Problem On DB Sessions

Hi
I am a java developer .I used oracle 10g Express Edition for my application database. while running my running my application I can find in administration database sessions queries like "SELECT VALUE FROM NLS_INSTANCE_PARAMETERS WHERE PARAMETER = 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT.....'.
My express edition capable of having 10 sessions in database. But this query occupying more than 7 queries. So I cannot run my application. If there are more users for my application connection to the database is refused.
What is this problem ? How can I rectify this? Any help would be helpful for me..

Firstly, you are probably in the wrong forum. There is a specific forum for Oracle Express Edition.
This forum is for Application Express (which is part of Express Edition, and can be put on any other edition too). Given your JDBC error, it doesn't look like you are building an application in Apex.
Depending on how your application is managing users/sessions, you are either stateful (each end user has a database session) or stateless (multiple end users share a pool of common database sessions). Stateful sessions can either have a separate process (or thread in Windows) for each session, or use multi-threaded server connections.
So the question is how many concurrent end users are you anticipating, how many concurrent sessions and how many concurrent active sessions. Since Express Edition only uses 1 CPU, that will probably be the bottleneck for active sessions, rather than networks.

  • A simple problem with sateful Session beans

    Hi,
    I have a really novice problem with stateful session bean in Java EE 5.
    I have written a simple session bean which has a counter inside it and every time a client call this bean it must increment the count value and return it back.
    I have also created a simple servlet to call this session bean.
    Everything seemed fine I opened a firefox window and tried to load the page, the counter incremented from 1 to 3 for the 3 times that I reloaded the page then I opened an IE window (which I think is actually a new client) but the page counter started from 4 not 1 for the new client and it means that the new client has access to the old client session bean.
    Am I missing anything here???
    Isnt it the way that a stateful session bean must react?
    This is my stateful session bean source.
    package test;
    import javax.ejb.Stateful;
    @Stateful
    public class SecondSessionBean implements SecondSessionRemote
    private int cnt;
    /** Creates a new instance of SecondSessionBean */
    public SecondSessionBean ()
    cnt=1;
    public int getCnt()
    return cnt++;
    And this is my simple client site servlet
    package rezaServlets;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import javax.ejb.EJB;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import test.SecondSessionRemote;
    public class main extends HttpServlet
    @EJB
    private SecondSessionRemote secondSessionBean;
    protected void processRequest (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    response.setContentType ("text/html;charset=UTF-8");
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter ();
    out.println("<html>");
    out.println("<head>");
    out.println("<title>Servlet main</title>");
    out.println("</head>");
    out.println("<body>");
    out.println("<h1>Our count is " + Integer.toString (secondSessionBean.getCnt ()) + "</h1>");
    out.println("</body>");
    out.println("</html>");
    out.close ();
    protected void doGet (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    processRequest (request, response);
    protected void doPost (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    processRequest (request, response);
    }

    You are injecting a reference to a stateful session bean to an instance variable in the servlet. This bean instance is shared by all servlet request, and that's why you are seeing this odd behavior.
    You can use type-leve injection for the stateful bean, and then lookup the bean inside your request-processing method. You may also save this bean ref in HttpSession.
    @EJB(name="ejb/foo", beanName="SecondBean", beanInterface="com.foo.foo.SecondBeanRemote")
    public MyServlet extends HttpServlet {
    ic.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/foo");
    }

  • A problem with a session Access

    Hi Olivier,
    To connect with Forte while running distributed you must use System DNS
    instead of User DNS on the server. The ftexec.exe on your server partition
    will be launched by the NodeMgr running as UID SYSTEM. User DNS are not
    available to processes running as UID SYSTEM.

  • Problem with xfce4-session.

    Hello, I'm not sure whether I'm posting in the correct section of the forums but anyway, here's the problem, after upgrading the system xfce started crashing randomly (It definitely crashes when I try to suspend first time, then it does it correctly). I took a look in Xorg and fglrx log files, they didn't contain any errors. However, dmesg listed a segfault of xfce4-session in libglib, is there any solution for that problem or I just have to wait until the upgrade. Also, I have and AMD E-450 APU, and a proprietary catalyst driver from catalyst-stable. Here is the output from dmesg (the segfault message is in the end):

    Yes, it keeps happening even with the default kernel when I try to shut down/suspend the computer (Alt-F4 key combination). I've read on some russian forum that it's the problem in recently upgraded glib2 (as they think), however downgrade didn't help. I'll try to check whether xfce4-session is to blame.
    EDIT: It's definitely not xfce4-session, I tried previous version. Also, while running downgrade I saw that there is a newer version of glib2 in ARM, which is much more unstable, so I'm using 2.36.1-1.

