating. The most recent phone I have now, I got 2 days ago-I've not even plugged into my laptop, and when asking a friend to send me images via bluetooth I cannot open this either!! (it comes as a text format from bluetooth) and on opening the phone just freezes again. I try to save this when asked to mass memory and not phone memory.
I can take images on my 'phone camera' but again cannot view as unable to access the gallery-constantly freezes the phone. The images are not a large file just jpeg format for example 45KB another one I tried was much larger 1MB...
I still don't understand why this is happening all the time!!! Many thanks for your help.... (Orange are going to send me a new sim card to try) and see if this helps.

  • Problem with One Touch Access for N95 8GB

    Hi,
I'm having problem connecting my N95 8GB to the Internet via NSeries One Touch Access PC Suite using my Bluetooth. I can connect via cable but bluetooth I cannot.
This is the error message giving me:

Pls help and advise. Tnx in advance.

I found a situation where your error message appears. It is the case when the nokia is connected using the data transfer mode and simultaneously the OneTouch Application is started. Then the device is not recognized by the modem software. The PC Suite mode is required for the OneTouch Application.
In my situation I think I already saw all of the possible error messages described in the documentation during the various experiments.
For example I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers. Unfortunately the driver page of N95 8GB does not include them only the page of N95. This was a step towards success - what concerns the OneTouch Application.
Sometimes it is useful to switch off and on the phone, specially when it is not possible to connect with the modem driver.
In my opinion the possibility of completly uninstalling the Nokia Suite is missing. You can uninstall all parts but after reinstallation the Nokia Phone Browser is no more available, the icon is not displayed. All the software packages are working fine even the modem drivers but not the Phone Browser.

  • N95 8GB cannot view gallery photos/ uploads photos...

    Hiya,
I have had the same problem with my N95 8GB with viewing photos in my gallery!
I have now got my 5th replacement handset (Orange) since August 29th due to various faults and issues. The main one being trying to transfer photos from my PC to my mobile via the Nokia PC Suite or just via USB cable. Both of which when I try to then go into the gallery view on the phone caused it to freeze. Unable to view any images!
This keeps happening, and I have even tried running the 'N series installation disk' and still the same issues. I thought that such a good spec phone with 8GB memory would be able to hand just 2 jpeg images without freezing!
Has anyone else had the same problem or am I just unlucky? I have got up to date anti virus software on my PC, and have tried different images each time. My previous phone (n95) was able to upload and export pics and music to my PC no problems ever!

  • N95 8GB Video Centre Shutting Down

My problem with my N95 8GB, the video centre application automatically closes itself after a few seconds when I open it.
The video centre work fine when it was brand new but as soon as I put my Sim Card in, I started to have problems.
I would really appreciate some help on this issue as it is driving me crazy
    Many thanks,
    s

The workaround is to load a JPG PNG or GIF picture icon (small file 90 KB), named EXACTLY the same as the videos in the My Videos folder where the videos are stored (or where ever the videos from video center are stored)

  • Nokia N95 8Gb Keypad Fault

    Hi All,
I have a Nokia N95 8Gb which has developed a strange keyboard fault..
The number and top plate buttons only work when the slider is virtually closed, with just the *,0 and # keys exposed. If you slide it all the way open, none of the keys work. If you slide it all the way shut, none of the keys work.
I have tried removing the battery for a more than 30 minutes with no success.
I have also carefully taken the phone to pieces and re-seated the ribbon cable plug and it all looks fine. There are no obvious splits or breaks in the ribbon although the phone is quite old and has seen some use! The screen works fine at all times.
I cannot do a hard reset on the phone either by typing the number or power on key sequence as the buttons won't work with the slider open far enough to get to the keys. I have tried operating the phone with the front removed but this was not successful as the slider has to be in the exact position described above otherwise the keys won't work at all. I have however reinstalled the firware (version 35.0.001) and this will have done a reset on completion and this hasn't made any difference.
I have a number of questions:
    1. Has anyone seen this problem on the N95 8Gb please?
    2. Any idea if it is likely to be a brake in the ribbon cable? (I would have expected to see a problem with the screen if this was the case though.
    3. Does anyone know if a fault with the ribbon cable would cause the main number keys to stop working too?
    Thanks!

@Stolly: Reason for this is that this boards are the official Nokia discussion sites provided by Nokia. Taking any phone apart voids the warranty. Warranty voiding topics are no-go here even though your phone is 4 years old.
People come here to seek help from Nokia users and there is a great chance that users believe it's okey and recommended to take their phones apart to fix the issues themselvs after reading posts. - In many cases people will make things worse and void their warranty, so when they eventually need to seek help at a Nokia care point, they will find themselv to be rejectet because their warranty is voided.
    Nokia won't support that.

    thanks for the help

There's some problems with the drivers. Try removing the PC Suite, then go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall 'Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver', 'PC Connectivity Solution' and all of 'Windows Driver Package - Nokia ...' (might get errors here that there's no such installation). Restart. Download the latest PC Suite
    http://europe.nokia.com/link?cid=EDITORIAL_1069381
and install it. Restart once more. Try to connect the phone...

  • Nokia n95 8gb music problem

hey everyone i have the nokia n95 8gb phone and i am starting to have problems deleting and installing new music because i am trying to delete some of the music because it duplicated itself when i installed it the first time what would cause that and when i try to delete the music from the pc hook up or from the phone it just comes up deleting and after an hour nothing please help me figure this out please

If your phone didn't come with pre-installed applications on your phone, you may try formatting the memory card from your phone, and see if that solves the issue.
For the other case, you may wish to backup your memory card contents, and then format it.
I think formatting should resolve the problem.
