Thanks for the reply.
First are you sure that you did not move, delete, or rename any files and folders that were imported into the project before you
saved closed it. In other words, all you did was to update 12 to 12.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? If that is correct...
1. Close the program.
2. Go
Local Disk C
Users
Owner
AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Premiere Elements
12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file which you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole
12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders,
and Drives active so that you can see the complete path mentioned.
More later.

The next step will be to review the installation logs for the cause of the installation failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret your installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Probleme beim registrieren von Premiere Elements 12

    Hallo zusammen,

    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\
    Macintosh HD/Libary/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/
    Windows: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
    Mac: /etc

Bin mittlerweile ziemlich verzweifelt. Kann mir jemand helfen?
    Vielen Dank im Voraus.

  • Problem encountered with Adobe premiere Element 4 et DVD sony Handicam

I have a sony Handycam DCR/DVD203E . Window Vista edition familiale premium service pack 1 .Adobe Première Elements 4 .
I take 10 rushes of 2 minutes each . I finalised the DVD for importing it on my computer under Adobe Elements 4 .
When i do " add médias " , I only get two files , one called VTS_01_1.VOB which is the total of my 10 rushes but it's only one rush of 20 minutes .I get also an error message " C:\users\Videos\20081125\VIDEO_TS... FORMAT ERROR or file correupted/a component needed is may be not installed .
I shoud get my 10 rushes of 2 minutes instead of one rush of 20 minutes film .

Just a few clarifications first. Rushes, are the quick (hence the name rush) optical prints made from cine negative film. Their intention is for viewing, quickly, the results of the previous day's filming. They are not color corrected, or manipulated in any way. They are also not edited, other than being spliced together, take after take, so the crew and decision-makers can see what was captured. These are usually discarded soon after selections are made and decisions are finalized. The original negatives are then cut in the editing process and, when complete, are printed to positive projection stock with color and density corrections. Now, the final output is more often some digital format for commercial distribution.
What we have are 2 min. Clips, in digital capture parlance. However, lets go back a moment to the first paragraph. Just like the negative film stock, this Sony camera shoots to DVD. Just like cine negative, with an editing workflow, something else has to be done. Unlike the negative film stock, the DVD can actually be viewed in an optically correct, albeit unedited, format.
The .VOB files on the DVD are part of the inherent file structure of that medium, the DVD-video and are made up of MPEG-2 (DVD-spec) compressed files with very specific criteria. Unfortunately, the aspects that go into creating an instantly viewable medium, add some problems to doing any editing with it - first there is the structure .VOB, next, the initial compression to MPEG-2. Neither is ideal, if one plans on using an NLE (Non-Linear Editing) workflow. The .VOB structure will have to be converted at some point, and the MPEG-2 compression will have to be decompressed into another format, and most likely, be re-compressed back to MPEG-2, if the final output will go to DVD. Substitute that second MPEG-2 re-compression with Flash, WMV, or whatever, should the intent be streaming media.
Steve has addressed the problem head-on, which is a good way to tackle it. This is intended to just add a bit, to what he has already written, not to correct anything, or change anything.
With the proliferation of more and more non-tape capture devices, i.e. cameras, on the market, one must make a conscious decision, as to what they will ultimately wish to do with the footage captured. While it CAN be edited, with certain limitations, it is first designed to be viewed in its raw form. It handles this last job well - just pop the DVD/mini-DVD into a player and view, or hook the camera directly to the TV (or through other devices attached to the TV) and view. Editing, however, becomes a bit more complex, and needs to be well-thought out, and planned for.
The FAQs, at the top of these pages, go a long way to helping make informed decisions, come editing time. The compromises are outlined pretty well. Yes, there
    b WILL
be compromises, as the medium is not designed to be editable in the first place. It is a delivery/viewing medium. This should be a strong consideration, when shopping for a video, or still/video camera. What will I want to do with the material generated by that camera? Do I want to just record and view, or do I want to edit, before the final presentation of the material? If one is here, in the Adobe Premiere Elements (or Premiere Pro) forum, then it is likely that some editing is intended. If one has gone with a tape-based capture device, the editing path is clear - Capture, edit, Export. If one has gone with a HDD (hard drive), DVD, magnetic storage camera, decisions have to be made and some planning must go into the process of editing. Then is the time to learn the proper workflow (will differ dependant on the exact process of capture, that the device uses), and will pay dividends. Learning what compromises will have to be made and how best to keep these to a minimum, will be needed.
The ease, with which these non-tape devices capture the footage, does not belie what lies ahead, should one wish to later edit. They seem so simple - shoot, then view. However, there the simplicity ends. It is later editing, that must be heavily contemplated. These forums, and especially the FAQs (remember, they are at the top of the main pages) are a good place to learn what comes next. The simplicity quickly peels away and a lot of new techniques need to be learned. As Dorothy commented, were not in Kansas anymore, Toto... If one wishes to get good results from the editing of this type of material, they need to be ready to learn. This might also be an instance, where learning by reading (first), is far preferable to learning by doing. It is far less frustrating. One also needs to be ready to dig deeply into their toolbox, which might well contain a lot of extra programs, to accomplish the task, in the best manner. Even for tape-based editing, one can never have enough tools in that toolbox, i.e. 3rd party utilities and programs.
As an aside, I use PEs big brother, Premiere Pro, for my editing. However, I picked up PE as another tool in the process, as it does some things better than big brother does. Never be shy of using the right tools, even if it means that you have to go outside of PE and even Adobe.

