Problem Now with SnapNDrag for screenshots

Up until SL, I used SnapNDrag to capture screenshots from DVDs. Now I get just the gray and white squares. I've tried selection, window and screen. All the same. Websites will screenshot just fine, just not the dvd - either running or paused. Any ideas? It's probably just some setting I need to change, but I can't figure it out.

I'm having this problem too. I have the lastest SnapnDrag 2.5.1 and it now doesn't take captures in Apple's DVD Player 5.2
Any help is appreciated.
Also, if this app is broken what else would you recommend?

Since you have no credit history, my guess is you would need at least a year of on time payments, and I'm not sure a pre-paid account would qualify as you can stop at any time.
You didn't specify your age, but getting started int he credit world is not easy - you may try applying for a gas card, or a credit card, and USE them, pay them off each month - and expect to take a year or more to establish a record.

Changed Calibration Settings, Big Problems Now with sRGB

I use Lightroom 1.3.1 on a PC with Windows. I've been using Lightroom for about a year for the same workflow (creating images for web primarily). I use a Canon 5D.
Today I changed the Camera Calibration Settings in the Develop module. I downloaded the "CAL ACR Calibrated" Settings and imported them. I may have downloaded settings for the 30D if that matters. With the new calibration settings, my reds looked MUCH better and I was very pleased.
Then I went to Library module. In that module the colors were washed out as before. Hmmm. Anyway, I exported to Photoshop using ProPhoto RGB (as always). The photos looked fine in Photoshop with the same great colors.
THEN I tried to convert the photos to sRGB. The nice reds went back to the washed out, orangish color they were before. I tried all the different conversion options with the same result. My work flow hasn't changed otherwise, and I have never had this problem. (My Photoshop color settings should be correct and my monitor is profiled, etc). For the record, photos that I exported previously (before making the calibration changes) still look the same and render to sRGB the same as always.
Can anyone please help!? Is this a bug in Lightroom?

It is definitely possible but would be very suprising as your monitor is supposed to be wider than sRGB in red. What happens when you take the saturated sRGB red image in Photoshop and soft proof for your monitor profile? You should NOT check preserve RGB numbers. Now also check "Show gamut warning." If sRGB red is really outside your monitor's gamut, the image should turn solid gray. Even if the red is outside the gamut the shift in color should be small though and you should not get the described huge shift to orange, which makes me think the calibrator must be off a bit.

The first part is true, but the second part is only true on wide gamut monitors. Your monitor is almost equal to sRGB (according to the manufacturer at least) and Firefox should look almost exactly the same as Photoshop if you use sRGB and have it correctly calibrated. On most people's monitors, colors will be less saturated than what you are seeing as almost every laptop LCD screen out there is narrower in gamut than sRGB.

I don't think any thought went into that. The rendering Lightroom and ACR use is based on calibration that Thomas Knoll did using reference charts. They are supposed to make ACR render colors as correctly as possible into the reference space (much wider than sRGB) under the reference conditions. No attempt is made to compress the color into sRGB or so. There is unfortunately quite a bit of variation between cameras causing the oranges that people report.

As always smugmug (and I love them BTW) is trying to solve the wrong problem. You cannot fix people's screens and browsers. If people do not calibrate their monitor and do not use color managed browsers (i.e. Safari and Firefox 3.0 beta) there is nothing you can do to help them but tell them to ... calibrate their monitors and to use color managed browsers. If people buy wide gamut monitor and do not calibrate and color manage they are asking for trouble. Luckily they are still out of reach for most consumers.

- if all else fails, buy a new calibrator
- if that fails, then try switching to my older monitor...hope not
These are great steps. You definitely should try recreating the profile from scratch. Also, the Huey Pro or Colorvision Spyder calibrators can be had for <$70 if you want to check your calibrator. Both give great results. Your calibrator should do a good job, but it is always possible that you have a dud. Again, your monitor should give a response very close to sRGB in unmanaged apps, making images appear the same or very close in managed and unmanaged apps if the screen is calibrated.

New computer, problems now with iTunes

We very recently upgraded our computer to a HP and have Windows 7. Downloaded iTunes 64 and all seemed OK. We have 2 x iPod Touches (one each for kids) and I have an iPhone 4S. Tried to open iTunes with one of the iPods and figured out that I had to authorise new computer. Done. Also had to transfer over from old computer to new computer ???? library (cant remeber now AARRGGHH). Think i did that correctly. Problem is now when I link up either Apple device with iTunes via cable (no WI FI) iTunes will not open up automatically, need to shut computer off and restart, iTunes screen freezes and although it shows what apps are on each Apple devive they are all shown superimposed ontop of each other on one sreen. Any help/suggestions will be appreciated. i have already removed iTunes and downloaded the programme twice.

