Problem installing plugins

I am running PS Elements 8 on a MacBook running snow leopard. For past versions of Elements, I have been able to install a Layer mask into the Effects palette.
The organization of this new version has made it impossible to follow the original path to do this:
Library/Application Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/6.0/Photo Creations/Photo Effects
I have been instructed to follow these directions but expecting to change 6.0 to 8.0
Can someone explain the change in organization and how I can do this?

You don't have to do anything special. They just mean find the same folders under PSE 8.0 in that folder that you used for PSE 6.0. The structure is the same--you just want to put them in the PSE 8 versions instead of the PSE 6 versions.
So instead of starting from Application Support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>6.0, you start from Application Support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>8.0.

Hi, after installing Adobe CC I tried opening Adobe Photoshop. This failed.
I get the opening window where it says installing plugins searching etc, after which PS opens in full screen.
Just moments after that there's a failure warning, no code number, only the warning that PS failed to open and PS will close.
I tried downloading it for a second time, but this did'nt solve the problem.
Befor the CC version I used a one year student version of Adobe CS6.
What can I do?

Regarding the Flash Player problem, disable Hardware Acceleration to circumvent driver incompatibilities.
Regarding the Flash Pro installation problems, post in the Flash forums or http://forums.adobe.com/community/download_install_setup

Problem installing HP Printer driver hplip-3.10.9

I am trying to install the printer driver for my HP Laserjet p1102w (hplip-3.10.9.run). The program starts then stops with the error "TabError: inconsistent use of tabs and spaces in indentatiion". I did some research, but it could not resolve the issue. I think it has something to do with the way python handles tabs?? I did not have any problem installing this on my Fedora 13 desktop. Not sure how to proceed.

HPCupsFilter.cpp:413.
In fact, looking around, there are *loads* of newlines missed from dbglog()

At this point not sure what to try next

Having problems installing the new flash player

As the title say im having great problems installing the new flash player. I have downloaded it many times and tried installing each time, still nothing. Ive tried installing it offline with my computer totally disconnected from the internet, nothing. Each time i try and install it, it goes through 2 windows (one saying if i want to run it, and one asking for permission) and after they disappear, the icon also disappears strangely =S. I checked it on task manager and it is just sitting there doing nothing. Please help.

Problem installing Flash to Safari

I have problem installing the Flash Player Plugin to safari
or the google browser. A message popsup while installing "You do
not have sufficient disk space to complet this installation. Please

I can't seem to install plugins. I know that you have to go to: Movies>Motion Templates>Effects. But the problem is that there isn't anything in my Motion Templates folder. Please help me as I kinda need the plugins to be installed.

You haven't installed Motion (you don't need to) or installed templates before... It's not a big issue.
Whatever you lack, you can create. Inside the Motion Templates folder, create the folders: Effects, Generators, Titles, Transitions (make sure they're spelled correctly and case sensitive.)
For Templates to work, they must be installed inside "Categories" which are just another "layer" of folder. You can invent these as well. Try to name your categories something that will help you find the template you're installing. (Categories go inside the main effects folders listed above.)
After you create a category, move the entire effect folder into the category. These template folders contain a Motion file (.moef, .motn, .moti or .motr), two .pngs ("large.png and small.png) and optional .mov file and a Media folder. If any of the required files are missing, the template is likely not to work.
After you place the template in its destination folder, go into FCPX and try it out. If you cannot find it, there's one more step:
The Motion Templates folder and the Effects, Generators, Titles and Transitions folders require a .localized extention. You ADD the extension from each folder's Get Info dialog in the Name & Extension textbox:
Go back into FCPX and find the template...
The reason I laid the extension addition out as a separate step is that some people report that they do not have this issue. (I'm fairly sure, since 10.0.6, that the extensions are required though.) No other level of folder requires to be .localized.

Do you mean plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) like Flash that handle files or Firefox extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that add extra features to Firefox?

Problem installing Java Applications

Hi there, i have problems installing Java Applications (from Ovi and from another source). The Apps from stores quit with just "there was a error", the other App is more detailed:

Having problem installing adobe flash player 11.0.1.152 says close mozilla how do you do this

I have tried several times to install Adobe flash player 11.0.1.152. It keeps stating to shut off Mozilla. How do you shut Mozilla off?

