I have installed the sp2 in my machine (Win 2000 Pro) and i hadn't any
trouble, but when I try to install it in the server (Win NT) I only can view
the Anyware welcome screen, and I press "NEXT" button but there is no
response, at last "DONE" button is available, but no sp2 are instaled.
Any idea?

Problem installing drivers for on-board Realtek sound

Using Neo2
I keep getting the following error when Windows XP tries to install the driver:
"Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware:
Realtek AC'97 Audio
An error occurred during the installation of this device
The data is invalid"
I've tried all the usual stuff of ensuring that the software is installed prior to the PnP wizard. I've even tried installing the NT4 (non-PnP) drivers (which installed ok and appeared to work, except that the sound device wasn't recognised).
I've tried the latest patch to no avail. Is my H/W knackered?
Any input gratefully received.

-Motherboard type and model - MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (939)
-Bios type and revision (AMI rev 1.9) - Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Version : Nvidia - 42302e31
-CPU type and model - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ (939)
-Memory name, model and quantity - not sure but 3200, 2x512Mb Generic. Seems stable
-Video card name and model plus drivers and version - Hercules 3D Prophet 9600/9600Pro Series (SE) Driver Version : 5.2.3790.2
-Power Supply name, model and the amp rating for the +3.3V, +5V and +12V lines plus any limitation on the +3.3/+5V combined watts. This information can be found on a sticker on the side of the supply. - sorry but I haven't got the time to open the case up. It's a decent 400W jobbie. I've previously checked the various voltages and they seem OK.

Problem installing ODAC for Oracle Server 11g

I have installed Oracle Server 11g (OS:Windows XP)
Questions:
1. I tried installing ODAC for Oracle Server 11.1.0.6.21, then its giving the following error message: "Oracle data access components can only be installed over an existing oracle server 11g".
2. We have a Monorail application running on NHibernate using ODP.NET. It's working perfectly when I run it on my Visual Studio 2008.
But, when I tried to host this application, it gave me the following error message: "The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client"
Please suggest how to resolve these issues.

Could that be related to the %ORACLE_HOME% ?
I've read that on the ODAC installation guide:
On a machine without Visual Studio .NET 2003 installed, ODAC products now work if they are installed in a new Oracle Home
So it should be performed in a new %ORACLE_HOME% and not the same as the database. Please change that and retry.

If your ODP.NET installation is still not working, you may be running into this problem.

Problems installing Toolkit for CreateJS

I’m trying to install Toolkit for CreateJS 1.2 for Flash CC. When I use Extension manager CC, I get an error that says extension cannot be installed, it requires Flash version 12 (CS6). I can only download Flash CC not Flash CS6. How can I get Toolkit for CreateJS for Flash CC or how can I download Flash CS6?

Problems installing Python for S60 v2.0

When I try to install Python for S60 v2.0 (from the program update on the phone) I get this error:

Python is not an app, it's an operating programme, like Flash or Java, you won't get an icon. By the way, why do you want Python ? I have it and it makes a novelty Beer programme fill screen then empty when tilted ! Only bothered with it because I have a mate who thought his fruit based product was the best thing since sliced bread, worry about Python if you find something you really want that requires it to work !

Problems installing Skype for Windows Desktop on my 8.2 system

My Windows 8.1 computer is telling me the Skype app has changed so I must uninstall and re-install Skype for Windows Desktop. I duly did this but I cannot access Skype, it won't accept my Skype name and password combination. Three times I have gone through the process to change my password, which takes me through the process of changing my Microsoft account password because I had to create one when I bought my computer and link absolutely everything to it. This still doesn't solve the issue and I have now reached the end of my tether with Windows 8.1. Problems installing iTunes for windows

Hi,
Just bought a lovely 30Gb black ipod video...however i cannot seem to install iTunes. The route of the issue seems to be that I have Sonic Record Now cd burning software installed already on my machine (straight from the shop).
When uploading for the first time using both the disc and from apple.com I got an error messages that said I had a conflict within the registry, something to do with my previously installed CD burning software - please re-install iTunes. When i removed iTunes my CD drive disappears and i have to do a system restore.
I have tried this a few times with no success - so decided to try and remove the Sonic Record Now programme...when i used the disc after this I just got a standard error message "iTunes has encountered a problem and has to close"....
I have not yet managed to download from apple.com again because i don't have internet at home...but I would imagine that i'll simply get the second error message again as above - i am really getting frustrated.
I gather its not an isolated problem - and have seen a few solutions but all of these seem to depend on a successful download of iTunes from apple.com - something that i can't yet do because of the registry conflict.
any ideas?