  • Problem sound in adobe premiere elements 12

Hi, the sound of my project in premiere elements 12 is gone. No sound on video1 track and soundtrack, but the comment track I can hear.
This is really strange. Even if I transport a new item with sound it doesn't work. What can I do? I open a new project and the sound was oké. Can you help me?

    Chickwithbrains
This is the same situation that many have found themselves in lately.
It is associated with narration being generated and killing the rest of the audio in the project.
I have tried to reproduce the problem several times without success. I did reproduce it once unexpectedly. So unexpectedly that I could not reproduce it again.
But, I have something I would like you to try since you currently have the problem to work on; whereas, I do not.
The Premiere Elements user Llamadude99 wrote in the following thread
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6174692#6174692
I was trying different things and I went to tools to narration. I removed the mute audio before recording, then deleted the narration I previously did and then pressed undo, to bring it back and my audio returned on my video. Very strange but it worked. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to try to help me with this situation.I really appreciate it.
We would be interested if Llamadude99's solution will work for you as it did for her. I am assuming by comment track that you are referring to the Narration track.
    Thanks.

  • I bought the pkg. of Photoshop & Premiere Elements 10 in 2012.  I now want to update to  Premiere Elements 13 without updating Photoshop.  Can I do this?  Will you please tell me the steps I need to take?

I purchased Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10 as a package in 2012.  I now want to update the Premiere to the 13 edition, without updating Photoshop.  Can I do this?  Will you please tell me the steps I need to take?

Just buy version Premiere Elements 13.
Even if you don't get the "upgrade" price, you can probably find it for about that cost on sites like Amazon.com.
You can keep Photo Elements 13 if you'd like. The only downside is that Premiere Elements 13 and Photo Elements 10 won't share the same Organizer catalog. Otherwise, they'll get along just fine.

  • How do I apply the latest update for premiere elements?

I have Premiere Elements 9 and i want to put in a disk menu and other stuff which i know how to do. I want to download the full version of the latest update provided by adobe at: http://www.adobe.com/special/premiereel/downloads/
which provides more themes and what not. However on the download intructions it says provide a path, but i dont know where to. Can someone help me?
I have downloaded it before but with no success i dont know where i downloaded the files to and when i started up premiere elements it came up with the message that said there was an update that could be downloaded which lead me to the link above in the first place.

