[Problem] MSI GTX 770 Blue Screen
Good morning. I am new to this forum, my name is Karl. In December last year I bought a MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr. The board works fine, but have had many blue screens with nVidia drivers (official site). I decided to install the drivers from the MSI jointer (331.65) which worked well for a few months. This April 15 I began to have blue screens again, I've had five so far.
I must say that my pc is in perfect condition and always keep in good condition.
My Specifications:
Processor: Intel I5 3570K 4.2 Ghz OC.
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-M
Processor Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212
HD: 1TB WD Blue
Video Card: MSI GTX 770 2GB
Memory: 2x4 GB Kingston Hyper Ram
Please help! Do not understand how MSI does not release updated drivers but the 331.65 are very old!
Remove current drivers in safemode using >>Driver Fusion<<. After reboot install latest Nvidia driver: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/73780/en-us

MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr 2GB OC Bios question
I got the MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr OC 2gb version and would like to know how to verify if I have the newest bios for the gpu.
This is the newest version listed on the website : http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N770_TF_2GD5OC.html#download
And thats an ss from GPU-Z, cant find the exact bios version in that downloadable zip from msi website and i cant seem to find the date created for the bios I have on my card now.
Having some problems with gpu load drops and microstuttering, so wondering if a bios update might sort out my problems. The vbios on MSI site is a different vbios series (NV282MS.331) and older than your current vbios. Your vbios (NV282MS.352) is dated 06/18/13 while the one from MSI site is dated 06/11/13. Both are legacy vbios versions (no GOP support). You can try the latest hybrid vbios (GOP support) which is NV282MH.351. It is attached.
Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash. -

MSI GTX 770 4Gb/DDR5 OC GPU usage is 0%
Hi Guys,
I've noticed that when I'm using the "MSI Game App" for OC my GTX770 to game mode or OC mode,
when benchmarking the card with "MSI Kombustor" I see that the GPU load stays at 0% all the time (using the MSI Afterburner SW).
Only when I'm switching the "MSI game App" to Normal mode, or shutting it down it completely and performing Benchmark tests again, the GPU load is rising up to 97%-99% usage.
Using the MSI Afterburner for monitoring the sensors, shows the same results in all scenarios - I can see the core temperature is climbing, but the GPU load stays at 0% all the time .
I'm using:
The latest NVIDIA GTX 770 drivers (331.82 & tried also 331.93),
The latest MSI game app (v1.0.0.13),
The latest MSI Afterburner Version 2.3.1 & Kombustor.
Mother Board: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R (rev 2)
Video Card: MSI GTX 770 4Gb/DDR5 OC
Power supply: Corsair RM750.
Any clue how to solve this problem will be much appreciated
Moreover - Can someone please tell me what benchmark score is considered as a good score for this HW setup (using the MSI Kombustor)?
Thanks in advance and a Happy new year to everyone,
SunShyQuote from: flobelix on 01-January-14, 22:00:00
The issue is no issue. The Gaming APP blocks usage reading to prevent boost 2.0 to throttle at low usage to have a relatively stable oc clockrate (to have best benchmark results). Don't use the Gaming APP and use Afterburner for overclocking and usage monitoring will work fine.
Thank you flobelix! -
MSI GTX 770 (N770-TF-4GD5/OC) Hybrid Bios Question
I have a MSI GTX 770 (N770-TF-4GD5/OC) that's currently using the NV282MS.3E0 bios. MSI Live Update 6 says I can update to NV282MH.3E0. However I'm currently using it with other hardware. The motherboard is an ASUS P5N-D. I am planning to update my whole system. So I wasn't sure if would be safe to update now or should I just wait until I get the new hardware before updating? I know using a UEFI Hybrid Bios does have some risks with older hardware. Thanks for any info given.
do not use live update!
it has a bad record of flashing the wrong VBIOS versions and if its not meant for your card you will have severe problems!
if you want a updated VBIOS or a GOP/Hybrid VBIOS ask us and we can supply you with what you need:
we just need 2 things to do it:
1: give us your serial number of your card (leave off the last 3 digits)
2: upload a copy of your current VBIOS to somewhere like dropbox and give us a link to it! (you can get the VBIOS copy by downloading >>GPU-Z<< and use the icon on the right of the VBIOS number to save a copy of your current VBIOS and then upload it somewhere where we can access it) -
MSI GTX 770 LIGHTNING - Unexpectedly Powers Off During 3DMark Demo (Ice Storm)
I run the 3DMark demo (I believe Ice Storm is the benchmark) on my PC containing this MSI GTX 770 LIGHTNING and at about 15 seconds or so, my PC suddenly powers off. I know that at least somebody else has experienced this issue before, but is this a common/semi-common problem? Is it something to be worried about? If I were to run other things (games, benchmarks, etc.) fine but still have problems with this demo, would that be indicative of an issue with the demo, or an issue with over-stressed hardware that still needs to be RMAed?
All other benchmarks runs fine, like even UNIGINE HEAVEN or games are now stable. PSU IS:

I7 3770 3.5
I even found somebody with similiar problem , look:

I simply can't get past the 1:38 mark without my computer fully turning off by itself during this Ice Storm video benchmark. I quickly checked the temps right after I turned my computer on after this crash and they didn't seem anything out of the ordinary. So, what do you think my problem is?

