Problem launching lightroom cc

After downloading Lightroom CC 2015 today, when I attempt to launch the application, the start screen comes up for a split second, then goes away, so the program never launches. I uninstalled, then reinstalled the application, with the same results. Anyone else having that problem? Running on OS X 10.10.3 with a Mac Pro 2013.

I have a Mac running 10.10.3 and have CC trying to upgrade to Lightroom CC. I thought I was doing something incorrectly and was getting frustrated:  ADOBE should have done more bug fixes before they put this out. There are going to be thousands of people with install problems, but thank you for solving my problem - and hopefully others.  It WORKS!

I am having problems launching the standalone version of Lightroom 6 after I have gone through the install and activation process? Lightroom starts to open but "hangs" before any photos in the catalgue are displayed. I have contacted the chat support twice but they have not been able to fix the problem.

I went through the activation process yesterday and shut down my PC when I went to bed last evening. When I got up this morning and turned my PC on and then started Lightrom 6 (I upgraded from version 5) it started to launch but then just hung and became "not responsive". I I then uninstalled and then reinstalled the product today but the same thing happened. What is weird is that when I install from the standalone file I downloaded when I purchased the upgrade it looks like it's downloading the software again over the Internet? I have been having these problems for the last four or five days. I have contacted the chat support folks twice and they were able to get it working but whatever they did did not last as the problem reappeared again once the PC was shut down and then started up again.

Hello, I recently downloaded a trial version of Lightroom and then decided to get the monthly photoshop membership.  Now, when I launch Lightroom, my choices are to enter a serial number to continue the trial.  On the adobe website, it says "You can convert your trial to a Creative Cloud complete or single-app membership by purchasing on the Creative Cloud website. After you purchase your membership, your desktop product trial will automatically be licensed upon relaunch."  But this is not the case.  I do not want to risk losing my catalog and the work I have already done in Lightroom, so what should I do?

  • PROBLEM RUNNING LIGHTROOM IN LEOPARD

    Hello,
I have installed Lightroom to demo and when launching the application i get the following message and the app won't run:
The Lightroom catalog folder at /Users/Pictures/Lightroom cannot be used because the folder does not allow files to be created within it.
Please fix folder permissions, then re launch Lightroom.
I've tried removing plist, lightroom folder, reinstalling, running disk utilities (repair permisions) ect.
Nothing has worked so far. Any help wold be greatley appreciated.

This issue with the "unknown" user was discussed on the apple forums, and a solution was found.
    The discussion is here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5670342
The answer was given by mlaster in that thread.
I've had no problem on 3 computers after having done this. Here is my summary (remember...always good to have a backup of your system using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner before doing anything like this).
    1) In System Prefs > Accounts select the main user and unlock the
options. Control-click on the user and choose advanced options. Set
the Group ID to 20 (probably says 501 when you first open it).
    2) type this in the terminal window:
    sudo chown -R yourUserName:staff ~
    3) Restart computer. Repair disk permissions.

Squirrel, This problem occurs after having selected an existing JPEG file when trying to create a new catalog, instead of entering the name of a new catalog. To recover, rename the LR preferences file and restart LR. Name and location of the LR preferences file can be found here. Beat

  • Any ideas about issue with launching Lightroom 4.3?

When finished downloading and installing Lightroom 4.3 from the Cloud, Application Manager said, Installation Complete, but Launch App was greyed out.  When I launch Lightroom  from my applications folder, Lightroom 4 launches with dialogue box that says, An error occurred when attempting to change modules.

