WPC Problem after creation of new Site - no "Edit Page" Link available

Hello,
I have a problem with WebPageComposer (WPC) and Edit Page link.
We are currently on EP 7.01 SP6.
(I have the wpc_editor_role for my user)
I am doing the following:
1) I create a new site, (derived permissions for all folders is wpc_editor_role - Full Control),
2) I Create some article within its Site Content folder
3) I create a new web page in its Web Pages folder
4) assign the article to the web page and publish it
5) add web page within Site Navigation as a new node
6) I used Publish Site Navigation
After clicking on the web page within Web Pages folder it does a preview.
Our older WPC content does display the Edit Page link - the new one does not.
What step am I missing here?
Maybe it is an upgrade issue?

P.S.: copying one of our older WPC pages into my new site + renaming it via KM + removing old content + assigning new one does display the correct link after publishing it! Any indeas?

It sounds like your are doing all the right actions, I don't think that your missing any step in the process, but please consider the following.
Are you using a custom WPC layout template? The reason I ask is that I have developed a number of WPC custom templates and in some circumstances I have needed to remove/hide the "pageheader" section of the template. This action removed the links from displaying at the top of the page. Try creating and publishing a web page using a SAP standard WPC layout and see if the edit link appears once the page is published.
The editing and preview page views do not display the "edit" link, they only display the other page header links that can be assigned to a page. The edit link is only visible when viewing the page via the portal, not in edit mode. Another question, was the deployment of KMCWPC successful and without error? I have experienced issues where the deployment did not fully complete, causing some subtle issues regarding publishing of WPC content and redeploying KMCWPC fixed the issue. I hope this helps.

Measuring point Not on device

Hi ALL
We are on MI 7.1.
We are facing an issue with Measuring points. During the first sync the Measuring points were downloded to the device.
We created new Measuring points in R/3 and these new ones are available on the Middleware but on the device.
The Funct Locations linked to these Measuring points are available on the device. There are other Measuring points available for these Funct. Locations ( downloded during the first sync) but the new Measuring points are not available on device.
Did someone came across this issue, what can be the reasons behind this?

Measuring point External Number range

I have already followed the steps given by you only I cannot find the assignment of measuring point category to the number range. I have also done the number range assignment for equipment and functional location but there it exists here it does not.
It is also showing me the error of external number while creating the new measuring point. Please do guide about the assignment to the number range.

Measurement Point Synchronisation

I am not getting Measurement Points on the Mobile Device.
I have read several of the threads related to the replication of Measurement Points but have been unable to find the answer to my problem:
I have run the Function MAM30_041 in the backend R/3 where it selects 157 Measurement Points.
I have created a Variant in SPRO ALM_ME_GENERAL for the Measurement Points and executed RALM_ME_MEASP_FULL_DOWNLOAD_SD.
On checking table MEREP_207 in the MI there are 35 records. However, after synchronising the mobile device, I am not getting any measurement points for the technical objects to which they are assigned.
The technical object are available on the mobile device but no measurement points.
The configuration for the Scenario assigned to the user has the following settings:
Defects Recording: Defects Recording Active
Notification Type: Z1 (our own)
Meas. Recording: Measurement Recording Activated

Hi John,
from your description you have two problems:
1. Not all measurement points that are configured for replication are being replicated
2. Equipment which is expected to have measurement points downloaded to the device does not have them.
Problem 1 - meas. point is configured for replication but does not come to MEREP_207 table..
The best way to understand how many meas.points are configure for replication are:
1. Put a breakpoint in RALM_ME_MEASP_FULL_DOWNLOAD_SD before the RFC call to the middleware system and check how many meas.point keys are going to be transferred.
2. Right after executing RALM_ME_MEASP_FULL_DOWNLOAD_SD check how many keys are transferred in MEREP_DELTABO.
If you see that more keys are transferred in MEREP_DELTABO that eventually make it way to MEREP_207 - that is real problem that have to be investigated and fixed. That is what I would do to investigate the reason:
1. transaction se22 to see if there any errors
2. figure out which meas. points were not replicated in MEREP_207 and execute BAPI MAMXX_041_getdetail on the backend for these meas.points. Fails/error of this BAPI is the reason why meas.point was not replicated.
Problem 2 - equipment is downloaded to the device without meas.points it references.
There can be 2 reasons why it is being downloaded without meas.points:
1. meas. point that this equipment references is not replicated in MEREP_207 because of the problem that was discussed before. Once you fixed the issue and all 137 meas.points are replicated, the problem with equipment will be solved as well.
2. equipment is referencing meas.point that is not configured for replication (variant for meas.points that you configured in MAM excluded this meas. point). To figure this out: execute MAMXX_031_getdetail for the equipment in question, check that all meas. points in table "Equipment meas. points" are within meas.point variant. If not - fix the variant and fix problem 1 to ensure that all meas.points are replicated.

