Problem on MMC

I started MMC there was strdbs.cmd and dispatcher, messageserver
dispatcher apperars in green but strtdbs.cmd shows red(data base stopped)
I checked the oracle services they are working properlybut iam connectibg to SAP  system freely.
is any body there to resolve the issue
with regards
praveen.

this is a workaround, I dont know yet the reason for this but I have the same problem on a new server and I solved it like this:
open task manager, look for cmd.exe processes and kill them. The system will finish starting normally.
Dirty solution is to empty the file strdbs.cmd
Strdbs tries to launch the database which is already started, so it's not necessary.

  • Problem with MMC

    Hi Gurus,
The server list in my SAP MMC is missing, i cant view any items there.
Please help as we are about to go Live.
    Ashwin.

    Hi,
Check if there is any password changes for the user ID <SID>adm and SAPservice<SID>.
The password for these users should be same as the password for the user in the SAP services, the services will be running under one of these users.
Also set passowrd of these users as no expiration and no change of password.
Intimate this to the server admins.
    This should resolve the problem.
    Regards,
    Raju.

  • Problem with MMC after installing ARGO

    Hello,
after installing ARGO I got in trouble with my Microsoft SAPMMC control panel. It does not working properly anymore. The MMC is not reponding when clicking yes for the question of converting the data to the new mmc version.
I have already installed one portal NW04s and three portals NW04.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this issue?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Olaf Reiss

    Hi Olaf,
maybe there is something wrong with your sapmmc.msc configuration. You can try to create a new one by following these steps:
    Start <i>mmc.exe</i>
    Choose <i>File</i> -> <i>Add/Remove Snap in...</i> -> <i>Standalone</i> tab -> <i>Add...</i>
    Select <i>SAP Systems Manager</i>
Place a checkmark into all checkboxes in the <i>General Settings</i> window and select <i>Use fixed SAP Instance list</i>. Press <i>Next</i>
Select <i>Remote Administration Communication Security</i> level "Low" and press <i>Next</i>
    Press <i>Finish</i>
If this does not help, you could try switching off <i>Always show local SAP instances</i> at the fourth step above and add the instances manually in the <i>Fixed instance list</i> (last step).
Finally, save your new MMC configuration.
    Hopefully this solves the problem.
    Regards,
    Dirk

  • Problem Reading MMC Card

    Kit
    ===
    Nokia 9300i
    Nokia 9300
    MMC+ Card - MobyMemory 1GB
The memory card has worked perfectly on both phones until recently. Both phones no longer recognise the card and all the Memory Card drop down menus are now inactive. However, when the card is plugged into a USB2 Card Reader in my computer, the card can be read perfectly. I reformatted the card on the computer (using FAT and not FAT32) but the phones still refuse to recognise the card is there.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.
    Best regards,
    DB

I've had this problem when I've not inserted card correctly - but seems odd in your case if it doesn't work on either.
Have you tried restarting both phones (eg remove batteries?

  • MMC cannot see network drives

I have just build several PCs with Windows 8.1 Pro for my team. I have a problem with mmc.exe - it cannot seem to see any network drives. When I try to save a custom console, the dialog box only presents the local drives. If I try to open a saved file from
a network drive, I get an error box saying:
"MMC cannot open the file Z:\test.msc.
This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient rights to access the file."
If I then move the MSC file to the local disk, it opens correctly.
I can confirm that my NTFS permissions are fine (I can open the MSC file from my Z: drive just fine on my old Windows 7 PC). No matter what I do, though, MMC on the new PCs simply doesn't acknowledge the existence of any network drives. No other programs
have problems with network drives - only MMC. The only thing I could find when searching for the problem was someone reporting the same symptom on Windows 7 after installing the RSAT tools, but there were no answers on that page. The RSAT tools are installed
on my machines, and I have tried uninstalling them, but it made no difference. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Iain