Licensing problems installing JDriver for MS SQL Server

I've been having problems for some time now creating a connection pool in WL 5.1 using the MS SQLServer4v70 JDriver. I am at wits end and haven't been able to find a solution or find anybody that could give me a solution. Below is a better description of the problem including exact error messages and configuration.

Currently nothing related to the driver is in my classpath and
c:\weblogic\mssqlserver4v70\classes is in my weblogic classpath. I deleted
the license folder for the driver after moving the guts of it into the main
weblogic license file.

You did the right thing adding the driver to the weblogic.class.path.
That's where it should be, not in the java.class.path. The current
licensing issue is that the weblogic server has(had?) it's own copy of
WebLogicLicense.xml, containing the server licenses. The one from thedriver
is now in the path. It contains the driver license, but not the server
stuff. Edit the server one, adding the guts of the driver one, and
delete the driver xml license file from your path.

The connection object has to be a method variable to be safe from multithreading
issues.

Issue Installing SP2 for Windows Server 2008 SP1

Hello, I have a very annoying issue, and I hope someone can help a bro out.
Server: Windows Server 2008 SP1 64-bit
Issue: SP2 wont install on Windows Server 2008 SP1
This is what I am seeing when I check the event viewer:
1. (Information) Windows Servicing is setting package KB948465(Service Pack) state to Staging(Staging)
2. (Error) Windows Servicing failed to complete the process of changing update 948465-382_neutral_GDR from package KB948465(Service Pack) into Staging(Staging) state
I have no idea why this is coming up, nor why the server cant fix the issue, but now I am forced to deal with it. So if anyone has any helpful tips it would be greatly appreciated.
What I have done so far:
I have downloaded the standalone SP2 file from microsoft, and tried to install, still failed. Just sent me to the prereq page, which is pretty useless considering the fact I already have SP1 installed, and nothing new has changed physically or digitally
in the system.
Also, although not a huge issue, I also have a security update that is failing, basically with the same issue as the SP. Below is its Error event log.
(Error) Windows Servicing failed to complete the process of changing update 974318-11_neutral_LDR from package KB974318(Security Update) into Staging(Staging) state
Im hoping that upon discovering the SP issue, I can resolve the security update issue, as the errors have the same issue(failed to complete staging state).Thank you for your time.

Problems installing license for V7 - registration host != license host

Hello All,
I am currently trying to install the license key for a V7 Redwood installation on my PC.
(Windows XP, Oracle XE 10g, Redwood V7.0.3)
When I install the license key through the config program it appears to work, but when I check the config.log it says "Registered without licenses.". I was wondering if this was to do with the registration host and the license host being seen as a different machine by the config tool? They are the same host, but the license host refers to the machine using the fqdn.
The register.txt file contained the following lines
On license host:    N
Registration host: mypchostname
License host:        mypchostname.mydomain.corp
Database host:     mypchostname
"show license" from within Redwood Shell gives the same "Registered without licenses" text.
When I try and connect (just in case) from Redwood Explorer it says "No Redwood license installed".
Anybody else encountered (and solved) this problem?

Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately I haven't received a new license key yet to try installing the license through RS, but I realised why I was getting the following error when I'd tried to set the license host before - the jcs_listener wasn't running!
RS> set license host mypchostname
JCS-00502: OS error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
JCS-00342: could not open socket to Network Agent on host mypchostname, port 1529
JCS-00332: cannot obtain hardware ID
After starting the jsclistener it happily allows me to set the license host however when I try the register force command the resulting register.txt file still has the fqdn. I'm going to try and temporarily disable some of the DNS settings on my pc to see if I can stop it performing a lookup when creating the register.txt file.

