Problem On Editing a Smartform in PDF with Chinese

Hello,
we are using SRM and in a specific transaction we are generating a SAP message wich is editing a form for the PO.
When we want to edit it on SRM in chinese we have problem with a lot of ### ans everything wich doesn't mean anything.
To generate the form we are using function 'CONVERT_OTF'.
No idea of what to do.

Hi Eileen,
Since you want to create a chinese PDF form, which font types are you using in the styles? If you are not using CNSONG, please try this font.
If this still does not work, then you will be needing to install true type fonts supported by adobe through SE73 and use those fonts in the smartstyles.

Error while saving a smartform in pdf with action profile in service order

Hi experts,
I have a problem in saving a smartform which is converted in pdf.
WHat i m doing is.
The action profile is configured with new Z class and Z method. CL_DOC_PROCESSING_CRM_ORDER and CRM_SRVORDER_EXEC_SMART_FORM.
But when i click the button in the Order, i m able to save the pdf in local drive, but an error is coming in the Order page(at the bottom) "Action could not be executed successfully".
The action has been setup with "Printonly" and "Smartforms print" in customization.
I have a dount whether, this action Printonly is only to print the smartform ??? Or can we use just to save the smartform in pdf.
But when i remove the pdf conversion and save dialog and try to print it directly, Its printing the smartform. No errors are coming.
But guys, please help me on this. I have tried all the tricks i know.
I just want to save a smartform in pdf with action profile configured.

PDF with Chinese text is unreadable?

Hi,
Ive tried the language packs but they don't help.
We have a chinese client who sends us PDFs with Chinese and English text in them, but the fonts are all messed up? It is unreadable because all the text appears to have really thick bolding, and the characters are spaced too close to each other.
Is this a bug, or am I missing a simple preference setting to fix this?
We have (ashamed to say!) tried opening the PDFs in another PDF reader application (I wont mention names!) and it displays just fine?

What I would try in your situation is Adobe Reader 9 with the corresponding font packs.
Uninstall the current reader and all font packs, then download and install the newest reader, with the font packs mentioned in this post http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b5b05b

Problem during output of smartform in PDF

and then no data in pdf format.

I revised the forum and found several solutions to this. But I have the following problem: when execute the functions that transforms Smartforms to PDF in R3 this generates BinField good. But when I run the model from WebDynpro and attempted access to the field BinFile (returns for model) I get this error:
java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: -1
It's as if the data is not in the field, as if the function dont get it. But when I run into R3 works fine.
I'm doing next to initialize the model structure:

Can not edit text in a PDF with Adobe acrobat professional version 8

I have a PDF doccument that I can not edit any of the text on. all it lets me do is slide the pages around like images but dose not allow me to delete or add any text. It is not password protected at all.
Any ideas on why this is and how to fix it so I can edit this 40 page pdf?

Document > OCR Text Recognition > Recognize Text Using OCR
In the Recognize Text dialog, click the "Edit" button.
In the Recognize Text - Settings dialog the middle entry has a drop-down menu.
From this menu you can select one of three PDF Output Styles.

Edit invoice smartform to email with pdf attachment

Hi,
I need to send the invoice details by mail that are currently only printed through the edit function.
When i go to VF02 enter invoice number and then edit, is it possible to send this message through email with the invoice as pdf attachment?
Also it would be necessary to enter receivers email at that time.
Maybe there is an exit before the sending that could raise a popup...
Do you think this can be done this way?

I have done this succesfully in a different way:
1) Create a Z Table for the email ID per Bill to party - this table accomodates up to 999 email ids per customer and also has a column for CC
2) Create a new output type for EMAIL purposes with the Transmission medium as 1 -
assign the output program and form to this.
In the program, add new code to refer to the new Z table for getting the email ids of respective Bill to parties
In the program add code to convert the form to PDF format and attach to the email craeted.
Your ABAPPER should be able to assist in this code writing - in my case it took some time to get the desired result but the customers are very happy with the end result -

Link problem when converting MS Word to PDF with Acrobat Professional

Hello all,
I have the following problem:
When I have a MS Word document with links to other files inside and I convert it to PDF the links are converted from relative paths to absolute paths.
The problem is created by Acrobat as the links in the MS Word file are relative (I have checked this by moving the different docs to another directory and confirmed that the links still work after the move).
How can I make the paths in the PDF relative again? I know there is a plugin from Evermap (and I can confirm this works) but I do not want to use this plugin (=read: spend another $190 dollars) as the license for the Acrobat Professional is expensive enough . Is there a way I can convert the paths within Adobe Acrobat easily? Or better: can I adjust the settings in Acrobat to a new standard when all converted documents contain relative paths?