  • New insight into my dropdown list problems: loss of session info

    I tried again, this time with NetBeans 5.5.1 (with Tomcat 5.5.17) and stepped through my code; code executed as a result of selecting an item in the second, misbehaving dropdown box.
    I have this function:
        public void prerender() {
            SessionBean1 sb = this.getSessionBean1();
            sb.setPortfolio_id(0);
            this.getDropDown2().setSelected(ddsi);
        }This uses a private data member:
    Object ddsi = null;
    And here is my value changed event handler for this combobox:
        public void dropDown2_processValueChange(ValueChangeEvent event) {
            SessionBean1 sb = this.getSessionBean1();
            String sp_id = (String) this.getDropDown2().getValue();
            ddsi = event.getNewValue();
            String desc = (String) ddsi;
            Long Ldesc = new Long(desc);
            long p_id = Ldesc.longValue();
            sb.setPortfolio_id(p_id);
            this.getFacesContext().getCurrentInstance().renderResponse();
        }As you can see, I am trying to ensure that the value selected is preserved and used the next time the item is rendered.
    sb.setPortfolio_id(p_id); is a trivial setter function (taking a long argument) for the property portfolio_id.
    When I step through this code, at every step along the way, I see the correct value for p_id! The correct value is passed to the session bean! And I even see the correct value in ddsi when the function "prerender" is executed. However, it seems that this information is lost when the page is actually rendered.
    And, when the servlet that produces the image that is to be displayed on the page checks the session bean, the session bean has the default value (0) for the portfolio_id property rather than the the value (30) that had been passed to the session bean.
    It is as if the session information has been lost, or a new session bean is provided each time the page is rendered.
    The only additional clue is this (found in Tomcat's output);
    com.sun.rave.web.ui.component.DropDown::The current value of component form1:dropDown2 does not match any of the selections.
    Did you forget to reset the value after changing the options?
    Why is this happening? I know full well that at the time the value in dropdown2 is changed, the value in dropdown1 has not, and therefore the value passed to dropDown2 IS in the list of selections. But, when the value in dropDown1 is changed, the list of options in dropDown2 is changed. I wonder if the valueChanged event handler for dropdown1 is being executed every time the page is rendered, forcing dropDown2 to "forget" what was selected, and somehow losing the session info at the same time?????????
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Ted

    Upgrading to itunes 7.0 just cost me 2 days of messing around and in the end I had to revert back to v6.0 and resore my lib.
    Apple CS was good but did not belly up the fact that 7.0 is defective in some cases and in the end told me I had a hardware problem!
    The main issue is that I could not get itunes 7.0 to see my ipod (very infrequently after a hard boot I would see it but would not be able to upload anything). Worked(s) 100% with v 6.0.
    This is very defintey 1/2 baked following in the steps of the other well known producers of sw that is not always functional/buggy the first time around.

  • Hello, I have a big problem with Firefox: Session Manager & Undo Closed Tab addons are not working, Sync Is not working. History is working. How to fix this?

    Firefox remembers history but doesn't remember closed tabs, sessions.
    It happened after updating Fox to v. 19.0.2 on one computer.
    In Firefox Options is set Use Custom Settings For History, everything is checked except Always Use Private Browsing Mode. So I am not in private browsing.
    When I press on Undo Closed Button nothing happens & in session manager Save Session Button is greyed out. I've tried installing other add-ons that can remember tabs. tried to disable/reinstall these 2 add-ons. Did't help. On my 2nd computer I have same add-ons, same settings and they are working normally. on 3rd computer undo closed tabs works also. How to fix this? I decided to ask before doing Firefox Reset...
    Sync is a separate problem. It works, but quite often it logs me out of Sync account. Then I can log in only using long recovery key and password (choosing option I don't have device with me because it does not accept keys for pairing device.)
    Thanks for reading.

    I have exactly the same settings in Options (in both computers)
    for history, these 2 add-ons and all other stuff in Options. The only difference is that on 1 pc sessions can be saved and closed tabs can be reopened, on other main pc they stopped to work. + no any other add-on that does similar things works on this pc.
    It is also interesting that I can reopen closed visited sites from History Panel, but not by pressing the Button. For now I only manually bookmark links to a temporary folder.
    Recently (some 2 month ago) I pressed x and Firefox closed all tabs without saving them without displaying save & quit pop up.
    so I changed 4 settings in about.config
    browser.tabs.warn on close true
    browser.warn on quit true
    browser.warn on restart true
    browser.show.quit warning true
    but the problem with sessions appeared only 1 week ago.
    So I guess the problem is not with the History settings or other settings. Seems that something responsible for button or for storing info about tabs/sessions got corrupted. :(

  • Resolving the problem of same session id for more than one client

    Hello
    My web application developed in jsp is facing problem with the same session id given for 2 different clients.
    Here iam storing the user id and session id in a hashtable based on which further request are processed.
    Could u please suggest how to resolve this problem so that each client have different session id.
    -Regards
    Lakshmi

    define "2 different clients"
    1) You have 2 different PCs and it's using the same session ID for both? I doubt this. I think the server is advanced enough not to use give a session ID that's already been created.
    2) You have 1 PC and are using IE or Netscape and using File > New Window to open a new window and connect again. This you can't fix without using only URL rewriting to manage session, because the different windows will share the same session cookies.