With default domain, i can use POP with SSL but for hosted domain, I can't use POP with SSL and received a message +-ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed!+
In file PopProxyAService.cfg on MMP server, I uncomment line default:HostedDomains yes but it's not work
Please help me solve this problem!

Hosted domain that can not be used IMAPs and POPs because I have moved from other mail systems
When I created another account on this hosted domain, this user can use POPs and IMAPs normal. But old users can't use POPs IMAPs
I don't know why old users can't use POPs and IMAPs ?

Love my IPAD, but my almost perfect machine has problems now with exchange

About a week ago my IPAD stopped accessing my e-mail from work. Yes, I upgraded to IOS 4 several weeks before the syncing problem occurred. I bought my IPAD earlier this year and never had problems with exchange. I spoke to an IT person with the company that runs the server ( I work for a state agency) and was told my account is fine and nothing has changed on their end.
When I try to check my exchange mail I now get "cannot get mail. Connection to server failed".
The formally working exchange account (when I tried to delete than input the exchange account again) now says," unable to verify".
Please note I can use Safari and check my exchange account with the same information to the online web acces (OWA) for Microsoft exchange (username and password) and it works. This same information was formally working fine via my iPad.
Also, I added the "outlook 2007" app and had the same problem with checking my exchange account.
I have tried the hard reset, restoring, ect. Any help would be great.

Slightly different Exchange problem on both iPad & iPod.
I just started my office/business acct on Exchange thru Comcast. Despite their advising me it would not work on Mac without Outlook or using Entourage, I did get it to work with MacMail.
For the Comcast Exchange acct the server I use in MacMail is: mail.po1.comcast.net
My problem on iPad & iPod is that when I Sync with my Mac Pro & iTunes, the new exchange mail acct on my 2 mobile devices does not show up. I have 3 email accts on all my devices & the original 2 are visible under iTunes/info/Sync Mail Accts but the new Exchange acct is not visualized.
I have gone down to iTunes/Info/Advanced & checked off to "Replace info on this iPad" (or iPhone) & under this checked off "Mail Accts" but it does not add my new Exchange acct from either iPad or iPhone onto the list of Mail Accts under Sync Mail Accts.
The Exchange acct does seem to work on both iPad & iPhone despite this.
Why is it not showing up when I Sync?
Do I need to do something else?

Problems connecting with wireless for 2 years! please help!

I have had my mac for almost 2 years. When I first got it unfortunatley I did not have internet at home so I was stealing internet from my neighbor and it was working pretty good. I then got my internet back on after about a month of fighting with ATT because they wanted me to pay for a router. They gave us the same router a 2wire gateway 2701HG-B router (whatever that means). The wireless internet stoped working. I took the computer in they fixed it for a while by changing something. 4 months later it stopped working so I took it in again. They fixed it ... For a while. Then it stopped working.

If you have an history with this case, they may accept to do something even if warranty is over, but that's not for sure.
Does your wi-fi work on some other access points ? (neighbors, fast-foods...)
Usually, when this happens during warranty period, the machine is exchanged.

I've had no problem whatsoever with itunes for months, and now out of nowhere it wont show any songs on shuffle even though i have it clicked to my library, it says none are available. Whenever I play songs on a playlist it wont move to the next song, will only play one song and stop. it does this throughout itunes. I tried repairing and reinstalling

You unchecked all the songs.
To the left of the song name is a little box. When you click it, it turns blue and a checkmark appears in it.
iTunes will only "automatically" play songs that are checked.
You can check/uncheck all the songs in your visible list by holding CTRL while checking/unchecking one of them.

I think this new scrolling behaviour was introduced with Lion. You do get used to it pretty quickly (well I did). Are you sure that deselecting Natural Scrolling in Mouse Prefs doesn't re-instate the previous behaviour, it does here.

How is the C6200 connected to the iMac, is it via USB or Wi-Fi? If it's via Wi-Fi please make sure it's connected to the router using the printer's Network Wizard. Then click System Preferences - Print & Scan and assuming the iMac is on the same network as the printer, if it is the printer should be seen. If it's not then click the + sign and add the printer. Apple provides instructions in Printing Overview OS X Lion

Check Settings/iTunes and AppStore/AppleID and make sure that your AppleID is filled in. If not , sign out and sign in with the correct info.
To make sure that no other apps or videos are on your device than the one you bought, set it up as new device, explained here: How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Content that is not bought with your ID can't be used on your phone, that's why his ID and password is asked when you try to use those apps downloaded in the store.
