Problem installing photoshop cs5 in mac

I need to reinstall photoshop cs5, because it was crashing my computer. I downloaded the program, and now this is the message I get: "install" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

You can right click on the Installer and choose Open to bypass the security settings you have set in the system preferences.
Which version of mac os x are you using?

  • I have a problem installing Photoshop CS5

I have a copy of PS CS5 bought as an upgrade over CS3. Unfortunately, the hard drive failed on my PC and I need to reinstall it on the rebuilt PC.
I have and can provide the SNs for both the CS3 and CS5 systems, but the installer then complains that the CS3 product is not installed. Do I actually have to install CS3 first, if I can find the CD for it?

no, you don't need to install cs3 first.
you should start your cs5 installation.  you will be prompted for your cs5 serial number.  the installer will know that's an upgrade serial number and will search your computer for a qualifying product (like cs3).  failing to find one it will prompt you with a list of possible qualifying products (eg, cs3).  select cs3 and you will then be prompted for your cs3 serial number.
enter the correct serial at the correct time and your installation should proceed.

  • Re-installing Photoshop CS5 (Win) on Mac

    Hello,
A few years ago, I purchased Photoshop CS5 Windows Student Edition. I am now trying to install it onto my new mac desktop. Problem number 1: it won't read. Problem #2: I can't find a way to install my already purchased product onto desktop without having to repurchase a second version of it. Since I already own all the entry codes needed and still able to access validation, I was wondering if there's a way to install Photoshop CS5 electronically. Because that's all I'm missing, the installing CD or link. Please... Help

    Won't work.

  • Re-installing Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac)?

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence?  I lost the previous version in a disk crash.  I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.
    Thanks,

Here is the link for the  CS5 installers: Download CS5 products
Be sure to right click and run the installer as an administrator if you have trouble. If it still fails, download the installer again.

Apple provides repeat downloads as a convenience, not a substitute for your computers being the primary source of file transfers.  All your iTunes information such as playlists, ratings, etc. are in a file on your computer, not in the Apple Store.  Typically when you move computers you copy the whole iTunes folder and everything it contains to the new computer.  Moving media files can be done with a drive, or by Home Sharing.  You can also redownload media but let's say somebody desiced Apple may no longer sell a certain album; it cannot be downloaded again but if you already have it on a computer you can move your copy of the file.
5 authorizations:  Some households have multiple computers.  If you want ot use one with an account it has to be authroized.  It means you can use any computer in the house to make purchaes, etc.
Okay, my 5 minute typing limit for any one response is up.

  • Issues installing Photoshop CS5 in my Mac Book Pro

I have heard that there are issues installing Photoshop CS5 in case sensitive Snow Leopard drives. How do I know if I have a case sensitive drive. I was able to download the 30 trial version of Photoshop CS5. My file system is listed as - Journaled HFS+. Is anyone familiar with this issue and will I have this issue installing Photoshop CS5 on my Mac? Thanks.

As you had already downloaded the installer, give it a try. Well if your file system is Journaled HFS+ installer will not report any error related to file system.
To check the file system -
Finder > File > New Finder Window
Select only the volume under Devices for which you wish to get the file system information.
    File > Get Info
    Under General tab check Format:
I believe it would be just "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" in your case. For case-sensitive it would be like -
"Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)" or "Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive)"

  • Problem with Photoshop CS5. Memory and Hard disk space Mac OSX

Just got CS5 Master Suite.  Whenever I open photoshop it takes a ton of memory 1 gig +. When I open  files it takes up more and more until it takes up all my memory and hard  disk space. I open a simple multi layered file that is 25 megs in size  to work on it. Before I know it photoshop is taking 20gigs+ of my hard  disk space along with 3+ gigs of system memory. Is there a memory  problem in photoshop cs5?
    Thanks!
    Joseph
    UPDATE:
So I just opened the 25 meg file  in photoshop cs5 and watched my free space on my hard drive go down 8  gigs the instant I opened it. It went from 27 gigs of freespace to 19  instantly. As I open more files and close others it works till my harddrive goes to zero space... stalls the computer big time. Only way to correct it is to quit photoshop cs5 and wait a few minutes for the space to return... and it takes a few minutes for it all to return.
I am running a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6., 4 gigs of ram on board.
    anyone else having simular problems?