Struts : creation of new row problem.

I have a problem with creation of a new row, using struts.
I've created simple struts browse-edit page. From browse page I go to 'edit-new' page. My object have a primary key - ID. I'm initializing it from sequence in create() method after call to super.create().
So, when I'm forwared to 'edit-new' form from 'browse' form new row created with id taken from sequence. When I go back to 'browse' form by 'update' action it looks that another row created in View object (and onother ID is taken from sequence). Then, if I have right understanding of how it works, all attributes from first created row are copied to the second row. When ID is copied, I've got

If I switch off filleng ID from the sequence everething works. It looks, that it fails, when It's coping ID (it gets two rows with the same ID).
So, my question is - why two rows creating? And is there a way how to solve this problem, without switching off filling ID from a sequence (I really need this)?

After reading this I am not sure what the solution is.
I've created a VO that contains 2 EO's that are using sequence and NO trigger. I've tested this in the app module testor and it works. After using the Wizard to build a Struts/BC4J app I get the following when pressing "update" after creating a new record - "JBO-25013: Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[279 ]".
Charles Gayraud suggested changing the method that sets the PK but I'm not sure what to change as there are 2 sections that deal with setting the PK, neither of which match the methods in Charles suggestion. see below
So what is the solution here?

Update Measurement Point with new Position

Hi,
I need to update existing measuring points with new measurement positions. I was looking at FM "MEASUREM_POINT_RFC_SINGLE_002", but don't know how to pass the new Measurement Position to that.
Can anybody please let me know how has already implemented this?

I wrote the code like this. But it's not updating the Measurement Point with the new position.

how to create measuring point and measuring point counter.
what is the difference between these two.
what is measuring point category,
what is measuring point
what is measuring point object
what is measuring position.
can anyone explain me in an easy for better understanding.

Firstly a Measuring point is nothing but, a factor which you measure on an equipment/FL. (Temperature, Vibration etc)
Then, a measuring point is created either on a Functional location or on an Equipment.
IK01 is the T-code for creating it.
If it is for F/L you have to use IFL as measuring point object, when it is an equipment you use IEQ
Generally these two will be in use.
In the IK01 screen if you tick the counter checkbox, the MP becomes a counter.
Example for simple MP is temperature.
And example for a Counter MP is 'Litres of petrol consumed'
In the first case you don't need to add the temperature measurements, whereas in the petrol consumption you may wish to have the cumulative value of readings taken for a period of time.
The measuring position: Example : If you are measuring the temperature of a Motor on the Drive side, you may put 'Drive End' in this field, or similar many applications.
Category would group these MPs.
In case of need you may define in customisation a sep[arate MP category.
Then each time you read a MP through IK11 or other methods a Measuring Document is created.

Replicate in the Master controller and creation of new user with cisco prime infrastructure 2.1.

We have multiple controllers Cisco WLC 5508 (all running software version 7.6.120.0) distributed in various buildings and a controller in other control building (also Cisco WLC 7.6.120.0 5508) operating as Master and backup of the buildings's controllers .
Each building is radiated such an SSID that is used as a validation of the user connected to that SSID web portal each controller (in the WLAN, Security -> Layer 3 -> Web Policy), using the local database to validate the user.
The problem is that the local database of users is not being replicated between controllers buildings and the Master controller, so if you drop the controller of a building, the Master controller begins to provide service to the buildings access points, but the equivalent radiated SSID cannot able to validate users.
I need know if it's possible through Cisco Prime Infrastruture 2.1, first replicate in the Master controller on the basis of existing controllers buildings each local data and, second, that the creation of new users are automatically perform both the controllers like to the Master .

As noted earlier, it is not advisable to use the root user to log in for normal use. New users and groups can be created by navigating to Administration > Users, Roles & AAA as shown in the preceding figures. It would help to chalk out what are the various levels at which you want to distribute the users, and to create those roles first. It doesn’t really matter whether you create users or groups first. New users can be easily added by going to Administration > Users, Roles & AAA > Users > Add Users > Select “Add Users” from the drop-down on the right side. Once you get into the add user workflow, fill in the username, password, and local authorization for this user as shown in the figure below.
A virtual domain can also be assigned to the users when you define their roles by selecting the virtual domain on the left side and moving it to the right side as shown in the image below (left).

