Hello,
I'm trying to install LabVIEW 7.1 on my Debian SID x64, I have all de requirement writen in the Readme.txt and I tryed to install it by INSTALL-norpm . The problem is that I always get :
#sh INSTALL.norpm labview70-appbuild /usr/local/share/labVIEW/
Installing labview70-appbuild-7.0-1.i386.rpm into /usr/local/share/labVIEW/...
/home/esox/labview/rpm2cpio: error while loading shared libraries: libdb.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
even if :
#locate libdb.so.2
/lib/libdb.so.2
Could you help me?
Thanks a lot

it seems to be very very hard to install Oracle 9i on Debian Etch, I found this on the net :
> Is it possible to install Oracle 9i on Debian etch?
So far I have had no luck due libraries requirement.
I appreciate any suggestions.Officially no.
Unofficially, you should be able to with a loooot of tweaking. The
secret is in the "compat" libraries. Basically Oracle is a binary
distribution and relies on gcc296 - not gcc3. You should also get your
own jdk install. Get 1.1.8 (yep - good old one) and use it to run the
installer. With Oracle9i there's no gurantee that the jdk in the
installer will run on your distro. Luckily you can override the jdk with
your own.
If anyone knows a simple way to do it, I'd like to know, but I'd rather give up about this idea
It seems to be to tricky for my poor Linux knowledge

  • Labview winxp 64bit *VI coding only* with DAQmx

We have a few workstations in our lab, with a labview 8.2 license for each. One of our machines (few months old dell) has windows xp pro 64bit installed as the operating system. It is not used for data aquistion of any sort, but we do want to be able to write/fix/code VIs involving DAQmx.
The official NI line is that winxp 64 is not supported, but since i don't want to do data aquisition on this machine, there should be some way to create VI with DAQmx.
I have tried an install of labview then a manual install of DAQmx 64bit components manually from the Drivers CD, but it remained invisible to Labview.
Can anyone give me any help with this?
    thanks.

    Hi
    FieldKam,
The first thing i tried was the labview install, which of course did not install DAQmx. I then tried to install the NI-DAQ resource disk onto the pc, which resulted in the installer terminating upon the discovery that is was winxp 64.
I then took a closer look at the contents of NI-DAQ's folders, and found 64 bit installers in locations such as \NIDAQ861-1\Products\NI-DAQmx\.
These individual installers appeared to run without issue, but the ability to write VI's in labview with DAQmx assistant and other components would not show.
Now since, data acquisition would not be done on this machine, i pondered a 32bit install. Win xp 64 does run 32 bit applications as well, but i could not fool the installer to install for win xp 32. I attempted to copy a 32 bit install from another machine by folders and registry keys. This made DAQmx - Data acquisition icon under Measurement IO subpalette, but it lacked components such as DAQmx assistant.
Next i tried a brute force approach: i overwrote the folders with those of a 32bit install, which provided all the DAQmx tools in labview, but then was confronted with the problem that Labview could not find the dll (& other libraries) dependencies. I haven't been able to progress past this point.
thanks for any tips you may have!

  • Run-time engine problem in Labview 2009 and Labview 2010

I have a problem with Labview 2009 and Labview 2010. I updated my Labview 2009 into 2010. But it turned out to be a trial one, because i did not have the serial number. So I uninstalled the Labview 2010. however, the funny stuff came over. I cannot use my Labview 2009. So i uninstalled Labview 2009 again. But eventually, I could not reinstall Labview 2009. Every time i had a runtime error and i could not proceed with the installation. in addition, any installation  related to Labview is not permitted and the same error came up every time. it is very annoying.
    So, What is the deal?
I attached the error here. Any comments or advice are welcomed and appreciated.

By chance is this machine's language set to any non-English locale?  You would check the locale setting by:
    Opening Control Panel.
    Opening "Regional and Language Options".
Looking Under "Regional Options" >> "Standards and Formats"
If it is set to something besides English, trying setting it to English and please report back what locale it was set to (or if this even solves the problem).

  • MediaBox problem on Windows 7 64bit

    Hi,
I've noticed problem with MediaBox on 64bit Windows 7.
Several month ago everything worked properly - I didn't program it but check on the website: http://javafx.com/samples/MediaBox/index.html (*)
Today I've tried to experiment a little with MediaBox, and I've started to build an application described there: http://javafx.com/samples/VideoCube/index.html it didn't start nor in browser nor downloaded and compiled locally. The error during execution was as follows:
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com.sun.media.jmcimpl.plugins.directshow.DShowEngine.ndsInit(I)Z
I've checked the link (*) but it failed too.
I've made checks using both 32bit and 64 bit JVM's installed on my machine but without any success.
    Any help?
    Kuba

Well, a link error is generally thrown when Java cannot access some native library binding, but you probably already knew that. I've checked Google, and although I have seen people with similar problems, I haven't seen any viable solutions. I checked JIRA and the quick search did not reveal any bug reports describing this. Maybe you could file one: http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/
In any case, the rumors say that JavaFX 2.0 public beta will be coming next month and it apparently includes an all new media stack. Maybe you'll get lucky and it won't be an issue then. Windows 7 is still significantly less popular than Windows XP, so I'm sure your project can survive in the mean time.

  • Where can i download the trial version of the Labview 2013 64bit Report Generator Toolkit for Microsoft Office?