  • Problems with a session of batch input - In processing

    Hello!
    I have a problem with a depreciation posting Session (AFAB). User has stoped the process of session and now the status is 'In Processing' and we can't run it anymore...
    ¿How I can process this Session?
    I've tried to delete the session and re-run the depreciation posting, but it's not working.
    I've tried to delete in TABA table the line of this period, but it's not working.
    I've tried to suicide me, but... it's not working.
    I'll try to kill the user, I hope that It will work.
    Can you help me? Please.
    Thanks a lot!!!

    Dear Jorge,
    In SM35 analyze your session.
    If it was processed in background go to transaction SM37. Else, you can proceed in SM35 itself.
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Problems with maintaining session state using mod_ose

    I am using 9i AS(version 1.0.2.0) and oracle 8i(version 815).
    Because i need to maintain client sessions for my application, I
    have activated mod_ose(for stateful session). As suggested in
    the oracle documentation, i created a package containing
    variables for which state needs to be maintain per client. The
    state is maintained by the app server but it is not maintained
    properly. All the new clients that connect to the app server
    share the same session variable values. If I change a package
    variable value from one client, other clients take the same
    value.
    Any solution?
    Suggestions are most welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

    We installed oracle9i AS on solaris, configured OSE and the
    problem is not occuring now. Not sure whether its solaris that
    worked or 9i AS had some problem on NT machine earlier.

  • Problem in BDC Sessions

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    A program creates 4000 sessions with similar name like 'SESSION_NAME' each having 200 records.This BDC updates same Transaction.
    I have a another program with parameter as Session name. With this session name i will get all the QUEUE ID's of 4000 sessions and using this ID i submit RSBDCBTC.
    Now the problem is that all the sessions run at the same time .
    The consequence was that all session ran on errors because they lock each other.
    I have used WAIT UPTO 2 SESONDS..But this doesn't work.
    Please suggest how to overcome this problem.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Dinakaran.R

    Hi Dinakaran
      use:
    SUBMIT rsbdcsub
                      WITH mappe    EQ 'MIG_LISTING'                      " Session Name
                      WITH von      EQ sy-datum                           " Starting Interval date
                      WITH bis      EQ sy-datum                           " Closing Interval Date
                      WITH z_verarb EQ 'X'
                      WITH logall   EQ 'X'                                " Log Info
                      AND RETURN .
    here even though session name is same by mentioning the Starting Interval Date and Closing Interval date, we can process the 2 created pool sessions successfully.
    Feel free to ask any queries regarding this.

    I am performing BDC by batch input session method.

    This recording is for transaction CK74.this transaction screen contains some table controls.Error is "Control Framework: fatal error: GUI cannot be reached".
    Please let me know if anybody has solution for this.
    Thanks,
    Yogesh.

    Hi yogesh,
        I think u might be using the function module upload or ws_upload to upload the data to the internal table. Try to use GUI_UPLOAD, while processing the session on background.
    I think it will solve ur problem.

    Arun.

  • Problem establishing SNA session over DLSw link

    We are experiencing sporadic problems establishing an SNA session over a DLSw tunnel. The session is between a Tandem host and a CICS region on OS/390. A Cisco 7500 router performs one end of the DLSw link; that same router is channel-attached to the OS/390 mainframe using CIP and uses CSNA for SNA traffic.
    The connection is initiated by the SNA software on the Tandem box, but it rarely works on the first attempt. The session goes into a pending state and has to be cancelled and re-tried. This has to be repeated until such time it is successful. Once the session is started it works without problem.
    At the point of attempting to start the session all the components are in the 'correct' state, i.e.
    -DLSw tunnel is connected
    -Host PU is in 'connectable' (CONCT) state
    -Host XCA defining CIP SNA and virtual lines are active
    No action needs to be taken on the OS/390 end of the link (or anywhere else for that matter) between start attempts on Tandem.
    From device traces on OS/390 my suspicion is that the session requests are not actually getting to VTAM on OS/390 for some reason. DLSw traces on 7500 appear the same in both case of success or fail of session start.
    Has anyone experienced this, or know of problems in this area that may explain what we are seeing?
    Thanks.
    Keith

