Problem IPhone 3g with Firmware OS4

Hello guys,
i have many problem with my iphone 3g with OS 4.0. I will downgrade the Firmware to 3.1.3. When i going to DFU Recovery mode me press "alt" key to set the Firmware to Filesystem and i use firmware 3.1.3. When the IPhone boot to 3.1.3 going this automatic to ITunes activation screen and going not to normal mode. I can only set Recover to Iphone Os 4.0 .
Have one a solution?

"canot get mail" iPhone 3G with latest OS4

We have 3 iPhones and two are sending and receiving email with no issues. One however displays the message "cannot get mail" and attributes it to an incorrect user name or password. We use Verizon /yahoo. User names and passwords are correct since we can access all mail accounts via desktop. All settings are correct and I have performed the normal power on / off and reset network settings (reset sim card afterward too). Unless anyone has a suggestion...a call to Applecare is my next option. Thanks!

I too have been having issues with my iPhone since upgrading to OS4. Just last night, I was completely unable to access my email. I would click on the email button, a blank window would appear, then it would crash back to desktop. This would happen repeatedly even after multiple reboots on the phone.
I performed a restore via iTunes and was able to regain email access, but the phone continues to be dog slow with just about everything. Web pages load slower, apps slower or non-responsive, GPS mapping does not locate my exactly location, etc etc. This is when using either 3G and/or 802.xx wireless. Simply put, it doesn't work as it did previous to the OS upgrade.

I heve a iphone 4s which is not stable in my wireless with a router dlink 624s and dhcp. Sometimes iphone runs okay, otherwise it is conect to the router but I cannot surf in the web, the iphone indicates "some problem with the server", even www.google.com doens't open in the safari, but it is connected because the simbol is present in the superior left corner of iphone.

Configure the router to do DHCP automatically, try not to hard code the ip address.
1. Try rebooting the router.
2. See if there's a firmware update for your router.

Sync problem "Iphone synced with other Itunes library"

Hi folks, I’m new to the forum and would appreciate some help.
I recently re-formatted my hard drive on my PC and re-installed Itunes. I have only ever used my iphone on this PC and this Itunes account. Now when I connect my Iphone 4 to my PC it can be seen in the devices section at the left hand side and there I can view all its contents as normal. However if I try to change the settings in the summary section to “manually manage music and videos” and press APPLY it come up saying “the iphone is synced with another itunes library” and says if I continue then my iphone content will be erased. I can’t even drop and drag music into my device as I used to do before formatting.
I really don’t want to delete my phones content as I’ve got it just the way I like it and would be a real hassle to do this. I don’t understand why itunes is saying that my phone is synced with another itunes library.
I also have the most recent update on my phone and was wondering if there's any way to sort this out?

All iTunes content presently on your phone will be erased. If you have the same content in your iTunes library, just sync it back. If you have app data you want to preserve, backup your phone first, then restore from that backup, followed by syncing your content back to your phone. You can manually create a current backup by right-clicking your phone in the left device pane & selecting "Backup". Follow this by right-clicking again & selecting "Restore from Backup". Select the backup you just made. If prompted to create another backup, decline. Disable auto-sync before you do any of the above: iTunes>Preferences>Devices(under the edit menu if using windows). Make sure you have one contact & one calendar entry in whatever supported applications you use on your computer: DO NOT SYNC to empty applications. Doing so will erase data from your phone.

After updating my iphone 4 to ios 4.3.4 and itunes to 10.4 syncing doesn't work any longer.
While syncing pictures I get a unknown error (-50) message and syncing stops.

Okay, I have a Mac Mini running Snow Leopard in which I just updated iTunes. My iTunes library is on an external hard drive. I updated my iPhone to 4.3.4 and the syncing is not working. I get an error that it cannot write to the iPhone then get an error regarding some of the photos. Here is what I have done -
I restored my iPhone
I removed all photos from the iPhone and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
I unplugged the external from my mini and then it did a sync just find - course I wasn't syncing anything to it!
I plugged back in the external via Firewire which is what it was before and I get the errors.
Prior to the latest iTunes update everything was fine but of course I hadn't updated the iPhone yet - so I don't know which update is now causing the problem although I'm thinking it's the iTunes update..
Any thoughts? Beyond frustrated at this point.

This is a typical response from the manufacturer. Did you try the fix that Lawrence mentioned. When Apple or any other phone manufacturer update phone software, they have the latest Bluetooth installed. It is usually the problem with the radio manufacturer that they devices are using the older Bluetooth protocols. You can try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581 and see if anything there helps, but generally it requires the radio manufacturer to update their firmware.

Before anybody replies and says this has already been solved, I would like to say the following. I have searched forums and the internet for this. Many different sites recommend different ways to fix (some very complicated ways). However, it also seems clear that iTunes with firmware 2.1 fixed this problem. However, that is exactly what I have and yet it still happened to me. So, 1, I thought I would throw this out there that their fix did not actually fix it (at least for me) and 2, I was hoping for a once and for all clear (hopefully easy) way to fix this. And specific to this new version. Please read the exact sequence of events that lead to the problem.
I just got the iPhone about 2 days ago. I plugged it into my mac for the first time today. I sync my contacts, calendar, Applications. I then copied a whole bunch of my music to the iPhone. Everything was working fine. While the iPhone was still plugged in (charging) I created my own ringtone out of an MP3 song I have by converting it to AAC. After renaming the file to .m4r so that iTunes would recognize it as a ring tone, I re-imported it into iTunes. All of a sudden, all the playlists under my iPhone in iTunes disappeared.
I looked on the iPhone, and all the music is gone. In iTunes it still says that the space is used.
Has anyone else had this on the 2.1 firmware?
Does anybody know of an easy solution?

