Problem Lightning to HDMI

I have a Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter, it was working fine but now I get no output on my Ipad Air.
I have checked the lead which works fine with my Iphone 5.
Is it likely to be the hardware interface on the Ipad (i.e. broken) or is it a software issue; the Ipad still charges up ok.

If the adapter, HDMI cable and TV work fine with your iPhone 5, but not the iPad, I would assume the iPad is the problem. Its typically a plug in play setup, without any complex configuration required, and if you got the iPhone to work find then I assume that you're familiar with how the setup works. Keep in mind that even if the iPad charges, there are multiple pins on cables/adapters, some for charging some for video output and more. Ideally using a different adapter would help confirm the problem, which brings us back to raymond's suggestion. Bring it to an Apple store or even a friends house that has an adapter that you can test it with.

HY, i'm Paul and i've a problem with my Lightning to HDMI adapter Apple Original. when i Connected it to Tv, in the upper part of iPhone i can see a blu "Ribbon" for  2-3 seconds only. No input signal on tv. HDMI CABLE IS certified. In iPad or in iPhone in general setting - info, Lightning peripherical doesn't appeal. i'm really afraid  because it's cost a lot here in italy. Excuse my pour english and have a nice day.

With the iPad displaying on a TV, you have very limited control over the iPad's functioning...as long as it works properly I would not push too much.

  • Lightning to HDMI/& 30 pin stopped working since OS update

Purchased lightning to HDMI & lightning 8 pin to 30-pine adapters & since I updated to 7.1.2 they don't work on my iPhone 5s or iPad Air. But my lightning to SD Card does work.  Anyone else?  Anyone with support?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • I have a problem with my lightning to hdmi cable

    Hi
Right i bought this cable for use in my car
There is nothing wrong with it works perfect in the tv
They problem I'm having is I don't have a head unit I'm using a pre amp along with my other amplifiers
So I just need an audio signal
I don't want to use the jack as I'm going to be mounting an iPad mini in the dash (hence no head unit)
The problem that I am having is when it's plugged in there is no power on the other end of the hdmi cable as I had a cable that at one end is hdmi and it spilts it to the red blue and green cables what I'm using for audio now if would work fine but because there is no signal coming from the preamp up the audi cables the phone/iPad doesn't think it's plugged in so just plays though the handset speaker
Is there any way to force it to play though the hdmi
Or will I need to buy a powered hdmi to audio convert like a powered little box ?
    Thank you
http://bit.ly/1kReuQ1 this is the currant cable
    I'm trying to use
http://bit.ly/QlrmzT would this work if the lead doesn't as it's powered

Then it's likely that you have a hardware issue on your hands. Follow the three r's:
    1. Restart: Turn it off and then on again
    2. Reset: Hold down the home and power button until the apple logo appears
    3. Restore: Connect the device to iTunes and restore it as new. Test the issue and see if it persists.
Don't forget to back up before you restore, so you can keep your data.
If the three r's don't work to solve your issue, you will need to get your phone repaired. To do this, you can go into the apple store or call 1-800-275-2273.

  • Will the iphone 5 digital av adaptor (lightning to hdmi) work with the projector input on my new Sony PJ780VE Videocamera when I connect my iPhone 5 to it?

Hello....I am new here...first posting.....I have recently bought an iphone 5 and also a new Sony PJ780VE camcorder but with a built in projector that allows external input. I am wondering if anyone knows whether the iphone 5 lightning to Digital AV (HDMI) adaptor will work with this Sony projector input okay if I go ahead and purchase the adaptor from Apple. The reason I ask is that I read on the net that Sony are announcing an adaptor for iphone 5 to allow this connection....at least that's my understanding of this....so do I need a proprietary Sony adaptor to facilitate this connection???

i have the same problem but had nothing to do with an update, it worked christmas day charged overnight and didn't work the next day

  • HT5498 Is this information still valid after one and a half years? Are the lightning-to-HDMI or lightning-to-VGA cables the only available options to send video to a TV set?

There is a relative using an iPhone 5s and is interested in streaming video from her iPhone to an old TV set; unfortunately the TV set does not have either HDMI or VGA connectors; therefore we figured out getting a "lightning-to-30 Pin adapter", plug it to the iPhone 5s and use an old "Composite AV Cable" to do the trick. However, I found this post informing video streaming is not possible through the "lightning-to-30 Pin adapter", but -considering its post date- I would like to know if that info is still valid or if something has changed since then. Obviously changing the TV set is not an option, we have a limited "budget" to solve this.

