Problem installing Trial CS5 Photoshop

I am a CS4 user and I am interested in the content aware aspect of the new program. I decided to download the trial and look around at it. It downloaded and I installed it fine but I noticed all my raw files (and sidecars) were mising from Lightroom2. So I looked and they were gone. Just totally gone. I did a system restore to no avail. I really don't think that installing this trial software made my files go away and I will be able to locate most if not all the lost files but now, after the restore I have tried to re download and install the trial software but I get the Akamai donwload page and it says waiting. Just waiting. Any thoughts as to why it won't let me download the software?

My guess would be that either the download file is unavail right now, or something is blocking it from your side.
What browser are you using? If your not using the IE (Internex Explorer) then try with that one, since most websites are developed for that browser.
Also you can try to turn off your firewall when you download this file, and do not forget to turn it back on once you've downloaded the file.
If none of the above works, please notify exactly where you are trying to download, exactly what and for what OS (Operating System).

people keep telling me that my problem is my computer doesn't meet the system requirements but I have checked them and it does.
Also my sister has the exact same computer and she had no problem installing it.

Perhaps it doesn't, after all? I'm sorry to say so, but just saying that your computer meets the specs when we don't know what they exactly are is not useful in any way. Please provide the full specs and hardware details.

Why does this happen? Do you really cancel the installation or is this a potential external issue? If the Microsoft installer is cancelling itself (it is a separate pop-up panel in teh main install), then this would be further indication that something is wrong with your computer in the first place and it doesn't qualify...

Problem installing illustrator cs5 trial

I have downloaded the trial cs5 but when i try to install it i get the following error message. I use vista.

Problem solved - SIMPLE and QUICK solution
I too had similar problems installing Illustrator CS5. It just wouldn't complete the installation. Everything else in the CS5 collection installed fine. I looked around on the internet. Assuming that most people's installation problems originate from the same cause—registry errors, then scanning the registry for errors and correcting them first before rerunning the install should solve the problem. Which is exactly what I did and it worked like a charm.
Once you figure out what the problem is, how to fix it and get the right tools, the rest is easy. This is what I did. It took only a matter of minutes:
I use CCleaner (stands for Crap Cleaner, it's top-notch freeware I've been using for years, I can't recommend it highly enough!) to run a registry scan first. Sure enough, it identified at least one error with Illustrator. I scanned and fixed the errors in a couple of mouse clicks, took seconds.
I then run the CS5 installer again for Illustrator. Miraculously, it installed without a hitch!

Problems with Adobe CS5 Photoshop since Help Desk install

i downloaded the CS5 Photoshop upgrade and attempted to install. It would not install so i contacted the help desk about 2 weeks ago. The help desk rep signed into my mac and after about an hour or so was able to complete the install of Photoshop.
However, now when i try to add plug ins, i get an error message with the plugin installed (tried 3 different ones) saying that I do not have Photoshop installed.
Went to online chat and they told me to call 800 number,
Called 800 number and cued myself for a call back. Ryan called me back took all my information and then the line was disconnected. He took my callback number but never did call back.
Called 800 number a second time, qued myself for a call back. Adobe called me back, i waited 10 minutes with music, the music stopped and someone was on the line, but they disconnected the call.
Now on 3rd call back with a 40 minute wait. and i am waiting until someone answers

Problems installing Phototshop CS5 on Win7 with previous Creative suite 4

I have Creative Suite 4 installed but only want to upgrade to CS5 Photoshop. Would like to deactivate CS4 Photoshop only, but appears you have to deactivate the whole suite.So left the Suite intact before installing lastest version of Photoshop.
Installed CS5 Photoshop (trial version) and appeared to load ok but had these errors at the end:

It appears to work, but do these error messages mean it is not installed correctly? Am I am still on the long road to recovery?

There is no upgrade to just PS CS5 from Creative Suite 4.
Did you install PS CS5 trial in the Admin mode? When you downloaded the trial there should have been a folder on your desk top with 2 files in it. Right click on the .exe file in that folder and choose run as Admin. Another folder will show up on your desktop. This folder will have extracted files in it. Look for the Photoshop install .exe file, right click on that and choose install as Admin so the install will get the correct security levels for install. When the screen pops up choose 30 day trial.
Now, the first time you run Photoshop you need to Right click on the PS Icon, 64 bit or 32 bit, Choose properties, Compatibility tab and again put a check mark in run as Admin. Hit apply then Ok to close. Run PS CS5
Not sure what the errors are about. But it may be working ok or it may not be. Don't know.
Just remember you can not upgrade just to PS CS5. You have to upgrade the Suite.

