Problem moving folders on exchange 2007 in mail.app

Hi,
I've got a problem i'm fairly certain is a bug. If I accidentally drag an exchange folder into another folder in Mail, there is no way to drag it back out. I can only drag it into another folder. Let me try to replicate my folder setup here:
Facebook
Personal
Company
   Newsletters
eBay
Faxes
Someones Name
Server Messages
   LFD Messages
If I want to drag a folder (say Newsletters) out of another folder (Company), my options are a follows:
A) I can drag it into any other unopened folder (It highlights the folders)
or
B) the following lines appear in the lineup
Facebook
Personal
Company
   o---------
   Newsletters
   o---------
eBay
Faxes
Someones Name
Server Messages
   o----------
   LFD Messages
   o----------
I would expect full length lines to appear, such as:
INBOX
o-------------
o-------------
   Someones Name
o-------------
   Server Messages
      o----------
      LFD Messages
      o----------
o-------------
But the full-width bars do not appear and thus do not allow me to reposition folders or drag a folder out of a subfolder.
The only thing unique about my installation seems to be this:
A) The last folder in the list has a subfolder
B) I've got 16,000+ messages (the darn "server messages" folder!)
Any help would be much appreciated!
I've got a Mac Pro running 10.6.2 with Mail version 4.2 build 1077.

I had the same problem with a test install of Exchange 2007.
While making yet another pass through IIS settings, I noticed that the www service was set to run in "IIS 5.0 isolation mode" (Web Sites Properties dialog --> Service tab).  After removing the check from the box and restarting IIS, OWA 2007 worked as advertised.  Haven't tried ActiveSync yet.

  • Unable to access public folders on Exchange 2007 when user mailbox is on Exchange 2013

    Hi
    I have coexistence with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. I've moved a mailbox to Exchange 2013 and now cannot view the public folders on Exchange 2007. The error message I get is "could not connect to the public folder server. microsoft exchange is
    not available. either there are network problems or the exchange server is down for maintenance."
    Mailboxes on Exchange 2007 do not have any problems viewing public folders. I can't migrate users to Exchange 2013 until this issue is resolved.
    The IIS permissions to the Public virtual directory on Exchange 2007 is set to Intergrated Windows and Basic authentication.

    Hi northerly,
    I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
    1. Please run the Get-OutlookAnywhere cmdlet to verify the Outlook Anywhere settings on Exchange Server 2013 Client Access servers.
    2. If "ExternalHostName" is set, and "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" is Negotiate, change "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate.
    3. If "InternaClientlAuthenticationMethod" is set to Negotiate, and "InternalRequireSSL" is True, change "InternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate, or change "InternalRequireSSL" to False.
    What's more, here is a helpful KB for your reference.
    Users of Exchange Server 2013 or Exchange Online can't open public folders or shared mailboxes on an Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007 server

    Hope my clarification is helpful.
    If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.

    please find  how to move public folders on ttp://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2013/migration-deployment/migrating-public-folders-exchange-2013-part1.html
    You can replace your servers names and follow exactly the proedure that is shown there. I strongly suggest to read also the 2nd page (replication) before you start. Please be aware of
    Set-OrganizationConfig –PublicFoldersLockedForMigration $True , so you cannot change the source side whle migrating.

  • Problems doing activesync with Exchange 2007 on AT&T Centro

    I have an AT&T Centro and a PC laptop. I recently changed jobs and now have a Mac OS X (10.5.8) at work. I immediately was able to set up ActiveSync on my Centro in order to obtain emails and update contacts and datebook. However, last week, I was migrated over to the Exchange 2007 server, and even after changing the mail server name, I keep getting the message "You are attempting to access a web page that has an invalid security certificate (server name mismatch)."
    I have contacted our technical support people, who tried to tell me that they only support Blackberries and iPhones. However, they did agree to review the documentation I found online, which indicated that the certificate would need to be reissued to the correct site name, or that the server should be aliased externally and internally.
    When I sent this link to them, instead of following these directions, they replied that another employee had a similar problem and was able to solve it by downloading the Build 86 VersaMail update on smartphone. However,when I looked into this, it was only for Sprint users, not AT&T.
    I have spent many hours trying to solve this problem and don't know where else to turn. I have reviewed many of the forum items and can't quite find my situation.
    By the way, the laptop stopped syncing with the phone when I began doing ActiveSync with the Mac. Now that ActiveSync no longer works with the Mac, I am able to sync again with the laptop. However, I'm less worried about that and more worried about being able to sync with the Exchange server, since that is the only way to access emails when I am away from the office and don't have a wireless connection on my laptop.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