I kind of wish I wasn't right....it would make me feel better about Apple support.
I uninstalled iTunes v.7.4.3.1 and replaced it with v.7.4.2.4.
    To do this I:
    Unistalled iTunes
    Uninstalled Apple Update
    Rebooted
    Installed iTunes v.7.4.2.4
    Rebooted
    Launched iTunes
    Plugged in the iphone
Hey look...it syncs again, how nice. The install I performed last night did not include all of the rebooting I performed this morning which may have done the trick.
I have since rebooted several times since and added test entries to the calendar with 100% success.
I also made a follow-up call to Apple support to let them know that I was able to fix the problem....no thanks to them (don't worry, I was not rude).
btw...The rep I spoke to last night "basically" told me that this was an isolated issue to me (which if you perform a search on the Web for "iphone not syncing with Outlook" you will get pages of results with people having the same issue).

  • :When launches lightroom 2.3,asks for the serial no

:When launches lightroom 2.3,asks for the serial no when enters the serial no accepts it but then closes automatically

Here is her post from yesterday:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/498436?tstart=0
This has been an occasional problem with LR2 since its gitgo on Vista. In August 2008 I couldn't get a purchased LR2 upgrade serial  # to stick when I entered both it and the LR1 serial # correctly in a trial version of LR2.0 until I uninstalled the trial and downloaded/installed the upgrade file from my account. I haven't had the problem since then.
She is correct that the registry line referred to in the Adobe Tech Note doesn't seem to be present, at least in Vista 64 bit's registry on my machines.
BTW, this was true on both my laptop, which had only 2.0 installed, and my desktop, which had both LR 1.4.1 and LR 2.0 installed

  • How do I launch Lightroom 5.3 from Creative Cloud?

I downloaded and installed Lightroom 5.3 from Creative Cloud.  I have been trying for 4 days to launch Lightroom.  Each time I try,Adobe asks for a serial number or wants to know if I want to try Lightroom 5.3 for 30 days.  I use an iMac 10.9.1.file:///Users/cawhet1/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202014-02-18%20at%207.55.37%20PM.png.

    Hi Crystal
I believe there have been a good number of similar instances affecting CC users. It’s worth checking your purchase history to ensure you are properly subscribed. Go to Adobe.com and near the top right of the page log-in to My Adobe, unless you are already logged-in; in which case it will say welcome next to your name.
Click on My Orders and this should show your latest invoicing. You can expand each section by clicking the small disclosure triangle icon to the left of each date.
Then click on My Products and Services. Under the products section, which sometimes takes a few seconds to refresh, you should find Lightroom and if you expand the details it should contain an automatically generated serial number.
The only suggestion I have is to Launch Lightroom again and if you see the trial screen click on licence this product and enter the serial number.
It should not really be necessary with a CC app but let us know if that works.

  • Can not launch lightroom says error when reading its preview cache

I can not launch Lightroom is puts up a error message that says it encountered an error when reading its preview cache and goes in to a loop that keeps closing the program
I have restarted my comp 4 times same this each time
I can't find any trouble shooting and when I try and download lightroom again it just puts me back at the creative cloud desktop which I can't click in anything

You need to delete the preview cache. LR will automatically create new previews.
Read here and here are the locations. Don't touch the *.lrcat file.

Paulou12 what type of a Creative Cloud Membership do you have?  You can find details on how to update Lightroom using the Creative Cloud Desktop application at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
Finally if you are in a managed environment then please work with your I.T. department to apply the update.

I subscribed for Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom. Everything went smoothly but when i tried to launch Lightroom, nothing. Even if i run it on administrator mode. Photoshop CC launch for 2 seconds.
The funny thing is that Camera Raw open with photoshop and everything works well. If i close a file in CR then Photoshop close too ...
I tried to disconnect and reconnect on Adobe Creative Cloud, nothing. The registration of both applications was a success.
    Anyone for help please ?

    Please help Duncan

you'll need both serial numbers to install the lr 5 upgrade.
if you purchased and downloaded lr 4 from adobe or registered with adobe, you may be able to find your lr 4 serial number under the account used to make that purchase/registration (not necessarily your current adobe id), Adobe ID
and adobe support may be able to help you, contact adobe support by clicking here and, when available, click 'still need help', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
