Problem on dv6-6126sl

Hello, I have two questions,
1) on my DV6-6126sl power when it is inserted, the metal surface around the keyboard and touch pad, you feel a small but disturbing current leakage (it takes electric shock!) Is normal?
2) in the lower right of the screen (only) up or when you put the PC into hibernation or when Windows asks the UAC has a hyper-lit corner of the screen is normal?
how to fix, thanks

No, the problem with the battery inserted does not happen, I never encountered similar problems in the past, I think that thegounded outlet works.
and the hyperlighted corner can you tell me something?

    Hi,
I open a new topic, because searching among existing ones, I did not find useful answers.
I have a DV6-6126sl and I decided to upgrade it with a wireless card that implements the Bluetooth. analyzing the service and maintenance guide, I chose to buy the part number 657325-001, which should be compatible with both AMD and those models intel, but when I insert the card at startup hangs and does not post bios, giving an error "wireless adapter installed is not supported and then has the error" wireless (702) "," how is it possible? there is a method to unlock it, thanks

    Hi,
To answer your last question first, the Turbo Boost Technology Driver is only intended for processors with an integrated GPU - the i7-720QM does not have this.
More difficult is why you observe no Turbo Boost on AC Power.
    Try the following.
Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as soon as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the Turbo Boost Technology Monitor from Intel on the following link and see what this shows.

  • Problem with DV6-6160EV

I recently bought a DV6-6160EV notebook (less than 2 months ago) on the very first time i used it really srange thongs start happening even though theres is an i7 processor build in and 6 GB of RAM the notebook was tragocally slow... slower even than the 6 year old HP i used to own..even though i went through all the necessary upgrades provided automatically (as if) from HP the notebook was still running slow ,trying to slove my problem i found a bios upgrade which was not mentioned to the DV6-6160EV deives and BIOS upgrade page , from that moment on it started be really fast,so problem first got resolved from me and not through any HP technincian.A few days later while i was on youtube the notebook hung and froze.I thought big deal i shall restart the machine and all will be fine.I tried to switch it off and for an hour it was sayiong pls wait while the computer switches off. After an hour or so i decided to swittch it off my self by using the ON button fpor 3 seconds..It did switch off and this was the last time i saw it working since today.2048 were found on the HD.I thoght never mind  things like that happen.I forgot to mention that from day one the keyboard was pretty loose and it clicked weirdly.I did went to the HP official repairshop hand it in to have it repaired.Several days after i was called to pick up the fixed notebook. So i did .I asked wether they have fixed the keyborad also and he replied there was a screw missing from the notebook and asked if i had gone thogh any repair.i declined (since i had not)and so the converstation fineshed.I went back home happy i was going to use my notebook again where i realize that on of the buttons on the keyboard was damaged and as soon i touched it it went off...but the keyboard was in place now.. so much in place that the person who did tied it up so much that the keyboard was inclined inwards..I went to the service again on the very same hour i received it and i was informed that they will send the notebook again to the main repair shop again...wait yet again several days... fot the keyboard to be fixed.. i have no longer trust in the product though HP under no circumastances seems to understand my furstration and my desire to be given a brand new machine...

    Hi @Edoardo001 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and the fan not working correctly.
Try following this document on overheating  might be the cause of the fan not working or over working . If the Notebook has dust on the fans it could be overheating.
Here is a link to restore the BIOS. Restoring the BIOS helps with an incorrect update on the BIOS that could cause the fan not to work correctly.
Here is a link how to do a hardware test.
    Hope this helps.

Have you made sure you are using the high performance profile? Here is where you can check:
Double check you performance profile and make sure its on HIgh Performance. Also download CPU-Z to monitor your CPU speed. Im unsure if the turbo boost applies to all the cores of the processor. CPU-Z will give you a better idea of whats going on.

The problem you are having can only be fixed by an HP Field Tech. I am one and I've fixed this issue before. It's an advisory that's only distributed internally at HP. Put in a service ticket. Any tech that has the latest s/n changer can fix this. Once the tech has booted the s/n changer, they'll put the info in like always, only this time, there will be two extra options. For any technician reading this, it'll ask something related to a 25-digit hex value that says (hit enter if unknown.) Instead, enter 25 zeros and hit enter. Then, on the softstylus option, just hit enter to leave it at defaults. That completes the latest version of the tool. This should fix your problem.

  • DV6-3122us/ after and during Factory restore problems

This is a DV6-3122us 64 bit notebook, 500GB hard drive, 4 GB ram, Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I restored it from the Factory purchased recovery discs, and I had a problem with that, had to do it 3 times kept locking up at 9% on the restore part. It finally went through then said couldn't install, turned it off, and it was installed. This is Windows 7 Home Premium. Now I have lock ups when updating. The HP assistant  loads but says it has errors at the very top, and doesn't show the system information at the bottom. The hard drive only shows 80 GB allocated, and 397 unallocated. This is all the original hardware, which has been tested and has passed, memory has passed. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Right click on the partition ( C:\ ) you want to Extend into the now unallocated partition and click on Extend Volume.
    2. Click on Next for the Welcome to the Extend Volume Wizard window
    3. Select the amount of space in MB you want to use from the unallocated partition to use to Extend this partition
    4. Select all of the available space .
    5. Click on Next.
    6. Click on Finish in the Completing Extend window
You will now see the Disk Management console with the new extended partition volume ready to be used.
    7. Close Computer Management.

