Problem installing itunes 11.1.5.5 and three previous versions on Win 8.1 to no avail

Prior to attempting to reinstall the last 3 updates of the 64 bit version of itunes I have killed the temp folder, unistalled all of itunes and quicktime includind deleting the folders.  I have rebooted, downloaded the newest version, ran the installation as Administrator and installed the software only to get a CoreAudioToolbox.dll missing error with a second reinstall itunes error 126.  Then I came across a "fix" that if one found a copy of CoreAudioToolbox on the net and put this with the itunes.exe it would run.  So I tried that.  (I may have these slightly out of order sorry) and continued this process of adding the missing dll to the itunes folder.  At this point it seems the itunes.exe cannot find the following CoreAudioToolbox.dll, CFNetwork.dll, CoreFoundation.dll, CoreGraphics.dll, CoreMedia.dll, QuartzCore.dll, WebKit.dll, libdispatch.dll, libicuin.dll and JavaCoreScript.dll.  Now I do not know if these dlls are 32 bit or 64bit when getting them off the net so that is another area where things could go bad but at least I can see a pattern of numerous dlls that itunes.exe can't find.  Normally these dlls would be located in the sys folder i believe so something in the installation has misdirected the exe file so it cannot find the proper dlls or it has corrupted a whole string of dlls listed above which seems unlikely.  Can someone help me get my itunes running.  Its been down several months now and my wife and I both use itunes for our iPhones and iPad so a catastrophic failure of the software is fatal at many levels.  Thanks

Try Andrei Cerbu's post here or see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, forcing a driver update.

Yes, you should be on Quicktime version 7.7. by now. Have you ever used Software Update?
You can download it from here:

  • Problems installing itunes 11

Whenever I try to install iTunes 11 it comes up 'the installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Error occured during installation. Your system has not been modified. Please run installer again etc' I've been having problems with trying to sync my ipod touch to itunes. I decided to completely delete my iTunes and re-install but this is the message thats came up.

I had problems installing iTunes and the solution that worked for me was to use winrar (or other extracting program) to extract the files from itunes setup.exe. Once extracted you can go into that folder and individually install which software component you need. I spent a couple hours on the phone with tech support with no success until we tried the above. Now everything works great. This should solve your problem.

  • Problem installing itunes on windows 8 64bit. Installation gets stuck on Status: (blank) literally blank

Problem installing itunes on windows 8 64bit. Installation gets stuck on Status: (blank) literally blank. I really need to install this since I have only 1 PC and i just bought the new iPhone 6.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Mobile Device Support entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • TS3212 I get an apple application support error when installing itunes. It says uninstall and re-install.  Does not work.  same message.  What is a solution?

I get an apple application support error when installing itunes. It says uninstall and re-install.  Does not work.  same message.  What is a solution?

Is that an error 2 message?
If so, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Follow these instructions to completely remove Apple software
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Then use free Ccleaner to repeatly repair your registry until it's fixed.
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
    download iTunes again from Apple.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/
If you have 64bit Vista or Windows 7, look for the seperate download of iTunes for that further down the page.
Once installed, use the Apple Software Update under your Start Menu to fully update all Apple components.
Your content will remain on the drive in the Music > iTunes Folder, nothing is deleted.
You should be making backups of your content regularly, either through iTunes or via copying the iTunesFolder in your Music folder to a external drive.

  • Problem installing itunes on xp x64

I need help, I've tried to install itunes 3 or 4 times and everytime it tells me that i should use the 64 bit installer, which i tried and then was told that its only for windows vista 64. but after i stick with the 32 bit installer it comes with an error saying Apple Mobile Device Support requires that your computer is running Windows XP SP2 or newer, and I know for a fact I have windows xp sp2. help please!

Sounds to me its a corrupt file somewhere thats not being deleted when you reinstall. If you have not already tried, uninstall quicktime in the windows control panel under "Add/Remove" then find iTunes on that list, nit "Change/Remove" and on the following screen select "Repair" (This will repair iTunes AND reinstall quicktime).
If that does not work try uninstalling quicktime again and download/install the "Standalone quicktime" here http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html

  • I installed iTunes 10.5.3.3 and now my DVD player won't work.

I installed iTunes 10.5.3.3 and now my DVD player won't work and has this error:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
Any ideas why iTunes renders my DVD drive unusable?  I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and when reinstalling I had my device manager open and saw during the installation how my DVD player went from accessible to not being able to start.
    Why is this happening?
    Here is my computer information:
    Dell
    Latitude D630
Intel Core  Duo CPU T770 @2.40 Hz
    4.00 GB RAM
    32-bit Operating System
    Thank you,
