Problem on keyboard: only "F" key

I have problem sometimes with "F" key. I noted that when office programm is open, in a certain time if i push "F" key it doesn't work. All key work perfectly (i.e. if I write "france", I have in the editor "rance").
Please suggest me.
Then i must restart PC and it works.

Try and reset the PRAM to see if this will resolve it.
Shut down the computer. Hold down the apple,option,P, and R keys all at once. Restart the computer and keep holding them down. Let them go when the startup chime sounds the second time.
Let us know if this works..

Sometimes this is caused by accidently setting "mouse keys" on by hitting the Option key 5 times.
Look in System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > Turn Mouse Keys off.

Recharging is a good thing to try. They do start to act odd when the battery gets low. Beyond that, just like Tom says, contact Zagg. I have one of their keyboards and the company has wonderful customer service.

Problem with keyboard

when typing the keyboard sometimes repeats keys.
I also tried to channge (note the error in the previous word) the keyboard setup (repetition speed and initial delay) but it dooesn't (note again) affect the problem.
is someone of you aware of some other setup I can operate?

I have studied this problem now extensively and found the following:
1) The problem is not in my iMac only but exists also in other iMacs. I tested several of them on display at one Finnish Apple reseller and found machines the problem was even worse. Therefore, the Apple keyboard replacement does not help.
2) The problem is related to key response and individual typing style.
3) Every key has a mass and a return spring. Therefore, a key is a vibrating system unless there is enough damping to kill the vibrations. Apparently Apple keyboard keys can vibrate 2..3 times with certain typing styles causing several characters to appear on the screen with one LIGHT hit on the key.
4) Therefore, this problem could be solved if Apple (or clever hackers anywhere by using the Terminal) would write a code which would install a few millisecond delay until a new hit on the same key is accepted. There is a maximum rate humans can repeatedly hit one key, say every 0.1 second or 100 milliseconds. The possible vibrations are much faster and therefore a delay of, say 50 milliseconds, would effectively kill the effects of any vibrations but would not affect the typing in anyway.
5) This problem is a bug in Apple products and should be fixed with a Keyboard software update.
6) The problem can be solved by purchasing a Mac compatible Logitech keyboard. I tested several of them and none had the problem described here. Apparently Logitech keyboards have a different key response and damping characteristics and the problem does not appear.

Keyboard without funtions keys

i had changing my keyboard, Mac Os did all the work recognizing my keybord but with the problem that the multimedia function keys dont work, I configured its in System preference -> mouse and keyboard actioning the case activating function keys Fn + F? but this selection doesnt get effect I can´t use muy multimedia fucntions ( up volume, down volume, play, stop, etc) in my new keyword, this is apple keyboard I dont know model, serial number, anything about the keyboard only that it has an apple in the middle and is so slim.
What can i do to get configured the functions keys in my new apple keyboard?

I would contact HP and advise them of what happened.. they might be able to have the whole keyboard replaced. You could also check online for some indiviual keys but they are not always easy to get.

Keyboard-only navigation no longer working in Mail.app

In previous builds of Leopard, I was really liking the ability to navigate my mailboxes using keyboard only...e.g. left arrow key to get out of messages and into mailboxes, then up/down or start typing name to select mailbox, right arrow key to get into messages for currently-selected mailbox, etc.
Release version seems to have killed this...is there a way to get that behavior back?

I need to use a "pause" key on windows parallel, or the fn f15 key. I have a mac book pro 13" and only see keys upto f12. Is there a way to do this?

I own a mac book pro 13" and I use parallels for work and desperately need the "pause" key that used to be on my PC. It is the equivalent of the f15 key. My keyboard only goes up to f12 and I have looked in here and on google and can't figure it out. doesn't anyone have ideas?

I have found the solution for myself for the above. I use a specific scripting program which is accessed by Control A. To pause it, you need to use Control B. not sure if this would work for any other application but it resolves my dilemma after hours of trying!

