Problem installing on Windows Vista?

I have the package for adobe photoshop elements 9 and premier pro 9 and can't get photoshop to install. When I place the disc in my computer auto start comes up with options for viewing pictures in different programs but there isn't anything saying "install" or "run" the software. I then went into explorer to view the folders in the disc but i still can't get the installation process to start. Does it matter that I installed premier before photoshop? I don't think It''s a space issue because I should have enough. Help would be much appreciated thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for posting your advice so quickly. However, I tried looking for "setup.exe" or something similar but can't seem to find one at all, and I searched through all the folders. Is it possible there is something wrong with the disc? Or should I download a trial version online and use the code on the back of my package to access the full product instead?

Subject: Problem installing on Windows Vista?
Try looking inside the "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9" folder and double click on Setup.exe to launch the install.

  • Problem Installing with Windows Vista

I have windows Vista and I am trying to install flash player i go to save it then run it and i get a message saying only a single instance of this application can run. I have tried the offline version i have tried to delete all the folders that go with flash player and i still can not get flash player to load on to my computer. is there anyone that could help me out please

I branched this into it's own thread.
I you haven't rebooted yet, reboot your machine and immediately run the installer that you downloaded.  That should solve any issue with an active process keeping Flash Player busy.

Trying to download itunes onto PC installed with windows vista. Download keeps getting to 99% with 1 second remaining and then freezes / does nothing? Any help appreciated.

I solved the problem! The updates orignally were downloaded to the C: drive of the server. I've since moved them to the E: drive and for some reason the Content folder in IIS didn't change the file path to the new WSUScontent folder.
The root cause for this was failing to use the UTILITY designed for this very purpose.
I edited the virtual directory settings in IIS and was able to put the correct path in.
You still need to use the UTILITY.. to fix all the other stuff you're still missing.
    In the %ProgramFiles%\Update Services\Tools folder...
    WSUSUTIL MOVECONTENT E:\WSUS E:\WSUS\MoveContent.LOG -SKIPCOPY
This problem was caused by moving the WSUS updates to a different local drive.
No. This problem was caused by IMPROPERLY moving the WSUS updates to a different local drive.

  • Adobe Reader V9.0 will not install on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

I have Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6001 and tried to install adobe reader V9.0. The download was fine but when I run the program (AdbeRdr90_en_US.exe) it returns the error:
    "NOSSO (R) has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available
    Close program"
So I guess my questions are
    1. Is there a version of adobe reader that will install on windows vista ultimate SP1?
    or
    2. Is there another pdf reader that will work with Vista Ultimate SP1?
Thanks for any and all assistance!!
    Mark

I am getting the exact same error:
I have a brand new HP xw8600 systems with 64 bit Vista Ultimate installed.
Via google I found a suggestion to turn on user account control.
I went to control panel > User Account > Turn User Account Control
checked the box and restarted the system. I ran the install as the administrator. It was a minor improvement. Instead of the error coming up immediately like it was, I got the OS confirmation asking if I wanted to install the program. I got the failure right have selecting "yes"
Running out of clues... any help?

  • Did a fresh install of Windows Vista and Premiere CS5 and now Premiere is buggy!

Hi everyone. I was using Premiere Pro CS5 on my quad core system editing AVCHD clips just fine and then I had to do a fresh install of Windows Vista Home Premium. I then did a fresh install of Premiere Pro CS5 on a separate hard drive and opened up one of my AVCHD projects. Now, for some reason, the same AVCHD projects that played fine before are now jittery and also show blocky artifacts. The jitter seems to be a constant jitter every second and the blocky artifacts seem to happen mostly when the subject in the clip is moving. I know the problem isn't in the original clip from my GH-1 camera because if I play the original clip that is on my hard drive, it plays just fine so, it has to be Premiere CS5 that is causing the clips to play all jerky on the timeline. Can someone please help me solve this problem? One more thing, when I reinstalled Premiere CS5, I installed the latest update from Adobe. I didn't have that update installed before when the clips played fine. Could that update be the culprit? Thanks.
My clips were recorded using a Panasonic GH1 HDSLR camera and are 1080/24p (progressive).

As far as I know, you thought wrong
My 3 hard drives are configured as...
    1 - 320G WD Win7 and all programs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and PPro projects
3 - 1T WD all video files... read and write

If anybody knows how to install sapSprint in Vista machine please let me know.
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi,
Here is the sapsetup.log: It says "Failed to load sapfeikr.dll" - Sap Front End Installation Kernel.
Here the OS type is not recognized by the application. (It is Win Vista OS). In other OS like XP & 2K it is able to identify. Is SapSprint not compatible with Vista OS?

  • Oracle 10g install on Windows Vista Ultimate

Basic question on whether Oracle 10g can be installed on Windows Vista Ultimate. Any link suggesting the same will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Kaz

I have installed Oracle Database 10gR2 Enterprise Edition on Vista Business Premium and run it with no issues.
Suggestion is to download the 'for Vista' version (http://download.oracle.com) and read the install manual (http://tahiti.oracle.com) before installing. The read the Platform Guide for Windows to follow-up management techniques.