I think you are running into a situation due to User Account Control.
As you probablu know, UAC enforces administrators to run as a normal user by default, and 'elevate' to administrative privileges on a per process base. This measn that there are actually two user sessions: the user and the elevated one. each of those can
have it's own mapped network drives.
verify if this is the case by running  bot a normal and an elevated command prompt and running
net use to show the mapped drives.
then on how to solve this... this behavior is by design and as expected. you should map your drives twice: once as user and once being elevated.
A possible workaround is to disable UAC, which I would not recommend as UAC is an important security boundary

  • "MMC could not create the snap in.The Snap in might not have been instaled

    Hi ,
After completed installation of NWDS SP 14 version and after system
restart, our local  server is not working its showing an error.
"MMC could not create the snap in.The Snap in might not have been
    installed correctly."
SAP Logon is also now working in my system. NWDS is not properly installed i
    think.
Actually on that day gui also i have installed on our local server.
but when i login through <sidadm> server showing tree & also i am able to start server.
but i am not able to uninstall & install any gui or nwds...
    what to do.....

    Hi,
MMC is not specific to GUI or MWDS. It is a management tool to start/stop server. It has nothing to do with GUI or NWDS.
    1) Login with admin account (windows admin account, say sidadm) and check if MMC loads the tree with nodes for server instances. If so, use that and start server.
    2) If required, check with authorizations for the windows account
    3) If nothing works, then check these threads.

    Hi,
This is because your ABAP system has come up but your java instance is still down.
Hope you have your kernel files right. Do compare it your old kernel files. Do have the most important files.
Since java is not coming up. so under J2ee process table look for the problem in MMC. That is if dispatcher has the problem or the server nodes.
    revert back with the answers.
Hope this helps you to know how to troubleshoot.
regards and do reward for helpful answers.

  • NW2004s Sneak Preview Java install never starts up

I've installed NW2004s Sneak Preview Java on Windows XP Media Centre Edition with 2Gb RAM and 8Gb swapfile but the server never finished starting up properly.
I've tried with JSDK 1.4.2_09, _11, _12 and with the recommended Sun JDK parameters but always the same problem.
The MMC reports the server has started up completely, with all green icons, but when I open a browser and point at http://localhost:50100/irj or anything else I get a 503 Service Unavailable or 503 The Application Is Currently Stopped errors.
The CPU usage of the J2E service processes keep chugging away at about 70% CPU utilisation, and I left it going for 24hrs but it never finishes.
There dont seem to be any errors in the logs that indicate why it doesnt finish starting up.
Has anyone managed to do an install on XP Media Centre Edition, or any version of XP?
    Any suggestions?
    Steve

    Rich,
Thanks for the reply. I still get the same problem. MMC reports SDM, Server0 and Dispatcher all running, and  http://localhost:50100/index.html gives:
    503   Service Unavailable SAP J2EE Engine/7.00
Cannot process a request for dynamic resources.
Details:   Web Container service is currently unavailable.
fter another 10 mins or so the error message is:
    503   Service Unavailable   SAP J2EE Engine/7.00
    Application stopped.
Details:   You have requested an application that is currently stopped
There are now a few hundred error messages in defaulttrace, which indicate 70 services failed, although it doesnt explain why. This is the first error in defaultTrace while starting:

  • Imaged Windows 8.1 computers do not have a functional ConfigMgr Client- Certificates are not being installed

