Problem installing shockwave games

Hey all -
I am really really new to using a Mac. I have always enjoyed playing installed games from Shockwave on my PC and have a Shockwave unlimited account. I can not figure out how to install a game on my MacBook Pro. I have installed Adobe Flash and Adobe Shockwave 11 as suggested by shockwave. I download the game (I've tried a few to make sure it wasn't a particular game) it gives me this message - "...is a Windows application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" it gives me the options of "Show Web Page", "Cancel" & "Open". I click "Open" and it brings up a textedit screen full of programming stuff (alien to me). How do I get the game to install on my MacBook??

Sockwave responded - they do not support Mac install games. PC only for installing games.

Director Player error- shockwave games

I want to play shockwave games but I am getting an error saying "application requires extra (havoc Physics Scene) that either does not exist or failed to initialize. Please make sure the appropriate Xtras are in the Xtras folders.
I have uninstalled, and re installed the lated version of shockwave which was supposed to be workable on safari.

Hi, I have a weird problem when I start up Pacific Fighters and Chronicles of Riddick.
The thing is, the game takes at least 15 minutes to open and when using the Caps Lock key, the green button on the keyboard takes quite some time to enlighten because the PC lags badly, so is the sound. In PF, the music is terribly affected when this bug occurs.
This happens about the 1/5 of the time I try to boot the game and the only ways to fix the problem is to:
1) Simply restart the computer;
2) Set the computer to sleep mode and then, come back to the game.
All of my games and my drivers are up to date and something important I'd like you to know is:
When the game boots normally, I can play easily up to 3 hours without any problem. Right now, I have about 15 games installed on my PC. Just to numerate a few, I have Far Cry, Half-Life 2 and never encountered any problem with these games.
On the other hand, Battlefield 2, when trying to connect to the server, will freeze and then again, the Caps Lock light on my keyboard will have problem to open (So that shows that the PC lags a lot) and then, it will de-freeze and the game says that I was disconnected from the server (That's quite normal, I've been inactive for 30 seconds). Yet, after returning to the game, the PC isn't completly in its original shape as when using the Teamspeak program, I can hear the others talking but their voice is quite sluggish and skipped every 5 seconds. The sound does the exact same thing in Pacific Fighters when it freezes (It goes mostly as follow: Clack clack clack clack, you know what I mean?)
If someone, please, knows why I have this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have above 15 000pts in 3Dmarks 03 and my global performance on my PC is very good, except for this annoying bug.
In BF2, I didn't encounter any problem before, so I don't understand...

When i try to install a game on windows 8.1 enterprise, the setup menu shows up for about 30 seconds the closes

yes all these games are original and the only reason i believe it might be my windows is due the fact the games worked fine before i updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1 and all the games work fine on my laptop

System not suitable to install some games

hey im a relative novice, but had no problem when i bought my laptop satellite pro a40 back in october last year. over the past few months i ve had the problem that some games cannot be installed as the message:
'16 bit windows subsystem: the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications' pops up. the odd thing is that some games it allows me to run off the disk but obviously i cant save them, and games that i could previously install it now doesnt allow me.
the games attempted include: x-beyond the frontier, fifa road to world cup 98, sid meiers civ 2 and tachyon the fringe. so a selection of old and new...
any help would be much appreciated. thanks

Problems Installing Software on a Mac that is both Win and Mac compatible

I am new to Mac. My kids have a bunch of games and some educational software on CD ROM. The software case's say the CDROM is compatible with both Windows and Mac. I have not had a problem installing them on my old PC but cant get either my iMac or Macbook to install the software.

Check the exact version requirements on the box. Make sure it says OS X. If it only supports OS 9, then it won't work on Intel Macs (e.g. your MacBook and 2006 iMacs).
Also, there are a few bizarrely-designed games that are OS X compatible, but the installer runs in OS 9. If that's the case, you'd need to install it on a PowerPC Mac, then copy the game folder onto your Intel Mac (using flash drive, CD, file sharing, etc)

10, i get the following error message...
the error says:
"Could not load DLL library
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Shockwave10\gi.dll. This

Shockwave Player, available from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp

Problems installing flash player. Learner

I am experienceing problems installing flash player. I go to the adobe website and install the program and I am told it has been successfully installed. No flash player icon apppears on my desktop. When I press the windows start icon and click on "all programs" there is no evidence of the flash player. However when I click on" my computer" icon and go into uninstall/change the flash player program is there.I have spent quite some time installing, uninstalling and installing again without success
I am using windows Vista. I am also using Kaspsersky Internet security. It is a private computetr so I do not think I need administrators permission. I have tried installing flash player using both interner explorer and Mozilla firefox.Please can anyone help. Many thanks.