  • No audio device installed after windows vista sp2 update

Ok I will try to be as thorough as possible because I want to fix this problem and I hope somebody can help me.
So A few days ago There was an update for my audio driver so I accepted.
But after this update my sound worked but on next use the sound was gone.
So......I used system restore but no help the same thing happened
I went to the hp website to look up my audio driver for my model which was conexant audio 221
After download the driver wouldnt let me install it. I go to check in device manger to install it manually and the sound section is gone literally so i cant reformat or reinstall or anything 0.0
Somebody told me I need to upgrade to windows vista x64 sp2 which was in windows update.
So i tried it and still the same crap
I cant install the sound driver because there is no place in the device manager to install it to
I just get a message saying device installation failed device not found
i dont know what to do
My laptop is a hp dv2700 special edition notebook
Ive had it for a year no problems and this is the first major problem I've had ..............HELP
Past audio driver was conexant : Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver
Ive tried reading through support forums but you have to understand THE SOUND VIDEO GAME CONTROLS SECTION IN DEVICE MANAGER IS GONE
when i go into the programs I find my audio devices which are conexant hd audio and conexant hd audio soft fax modem with smart cp but when I click on them nothing happens

hi, im also exp. the same <text deleted> problem! i also get that error message "quick touch on screen display has stopped working" , lower right corner(volume icon)says"no audio output device is installed", no "video, sound & controllers" on device manager,  i had tried reformatting, multible virus\malware scanners, ive tried multible registry cleaners, DL updated drivers, bios, audio(can't install,no audio device),and ive tried all of these conbinations with or without the windows updates, besides the audio prob, the cd/dvd icon's gone frm My comp, cant use the mic, and or webcam, SMART is detecting a hard disk failure now(iminent 2 fail) <text deleted> !,lol...   ps HP or Microsoft really needs 2 take this into consideration, im tired of this, i will never buy another HP ever!! or windows!, **bleep** it if i have 2 spent another thousand dollars on a Mac,atleast ill get a much decent,"working" pc, that wontstress the **bleep** out of my mind!

  • Quicktime will not install to Windows Vista "could not open key..."

I have been trying to install Quicktime for some time.
Get error message: "Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\9c430...... Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your local support personnel." The installer then rolls back.
I kept trying and was able to install QT, but it would not open. Error messagesaid something about a "side-by-side" configuration.
I am the only user/administrator of this pc. I have tried all troubleshooting steps on this website, including uninstalling all Apple software and all remnants.
I tried all troubleshooting steps. My next step is to re-install Windows.

Doublechecking, Alex. Have you tried the procedures from the following post?

(Although that's about an iTunes install problem on 7 rather than QuickTime install problem on Vista, similar sorts of troubleshooting proicedures can apply in your circumstances too.)

  • Flex Builder 2 - failed install on Windows Vista

I have tried several times to install the trial Flex Builder
2 on Windows Vista. Each time I get an error message referring me
to the error log. The error log is listed below. Note, each time I
do the install, I uninstall the previous install and then delete
    any files or folders remaining.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Wayne

Thank you for your response. Being a newbie to Microsoft
Vista (which I recommend the world to reject) I don't know exactly
how to describe how I got the install of Flex Builder 2 to work.
But, a friend of mine walked me through turning off the Windows
Defender security settings as well as all security settings related
to my user's setting. I believe I disabled two Vista "features",
and then the install worked. The only thing was that the checkboxes
during the install program did not appear, but clicking the
respective questions themselves did the trick (i.e. do you agree to
software license?' and 'install Flash player on IE / Firefox?')
Sorry I can't be more specific... but, for anyone that has
this problem, in the words of my friend, "Turn everything off in
Vista you can, then try it!".
    Good luck,

  • ITunes Won't Install On Windows Vista

    Hi,
About a year ago, I had iTunes on my Windows Vista 32-bit SP2 computer and then I switched to Mac, so I uninstalled iTunes on my Windows Vista computer thinking I wouldn't need it anymore.
Now I want to install iTunes again on it but, I keep getting this error message: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
At this point I really don't know what to do.
    Thanks.

  • CS2 Premium not working after re installing on Windows Vista

I reformatted my computer and re installed CS2 Premium in a new laptop with Windows Vista; however, when trying to open one of the applications such as Photoshop it says "user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid." Adobe does not offer tech support for CS2 anymore so my only hope is your expert information. Thank you.

I got the same problem with my CS2. I recently bought a new computer which is windows vista 64 bit, and I tried to install my old CS2 on it and every program gave me that error message when I tried to run them. I called customer support, and the answer is the same, they dont support CS2 anymore and they expect you to buy their CS4. I mean I spent $$$ on it 2 years ago and you tell me to spend another $$$ to buy it again? This is purely insane.

  • BootCamp will not install in Windows Vista

I installed Windows Vista on my MBP 17" OSX (10.6.4) with no problems. The problem is now when I go to the Vista side, and try to install BootCamp drivers, I get a message saying "Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model". Does any one know what is wrong? Does my Vista need updating? Thanks for any help.
    Joey

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Windows 8 also works, but only with compatible Macs > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US Note that you can also install Windows 8 in non-supported Macs by Apple, but you will not be able to install the Windows support software.
As you have got Mac OS X Snow Leopard and after checking that your Mac supports Windows 8, you need to download the Windows support software from this website > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638