After you press the download All Content1 for Windows, then you would first be provided with a pop up window saying, 'Download Akamai Netsession Interface', you need to click on the link 'download the installer'.(This is not the actual content but a Download Manager to download the content)
Then know your Download location(see nealeh's post), go to that location and double click the Akamai_NetSession_Installer.exe file.
It will provide you with a 'Please select a download folder' window. Now you an browse through directories to any location(where you want the download), and select the location, click OK.
The Akamai Download Manager will start downloading your content.
After it completes, your download will be at the location you specified.
A dialog box will come saying 'PremiereElements_9_Content_ALL.exe' is a file which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?
    Click Yes.
    Then follow the Installation steps.
If the dialog box does not come by itself, go to the download location and double-click on PremiereElements_9_Content_ALL_LS15.exe

  • Problems adding sequences in Premiere elements 7

I have Premiere elements 7. One problem is that I cannot import all the film sequences I have in one folder on my computer at once. I have to import every sequence separarately. Then  I can insert some scenes in the sceneline and the next ones I cannot. Very frustrating. Would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks. Fadel

    Fadel,
Those are the Project settings. For AVCHD material, you will need to use the proper AVCHD Project Preset.
To emphasize what Steve said, the Project Preset MUST match the Source Footage, as close to 100%, as is possible. At this stage, the output is not an issue, and would not even be considered.* With the proper Preset for the Source Footage, editing will be as smooth, as is possible, with the least amount of issues.
When the Project is complete, THEN one will determine the output - but not until then.
As an example, taking your case, you have AVCHD footage, so would use an AVCHD Preset. When editing was complete, as you do not wish to produce to a BD (Blu-ray Disc), I would recommend this workflow:
Export/Share as PAL (your case), DV-AVI, and then create a New Project (this will be for authoring to DVD-Video), with the PAL DV Preset. Import that PAL DV-AVI into it, set any Chapter Markers, choose any Menus, and then author/burn to DVD-Video. [Do keep your original AVCHD Project, probably via the Archiver, in case you do later get a BD burner, and want to author a BD Project.]
Good luck, and wish that I could help with the German to Swiss translations.
    Hunt
    * The one exception with Source Material and Project Preset is when you do NOT have any Video, but only Still Images. Then, and only then, you would decide what your necessary output would be, You would then choose a Project Preset, that matches that output, and Scale your Still Images to match that. Edit and output to those specifications. Remember, this is ONLY when you have no Video to start with.

  • Problem slow motion Adobe Premiere Elements 7

    Hello,
    i`ve got a problem.
If i import the media (from DVD) into Premiere Element 7 i can see the film material BUT i can only see it in slow motion!
    What should i do?
    Best regards!

For the moment, I am going to take another approach to the issue that you presented. I could be wrong, but I would like to rule it in or out.
By any chance, did you decide that you wanted a better look at the Timeline frames and decided to expand the Timeline? But, you did not do that using the slider above the Timeline, but rather used the Time Stretch Tool or some other means to increase the duration/length of the video on the Timeline?
Decreasing the duration of the Timeline video will speed up the action, whereas increasing the duration of the Timeline video will give you slow motion and, if you do not click Maintain Audio Pitch in the Time Stretch dialog, distorted audio.
In your case, was the audio distorted as well as the video in slow motion?

  • Problems capturing DV into Premiere Elements 11

I've got a Cannon GL-2 that I've used with Premiere Elements for years with no problem. Now with 11 I can't seem to get it to capture the video. I've set the project settings to DV but when I try to capture video via firewire the controls on the screen either don't work or are very delayed in function. When it does finally begin to capture video it freezes up and crashes. The only error message I've gotten is that the project settings don't match the camera, but changing the project setting to DV seemed to eliminate that - however, still no capture.

What are you capturing into Premiere Elements Capture Window...DV standard or widescreen data?
Are you setting the project preset yourself or are you letting the project do that for you automatically?
If you are letting Premiere Elements 11 take charge of the project preset, then look to see what it has set.
Refer to Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio.
    Set the project preset yourself.......
If you do not see the following, then set the project preset yourself manually with File Menu/New/Project using "Force Selected
Project Setting on this Project", either NTSC DV Standard or NTSC DV Widescreen.
To verify project settings set automatically by project, Edit Menu/Project Settings/General to look for under Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio
    For DV Standard data
    DV NTSC
    29.97 frames per second
    720 x 480
    D1/DV NTSC (0.9091)
    For DV Widescreen data
    DV NTSC
    29.97 frames per second
    720 x 480
    D1/DV NTSC Widescreen (1.2121)
Please review. We will be watching for your results.