"Ctrl+Shift+Esc" placing you into the Windows Task Manager, you need to be in the in the "Processes" tab to make sure that firefox.exe is no longer running -- if it is running then terminate it by selecting the use "End Process" button or from context menu. (That is a Windows 7 keyboard shortcut not in earlier versions of Windows)
There is a better way of ending Firefox, but it is too late for you to close firefox properly. Full set of directions to check and update flash.

Browser does not detect the installed plugin, keeps asking to download it again and again. I do not have this problem with Firefox 3.6.

This can happen when the server does not correctly identify the content as the type of content handled by that plugin. If you type '''about:plugins''' in the location bar and press Enter, you can view the configuration page and see the types of content that are registered to be handled by the Juniper plugin.

Problems installing downloaded applications

I am having problems installing downloaded applications. After I download an application, I can see it in my "downloads" folder. When I double click it, instead of finding the package, I am taken directly to my "terminal" screen, and then cannot install. Is there a setting that is the problem, and if so, how can I correct it? I have read the post above but cannot really follow the advice & it doesn't seem to help me. I have downloaded two applications which do not load; (1) a plugin for Photoshop & (2) some Nokia sync software for my phone. I can see the downloads, but with (1) - which is a .dmg file - when I click on it, it does nothing; doesn't open or install anything. With (2), it tells me it is downloading to 'Macintosh HD'; but when I look on the HD I cannot see it anywhere.

Unfortunately Flash is installed in different ways on different browsers. I have the whole CS suite, so it might be possible there is no Flash player installer in the basic DW installation. What you need to do is as DW is telling you and download the Flash Player to install. IE uses ActiveX to install Flash and Chrome has it's own and Google updates the Flash player with its browser which may not directly correspond to the Adobe updates.
If you go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ in IE click on the "Different Operating System or Browser?" link at the top. Click on your operating system which I will assume is Windows because the Mac only has one installer and you don't strike me as a Linux or Solaris user. Then select "Flash Player 10.3 For Windows - Other Browsers". Run the installer and you will be good to go.

Problem Installing EM Cloud control 12c in Win Server 2008

I having problem installing the EM in win server 2008 64bits. I already installed java run time but when i click on the setup.exe in the disk 1 after unzip it does not show the installation wizard and any error message. Did i miss out something? do i need to create the user group and user as stated in the installation guide as stated in this link Installing Enterprise Manager System - 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1)?

Hi, can you open an SR for this issue and share the number. Lets check few basic things:
a) can you make sure that all the zips are downloaded from OTN have correct byte and checksum information
b) Can you make sure that you unzipped all these zips files in a single folder ?
c) After unzipping can you check if you have following folders created ( not these folder are for linux but they will be same on windows) -
install      libskgxn      plugins     response     stage     WT.zip
jdk     oms     runInstaller      wls
d) Can you invoke setup.exe -debug
then look at the logs from -
C:\Users\aime\AppData\LocalTemp\2\OraInstall2013-07-09_04-10-59AM   ( for windows it will be orInstaller.err and log )
You donot need any user group or any thing created.

Can't see installed plugins list in Safari-it shows blank

I have internet plugins at the folders where they should be, namely in
~/Library/Internet Plugins (for user specific internet plugins) &
/Library/Internet Plugins (system wide)
However, when I use Safari's Help>Installed Plug Ins menu item the page/screen opens but nothing is listed. Not one of the plugins that are verified to be present in the above 2 folders are listed and the Safari installed plugins tab/screen/page will just be blank.
If i try to run Flash objects in Safari, I get an error message to install Flash BUT flashplayer.plugin and flashplayer.xpt are present in the plugins folder(s). Flash player's pref is also available in System Prefs. I haven't been able to check if Safari behaves the same way for the other plugins (even if they are installed), but to reiterate the installed plugins menu item in safari comes up blank, so I would guess none of the plugins are being recognized.
Actions taken till now:
Restart Safari (several times)
Reinstall Flash
Restart Macbook
Repair Permissions
Hope someone can throw some light on this...

Not sure exactly why you got this issue, but one possible solution (solution to lots of problems) .....
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0. Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