Problem installing realplayer for radio listening

Hi everyone. I'm trying to help my mum to listen to bbc radio programmes on her mac. I'm not an expert by any means, but have downloaded the realplayer system onto her computer. The download goes okay, and the logo appears on the computer menu, but once we have opened a radio programme for bbc radio 4 and try to commence listening, a window pops up saying that realplayer has to be downloaded first. I don't know what I am doing wrong. If anyone could explain a method of getting realplayer to work, or any other way to listen to radio programmes on the mac, my mum and I would be grateful. As I say, I am not an expert,so if any explanations could be in very simple terms, that would be great. Many thanks.

Apologies for taking so long to reply - i am over at my mum's again for the first time since posting the original message. In answer to the queries in your message:
1) The version of the Mac is, in fact, 10.2. I have tried, as you suggest, to update via the appropriate tools on the Mac to a higher version but no success - the software update doesn't contain any options. Is t here any way forward on that?
2) The browser is Safari - I haven't as yet quit the browser (does that mean using another browser to open the internet to access the realplayer download tools?) and tried to instal realplayer, but will proceed to do that.
3) The realplayer logo is on the desktop under the name realplayer, but I have checked and it is not in the Applications folder. Is that an error, meaning that it won't work? How does one install it into the applications folder if that is necessary?
I hope this is clear enough. Any further advice/suggestions/help would be much appreciated on the problem of getting to listen to radio programmes vis the Mac.

Problems installing drivers for my pretty old soundcard. (Thread detailed).

Hello, my friends audio card for some reason stopped to work, so I gave him my old card. Unfortunately, I have lost my CD.
(And yes, I have read the sticky thread Sound Blaster FAQ).
Here is what I did:
Wrote all information that might get useful from card to PC, result:

The bolded like "CT4830" seem to be the only useful word I managed to get from my card.
Then it was searching, a lot of googling, a lot of sites trying to offer their perfect "driver scanner", if I searched for etc EMU0k, scamming and virus sites would automatic manage to track the exact component I was looking for. While creative.com wasn't even top 50.
Back to point: I went on creative.com, I personally think it is a very messy site, I click on support, download, and I see a list of products, I choose Sound Blaster, and I get a few models to pick from.
Now here I was stuck for a long time, I could not find my model there, it was only those new "awesome" models, so I had to find a little, almost impossible noticeable link at the bottow "cant find your model, click here" something like that. With small letters. NOT VERY USERFRIENDLY!
And then I get to a list, I know, I have model CT4830, and I know "Audigy" is written on the card. But I could not find it in any of the audigy categories, some categories was missing images, so this was also a very tricky part.
Then I found a list which could help me get the full name of my audio card, and I managed to catch up that CT4830 for some reason has the full name "Sound Blaster Li've! Value/Player Compaq /Intel/IBM/NEc"
And this helped me a little (I think), since I had to look in the Li've category, even though it also was Audigy, it was not stated in the full name of the card.
Now I found the most similar thing in "li've" category, called "Sound Blaster li've! Value". Nothing about compaq, intel IBM or nec or anything like that, just Sound blaster li've! Value.
I downloaded the driver, released in 2003, I had an option to go for 2005 64bit XP driver, or 2003 driver (no OS mentioned in describtion), I assume the driver was for 32bit, since there was already another newer stated driver for 64bit.
I managed to install this driver, it runs fine, no error messages occurs in the installation.
It asks me to reboot, and I reboot, and on next startup, still nothing happens.
So after all this research, what have I done wrong? Wrong driver? Which is the correct driver? Where can I download it's

O You can find some of the original installation CDs in ISO form on Badboy's FileFront site. I believe this one is for your SB Li've value card as well as for some Audigy cards. These are for WinXP and older OSs.

HT1926 Problem Installing iTunes for Windows 7

I get the message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start when trying to instal. 'Verify you have sufficient priviledges to stsrt system.
Options given are Abort, Retry or Ignore.
Both Retry or Ignore give error message 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 14001).
iTunes will not open.
Please help !

Sorry to hear that iTunes is not installing on your computer. I found a couple of articles I think may help with the error messages you are seeing.
I recommend starting with these steps:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and AMDS
If the issue continues after restarting AMDS, then you'll need to remove and reinstall AMDS and iTunes.
Completely uninstall AMDS, iTunes, and all Apple software. Click the appropriate links below for steps:
Windows XP
Windows Vista or Windows 7
Restart the computer.
Download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes. Installing iTunes will also install AMDS.
Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and connect the device. It should be recognized properly in Windows.
