Problem of setuping a source system in bi 7.0

Dear All,
I'm now using BI 7.0, and when I wants to setup a souce system in the folder SAP, I found a problem. The system appears in BI folder with a strange icon. I don't know why, can anybody explain it and give a solution?

Problem in R/3 Source System

Hi,
I requested basis Guy to create R/3 Source system.
He created, But when I want to Replicate the Data sources,
When I double click the R/3 Source System
I will get this Messege
" There is no application component hierarchy
in BW for source system &1.
Load application component hierarchy from the source system now? "
I won't get the Hierarchy and I won't see any Data sources here?
what is the problem?
Even My basis Gye says , R/3 Source System working Fine , he says I need to do some configuration.

I selected the Source system Right click then I selected CHECK, i received the message
Source system connection OK.
if source system connection is good why don't i get the data sources?
Basis Guy selected Below option to create Source System
SAP System From Release 3.0E (Automatic Creation)
Source System Icon also looking different, In previous 3.XX we can see the Icon R/3,
but here R/3 Icon is not displayed.
I need to do any configuration for getting datasources?

Problem in creating SRM source system in BW

hi all,
as much i knw. i can say that there are 4 steps in creating SRM source system in BW :-
1) creating logical system for SRM client
2)creating logical system for BW client
3)naming background user
4)creating SRM source system in BW.
now i am facing some basic problems....
1) I logon to SRM system using client 001 so do i need to assign SRM logical system i am creating to this client only.
2) same way i logon to BW using client 800, so do i need to assign BW logical system to client 800.
3)how can i create background users for link to SRM.
4)does anything needs to be done in RFC.

Problem BW : DTP lost source system mapping and new one created?

I had a little question concerning the BI content activation, when you have to activate objects and there are two source systems, one of them already with a flow working. Do you have to check both source systems in your screen of source system selection, if there are shared objects? I was afraid if I only checked the one I wanted the existing one would dissappear? I donu2019t want to touch the existing one as it was a 3.5 flow which has been migrated to 7.0.
I have also another question, which is a worse scenario of what has happened recentlyu2026!! Imagine you have originally one source system in your BW DEV environment (towards QA) with a certain amount of Datasources connected to it as well as some DTPu2019s. A new source system was added to this BW DEV (towards PROD). Do you think adding this new source system could have an impact in the mapping of the DTP towards the Datasources? In fact, some of our DTP have been modified and they are pointing to the incorrect Datasource/Source system. These DTP were created manually as well as the Transformations as it was a former 3.5 flow. Do you know a way to bring it back to itu2019s previous connection. Maybe a table that points to the correct source system or a function module? RSBKDTP and RSBK* tables do not store this info (only descriptions) and RSRV doesnu2019t do it.
Please let me know if you have had a similar case! Points are waiting and the gratitude of my boss...lol

Datasources . problem with the new Source System

Hi friends!
The ECC client were copy and now I have a new source system for this.
If I select source system / verify, the msg is: ok
In can read some data from the new ECC (ie: exchange rates updated), but I can not read any records using the datasources.
The replication in Bi were done, and the data in source system is ok.

Hi Shriraj,
ensure that the installation path is correct. I only put /urs/sap/<SID> and you must put /usr/sap/<SID>/DV***/.
In my case with that the setup returns all in green.

Problems Creating R/3 46c Source System in BW3.50

Hello.
Does anyone know if there is a way around opening up your R/3 system when creating it as a Source System in BW? I have no problems when creating the Source System in DEV, but when I attempt to create it in QAS and PRD, I get the message "Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted". Also, short dumps for ALEREMOTE "Dynpro Send In Background" occur in the R/3 system after each attempt.
If there is no way around this, I guess we will just open the systems up to these type of changes and then lock them back down afterwards, but I am hoping there are alternatives.

Hi Mike,
You must open the system for changes, there is no way around this. This is usually not a major issue but if the security people are concerned, you can open a trace on the admin user in the OLTP source system.
I have been involved in cases where the security guys had to open the system and watch the source system creation - not sure they learnt anything but they signed off on it!

Error in creation of source system

Hi there,
if you get the error again, please go tcode su53 directly and see for which object the authorization is missing. I understand you have SAP_ALL access but for any authorization issue we normally go to SU53 tcode and verfiy.
So once you get the object name then go to SU01 and open your id. Go to authorization tab and find for that object and see if '03' activity is assigned to you or not.
If this step is absolutely fine then we can think of alternative solution.

G/L account picked for the "wrong" source system entry

Dear Experts,
in SRM 7.0, Classic Scenario, i am facing the following issue with respect to G/L account determination in the SC:
We have three R/3 systems connected to SRM. All these R/3 systems use the same Material Groups, but the G/L accounts are different in each R/3 system.
In the Table "Determination of G/L Account using product categories", i have maintained the repsective combinations. For each combination of product category and account assignment category, the respective G/L account is defaultet for the respective source system.
But in the shopping cart, the determination of the correct G/L does not always work. When a user enters the shopping cart initially with a line item that is accounted to his default account assignment category, than the correct G/L account for his source system is derived. But if he changes the account assignment category of the line item, than a G/L account from a "wrong" source system is getting picked up from the table.
I have checked the GUIDs of the product categories between "Comm_category" and "bbp_det_account" and they are correct.
What can be the reason for the picking of the G/L account from the wrong source system?
Can the note 1357871 bring the correction?

