Problem installing TV Tuner

Sorry, noob question...
Im trying to install my TV card after upgrading to MCE 2005 ( from 2004 )...everytime I try to install drivers for my tuner I get "Some files on LSI Logic DVxplore Drivers are needed".
Cannot find these drivers / codecs(?) anywhere...its an MSI 8606 TV Tuner, but comes up on Windows found new hardware as Nvidia MCE TV.
Any help?

Both......ive uninstalled all drivers / software related to the device, then when the wizard tries to locate the software it cant, and when i give it the location of the driver ( which ive found in c:\windows\system32\drivers...it says it needs more .dll files ( which im presuming arent in that driver file ).
When i try to add new hardware, windows see's my card as a 'Multimedia Controller' - is that right.
All attempts to install drivers either from the MSI site, the ones here, or the original from my drivers CD comes with an error "TV Tuner card not installed" or similar ( cant quite remember just now ).

  • Very Annoying Problem Installing i-Tunes Ver 8.02

This rambles... But bear with me...
So I moved from London to some small village in the middle of nowhere. I had broadband before moving and when I got here I found that I COULD NOT GET IT HERE ONLY DIAL-UP. Now I know that some of you are rolling your eyes and coming up with quick fixes to my problem but when I stopped using i-tunes I had version 6 on my PC which has worked fine till now. I received a shiny new touch for Xmas from my son and so I downloaded i-tunes 8 as per the literature and needs of the machine (yes it took 6 hours). Now the problem I have is that when I try to install it, it keeps starting the install then going through the motions before telling me twenty seconds later that its installed version 8.02.
The cunning thing now is that it hasn't so what is going on.....?
I've tried all the tools within Windows and that hasn't worked. I've also tried uninstalling Quicktime and i-Tunes ver 6 but all that has left me with is no i-Tunes.
I've tried some of the kind suggestions already posted to other forums in the vain hope it will work but nothing..... PLEASE HELP

    okay, so it's

we'd better check the usual suspect in these cases first. Are you running Norton Internet Security 2005? if so, see:

  • I cant install i-tunes

ive reset my computer to its original factory settings and im having problems installing i-tunes. when the exe.file has dowloaded and i begin the istallation process i get this error message
    115:fileC:\WINDOWS\DOWLOADEDINSTALLATIONS\{54C0D94A-F467-4ABC-9D02-6 not found
i have downloaded all the latest service packs from microsoft
    please help

I see you have written down at the bottom that you have WIndows ME? Is that true? iTunes never had a supported version for Windows ME. But, I assume you had iTunes before resetting your computer to factory settings? So perhaps you have Windows 2000? Why did you restore it? Post back with more info. Thanks

  • Problems installing and starting on Windows 7 64bit. error message - The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.

Hi I'm having problems installing and starting itunes program on Windows 7 64bit. After install the following error message is flagged - The file "i Tunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would really appreciate any pointers!

Never mind sorted it out lol. Somebody did a system restore of a week or so. I had done the update during that time and it was lost. Just redownloaded itunes from the internet and its working fine now.

  • Problem Loading I Tunes "install interupted"

Have recently had to restore my pc and all programmes
But I have been unable to install I Tunes again either from the supplied CD or download. The ITunes set up downloads to my desktop ok and then starts the install process. At the final stage however I get a message saying "The install was interupted before ITunes could be completely installed. System has not been modified. To install this programme at a later time run the installation again"
Cannot seem to find any way to resolve problem. Have tried several times but no solution. Any halp very gratefully received!!

... actually, it does work if you've got a local security setting problem causing this.
in the itunes 4.9 days, this particular problem used to manifest with an "error connecting to service manager = 0" error message ... and the standard "workaround" we used to have to use for it was uninstalling SP2, installing itunes and then reinstalling SP2.
(it doesn't really fix the problem ... but it does allow you to do an install or an upgrade.)