    You will need to have your IT folks provide you with the cert & you can create your own palmos version with this tool http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/43375_en.html
    At that point, sync the newly created palm compatible certs.pdb to the handheld (not to the memory card) and when you go to your mail website in blazer, you should be able to go to https:// & have a blue lock symbol.Give your versamail EAS sync another shot as well. Also, while not supported, I have seen people have luck installing the versamail 401 update on verizon 755p even, so could give it a shot on your at&t centro.
    Note that the latest osx (10.6 is it?) release has removed the palmos sync conduits from their isync program.

  • Exchange 2007 - Mac mail broken?

    Since yesterday I have not been able to receive email on Mac mail connecting to hosted Exchange 2007 from GoDaddy.
    I have deleted the account twice now, both times the mail synchronises up to current mail and then no new mail comes in.
    When I try to send mail I get :
    'Cannot send message using the server [email protected] (exchange). The exchange server 2007 connection to server ex1.secureserver.net failed '
    Funny thing is the mail does actually arrive with recipient but it remains in my mac mail outbox.
    Email is working fine using web/owa and fine on iPhone. This also works fine on my Windows 7 Machine using Outlook 2007 so it is no GoDaddy's issue.
    Did Apple break something in an update?

    I have just been able to verify that this is indeed a GoDaddy issue. I have two Exchange accounts, one hosted with GoDaddy and one on a corporate Exchange server.
    My GoDaddy hosted Exchange account is not working at all right now, after the issue started yesterday I deleted the account, rebooted and added it again and I now don't see ANY emails now in my Inbox or other folders on the Exchange server. I also lost all of my calendar and delegate calendar info in iCal (but it's all still on the server). OWA, iPhone, and Outlook on a virtual PC continue to work fine.
    My corporate Exchange account continues to work as expected in Mail. I just had a colleague send me several test emails and meeting requests, I was able to see the message contents (not just the header like I was seeing on the other account yesterday), reply, and accept the meeting request.
    I guess the fun part starts now - getting the dipsh**s at GoDaddy to figure out what they broke.

  • Exchange 2013 CAS-MBX / Exchange 2007 Edge Mail flow

    I am in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.  I have installed my 2013 Cas/MBX into my environment with the existing 2007 Hub/MBX and existing 2007 Edge.  Mail flow on the 2007 side is unchanged (working) but on the 2013
    side I am able to receive mail but I can't send (from test mailbox).  It just sits in the que on the 2013 CAS/MBX until it expires.
    Any ideas?  My Exchange 2007 servers are both upgraded to SP3 Rollup 13 so the versions should be fine.

    I redid my edge subscription (applying the xml on the 2013 hub).  All works the same (mail flow on the 2007 side works fine but unable to send out for mailbox's that live on the 2013 side).  One thing I noticed is that when I ran start-edgesynchronization
    I get the following:

  • Moving mailboxes in Exchange 2007

    Does anyone know what is the effects of moveing VoIP-enabled mailboxes to another Exchange 2007 servers?

