Problem on Assigning Person to a Position

Hi SAP-HR folks,
I would like to ask for your assistance on my problem below.
I've hired a person using New Hire action type. During the hiring process, I've assign the person to a position which I've created also. Then, there is a need for this person to be re-assign to another vacant position. Re-assigning should be done using drag and drop in transaction PPOME.
I've successfully done the re-assignment of this person to another vacant position using drag and drop. But according to the test scripts that we are following, the expected result should be that the system should refuse the re-assignment after filling in the dates. Re-assignment can only proceed after delimitation of the assignment of person to position.
May I know if the action that I've done is a normal behavior of SAP? In the case the test scripts are right, may I know on how to successfully follow the scripts?

whenever transfer employee from one positon to other position don't do this by drag and drop from ppome.
just do this by PA40, Org Reassignment action.
as ppome not support 100% for such change.
and also if u do this from ppome, it0001 can't be updated for both positions.

Assigning person to position in OM

Hi,
I am using PPOME to create OM objects - org units and positions. Now when I assign a person to a position using PPOME, i can assign it and save it. But it shows the arrow mark near the person which says object to be added. What does it mean? Where do I need to add the object?

Person should be always assigned using PA. Infact, it would not be possible to assign the person using only OM.
Ask yourself, can we create employee master using OM? We create Person in PA, and using Organizational Assignment infotype we link P and S. This link creates an integration between aforesaid PA and OM objects.

Error when assigning business partners to positions in org. mgmt.

Hello,
I've got the following problem. I want to assign business partners to a position in organisation management. When doing this, the following error occurs:
"Object cannot be assigned to object xxx in the period xx.xx.xxxx - xx.xx.xxxx"
(xxx is the position to which the business partner should be assigned)
The number of this error message is 5A368.
Diagnosis in the detailed description of this message:
"The object period of object '1st Level Support' is not within the relationship period 26.03.2007 - 31.12.9999."
I've changed the object period of the position "1st Level Support" to several other dates, but it did not solve the problem.
The described problem does not occur, when assigning an user to this position.
Can anybody help me with this problem? I'm using SolMan 4.0.

Thanks for your answer so far. Unfortunately it's not possible for me to upgrade to SP11. So I tried to solve the problem the way you described. I double-clicked the position on the left, the desired position is shown in the main screen and I try to assign the business partner to the position. But the same error appears.
Are there any other possible solutions?
What are the consequences of assigning users to a position instead of business partners?

Assigning jobs to a position

Hello!
My problem is this:
when i assign jobs to a position in PPOME, the position shuold keep the descriptions of job when i confirm my entry (by pressing Enter) , but when the name of job is too large, this ones isn't assigned to position.
What can i resolve it?

in PPOME select the root Orgunit then click the dropdown Goto (First Button).
Then Choose Task Assignment.
Then U'll be in Task assignment screen.Then Choose the Concerned Position right click the choose Assign.
Then Choose Task.

Problem with Assigning Policy button in Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2010

First of all, I'm posting here because I'm not sure how to post in the previous version of Exchange forums.
Secondly, I'm re-posting this from the Outlook forums as I'm not getting any responses there despite of views.

I'm having an issue in Outlook 2010 where I can't assign personal policies to folders. I have setup personal tags and added the mailbox to the right policy. I have also ran Start-MangedFolderAssistant in Exchange 2010 Shell against the mailboxes.
When I go into OWA, everything shows up perfectly, I can right-click and assign policies at will, but when I open Outlook 2010 then the Assign Policy button never appears. I force added it to the ribbon and I can see from there that the button stays grayed
out irregardless of where I click in the folder structure. I have even assigned the mailbox user Owner rights to all the folders to see if it will make a difference.
If anyone can help me solve this problem I will very grateful, I'm pulling my hair out here and I'm certain I could just be missing something very obvious somewhere,
It might be worth mentioning that the company has been using .prf files to configure Outlook thus far, I'm
looking to eliminate that. I'm not sure if that will have any effect on my current problem.

Thanks for the reply Max, that's a pretty good link.
Like is I said though, I have the policies all set up in the Exchange configuration side of things, when I use OWA all the options for applying tags appear. It's just in Outlook 2010 Standard that the Assign Policy button stays grayed out.

CNR2-assign person to work center error: the cost center is deleted

Hi guys,
i have a problem with assigning a person to a work center using CNR2.
i select the person and i add it but when i hit SAVE i get this warning message:
"RP718: a segment could not be derived". the person will then be allocated to the work center BUT when i check in PA30 i can see that the persons cost center is DELETED :O.
could you please help me with this? i tried a lot of scenarios but i could still not find the answer.