  • Solved Crackling Problem in Windows 7 (SB 24-bit USB External, HP Pavilion dv6 1124-ca laptop).

I'm one of many users who has had problems with the sound crackling problem with their sound card after upgrading to Windows 7.
I was previously on Windows Vista running 5. with 24-bit, 96000Hz sample rate Studio Quality with no problems at all. When I upgraded to Windows 7 RC, Windows was able to automatically find a driver for my external USB sound card, but when playing music, I always got a constant crackling sound coming from the speakers while trying to put the card in anything above 2. or and when putting it in 24-bit 96000Hz, the crackling only got worse. Installing the Beta drivers on the Creative site didn't work either... still had the crackling. I searched around for the past several months for solutions to no avail.
Then today, I was surfing the HP website (I have a HP Pavilion dv6 24-ca laptop) to see if they had added Windows 7 drivers to their support site and they did... and so I started downloading all available Windows 7 drivers for my specific laptop. When I first installed Windows 7 RC, it had installed it's own drivers for everything (on-board sound etc.). After replacing the Windows 7 installed "High Definition Audio Device" drivers with the HP supplied "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" drivers... I'm not sure if the on board sound driver has anything at all to do with the crackling on the Soundblaster but I replaced the drivers anyway. I also installed another driver called "AMD USB Filter" that was supplied by the HP website for Windows 7 which is another driver that I thought might help with the problem. Other drivers installed were "ENE CIR Reciever Driver" and "Realtek Card Reader Driver" but those have nothing to do with the sound card.
After installing the drivers from the HP website, I no longer get the crackling from the speakers when playing in 5.. I am also now able to select 24-bit 96000Hz sample rate without crackling as well I am very happy to have finally solved the problem. So to anyone having similar problems, I suggest you check out your manufacturers website to see if they have any drivers available for you... I have a feeling the AMD USB Filter is what solved the problem... but who knows.
Hope this helps other HP users!

If you can hear the music through the speakers but not the headphones I would suggest using an AUX cable because seems the sound isn't being transmitted over.

  • Blue tinted screen, menory problems, underperforming battery - 5 day old HP pavilion dv6-6005sa

I bought a new HP Pavilion dv6-6005sa 15.6" Laptop - Linen White on 14/06/11 from Currys digital, Arndale Centre, Manchester. The laptop is less than 1 week old.
The screen is a frost blue colour from the second I turn it on to the second it is turned off. Weirdly I can see the entire screen, just that everything is blue!! Does anybody know how this can happen??? When I move the screen it flickers from normal to this blue thing. A loose connection maybe?
I am unhappy as I got to send it back to the shop for a under 21 days replacement involving an expensive airmail delivery :@ The alternative would be a 3 week investigation in the lab which I cant be bothered with!
Has anybody else experienced this phenomenon with a HP laptop screen? I also am beginning to experience memory problems and the usb prots are on the blink. I have looked after it very well, it has just been sat on a desk for 5 days! Can anybody explain me this phenomenon and if it is a comon problem with HP laptops?
Now for the next problem as if a faulty screen and memory cache wouldnt be enough! The battery:
The battery specs are as follows:
    Lithium-Ion 6-cell battery
    'upto 7.5 hours battery life'
The battery is advertised to perform 'upto 7.5 hours' however I get maximum 4.5 hours doing absolutely nothing on power saver mode with the laptop with it just sitting there idle on a desk. At the same time I also had wireless and bluetooth off; screen brightness set to 0%, maximum processing chip power reduced to 20%; battery saver mode active; all major applications closed).
I get maximum 2-3 hours doing basic tasks with it such as word processing. Gaming I get maximum 1.5 hours.
The battery checker displays the following:

    warrenty type: 1 year

Go to Power Options in the Control panel and select the  Power Saver option. Do not choose balanced. Then run your battery capacity tests again. Hopefully the new setting will improve the time that you get.

  • Pavilion dv6-1125es - Hard Disk problem

I have an HP Pavilion dv6-1125es (out of warranty) with Vista Home Premium (32 bit) that runs very slowly and freezes but this does not seem to be caused by malware. I was considering reinstalling but decided to run diagnostics first. In the System Diagnostics (Setup), the Start-up Test (F2) finds no problem in the Memory Test, Hard Disk Quick Test or Hard Disk SMART Test.
In the System Diagnostics Hard Disk Test (F4), the Quick Test indicates Passed (100%) but the Full Test shows:
    - 00% Complete
-‘Replace Hard Disk1’(in red) followed by ‘testing’ (in white)
    The SMART check indicates Passed
On pressing Esc to continue, the next screen shows (in blue)
    - “Hard Disk Test” Failed
    - “Hard Disk 1 FULL” (305)
The Diagnostic Log shows Result: 0305
I would be grateful for help with the following points:
    1) Is the ‘0305’ error unfixable? Does it mean replacing the hard disk?
    2) The current disk is 320 Gb. What is capacity limit for this model dv6-1125es?
    3) If I install Windows 7 on the new disk, can the 64 bit version be used on this model?
    4) As this laptop has also been running hot, I would like to try to clean the fan and ventilation system. Where can I find instructions on this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    To answer your questions.
    1.  The 305 error does mean you will need to replace the Hard Drive.
    2.  You can certainly go up to a 500Gb HDD without any problems - see the procedure starting on Page 69 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
    3.  Yes, your processor is 64bit capable - see Here for confirmation of this.
    4.  There are instructions for cleaning your notebooks air vents Here.