    The key text from the link I cited in my initial response:
    Moving Subscriber Mailboxes for Cisco Unity 8.x
    From time to time you may need to move subscriber mailboxes to another server that is faster or has more disk space available, or you may want to move mailboxes when you add new servers to your network. It is possible to move subscribers between servers without having to shut down Cisco Unity.
    Caution If you are moving a group of subscriber mailboxes at once, confirm that you do not inadvertently select the Unity Messaging System, UAmis, UVPIM, UOmni, or USbms Exchange mailboxes. To move these special mailboxes, see the "Moving the Unity Messaging System, UAmis, UVPIM, UOmni, and USbms Exchange Mailboxes for Cisco Unity 8.x" section.
    To move Exchange mailboxes from one server to another, follow the instructions in the Microsoft Exchange documentation. "

  • Problem connecting to MS Exchange 2007 on SBS 2008

    I am having problems connecting to Exchange via cfexchangeconnection. Our ColdFusion environment is CF9 Enterprise on Win 2008, and the Exchange host is Win SBS 2008 (which uses IIS7).
    After having worked through the documentation and following all procedures outlined at
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Developing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbec14f31 -7fed.html
    plus googling intensively, we have the following method to test the connection
    <cfexchangeconnection action="open"
             connection="thisExchangeConnection"
             server="portal.mydomain.com"
             protocol="https"
             formBasedAuthentication="true"
             formBasedAuthenticationURL="https://portal.mydomain.com/owa/auth/owaauth.dll"
             mailboxname="myMailBox"
             username="myUsername"
             password="myPassword" />
    <cfdump var="#thisExchangeConnection#">
    <cfexchangeconnection action="close"
             connection="thisExchangeConnection" />
    The IIS7 implementation in SBS 2008 is quite a lot different to Win 2008, so there are some question marks around some steps in the above documentation. However, we have made sure that:-
    1) you can use the credentials above to login via a web browser
    2) WebDav is on in IIS
    3) there is no IWA and forms based authentication is on
    4) certificates are installed correctly on both the CF and Exchange servers
    5) the myUsernameaccount has correct permissions in iis/owa/exchange
    Despite this, the net result is always
    Access to the Exchange server denied.
    Ensure that the user name and password are correct.
    From research it seems that a lot of people have issues where the underlying problem is actually an Exchange 440 timeout error where the password in the IUSR_<servername> and IWAM_<servername> (IIS/Active Directory) is out of sync.
    I was pinning my hopes on the above being the problem but now I find that in SBS 2008 there is no IWAM_<servername> server account.
    All this leads me to ask is SBS 2008 actually compatible with the cfexchange tags in CF9? There is nothing in the documentation that I can find that syays that it isn't, but given the amount of time we've spent on what should be straightforward I am wondering if we are on a hiding to nothing. Anyone from Adobe care to comment?
    If anyone has managed to get this to work specifically with SBS 2008, or has any advice I'd be grateful to here from you.

    Hi,
    As said by Sneff , I would also recommend to enable Logging to get more detailed information. Also follow
    Configuration of POP/IMAP on SBS 2008 Refer to :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2008/09/19/how-to-configure-sbs-2008-to-host-pop3-imap4.aspx

    As per the error code, you need to follow
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514/EN-US
    I would also disable AV on both Client machine and TEST , including the Filters of AV.

    Any help?

    Not a problem with Mail. I often send attachments of 8-10MB.
    It IS your ISP.
    Please don't fire off an answer like this when you alreay said you were "not familiar with exchange accounts".  This actually has nothing to do with his ISP.  The 8 - 10 mb files you send, I am assuming are not from exchange accounts, seeing as though you are not familiar with them.
    In fact, this IS a problem with Mail.  It has been going on for quite some time.  It has to do with Mail interacting with MS exchange 2007 servers.

  • Cannot connect Exchange account to mail app in Mavericks

    Hi all,
    I recently bought a new macbook air 13" and am trying to set up my email. I have a university email account with microsoft outlook/exchange which I used exclusively through the Office 365 web portal in a web browser for the past 3 years since I could not get it to sync with outlook on my old PC either. Now I am trying to connect that Outlook account to the Mail app on my new macbook and am getting nowhere.
    I input my email address and password - not recognized, even though it works perfectly on my iphone. The server is also not recognized. I get the error message "internet accounts couldnt log in to the exchange server autodiscover-s.outlook.com". I tried adding an "other" account in mail as well using the appropriate incoming and outgoing server addresses for office 365; no dice. Password is incorrect, outlook server is offline, etc etc etc.
    I was wondering if anyone knows how to get my account to connect in mail. I know this has been a common problem but I was not able to find an exact solution. Please forgive any of my ignorance as this is my first Mac computer.