  • Cannot Install Photoshop CS5 [Please Help] :(

I have tried multiple times to install Photoshop CS5; it never works. I have tried using different Internet browsers, with and without the Akamai download application, and by clicking 'Run As Administrator'.
The first time I tried to install Photoshop CS5, I used the Akamai downloader. Because the Akamai application is a writhing piece of garbage, I, of course, came out with an error. I then decided to download the files directly, without the Akamai downloader.
After downloading the files directly, I was certain I would not have any issues. Wrong. Windows found a way to piss me off and gave me an error while extracting the files using PowerArchiver. The error stated that the following:
    "Error writing to a file.
"Possible reasons: Disk full or no write permissions.
"Please check if you have permissions to write to this folder.
    "Vista users:
"In Microsoft Vista, writing to certain folders is not allowed (i.e. C:\Program Files). You will need to start PowerArchiver as Administrator. If you are extracting files you can use drag and drop from PowerArchiver main interface to extract files to that error.
    "Error: 0."
I have checked my hard drive space - I have enough space. I checked the write permissions of the folder I was extracting to - I am permitted to extract the files to that folder. I have tried 'Run As Administrator' in PowerArchiver, and still no success.
Could someone please assist me because I want to use try out Photoshop CS5 until it expires, and I can't do so if Windows wants to screw me over all the time.
    Some Things to Note...
    I am using Windows 7 64-Bit
My computer can handle Photoshop CS5 (I checked)
I have tried using Firefox and Google Chrome
I have tried using the Akamai downloader and not using the Akamai downloader
    I have tried multiple fixes
Windows is trash - I knew I should have bought a Mac...
Thanks in advance I apologize for my sour attitude. I am just really fristrated at the moment.

I feel your frustration, but take heart, Windows 7 is not trash.  You just need to become its master, and doing so requires different machinations and skills than with past versions.
Let me also say that the greener grass on the Mac side is spray paint.  Trust me, I am involved with both.  Windows is more powerful - once you master it.
First, if you're having problems you perceive as the system blocking you from getting what you want done, may I suggest that you may be a candidate for disabling User Account Control.  This is not a decision to be taken lightly - you should fully understand what UAC does for you and why you might want to disable it.
In a nutshell, UAC makes everything you do, even though you may be logged-in with an account that's in the Administrators group, operate as though you are a lowly non-privileged user, and attempts to prompt you with an annoying dialog every time you try to do something that requires Administrator privileges.  I say "attempts" because it doesn't always happen when it needs to.
    I suggest reading further here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control
If you become convinced you'd rather be an Administrator all the time, and are willing to take the risk that software you run from now on will be able to make arbitrary changes to your computer that require Administrator privileges, you can disable UAC; it's really quite simple to do.
To do so, click Start and type UAC into the search box.  When Change User Account Control Settings comes up, click it.  Drag the slider to the bottom, confirm the dialog, then reboot your system.
If you had any problems because of UAC, this will work around them.
    ALL THAT SAID...
I suspect your problems run deeper than just UAC, and possibly disabling UAC won't help you with this specific problem.  You may have permissions issues...
Did you upgrade your operating system from an earlier version?
Was the disk originally formatted or the data put on the disk by another computer?

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS5 Trial

    Hello all.
I'm desperately searching help to install Photoshop CS5 Trial on my PC. I have Windows Seven Ultimate 32 bit, and any time I try to install the regular setup file downloaded via Adobe's site I get an error message. Another strange issue regarding a message displayed in a dialog box during setup: after the "INSTALL TRIAL" selection there is a dialog box displaying the components to install. There is only the Photoshop voice, with a red X, and after the selection a new message appears in the right side of the dialog, warning me that "THE SELECTED COMPONENTS ARE DISABLED".
After the start of installation I got the following message:

    Problem Solved!
I simply checked in the "Add/Remove Programs" panel, discovering a previous CS5 installation (some days ago I've installed CS5 suite trial). Yesterday I have discovered this voice in the panel, uninstalled it and now Photoshop CS5 is perfectly installed and working.