Dear Steve,
I have tried what u suggested: I put all the documents (word + linked documents) into the same folder on the local-drive (C). Then I recreated the links in the word document to be sure they were matching. After that I converted the word document to an PDF and confirmed the links were still working in the PDF document.
Then the biggest challenge: copying the pdf and linked documents to another drive&directory. As you can guess: Unfortunately the links did not work anymore.
Any other suggestions?
If I use the Evermap-tool (30 day-trial) I can look at the links and this is how it is 'coded' in the pdf.
first link: ../../../../test/link_a.pdf
second link: ../../../../test/link_b.pdf
and yes this will work if you put the documents in the directory test in the root of the local-drive but not in a different subdirectory.
Anyone ideas?

Problems converting Wrod doc (2007) to PDF with Adobe Acrobat 8.x

I have been trying to save a word document (2007) to PDF. If I open Acro
bat and try to do it there by selecting a file I get a message that says unexpected error - no details. If
i try from Word, the file appears to process but there is no document.
I see nothing on line that answers this question.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. While I can't help with your Acrobat question (you're not in the Acrobat forum, but rather in the Acrobat.com forum), I can tell you that there are two online services that can do this conversion for you:
1. Acrobat.com (www.acrobat.com) is a service for creating and sharing files, as well as web conferencing;
2. Adobe CreatePDF (http://createpdf.acrobat.com) is a service solely for creating PDF files from existing documents.
I would recommend either of those services to you for creating PDF files from your existing Word documents, as well as from image files and other text files (for a full list of supported documents, please see http://createpdf.acrobat.com/faq.html).
For help solving the Acrobat problem, you'll probably want to re-post your question to the forum on the Acrobat User Community site: www.acrobatusers.com/forum

Exporting to PDF with Chinese Extension b characters

When viewing the report in Crystal Reports Designer (Preview Tab), the chinese characters extension b can be displayed correctlybut when exporting thru File -> Export -> PDF those characters are no longer included in the exported PDF. im using Mingliu Font (TTF). is this a bug? or im just lacking any additional setting for this.Also tried in JRC same problem (installed asian font packs so that it would be displayed correctly) though those characters are displayed as ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

From control panel for to fonts and copy the COURIER NEW (TrueTYpe) font on to ur desktop .
Upload the the same font file using RSTXPDF2 by specifying it in the file name.
Then try to execute the tcode which u r usingh for converting the output to PDF and check whether the desired output has been converted.

Opening PDF with chinese characters. Some characters change

I need to open a 4 page PDF that was originally created in word in Simplified Chinese. But when I open the PDF in Illustrator with Simplified Chinese open, some of the characters change. My client in the past has had success outlining the chinese before she sends. But it is no longer working for some reason. How can I match what I see on the PDF without having to convert it to a rastered image.?

Might not be working this time because the font is different. Calibri for example in english is one that does tno go over becasue of some unicode issue and you get boxes instead.
In any case you can in Acrobat >> file >> save as > more options >> encapsulated Postscipt. Open the .eps in illustaror and your font should be outlined, and correct.

Form conversion to PDF with Chinese characters

Hello.
I have a Sap script form and it has Chinese characters in the title and footer. It is converted to PDF then send it to email, at transaction SOST. The Chinese characters was replaced by '#'.
Our basis tried to install the device driver for PDF stated in sap note 999712, but still it didn't correct the form's output in the PDF file. The form is in ZH and the font used in the form is CNSONG. The transactions was also executed during ZH logon. Would anybody know a solution to this?

Create 1.4 PDF with Framemaker / Distiller 11

System: Windows XP SP3
In our office we have a small problem. We want to create PDFs with the
version 1.4.
We are creating those PDFs from the Framemaker and use the Distiller (both
are the newest versions).
I can't understand why it doesn't work, if I take the created PDF (1.6) and use the Distiller again to convert, it works.
But from Framemaker direct it doesn't work.

I created new job options (pdf version 1.4) and saved the created file from framemaker as a pdf with these job options.
The settings from the job options:
- Compability: Acrobat 5.0 (PDF 1.4)
When I create the PDF it seems like the distiller would work but when I check the document it's still pdf version 1.6.

SMARTFORM to PDF generation

Hi Experts,
I have some problems in generating my SMARTFORMS in PDF in Ukranian Language. Some of the characters are overlapping when it is generated in PDF but when you print and preview it in SMARTFORM it is not encountering the said problem.
What i tried is putting a space between those overlapping characters in language translation SE63 and it did resolve the problem in PDF, however in SMARTFORMS that additional spaces between characters are also being displayed. And that is for text elements only. However for thos data that to be retrieved in Ukrainian Language (cyrillic characters), it still overlapping.
I still dont know the reason why when you put additional space in the SE63 langauge translation, it fixes the overlapping issue, but this is not a good solution since some of data that have been retrieved is also in cyrillic and its still overlapping.
May I have your opinion about this. Thanks for the wonderful ideas.

This problem could be caused by the character sets installed for Adobe. Please ensure that you have the correct character sets installed in order for Adobe to recognize the Ukranian characters.