  • Mystery U drive problem stops i-tunes/Quicktime installing

    Hi,
I'm trying to download and install i-tunes. I had it years ago so I've deleted it from my computer, as well deleting Quicktime.
When I try to download it I get an error message which says "Quicktime. U:drive". I press ok and it says it's unable to install because of a problem with my U drive. I cant even access my U drive...there doesnt seem to be one on my system.
I have gone into windows/system32 and deleted all i-tunes and quicktime related files. I've downloaded Windows Clean Up and used that to do the same.
What is my U drive and why is it affecting my ability to download i-tunes? I was at uni a few years ago and my computer was connected to a network which I think could have been called the u drive...don't know if that's relevant at all. I have checked in my Network Connections that the Novell Netware has been removed - it has.
I'd really appreciate any help with this. I've trawled the web and can't find anyone with the same problem
    Thanks

Thank you for your quick reply, I am not running any kind of backup software at all, when I-Tunes is running, I can access all folders on my hard drive including the I-Tunes folders, but if I-Tunes does not open via the I-Tunes icon, I will get the timer displayed for about 20-30 secs, then nothing, and if I try to access the I-Tunes folders it will crash the explorer, but if I try to access any other folder before I try to access the I-Tunes folders, they will open without any problems.  It has got me totally puzzled and why should windows display a "remote............" error when just clicking on the computer option from the start menu, it is really all very strange!!

I have re-installed I-tunes and have a new operating system (Win 7 Pro).
I now cannot sync as I-tunes says my I-Pod is already connected to a library and wants to erase my music on the I-Pod. What do I do to get around this problem?

An iPod is designed to be synced with only one computer/iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync the iPod with a new/different iTunes library, iTunes on the new/different computer will replace the contents currently on the iPod with whatever is currently stored in its own library.
If the music and content on your iPod is not in iTunes or in a backup somewhere you can use the information in this user tip from another forum member turingtest2 to help you copy this content from the Nano back to the PC and into iTunes.

  • Problems reinstalling.. Thank you for installing i tunes , not installing

    Hi
I recently unistalled i tunes and quick time as my CD burner was not functioning. I have tried to reinstall I tunes & when I try to hit the download now button it brings me straight to a page saying 'Thank you for installing I Tunes' without it being installed .
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi AlD23 , and thanks for getting back to me!
I appreciate the info, I have a few steps I'd recommend:
First, remove the ink cartridges from the printer, and perform a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I'd then recommend updating the printers firmware:

  • When i try to install i tunes it goes so far down the installation process then i get a message ' could not access network location %APPDATA%\.  Can any one help.

When i try to install i tunes, it goes so far down the installation process and then comes up with a message ' could not access network location %APPDATA%\.  I then retry and it comes up with the same message.
It also tells me i tunes needs 'Quick Time' to support the software.  I have downloaded Quicktime from i tunes seperately and gone through the whole process again, only to get the same message.
    Can anyone please help?

These kind of messages can often be cleared by using the Microsoft Installer cleanup Utility.
Here is a method for cleanup of your old iTunes installation and reinstall.
    == uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the files on your PC.
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program. The installer doesn't give any message to confirm the installation.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
(To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install)
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista or Win 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

  • Recently re-installed I-Tunes will not connect the internet

I am attempting to de-authorize a PC from the I-tunes registry.  I had unistalled I-Tunes from my pc at work, as I no longer us this for I-Tunes.  I now need to de-authorize this pc.  I re-installed I-Tunes, but it will no longer connect to the Internet.  I have gone through the trouble shooting guide on the Apple support page, but no luck.  I cannot Authorize my new PC without de-authorizing this older unit.

I updated to iTunes 10.4.1 a couple of days ago, and now I have exactly the same problem. I called Apple, and they would help me only if I paid a $49 fee, which as a loyal (or formerly loyal?) Apple user I found terribly distressing.
Fortunately, I have a lovely little program called Airfoil that will connect the music on my computer to the Airport Expresses around the house. I can use it for now. (It would cost you less to buy it than the service advice.) Perhaps the next iteration of iTunes will work properly, but I must say that in future I am going to be more attentive to alternatives to Apple than I have been hitherto.
Let me add, in response to the initial post, that I don't think I have a firewall on, so I can't turn it off. I am still using version 10.6.8 of the OS, since I am bit wary of going up to Lion till they have the bugs worked out.