Problem installing trial version of After Effects CS4

Hi,
I'm trying to install the trial version of After Effects CS4 on Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1 32-bit Operating System, Processor 2.4GHz, RAM 4GB.
At the initializing stage it gets to 90% on the 'Checking System Profile...' dialog box, something flashes and then it freezes.
I've downloaded it a second time in case of corruption.
I've rebooted several times and retried it with no other applications running.
I've run updates on any existing adobe products I have.
Any ideas? I've never had problems installing adobe products before.

Not your fault, known issue.
a) Download the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility and install it
b) Download the CS4 Cleanup Utility from Adobe's support pages
c) Run the CS4 Cleanup, electing to remove all debris from your failed install
d) Manually uninstall all instances of Adobe AIR products (Acrobat.com, Adobe Media Palyer) using Add or Remove Programs
e) Launch the Microsoft Installer Cleanup and look for instances of Adobe Installer 2.0. Have them removed. Optionally, have it remove other Adobe stuff that may have been left over from CS4.
f) Try to install CS4
Note: The cleanup utilities will not remove anything physically, only clean out the installer, so they pose no danger to your system. You will only lose the ability to uninstall those programs from Add or Remove Programs.

On which OS are you trying to install PS CS5.1?
Adobe Bridge CS5.1 is a part of Photoshop CS5.1. It might happen that bridge.exe must be running on your machine right now.
So, try to end the bridge.exe from Task Manager or re-start the machine as check.
Or, if MAC, go to Activity Monitor and end the Bridge process.

Problem installing DW CS5.5 on new computer

I am trying to install DW CS5.5 on new computer -- old hard drive died. Years ago I upgraded to the CS5.5 from a Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 version. I no longer have the serial number of the original version, which I used to upgrade to CS5.5. In fact, when I did that there was a phone number to call, and I was given a special number to put in the serial number slot and it worked for the upgrade. So now I am trying to install from the CD I used the last time and it is asking me for the original DW8 version, which I no longer have. Any suggestions on how I should proceed? I would love to talk to Dreamweaver support by phone, but cannot find a number, nor can I find a live chat option anywhere.

Problems Installing PS CS5 Trial

Okay so I've been using cs4 for awhile now, and I use it almost everyday, and was considering getting CS5, but since my budget is a little tight right now, I was going to download the trial, see if I like it, uninstall it, then next paycheck buy the full version.
Only one problem-
I can't. Whenever I start the Akami download thingy in the link for the photoshop trial, it gives me the "Browse for Folder" window, and whenever I select any folder/ location/ drive/ anywhere, it says: "You don't have permission to download to file 'C:/Documents and Settings/My Name/My Documents/Downloads/' or anyplace else. You could replace that with my C:/ Drive's "Program Files" section. And no matter where I try to download it, It says I don't have permission! Wth?
I don't know if this will help, but:
I use XP sp3
I recently downloaded litestep, and I'm thinking that because the Akami has to go through the shell it's getting confused or something. Maybe.
I am the admin, so I don't understand why the administer wouldn't have the ability to "administer" a new program.......

Wow, talk about paddling upstream. Explorer is no picnic, but I can't imagine that anything works right with something else in its place. Explorer is such an integral part of Windows...

Problems installing trial on Windows 8

I am on Windows 8, and I want to install a trial. The download works, but I can't run the app - nothing happens, even if I run it as administrator. Any ideas why that is?

I was trying to get Muse. I walked away for a while, and it said I didn't have Air, so I downloaded that. Now that won't run either. I'm not sure what's supposed to happen after I allow it to make changes to my computer, but it would appear its "nothing". I've had similar problems with other downloads because of Windows 8. Can someone please tell me what to do? Thanks.

Can't trial photoshop elements be installed to any drive but C? it always wants me to choose C even though I don't have the room...when I change it to another...it says I don't have enough room in C although I never chose C in the first place..what gives?

Some components always will be on the system root drive, even if the main program can be installed elsewhere. There's no way around that and if your system hasn't enough room for that, well, then it's hopeless....