Using ConfigMgr 2012 R2 (no CU). OSD was working fine prior to the recent black tuesday patch problems. Domain Contoller (and also CA) as well as all clients got all the recent August patches. Just built 2 machines, one physical (inspiron 15, other hyper
    V) Both imaged computers went fine, OS added all security patches, and left me at ctrl alt delete. Logging on i noticed that software never got deployed, configmgr client was single tiered. ran ccmrepair, no affect, group policy repair, wmi reset, etc. Client
never fully installed. SCEP patches for DEFs worked but that was through WSUS. uninstalled client completely, cleaned smscfg.ini, regedit to remove entries for install and then re ran \\server\share\ccmsetup /usepkicert SMSSITECODE=XXX
    same problem
opened MMC computer account logged in as local admin, and there are NO certs under personal
this is what i should have below(based on an old image that worked) There are some errors on the Domain Controller, CA (same one box)
    Certificate enrollment for Local system is successfully authenticated by policy server ldap: using authentication mechanism windows integrated (Credential: credential is private). Policy Id: {6AF312CA-551D-477C-8931-C2217574F832}
Certificate enrollment for Local system successfully load policy from policy server
Certificate enrollment for Local system for the template DomainController was not performed because this template has been superseded.
The "Microsoft Platform Crypto Provider" provider was not loaded because initialization failed.
Certificate enrollment for Local system could not enroll for a Machine certificate.  Read or enrollment access is not allowed for this template.
Certificate enrollment for Local system could not enroll for a MachineEnrollmentAgent certificate.  Read or enrollment access is not allowed for this template.
Certificate enrollment for Local system could not enroll for a IPSECIntermediateOnline certificate.  A valid certification authority cannot be found to issue this template.
    Certificate enrollment for ANER\Administrator is successfully authenticated by policy server ldap: using authentication mechanism windows integrated (Credential: credential is private). Policy Id: {6AF312CA-551D-477C-8931-C2217574F832}
these repeat over and over periodically.
Certificate enrollment for ANER\Administrator successfully load policy from policy server
Not sure what could have happened here. The errors appear to go back until several months so i dont know if they are the cause of this. I know group policy is responsible for getting the certs installed. I have configured autoenrollment in the user and computer
areas of GP for both default policy and domain controller policy.
I am deeply perplexed. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

SMSTS log on the client without certs: (did you want one on the configmgr box?)

  • How to secure connection in sql server 2008? my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc

i'm recently working on hardening of sql server 2008. now i face with a problem. my problem is  how to secure connection in sql server 2008?  my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc? what are these certificates about?and guide
me in choosing the appropriate certificate.
and how should i know that the connection in sql server is secured?
plz guide me from the beginning cause i'm rookie in this subject.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi sqlfan,
Question 1: my problem is how to secure connection in sql server 2008?
Microsoft SQL Server can use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt data that is transmitted across a network between an instance of SQL Server and a client application. For more information about Encrypting Connections to SQL Server, please refer to the following
    article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067(v=sql.105).aspx
Question 2: my main problem is which certificate should i add in mmc? what are these certificates about?and guide me in choosing the appropriate certificate.
To install a certificate in the Windows certificate store of the server computer, you will need to purchase/provision a certificate from a certificate authority first. So please go to a certificate authority to choose the appropriate certificate.
For SQL Server to load a SSL certificate, the certificate must meet the following conditions:
The certificate must be in either the local computer certificate store or the current user certificate store.
The current system time must be after the Valid from property of the certificate and before the Valid to property of the certificate.
The certificate must be meant for server authentication. This requires the Enhanced Key Usage property of the certificate to specify Server Authentication (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1).
The certificate must be created by using the KeySpec option of AT_KEYEXCHANGE. Usually, the certificate's key usage property (KEY_USAGE) will also include key encipherment (CERT_KEY_ENCIPHERMENT_KEY_USAGE).
The Subject property of the certificate must indicate that the common name (CN) is the same as the host name or fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server computer. If SQL Server is running on a failover cluster, the common name must match the host
name or FQDN of the virtual server and the certificates must be provisioned on all nodes in the failover cluster.
Question 3: how should i know that the connection in sql server is secured?
If the certificate is configured to be used, and the value of the ForceEncryption option is set to Yes, all data transmitted across a network between SQL Server and the client application will be encrypted using the certificate. For more detail about this,
please refer to Configuring SSL for SQL Server in the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189067(v=sql.105).aspx
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

    Donghui Li

  • Problem Creating User in Identity Center mmc

    Hi all,
anyone who had the same database problem when performing the following action:
In identity center (the mmc user interface):
    - go to your identity store
    - on the general tab page of that identity store click on Add User button
    - provide the input parameters
    - click ok
    - retrieve this error ([Error Message|http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/8959/addmanagererror.png])
I must add that the Database Server I'm using is MS SQL Express 2005.

The problem has been solved, I found the following cause:
    1. At first the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers was installed, this was due to the remote MS SQL connection problems we ran into.
    2. I adjusted the ODBC driver as suggested by Christian R. Schmidt and it worked.
    Thanks for the tip.