Measuring Point for Tools and Die Maintenance

Dear All,
I am trying to map the following process:-
My client has 10 press machines and around 250 Dies for punching. Dies are assembled to press machines and they produce jobs by punching.
Client has an Preventive Maintenance plan for each Die in terms of number of strokes punched by an Die. for e.g PM is done after every 300000, 600000, 900000, 1200000 strokes. Estimated life is 1200000.
What they want is when production person confirms the production order say for 10000 jobs the counter of the die should increase by 10000.......and so on. When the counter reaches 300000 preventive maintenance call should be scheduled.
What i have done is created an Die as an Equipment with PRT as equipment category. Created an measuring point for that Die, assined Usage formula etc.
I have created an Maintenance plan for that die in which i have assigned the strategy (IP11) which contains the stroke cycles 300000, 600000.........etc.
Assigned the Die as a PRT to the material which is to be produced in the Routing.
When i confirm the production order the counter of the PRT increases which i can check IK13.
What i am expecting is that in IP10 system should update the counter automatically so that when the counter reaches to 300000 maintenance call wil be scheduled and order will be generated.
I would request you to please give me some input on this.

I have seen the screen shots & there are problems with the following:
1) Counter overflow reading
You have entered 130; keep it as- 999999 (it is the reading after which system starts counting from 0 value)
2) Formula that you have used;
You have used the formula- SAPF02; do not use this. Create you own formula with following details: SAPF99 (new formula) = SAP_20 * SAP_09
3) You have manually entered the reading for the measuring point; do not use it. System will calculate the measurement reading from PRT usage value.
CREATE a single measuring document with reading as '0'.
4) Also in CA01; you need to assign this PRT in routing with "EQUIPMENT" & not material. Also make sure that in the same screen (assignment of PRT- basic data) maintain usage value as 1 (if this is not maintained, measuring doc. will NOT be updated).
5) Now when you confirm the production order, based on number of units created; system will automatically create the measuring doc.
If there is any problem with CA01, CO01 or CO11n; ask your PP consultant to assist.
Do let me know if there is any problem in this.

Deletion of Measuring points from the Notification

I have created a notication and attched manully some measuring point. (Extras-->Measuing document, New Entries and added the measuing points). I want to delete the measuring points from the notification. It displayes the msg "1 MeasDocs cannot be deleted as they already exist in the database"
Note:The measuring points are not attached to the tech object.
Please let me know how can we delete this MP's or what alternative i need to follow.

For using archiving programme take help of basis help see firstly create programme on archiving object
PM_IMRG whcih is the object for measuring document then by ebtering this prepare the archving file run in test mode
then deletion of data with date wise reading in test mode follwed afterwards.
you have to confirm the data before the deletion

While creating the measuring points, the system generated internal numbers get alloted to MP, though in creation stage.But I have not saved the MP and came out of the transaction. But my number got wasted and when try to create new MP a new number is getting alloted. How to prevent this?
((I don't want to lose numbers as these are in symmetry for two different systems and has to be corelated by us , as & when required.))
I didn't find any thing in customizing (like what we have for notification-early number allocation).
Please reply.

Hi,
You cannot adjust this through customizing, measurement document numbers are always issued early. If document not saved then that number is lost. Buffering can also cause gaps to occur in the number range.

Problem in creation of Customer Master

Hi gurus,
I am facing problem in creation of customer master.
I have created a account group zz01 copying from 0001.which has internal no. assignement for the customer.
Now i am trying to create a customer master, at partner functions level under sales area data... the system is asking for the no. for each partner functions.. when i tried to manually enter, the system is not taking any number nor it is letting me save the data.
Please help me out in acertaining, what could be the issue.

its due to the number ranges that is specified in the partner determination ... chech what is the number range assigned in the parner determination ,,, so once u check that u have to manually enter the number between that range only .. this should solve ur problem...
path to check the number range is as below :
spro-img-logistic generalbusiness partner-customers---define account groups and field selection ---
at this point click position button at the bottom and give ur account group .. select ur account group and click detail button .. now inside that u can see the specified number range .. dafault is 08 ( means u can specify between 400000 to 499999)..
and some times u may not have defined number range... check urs and create accordingly ... this should solve ur problem...