I've just had this happen with 2.2. My iphone has been upgraded for a few weeks now and things were so so. (as much as an iPhone can be I guess). I have used the ipod feature heaps, but went to play recently and my iPhone says no content yet out of 14.4 gig capacity I only have 4 gig left I can only assume something has screwed up..
Now the dilemmas start, plugged in to itune and says cannot read iPhone. Please restore. So I tried and now Im getting the same bullhits error 9 I got when I upgraded. It took over 4hrs to get the upgrade to 2.2 firmware to work when it was released, looks like Im up for that again.

Have you worked through the Troubleshooting iOS and WiFi knowledge base article? If not, see if there is info in there that might help.
Is the WiFi greyed out on all WiFi networks or just the one? If it does this on all then there may be a hardwaer problem that needs attention from the techs at an Apple store genius bar.
Before that, however, try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears. That clears a lot of iOS hang ups that occur.

Camera stuck on iPhone 3GS with 4. firmware

I have installed the 4.2 firmware some time ago and it worked out fine. Till yesterday. The camera froze on the shutter, nothing resolved the issue. Total restore, switching off and on, ....I tried everything.
I also read that the happy iPhone 4 owners are having the same issue...
Does this mean that the camera is a waste on the iPhone from now on?
Pretty disappointed that Apple didn't resolve this issue rapidly since it seems that the 4 owners ran into this problem pretty soon after getting the phone.
I'll go to the Apple store later today and see what they have to offer ;-(

No such problem with my iPhone 4 with 4.2 or 4.3, and I certainly haven't seen this problem reported here in any large numbers. If this were a problem with 4.2, then every iPhone 4 owner that installed 4.2 on their iPhone would have the same problem, which is not the case.
The iPhone includes a one year warranty. The iPhone 4 was released last summer in the U.S. so there is no way your iPhone's standard one year warranty has expired so there should be no charge for an exchange under warranty.
If there is a hardware problem with your iPhone that cannot be resolved by any other means besides an exchange under warranty, and you haven't done anything with your iPhone that voids the warranty such as any accidental damage including moisture damage, why wouldn't the Apple store exchange your iPhone under warranty at no charge? Are you saying you refused an exchange under warranty? An exchange under warranty remains under the same warranty as the original purchase.

Solutions for issues on iPhones with firmware 3.0

Don't know if these issues - flaws and fixes have been addressed in this forum, but here it is.
Issues:
Since updating to firmware 3.0 on my 2G and 3G iPhone, I have noticed the following problems on both iPhones:
1) slow response, faster battery drain, general erratic behavior
2) GPS is inaccurate, long time to connect to satellites for GPS tracking, was accurate when on firmware 2.2.1 using Map app (only on 3G or maybe 3GS iPhones too)
Fixes:
1) turns out that the cause of the first issue on both iPhones (at least for me) was when the iPhones updated to firmware 3.0 - PUSH email service was automatically enabled. Disabling PUSH email service to FETCH email service in preference did the trick. While your there, scroll to the bottom and chose Advance then choose each email address and change to Fetch as well for each email address listed. Yes this will disable Push email, but will temporarily fix this issue until the firmware fix comes out.
2) this issue is really addressed for 3G and 3GS iPhones with GPS capabilities only. To make the GPS accurate again and connect with tracking satellites, turn off 3G networking service. Probably another firmware issue which causes a GPS - 3G network conflict, but once the 3G network service is disabled, the GPS worked accurately again and connected to tracking satellites instantaneously. GPS accuracy worked flawlessly with Navigon app mapping when 3G network service is disabled. When you need the 3G service just activate again.
These simple fixes might not work for everyone, but try it out, it worked for me.

I was facing a problem with my iPhone 3GS (with 3.1.2 firmware)that prompt for "Restore is needed" and then lost All Network connection (phone, wifi, bluetooth....). I reboot my phone and its stay on Un-activate condition, which only allow me to call emergency number (which i don't know).
This already happen to me second times with a replacement phone by apple store. So I worry that i will have the same problem even Apple replace another new phone for me.
Please help and let me know what actually happenning on the phone or this firmware.

No, it's not a common problem. In fact, 3.1.2 contains a fix for this a similar problem which was a bug in 3.1.

Voice quality problems on iPhone 5s with IOS 7.02 on Verizon.I

I have a brand new iPhone 5s with IOS 7.02 on Verizon. Everything works great except when on talk on the phone the normal way. When I do that, people tell me they can hardly hear me. But, when I put them on the speaker phone, they can hear me very well. Also, Voice Memos, and SIri all work just fine. It is only when I talk on the phone the normal way (without the speakerphone on) that the voice quality I am transmitting is very low. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks very much.

Apple helped me solve this problem. They gave me a brand new iPhone 5s. The were just great in their support. It appears that my first iPhone 5s had a faulty "audio chip." This is the chip that changes the frequency of your voice as you talk into the microphone; Apple explained that it is one frequency when talking on the phone, and another where using the speakerphone, and another when using Siri, and another when using voice memos, etc. You use the same 2 microphones for all of these applications (one at the bottom of the phone, and one my the camera lens), but the "audio chip" adjusts the freqency based on the applicaiton you are using. So, on my first iPhone 5s, my "audio chip" was defective, so they gave me a new iPhone 5s, and it has been working just fine. I had the most current IOS operating system on the original iPhone 5s with the faulty "audio chip," and on my new iPhone 5s which works great. Hope this helps. The technicians at Apple Customer Care and at the Apple Store are very aware of this problem with potentially defective "audio chips" in some of the iPhone 5s's. Cheers, Clarence from Cleveland.

Charging cords are covered by the iPhone warranty or their own warranty
if puchased separately. Take your iPhone and the cords to your local
Apple store for evaluation and possible replacement.