Cost Center must be maintained for that person in HR master data. Please have your HR person look into this and maintain the data and try again. Cost center and Atype of that person would bring in actual costs (equivalent of hours) on the receiving objects when time sheet is being recorded.

Yes.One person can hold more one positions ,depending on the staffing percentage.

How to get assigned persons

Hi Friends,
How can i get assigned persons.
If i provide superior ( user id OR Name OR personnel number ) i need to get all persons under that superior.
Is there any BAPI or Function module or any standard report.
And let me know the parameters also.

I was able to get the logic to get the assigned persons using the table HRP1001. The below is the assumed logic (small modifications may be necessary).
First the PERNR of A is to be found out(if only name of userid is available) from the table PA0105. Once the PERNR is available, get the position of A using the following code.
SELECT SINGLE SOBID INTO V_SOBID
                FROM HRP1001
                WHERE OTYPE EQ 'P'
                AND OBJID EQ OBJID
                AND PLVAR EQ '01'
                AND RSIGN EQ 'B'
                AND RELAT EQ '008'
               AND BEGDA LE DATUM
               AND ENDDA GE DATUM
               AND SCLAS EQ 'S'.
Now get the subordinate positions who are one level under him using the below code.
SELECT OBJID INTO TABLE I_OBJID
                        FROM HRP1001
                        WHERE OTYPE EQ 'S'
                        AND PLVAR EQ '01'
                        AND RSIGN EQ 'A'
                        AND RELAT EQ '002'
                        AND BEGDA LE DATUM
                        AND ENDDA GE DATUM
                       AND SCLAS EQ 'S'
                       AND SOBID EQ V_SOBID.
Now get the pernr of the subordinate positions
SELECT SINGLE SOBID INTO SOBID
                                       FROM HRP1001

                                      AND OBJID EQ OBJID è from I_OBJID
                                      AND PLVAR EQ '01'
                                      AND RSIGN EQ 'A'

                                     AND SCLAS EQ 'P'.
The userid's can be obtained from the table PA0105.

Facing problem of Assigned Value in CJ33

Hi All,
I am facinfg a problem with Assigned value shown in CJ33 T code. My Sceneraio is like this.....
1. I have activated availiblity controll on Released Budget.
2. I have maintained tolerence limit only for PR and PO.
Now My problem is that I budgeted one of my WBS as INR2000, Same amount is released also. I created a PR for INR500. The same PR is converted to a Purchase order of INR500.
Now in CJ33 T code my assigned value is comming as INR1000. Which is not correct for me because i have only used INR500 for my INR2000 budget and i want to use my Remaining INR1500 budget for another PR, But system is giving me Budget excedded error.
Please advise. It would be a great help of all of you.

I had a strong feelilng that you were using ECC 5.0. I had come across the same issue. Just refer the note and try to apply the notes mentioned there. I am not sure which one i had applied but you can try out with the note number that Muraleedharan has mentiond in the thread. It should work.

Hi Kumar,
You can use UserFieldsMD.Mandatory property to allow the UDF to be empty or not.
Note: You do not have to manage the real database value for the UDF. B1 is responsible to do this.

I think the Bad Value Error Occurs only if the databound datasource in the form must have different data type...

Problem in assigning field symbol to a nested internal table

I have searched the forum but could not find a solution to this problem. I have a requirement where I need to define an internal table within an internal table, so I have used pointer within the outer internal table(itab2) which point to the inner table. However, I am facing problem while assigning the pointer.
data: begin of struct1 occurs 0,
        fld3(10) type C,
       end of struct1.
data: begin of itab2 occurs 0,
        fld1(10) type C,
        fld2(10) type C,
        p_inner like ref to struct1,
      end of itab2.
field-symbols <inner_table> type any.
I want to assign "itab2->p_inner->* " to "<inner_table>".
However, the following statement is Not working:
assign itab2->p_inner->* to <inner_table>.
I want to fill the values within fields fld1, fld2 and fld3 and append it in itab2.
The final table should be like:
ITAB2:
fld1    fld2    fld3
aa      bb      cc
                 dd
                 ee
11      22      33
                 44
                 55
I have tried many other ways too but could not suceed, please help.

append ls_wa to lt_tab.
Its giving an error that:
The data object "LS_WA" does not have a component called "T_IN-FLD1".
I wanted the values to be appended in the following way in lt_tab:
fld3     fld1     fld2
A     B     C
     D     E
Please help.