Thanks for the feedback Rudegar. We're not planning using airplay mirroring using AppleTV, but directly as it used to work with old iPhone 4S. Just attaching the composite video cable (30pin-to-Composite) to the iPhone 4 worked on almost any TV set equipped with composite jacks. Maybe I have to rewrite the question to "...available wired options to send video to a TV set?"

  • Transfer photo problem: Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader to iPad

    Equipment:
Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader-ZML (from BH Photo dot com)
    Version 7.0.2 (11A501)
    iPad Wi-Fi Cellular 32GB MD517LL/A
    SD card 4GB Kingston SDHC
SD card 32GB Lexar SDHC Class 10
    Nikon D5100
Fry's build desktop with Windows 7 Home Edition
    Files type:
    *.jpg
    Desired outcome:
Transfer *.jpg images from desktop to SD card to iPad for use Photos (camera roll)
    Successes:
iPad recognizes and displays *.jpg created in-camera.
    Problem statement:
File origin: all image files created with camera listed above.
Files created in camera (*.jpg & *.NEF (RAW), then transferred to desktop.  *.NEF files converted to *.jpg.  Reload files to SD card in *.jpg format only, iPad does not see / display images to be imported from SD card to iPad.
    Problem resolution attempts:
Format SD card using desktop, result - iPad does not recognize SD card
Format SD card using camera, result - iPad recognizes SD card
Try a different SD card (used two, see equipment above)
Test shot photo (*.jpg) in camera work only (no transfer to desktop), result iPad recognizes and displays image
    For *.jpgs on desktop
1st convert file names to same nomenclature (system of names) created by camera (DSC_001.jpg) (DSC underscore 3 digits file extension).
2nd load file into same folder that was created by camera on SD cards, result displayed one desktop originating test photo once only.  Subsequent attempts failed.
No difference in performance between the 2 SD cards.  In camera work displays but not transfer files from desktop to SD card
E-mail photos (15) to personal e-mail, open file with internet, copy to iPad, result iPad copies, loads, and displays images in camera roll.  I used same images I loaded to SD from desktop in attempt to keep everything equal.
Side note: I received a notification (push to my device) to from Apple to update software.  The operating system was updated to what I have now.  I don't recall if the one success I listed above was before or after the OS update.
    Discussion
Lighning cable advertised as useful in transfering images (pictures) to iPad.  I read prior to purchase what image files were supported.  I began with high hopes, and now I'm very deflated.
I've hacked and hacked and tried and read and tried and... I can't solve this problem.
A resolution (without additional expenditures) is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance to everyone for your consideration and help.

There's a step by step in the manual
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/
There is no specific naming convention beyond must be in the DCIM folder and  must have 8 character names. myphotos.jpg for example.
I've successfully used SD cards to import videos off my computer onto my iPad, they just have to be named right.
The reason for the work arounds is, in Apple's work flow, you use the camera kit only to interface with your camera, if you want to import from your computer, you use iTunes. So that's the methods they favor. Transferring from your computer to a card to your iPad via the kit is a non-supported work around, which is why you have to basically fool the iPad into thinking those images came directly from the camera.

  • Lightning to HDMI followed by Startech HDMI to RCA Converter --- HDCP

    Hello together,
I need to go from lightning output to rca input in order to be able to stream purchased itunes movies over this monitor.
My approach so far was to hook up 1) Lightining to HDMI adabter 2) HDMI cable 3) STARTECH HDMI to RCA converter 4) RCA cable
My question now is, if it would play HDCP protected movies this way?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Cheers

    No.

  • Lightning to hdmi with separate audio to speaker ?

I have an iPhone five that I'm trying to hook up to a projector as well as the speaker using the lightning toHDMI connector. While using Bluetooth or the headphone jack I still don't get audio out of the speaker does anyone know how to accomplish this

    BSteely,
    Thanks, I learned something.
I also know that HDTV support and DVI-to-HDMI support just plainly blow chunks under Linux. The issue,if I understand things properly, has to do with licensing fees more than anything else. You can find my trials of trying to get a DVI to HDMI to work under the english forums at www.ubuntu.com . Do a search for HDMI, you will find my rather lengthy postings.
Then I pulled over to XP and have had issues with the 1080i mode being way too interlaced (the dang screen shakes likes my grandma).
With the Mac, it just plainly worked on the 1080i without visible shaking. I dunno how they did it, but hey it worked. If you are serious about a media hub, I am begining to think that the mini is the way to go. The only issue that I am seeing at the moment is the lack of either a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD version of the Mac mini. I think that Apple is behind the HD-DVD variation.
The other portion that I am trying to research out is a good HDTV adapter for the Mac. I don't think there is one. Although this is not a big issue for me, as I only do DVDs and not TV of any sort.
    Thanks,
    Sean Patzer, MCSE.