... and, where checking, with clicking on both my spacebar and delete function keys, along with in my own case, additionally, my ["/'] key, ... in a Text Edit document, .. each, does in fact work.
What does this tell me in fact. ?
— Typing this, part and part, on both my main keyboard, together along with a "USB" plug-in.
— This on a 2009 "iMac", running Mac OS X v.10.6.8.

Users can use keyboard in the basic console and this is a failure within KDE or the X-server.
On this upgrade I needed to add the portmap daemon to rc.conf.
I am running kerrnel 2.6.5-2. The upgrade lifted KDE to KDE 3.2.2. Xfree86 was upgraded previously and did not present this problem so the KDE upgrade is under suspicion.
My rc.conf daemons list is DAEMONS=(portmap syslogd klogd !pcmcia network netfs crond fam cups kdm)
Is there something extra I need to add?

I tidied up my daemons, after considering how you've set yours. I agree portmap and fam are not useful. I now understand that the upgrade was leaning on fam so that it noticed portmap was missing... a red herring issue, perhaps?
I had no means of getting a dmesg log readout, because of the keyboard crashing. So I have patiently reinstalled kde 3.2.1, by way of adding the components one by one from /var/cache/pacman/pkg/. That works, so I can now pause and investigate if there are any any known issues with the 3.2.2 upgrade that shed light.
I did get an indicator that the DCOP server did not function properly. This happened as warnings and errors, when I installed an additional user.

How to reinstall OSX with keyboard only or get mouse to work

I am incredibly frustrated....
I provide support for about 15 Macs and I have never experienced this. I turned on an Intel iMac and could not get the mouse clicks to register. The right click would work, but not the left. This was the case for 5 different mice including the apple corded one.
I tried resetting the PRAM NV, etc....nothing
When booting and holding option, my choices come up and I am able to left click to choose the drive and arrow button. This is the ONLY time my LEFT mouse clicks work. Not in disk utility either.
Needing to format the drive and reinstall anyway, I went ahead the long way with the keyboard and erased the drive in order to make a fresh install, hoping that would solve my issue somehow. Well this would be great and all, but Apple decided to make this an absolute pain.
I can work my way through the reinstall screen using tab, spacebar and the arrows. However when I get to the drive options to install on, I can get the drive to have the selected outline but can never get it to highlight the "Install" button. At this screen, only the arrow keys seem to do anything.
I have searched for a couple hours now and am about to go crazy. Can anyone help with either the left mouse click issue, or how to choose the install drive with a keyboard only?

Well, guess it was that dumb. Yesterday, that was the very first thing I checked. All trackpads, bluetooth mice were pulled out and batteries removed.
Did another dig into a large box and found a "Magic Mouse" that had batteries from YEARS ago (of course in an upstairs closet). This mouse has never been used on this or any computer that I can think of.
Thanks for the nonsensical piece of hardware that no real computer user would subject themselves to. THEN, to have it connect randomly to other computers and highjack their mouse function? How about SOME type of indication that your little mouse has taken over? Too hard to foresee this? Solid programming and hardware development.......Apple, I hope you pick up my sarcasm on your imbolent product. I think my anger is about to let out on that little useless pos. Did you check under the key for smutz. What kind of keyboard?

HT5636 I am using an Apple keyboard with numeric key pad.

I have a new Mac OSX 10.9.2. I am using Bootcamp to run WIndows 8.1.
I have just connected a new USB Apple keyboard with numeric key pad.
All works fine in OSX. But in windows the numeric numbers on the keypad wont work.
Numlock appears to work, but nothing happens when the number keys are pressed.
The keys / * - +and entre all work ok. Just not the numbers.
MIcrosoft SUPPORT REFUSED to help me because i am using a mac, they claim it is a hardware problem.

I would look for a program which would display the ascii value of typed letters
if i had the letter the key send one can assign that value to any other function one wish