Hello Dima,
I think your problem comes from your source system for product category management.
Could you clarify one point: if you change account assignment category, does new G/L account have to be determined for same backend system too or not ?
If yes, correct new G/L account will be determined using your customizing (IMG: SAP Implementation Guide > SAP Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Account Assignment > Define G/L Account for Product Category and Account Assignment Category ).
If it does not work, log an OSS message.
If no, you need to switch value for each SC item field BBP_PDIGP-LOGSYS_FI from old backend source system to the new one. For this, use BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.
Then, your customized G/L account definition for product category and account assignment category should be OK.

Prevent objects being transported for Sandpit source system

We have a 3-tier systems landscape for BI: DEV, QAS, PRD (we do not have a sandpit BI). In our R/3 development system we habe two clients which are both setup as source system for BI DEV. One of the clients in R/3 DEV serves as sandpit in that system and objects can't be transported from it. However, since this client is connected to BW, objects related to this source system can be transported from BI DEV. We want to prevent that, so only the objects in BW DEV for the real R/3 DEV development client are allowed.
Is there a way in BI to configure a source system in such a way (other than via security roles/profiles), that objects related to this source system can't be transported?

Sander, you should post this in BASIS also. By posting in both the forums, you have a better chance.
In case BASIS folks say that they cannot stop this, try this work-around.
In BWQ, in RSA1, there is a Source System Mapping in one of the tools menu. There, your DEV is mapped to QAS, etc.
There, you may have your R/3 DEV mapped to R/3 QAS.
See if there is an entry for your R/3 Sandpit/Sandbox. If there is one, leave the mapping for it as Blank.
See, the only Objects that are related to Source System in BW are InfoSource-DataSources. If there is no mapping for SOurce System in BWQ, then the transport will fail.
This is just a thought.

Error in source system TD1511

hello gurus, I have a Infosource name 2LIS_05_QE2, I haved assigned 4 Source System namely (CD1513, GP1590, TD1511, WD1511), It uses a Function Module in R/3 and Appended Structure (I've already transported the FM, Appended DS, Function Group and the Zsextractor assignment), I don't have any problems in activating other Source System (CD1513, GP1590, WD1511) only in TD1511, I can't activate the Transfer Rule and Im getting the error,
"Error in source system TD1511 "
Ive already replicated the Source Ssytem and only in T Cluster Im currently experiencing the said problem, I even go to Source System and right click on the T Cluster to check, and the connection is ok, What maybe the caused of the said problem? thank you very much... I really appreciate any help...

Ive fixed it, Ive check all the R3 box 2 by 1, and T Cluster was down, by the way thanks, The Checking of connection in BW is so confusing because it says "OK", but when I check each cluster individually, I noticed it was down, Thank you very much,I will give you a score

R/3 Source System Connectivity with BWREMOTE

Dear Experts,
I am facing a problem while creating a source system of R/3 in BW.
We have a src sys of R/3 for a client say 400 , Now I need to create a source system for a different client (480 ) of R/3 in BW.
Now the actual problem is We dont have Password of BWREMOTE to create a new source system.
What will be the impact , if I RESET THE PASSWORD FOR BWREMOTE,
& what are the steps i need to do after reseting the password.
or is there any way out to create a source system
or is there any way to find the password of BWREMOTE

Transporting SOURCE SYSTEM

Hi Experts,
I created a Flat File Source System in BW Development system based on that i created DSO,CUBE,MULTICUBE,PROCESS CHAIN and REPORTS.
Issue :
I need to transport them to Test and Production system.There is no Flat File source system avaliable in Test & Production....I know that we don't Transport Source Systems across BW Environments...how to deal with this...do i need to ask our basis team to create source systems in Test and Production before importing any transports.

Yes - you basis guy will help you to setup the source systems.
STEPS TO CREATE FLAT FILE SOURCE SYSTEM
step:1 select source systems under modeling in AWB.
step:2 select Source Systems root node.
|---> context menu
|--->create......
step:3 select your required source system Icon.
(in your case it is PC Icon).
there it askes for a logical.......and source system name...
here u can specify any name of ur wish
for example:-
logical sys name --- PC_FF
source system name --- flat file source system*
*press Continue * button.
Observe the activation icon to confirm the successfull creation(_glowing lamp icon_ symbol)

Source system not Active error while installing BI content cube

When I try to install the BI content cube, In logs it is showing the error message as "Source client not Active". I activated the source system in modelling tab. Still the problem continues. In source system assignment of BI content the source client is also checked. Please give me a solution.

Hi Selva,
If you want to select only infocube, select "Only necessary objects" in grouping. If you want everything related to Info cube, then system will collect data source also and for that it will check if you are authorized in source system. Please check if the source system is connected to BI or you can do one thing activate the data source in source system and replicate it in BI.

Data load problem - BW and Source System on the same AS

Hi experts,
Im starting with BW (7.0) in a sandbox environment where BW and the source system are installed on the same server (same AS). The source system is the SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) 5.0.
BW is working on client 001 while SRM is on client 100 and I want to load data from the SRM into BW.
Ive configured the RFC connections and the BWREMOTE users with their corresponding profiles in both clients, added a SAP source system (named SRMCLNT100), installed SRM Business Content, replicated the data sources from this source system and everything worked fine.
Now I want to load data from SRM (client 100) into BW (client 001) using standard data sources and extractors. To do this, Ive created an InfoPackage in one standard metadata data source (with data, checked through RSA3 on client 100 source system). Ive started the data load process, but the monitor says that no Idocs arrived from the source system and keeps the status yellow forever.

I didn't see any reason why it's not bringing. Are you doing full extraction or Delta. If delta extraction please check the extractor is delta enabled or not. Some times this may cause problems.
