Problem installing iTunes on Windows XP 64 Bit

I have tried to download & install latest version of iTunes / Quicktime but when I start the install - the error message is 32bit required.
Is there a fix / workaround for this?

I also have WinPro x64 and encounter the same problems as yours. Have you tried iTunes 7.0.1, if so, please let me know. Thanks.

  • TS3212 I get a side-by-side error when trying to install iTunes to Windows 7 64-bit???

When trying to install iTunes to Windows 7 64-bit, I get a side-by-side error. Has anyone else seen this problem and were you able to resolve installing iTunes? If so, how did you resolve it?

    Hi
    Hope you are fine there!
recommend that you attempt to resolve this issue by uninstalling iTunes and QuickTime, and then reinstalling the latest version of each. To do this, first ensure that you are logged in to an Administrator user account on your computer, then follow the instructions in the appropriate article:

I get this complicated error mesage and then the installer rolls back and fails.
I'd like to have a closer look at that error message please.
Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.

    Repair your Apple Sofyware update.

  • How to install itune under Windows XP 64-bit professional with SP2?

I have iPhone 3GS for over a year and I have set it up at my work computer (Windows XP professional) with latest iTune and it work great. Recently our IT has upgraded our system and all of our new machines has Windows XP 64-bit OS.
I can't figure out how to install iTune under Windows XP 64-bit, to synch with my e-mail, contact and calendars any more?
    Can any one help?

New machines? With XP 64-bit? Your IT department is being rather foolish, in my opinion, deploying new installations of XP 64 since Microsoft discontinued mainstream support for it (more than two years ago) and it's never really been satisfactory.
Anyway, there is no version of iTunes that supports the 64-bit version of Windows XP and almost certainly never will be. If you search the iTunes for Windows forums for "XP 64" you'll find threads describing the process some people have used to "crowbar" iTunes onto XP 64, with varying levels of success, none of them complete. Connecting to iPhones is one of the most problematic issues.
    Regards.

  • Problem installing itunes on windows 8 64bit. Installation gets stuck on Status: (blank) literally blank

Problem installing itunes on windows 8 64bit. Installation gets stuck on Status: (blank) literally blank. I really need to install this since I have only 1 PC and i just bought the new iPhone 6.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • How to install iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit ?

    Hello everyone,
I am having a problem installing iTunes on my Windows 7 64-bit system. I never installed it before on my computer. I read many threads before me but I can not solve the problem, so I hope someone kind enough can help me to install iTunes.
The thing is, yesterday I downloaded two installers of iTunes: iTunes64setup.exe (this one is for 64-bit systems I believe?) and iTunesSetup.exe. When I run the iTunesSetup.exe one, it says:
"This iTunes blah blah blah is intended for the 32-bit blah blah. Please download and install the 64-bit one instead."
When I run the iTunes64setup.exe it says:
"The thingy is not a valid win32 application."
I'm confused O_O Thank you for your help c:

When I run the iTunes64setup.exe it says: "The thingy is not a valid win32 application."
That generally indicates that the installer has been getting damaged on the download.
What web browser have you been using for downloading the iTunes64Setup.exe? Does it make any difference if you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa)?