    Peter: this is exactly what I have been doing, nothing is working. Still giving me an error that my password is wrong and it cannot reach the server.
    Linc: I tried this and was able to force it through setup. When I connected to the internet, it gave me an error saying my password was wrong.
    The password I am using is the one that goes along with my university email address that I use to login to the outlook web app along with my school .edu email address. Should I be using a different password for this exchange account?

  • Multiple Exchange accounts in Mail.app - is this possible?

    Hi folks,
    I would like to start using Mail.app with my Exchange accounts.
    Now, does Mail.app support this feature?
    If not can it be at least set up in such a way that through one single Exchange account I can see my other exchange accounts by delegating all the privileges to that main exchange accounts and thus doing it indirectly?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Just use IMAP for the accounts. I have 4 Exchange accounts in my Mail app and they are all set up that way. but yes, there can only be 1 Exchange account (which I believe has more to do with the Exchange API than Macs)
    hope this helps.

  • Gmail spam folders not visible in Mavericks mail.app

    I have upgraded the operating system to Mavericks on one of the Macs I use. In mail.app, I find that the Spam folder in my gmail accounts is not visible; the same is true of a number of other gmail folders that formerly appeared as subfolders of the main [Gmail] folder. I have found no mail.app preferences that might explain this disappearance. By accessing my gmail accounts via a web browser, I have confirmed that the Spam folders are still present in each.
    Thanks in advance to anyone else who reports this issue and all the more so to anyone who can suggest a fix.

    You have sub-folders of the Inbox???
    I did see a post on Mountain Lion forum where the person had the same setup and got it back. I know I was part of the thread, but I can't find it.
    You may need to remove the account and re-add it to Mail.

  • Exchange account crashes Mail app

    My 1st Gen iPhone has worked well with my Exchange account (and 3 other accounts) for more than a year, but since upgrading to 3.0 (and 3.0.1) the phone's Mail app crashes whenever it checks for mail. If I turn off the Exchange account, no crashes. Is there a fix for this behavior?

    Figured it out. I deleted the existing account and created a new one, using the same information, and Mail no longer crashes. Furthermore, it appears that email from this account is now pushed to the phone.

  • Importing mail from Gmail into new exchange account in Mail App

    Hi, all,
    I have just started a new consultancy, but until now I have been using my personal Gmail account for emails. The company has just set me up with a company email address, to use with Outlook Webmail Access and the native Mail App in my Macbook Pro (running Lion - 10.7.5).
    So I have about 200 emails in my personal account which I'd like to put into my company account.
    I have filtered and labelled all the emails I need in Gmail, I just need a way to get them into the company account, either using the Webmail thing, or the Mail App.Can anyone tell me a better way than to individually forward each email to the new address?
    Cheers,
    Ed

    Hey Dave, let me see if I understand, you want to forward a certain date range of messages to your local email client, from your virtual email client(gmail)?
    As far as I know, Gmail is in beta form and has been for over a year. there is currently no feature for the purpose you specified. I have submitted a suggestion to the beta team that reads as follows
    "Provide a means to select multiple emails you have archived or otherwise, from any date or date range, and send them to one or more email addresses of your choosing.
    This should be an option either after a search result of your email is returned, or by manually selecting (check box) the emails you have stored, to be forwarded to any specified recipients."
    I'm sorry there is no current solution for your situation at this time, outside of using your mac to access your gmail account, and individually selecting each email and choosing "forward" to sent it to your mac email account. A Mac is a very powerful machine, and you can utilize the "automator" to create a custom script to handle the task for you.
    I am not sure what you are wanting to do with your emails once they are in your mac account, but if the end result is to print each one, you can do that from within gmail itself. If you just want a copy of them, they are perpetually saved in gmail also, until you reach your 2 gig limit.
    I think if we knew more details about what your end result or goal is, we could come up with a means to an end in either a non-traditional, or more creative way. (not to mention you get 2gig of gmail free, and you have to pay for your storage on .mac)