It has the max amps that's possible for this wattage.
It has more than enough

My Logitech Gamepad F710 on this mobo is not working as it should.
I play fifa 14, and my gamepad, the response was very poor. as analog becomes very hard, and passing the ball in play fifa 14 is very difficult. I compare my gamepad used in asus P8Z68 deluxe.
I use windows 8.1 proThat is most certainly a hardware clash.
Is there any Logitech firmware update or software?
If it remains sluggish or unresponsive then I would contact both Logitech and MSI technical to attend to it to see if there is either a firmware update or BIOS update that can be done to resolve the matter. -

Strange Noise from MSI GTX 770 Gaming
I recently bought a MSI GTX 770 Gaming and it makes a strange noise. It doesn't sound like coil whine to me, more of a clicking. I also don't think its the fans as it makes the exact same noise regardless of fan speeds. However, it does seem directly related to load, the higher the clock speed the louder it gets.
See the below video for the noise, if you listen carefully you can hear towards the end where it transitions from high load -> low load -> high light again.
Should I be concerned?Board: Asus P6T Deluxe v2
VGA: MSI GTX 770 Gaming
PSU: Corsair HX750 +3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V@62A, [email protected], +5VSB@3A
Processor: Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.0
MEM: Corsair Dominator 1600 3x2gb
HDD: Samsung Pro 256gb SSD
COOLER: Corsair H80i
OS: Windows 7 64bit Professional
It is definitely not the fans. The noise is irrelevant to fan speed. Also, did you copy the youtube link? I've heard coil whine and this does not sound the same. It's strange and seems to be coming from the PCB. -
MSI GTX 770 Lightning LE Edition --- Original/LN2 strange overclock results
Ok guys this is very strange OVERCLOCK results!! On my gtx 770 Lightning LE card i have 2 bios which need to be physically move(switch) by my hand on Graphis Card!
In ORGINAL Bios my OC results is higher and better then on LN2 Bios
MSI Settings on ORGINAL bios:
Name: GeForce GTX 770 Lightning LE
Driver Version: 334.89
Core Voltage: +100
Power Limired +109%
Core Clock: +150 Mhz GPU-Z-> GPU CLOCK: 1222; Boost: 1274 ; GPU 2.0 Boost: 1306 Mhz
Mmemory Clock: +500
Picture of ORIGINAL BIOS: http://www.mediafire.com/view/myfiles/#j6zvj9n0u6dhla2
LN2 BIOS:
Name: GeForce gtx 770
Driver Version: 334.89
Core Voltage: +12
Power Limited: +109%
Core Clock : +110Mhz ; GPU-Z-> GPU CLOCK: 1182; Boost: 1234 ; GPU 2.0 Boost: 1267 Mhz
Memory Clock: + 500Mhz
Picture of LN2 BIOS: http://www.mediafire.com/view/myfiles/#oq818435y296uj3
With LN2 BIOS we need to have more OVERCLOCK potential or not? For me ORGINAL bios give me more OVERCLOCK potential than LN2 BIOS. Why is it so?Quote from: flobelix on 26-March-14, 04:10:14
Obviously you don't understand. LN2 allows to set higher voltages not increase oc potential with the same settings. When setting less extra voltage in LN2 than in normal vbios results can't be better.
Then why is voltage on "LN2 BIOS" only +12 and on ORIGINAL BIOS much better +100?
Look this: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/09/22/msi_geforce_gtx_780_lightning_video_card_review/3#.UzHuZPldWio
He have more OC potencial with LN2 BIOS! I really don't understand! And in Afterburner writes: MSI gtx 780 Lightning (LN2)
And when is my card on ORIGINAL bios in Afterburner writes " Graphics Card: MSI GTX 770 Lightning LE"
When is card on LN2 bios in Afterburner writes "Graphics Card: GeForce gtx 770"
Look my 2 pictures -

I suggest that you test with one piece of RAM at a time. It may be a RAM problem.
Do post the code of the BSOD here to let us identify what the exact problem may be.

MSI GTX 770 driver keeps falling
Hello,
I am proud owner of MSI GTX770 OC,but now(well, maybe for half a year) I continuosly having problems with about 3-5 sec blackouts. When its occur, bubble appear from right lower corner telling that driver Geforce Experience v. xxxxx stop working. Sometimes blackout is permanent, I hear sounds from game but my monitor just put itself into sleep as its not get any ,.instructions". I am not sure what it could be as it is happens very randomly, sometimes I turn on computer and, as I am using Intel Xeon procesor without intergrated card, have resolution about 400x100 with 8 colours so only thing I can do is restart. I was searching if anyone else have this issue and cant find anything. I was thinking maybe cable is somehow damaged, using DVI-DVI.Well, it occur in very different situtations... Nothing happens for a week, then its start again and then again nothing for some time. But for last two weeks its occur too much so I am getting pretty annoyed. I using this pc mostly for gaming, playing almost only world of warcraft on ultra so card temp si about 60C all the time. But I dont think its problem of gaming, because for example when I wake up today, I was going to take a breakfast, then turn on computer. After about 20sec(using SSD) everything seems ready so I turn on browser to check something and then its happens again...but totally, I had to restart comp, but graphic didnt load and there was some horrible resolution and colours like if gc doesnt working. So I restart again and then everything ok. Then I was playing for two hours with no problem. I was going to make and eat some dinner quiting everything and when I came back it was there again, pc button glow like pc running but doesnt react on anything, so I have to restart. As long as I remember, its never happens when I watched some movie.
Most times its fine, I usually play even 10 hours in a row without any problem but when blackout occur there is a high chance that there will be another soon.
I dont think I have bad driver. I am using GeForce Experience which is just only driver for NVIDIA cards and there were about 10 updates since its happens first and no one of these helps with that.