    Hi all,
I am having trouble locating a LabVIEW Toolkit.  Could somebody please send me a link to somewhere where I can download the eval version of the Report Generator Toolkit for Microsoft Office for LabVIEW 2013 64bit.?
    Thank you in advance,
    Bob

Yes here is the 2013 version.
    http://download.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/2013RGT_downloader.exe
And here is the 2014 version.
    http://ftp.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/2014RGT_downloader.exe
I believe both are for 32 bit LabVIEW, which works in both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows.  Honestly until all toolkits support 64 bit Windows, I still don't see much of a reason to go with 64 bit LabVIEW.  The support is just better with 32 bit.

  • Labview 2012 (64bit) not working with ActiveX and MSAccess

I have a program developed to open a MSAccess database file and import data using ActiveX commands. The program works with LabView 2012 (32bit) but fails on the ActiveX open command when using LabView 2012 (64bit). I also have the application built as an EXE and it works fine in a windows 32 bit environment (XP or Win 7-32bit) but fails when run on Win 7-64bit. I isolated the error down to the Active X automation Open VI.
Anyone have a solution for the incompatibility?
    summary
1.) VI and EXE works on XP and Win 7-32bit
2.) EXE fail on Win 7-64bit.
3.) VI works on Win 7-64 bit with LV 2012 (32bit)
4.) VI fails on Win 7-64 bit with LV 2012 (64bit)

It looks like you are trying to load a 32-bit DLL from a 64-bit OS. Do you have a 64-bit version of access installed? You'll need to change to that. On the other hand, ActiveX with Access is so slow. You can speed things up considerably by using ADO (i.e. NI's Database Connectivity Toolkit or something like LabSQL).

  • Problems Installing LabVIEW

Problems Installing LabVIEW Run-Time Engine for Ubuntu 11.04
I'm relatively new to Ubuntu and its community, but have been pleasantly surprised with how easy troubleshooting has been. Unfortunately, I've spent the last two days trying to install the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine, but keep coming up short.
I've tried a number methods from the following threads to no avail:
The problem I'm having now is that despite having the ia32-libs, here is what comes up:
    Input: "sudo alien - k --scripts labview-2009-rte-9.0.1-1.i386.rpm"
Response: "labview-2009-rte-9.0.1-1.i386.rpm is for architecture i386; the package cannot be built on this system".
Alien is required because Ubuntu isn't compatible with the .rpm format.
Your help would be immensely appreciated since we use LabVIEW programs to display, manipulate and simulate our spectra.

I work in the power conversion industry and do these types of measurements all the time…
Do you want to just measure power quality or create and measure power quality problems?
    What hardware are you using?
    Power quality analyzer?
    Programmable AC power source?
    Fast Transient Generator?
Here is an example of what I do.
To create PQ problems I use a California Instruments AC source set to nominal power for the unit under test. Using Labview I program several transients consisting of fixed and random duration dropouts and surges. I also use a Schaffer Fast Transient Burst Generator to apply high frequency noise bursts directly onto power lines.
For measuring power quality I use a Voltech PM3000A power analyzer and Labview to measure everything from voltage, current, and frequency, to  harmonics and %THD

    Hi,
IMAQ GetScreenSize is obsolete. Refer to KB: Compatibility Library when Upgrading from Older Versions of Vision Development Module.
Instead of this function you can use Display.Primary Workspace or Display. All Monitors property node.

  • Problems with LabVIEW 7.1 and lock-in amplifier Stanford SR530?

Does has anybody had problems with LabVIEW 7.1 and the instrument driver for the lock-in amplifier Stanford SR530?
With LabVIEW 6 there are no problems at all, but with LabVIEW 7.1 it is impossible to communicate with the instrument.

Here is the code and snippet. I had it from before. It reads Channel 1 and Channel 2 from the SR530, that is whatever the display is for Channel 1 & 2. You set the display manually or programmatically, I let you figure that part out.

  • Strange math-problem with LabVIEW 7.1

    Hello!
I am using LabVIEW 7.1 and I came to this strange math-problem. Could it be that it is a problem of LabVIEW 7.1?
Ok try this with LabVIEW 7.1:
    open a new VI
place a subtract-VI (pallet numerical) on the block diagram and try to subtract 0.2 from 1.6
place a less-VI (pallet compare) on the block diagram and wire a numerical constant 1.4 to input x
wire the result of the subtraction to input y of the comparison
place an LED to the output of the comparison
    and start this.
    What does it say?
The LED should turn on and this means here that 1.4 would be less than 1.4 .
But I would have expected that 1.4 is not less than 1.4 .
This works also if you add or subtract upto 0.2 to/from the values 1.4 and 1.6 (or equivalent with 0.2) .
If you change the inputs of the comparison then the result is as expected and 1.4 is reported not to be less than 1.4 .
If you compare two constants with the same value 1.4 you will not get the same strange result.
Does anybody have an explanation for this?

    Hello,
For floating point math: Rounding to multiples of 0.1 is problematic as
those numbers are infinite fractions in base2 representation...
So maybe you should change your numbers to integers using fixed point math. If all your input values are in the range of 1.4 to 1.8 you can multiply by 10000 and round to next integer. Then do your comparison on that integer (there's also an 'InRange' function in the comparison palette).