    Mary,
    thanks for the extra information.
    I would advice at this point the following:
    Open a case with the Tac. Provide the information you have at that point and agree on a action plan, i.e. what to look at what trace to take, when you are able to recreate the problem.
    What i can see from the documents you attaches is the following:
    I only see sna circuits in the dlsw circuit history.
    In you show dlsw reach there are quite some netbios names aswell and a large number of mac addresses learned from the remote peer.
    You may want to discuss some filter options with the tac to make sure we cut down on the size of the reach cache and to make sure we advertise only those mac addresses which are really needed.
    From the show version, 12.1(17) should be fine for dlsw in the way you described it.
    From the show dlsw circuit history detail we have a couple of times that circuits are disconnecting.
    Most of the time these circuits are up for a long time and they get the following sequence before terminating:
    Index local addr(lsap) remote addr(dsap) remote peer

    HALT_NOACK_PEND DLC DiscCnf 0x0 CLOSE_PEND
    CLOSE_PEND DLC CloseStnCnf 0x0 DISCONNECTED
    this circuit was up for more than a month and the reason for disconnection was ADM WAN failure which means the dlsw peer went away at some point.
    Some other circuits get these sequence:
    CONNECTED WAN infoframe 0x0 CONNECTED
    CONNECTED WAN halt-dl 0x0 HALT_PENDING
    WAN halt-dl means the other end tells us to disconnect. No information on this end why. Most of the time it is a legitimate disconnect. but you would need to look at the dlsw peer to get information who terminated the session.
    I dont see anything specific in a sense that a circuit did not go to connect at all. In the information you supplied.
    Again my advice open a case with the tac and then you can work the issue to completion.
    thanks...

  • Urgent!! Problem in using session invalidate()

    Dear all,
    I think may be the problem has been posted here before, but i can't find the solution yet. I hope you can help me about this.
    My case is that i wrote a logout servlet for my web site. So i use session.invalidate() in the servlet. After that it will redirect to the home page again. At this time, NullPointerException is thrown. I have tried many ways to solve this problem, but still failed.
    Can anyone help me? Thanks for advanced.

  • Problems disabling restart session persistence in Tomcat

    I'm running Tomcat 5.5.17. I've been working on an application for quite some time when the tomcat logs suddenly started to fill up with the following errors each time I restart Tomcat:
    2006-09-29 21:15:10,539 | WARN | StandardSession.java | writeObject() | 1468 | Cannot serialize session attribute publicPictures for session 9184A48FEFC99FAA3573A4DE1F75CCD5
    I've searched the web, and found out that the reason for this is that Tomcats "Restart Session Persistence" is turned on. So how do I turn that off?
    According to a few sites in the web there should be a file called application.xml, in which I can put the line <Manager pathname=""/> to disable the Session Persistence manager. The problem is that on my Tomcat installation there's no such file.
    So I tried to create the file $CATALINA_HOME/conf/application.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE application PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD J2EE Application 1.3//EN'
              'http://java.sun.com/dtd/application_1_3.dtd'>
    <application>
    <Manager pathname=""/>
    </application>But this had no effect at all. So can someone please explain to me how I can disable the Session Persistence manager?

    I had a similar problem in that during restarts sometimes I would get messages about null pointer exceptions which seemed to be related to attempted session persistence. I never paid a lot of attention but eventually decided to do something about it, i.e disable session persistence, since the errors seemed to slowdown restarts.
    Based on this:
    http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/config/manager.html
    I added a Manager element to my main Context element, using the standard manager class and setting the pathname attribute to an empty string:
    <Context path="/" debug="1" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
         <Manager class="org.apache.catalina.session.StandardManager" pathname="" />
    </Context>
    Since the errors I was getting were sporadic anyway I cannot definitively say this fixed it but I have not seen any errors since making the change and shutdowns seem to go faster now.

    I ran into the EXACT same problem described by Tracy, and I assembled my .ear file manually.
    According the error message, it would appear that the server is looking for the EJB remote interface in the ../temp/__session_bean_rpc directory when it is trying to generate its session bean wrapper class. As Tracy notes, when the file Hello.class is copied into the directory, the problem goes away. Furthermore, once the wrapper class has been generated, Hello.class is no longer needed and can be deleted from the directory.
    Better still, I found a way to deploy the web services web module and make the error go away. I created the ejbws.war file with a copy of the remote interface Hello.class in the WEB-INF/classes directory. This makes the class available when the wrapper class is generated.
    The WebServicesAssembler tool doesn't copy the EJB remote interfaces into the .war web module, which would appear to be
    necessary.
    Hope this helps.