Shane, since you must be having problems getting a thread started, I'll just go ahead and try to help you here.
Use IE and go to Help and click on About Internet Explorer. It should tell you sp1 or sp2.
Also using IE, go to Tools, click on Manage add ons and look in all add ons for Shockwave Flash Object. Let me know if it is Enabled and if it is version 10.0.45.2 or says Flash10e.ocx.
Then switch over to FF (Firefox) and find the plug-in SWF version 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is listed and Enabled.
Post this info back to me.

Problem installing multi-disc software

I've got a 15" Macbook Pro running Leopard (10.5.2) and Bootcamp with Windows XP. I use the windows partition primarily for PC games. Games that have a single disk (e.g., Half-Life) install and run just fine. I am having trouble installing games that come on more than one disc though (e.g., Call of Duty). I put Disc 1 in and the installation begins. It then asks me to eject Disc 1, put in Disc 2 and hit "OK". I do this and the installation hangs. If I go to the Windows task manager it says the Installation program is "not responding". This has been a problem with multiple games.
I got around this problem with one game by copying the entire contents of the 2nd CD to the hard drive and then directing the installation program to the files. But with Call of Duty it doesn't give me and option to tell it where the files are, it just says hit "OK" so I don't think this same approach will work.

Autorun.exe is a Windows/PC executable, not a Mac OS X file. You cannot run .exe files in Mac OS X.
Generally the installer will ask for any additional discs required. If none were requested during the normal installation, then the other discs aren't required for the Mac installation. This should all be explained in the installation or user guide that came with the software. However, if you feel you are having an installation problem then you need to contact the software developer for assistance. These discussions do not provide support for third-party products.

Problems installing Mac OS X 10.5.7

I know next to nothing about Mac's so any help would be much appreciated.
I recently purchased a copy of SIMS 3.
Initially, It wouldn't let me install the game unless I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5.3
I downloaded this and installed in without any problems. I then installed the game, but it said that in order for everything to run at optimum efficiency- I needed Mac OS X 10.5.7
I proceeded without installing the update but about 30 mins into playing the game crashed- so I thought it would be prudent to go ahead and get the latest version.
I downloaded it, however when I go to install it- I get the following message:
You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.
Can someone PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!! This is starting to do my head in!!! : )

1. Using the game disk uninstall the game.
2. Go to Applications Utilities and open Disk Utility then select the Macintosh HD and Repair Disk Permissions. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1452
3. Open the link below, download and install the 10.5.7 Combo update:

4. Rerun Repair Permissions in step 2. again.
5. Now install the game.

Problems installing new flash player

im having problems installing the latest flash player. the
first time i tried my internet protector blocked me and i pressed
deny by mistake, i restarted my computor and tried again but this
time nothing happens, and thats it, i cant download the

I'm having the same problem. I go to update my Adobe Flash
Player @ the web address:

Won't install downloaded games

when I try to download games horror ones on my hp 655 laptop 19" it gives error or says something like unable to install when all I want to do is install, download 3 games called five nights at freddy's 1,2,3 if can help that would be aprisheated

Make sure you are logged in as administrator.
Then click on start -control panel - Users - Click on "Change user account control settings" and scroll the bar all the way to the bottom to never notify. Then click ok and restart the unit.
Then try to download and install the game and check for the result.

Can not install shockwave at all! Please help going nuts with this.

This whole thing started when I went to shockwave.com and wanted to play some of their games. It saidI needed to install shockwave. I uninstalled an old version as recommended then installed a new one. Well I should say tried to! I get a screen that asks permission to d/l I told it ok twice then I get nothing ..... nothing happens it looks like it's going to d/l but nothing. I think well maybe something is there and go look to uninstall again but there is nothing there for shockwave. I have flashplayer working fine but can't d/l shockwave.. weird... can someone plz help? I don't have $39 to tech help on here. Thank you for your time!