  • HD 1080p not available from lightning to HDMI adapter

Tried the latest $49 adapter from Apple but the screen quality is very poor. I had much better results using an Ipod touch 4g with a 30 pin to HDMI adapter.
Is it anything available that I can buy to output a HD 1080p signal to my TV?

Well, of course I can still use my HDMI/30 pin adapter with my old Ipod touch, but I want to use my new Ipod touch 5g with its lightning connector...

  • Problem with the HDMI cable.

    Hi folks.
I was living in another country where I have had my TV and MacBook Pro Retina there with the Samsung TV via HDMI cable I was watching movies. Everything was perfect.
Recently moved to another country, I brought with my of course my MacBook and HDMI cable.
The problem now is, I have the very same Samsung TV and everytime I connect the TV with MacBook the TV displays green. Sounds work perfect. I can see everything but with the green thing on TV.
I bought another HDMI cable thought the problem would get solved, but the same problem even with the new HDMI cable.
Do you know how to solve this problem, guys?
    Thank you so much.

  • Msi video card n240gt and n9800gt problems with output HDMI

    Hello to all
I have a problem I just bought a new Video card because I needed HDMI output. The previous card I have is a BFG Ge Force 8800GT 512 DDR2 running @ 1920x1080p 60Hz which works perfectly the only downside is it does not have HDMI out with 5.1. Now i installed the n240GT 512 DDR5 and tried watching BD ripped to the HDD and playing them back  all i get now it jerking lagging bad also and have horizontal red and green lines scattered across the screen.Which i did not have with my 8800GT card thinking  its  a bad card so i bought another card from another dealer this time its a MSI  N9800GT 1gig DDR3 and still the same problem.I Checked the resolution and its set to 1920x1080P refresh at 60Hz,i also changed the  Hz to 24Hz and it cleaned up the lines but not all and picture still  jerky picture. I have a MSI K9N NEO V3 Motherboard and all drivers updated current Bios. l used a DVI cable 40ft long with my Ge Force 8800GT and every thing worked fine, once I installed the new MSI Video cards N240gt and N9800GT I have the above problems and using a 50FT HDMI cable. I have a Samsung PN50A550 with 3 HDMI inputs 1 has my BluRay player hooked up with HDMI running at 1920x1080P at 60Hz and crystal clear picture no problems, input 2 has my HD Bell receiver running at same specs as input 1 no problems I tried the other HDMI inputs from the Samsung TV  from the HDMI out from the card same thing. It has to be the cards that can`t support the TV what else can it be if not the MSI cards. Please respond ASAP Thanks Thumpalong

You may want to borrow and test with another PSU.
We always recommend Corsair and Seasonic
I can't find anything on Topower other than that opinion piece of linked... getting frustrated. Most of the time I can find detailed info on most psu's not this time, so best to borrow and test.
Assuming of course that the older VGA's worked fine.

  • IDEACENTRE A720 serious problem with noisy hdmi in and brightness control

First of all, excuse my English. (And after initial posting i recognized that i have selected the false category for this post, should be in "ideacentre"....)
A few days before i buyed a used VBT1YGE from Amazon Warehouse Deals. It was important to me to use the A720 as a external monitor for my Lenovo Notebook and my MacBook.
As soon as i connected the Notebook or MacBook with a HDMI-Cable (tried four different cables!) plugged in to HDMI in, there was an annoying noise.
Furthermore, if i adjust the brightness with plugged in HDMI-Cable, there was a new loud noise, it becomes louder by decreasing brightness. Sound works fine from the Lenovo Notebook through HDMI but there is always a noise and if i decrease brightness this results in louder noise.
If i use the VBT1YGE only as AIO PC, everything works fine, no noises.
As i said the VBT1YGE was used, so i thought it has a defect and i sent it back to Amazon.
Now i have buyed a new VDT2DGE from Lenovo Shop and i have exactly the same problems.
Please, is there any solution for this problem? If not, i will sent the VDT2DGE back in a few days...

I am running Windows 8, which came with the system. I decided to "Remove everything and reinstall Windows" and this is the specs that I see now. Windows 8, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz, 6.00 GB RAM, 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor.
By chance I found out that if I force my screen to sit up right, by pushing the backbone of the screen backwards, the noise becomes smaller. I also now changed my refresh rate to 50Hz to make the noise a little bit lower in tone. I was hoping that this is fixable with an update with graphics card or with a lenovo diagnostic software, but I could not find anything online similar to it. The problem still exists, although now it is more acceptable. Still hope that it can be solved.
Thank you very much for replying!
