Problem opening Organizer in PSE8

I bought Photoshop Elements 8 and Photoshop Premiere 8 last year. Install them on my laptop and they worked fine.
Three days ago, I was trying to open Photoshop Elements when I ran into problem. When I clicked on Elements ,it opened, and I got the window which give the options of choosing among, Organize, Edit, Create and Share. When I clicked on Organize, I got a window with the title: Failed to open Catalog. And in the window, I got the message : The catalog could not be opened. It is either corrupt or the version is out of date and cannot be updated. However when I click on "edit" in the opening window, the editor opens and I can use it, but I cannot get any of the catalogs or acces the Organizer. I have uninstalled the software, and re install it using the orginial DVD, and I still get the same message. I wonder if anyone can help me to overcome this problem. Many thanks.

It seems that your catalog has become corrupted. Does the catalog management window opens up after showing this error. If yes, tyr repairing the catalog from the repair option present in the dialog box and then try opening it.Or you can make a new catalog and then launch the application.
In case the catalog management dialog box does not open up, press shift while launching the organizer and from there make a new catalog or repair it.

I have a mac and I have just upgrated from element 8 to 10 and I have now problems with organizer. I can open element but when I click on the organizer buttom it seems to start but suddenly it shut down. In the raw converter I cannot find all the advanced functionalities I had earlier. And I also wonder why I had bridge in version 8 and now it is organizer (wich I know from an previsus version when I had windows). Is Organizer better than bridge today?

Bridge is no longer supported Mac OSX. Organizer is a data-base but you can also use iPhoto if preferred.

Two suggestions: the first one is a workaround. You just have to drill down your program file tree to Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer and find the .exe file - the one specifically for Organizer, not Elements. Make a shortcut to that file on your desktop and it will open Organizer. The second suggestion resolved the problem altogether for me. I actually called Dell and after working with several different techs over several different days, I talked to a tech in premium support who was excellent. I discovered from them that it is actually a problem with the windows system files. I have 8.1. I went through a "refresh" on my computer which rebuilt all the files. Then reinstalled Adobe as well as my other programs again and Photoshop Elements Organizer works from the standard desktop shortcut.

We have a problem using Sharepoint 2013 explorer view. (Error - We're having a problem opening this location in file explorer. Add this web site to your trusted sites list and try again).
I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit, Office 2007 32 bit and IE9 32 bit. And the sharepoint site is a https site.
Some people in my organization are able to browse and some users getting the above error. (with the same client machine configuration)
If I clear my browser cache, closes the browser and open it then the explorer view is working. But after a minute if I try again I'm getting the above mentioned error. This 1 minute expiration happens is since the first time I have used explorer
view, not since I opened the browser.
I have tried the following on my machine:
1. Modified the web client service to run automatically.
2. Verified the sharepoint site is part of trusted sites (https://*.spsite.com/)
3. Compatibility mode is turned on.
4. Tried adding
AuthForwardServerList in the webclient registry settings under parameters. (restarted the web client)
5. Verified the BasicAuthLevel set to 1 (since we are using SSL). Tried setting the BasicAuthLevel to 2 as well. (restarted the web client)
6. Tried installing software update for web folders (KB907306).
Verified the below on the production server:
1. The web application has the root site collection.
2. It has WebDav Publishing disabled under IIS Web Server feature.
Could some one please help me in resolving this issue?

According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to use "Open with Explorer" in a document library.
For your issue, please verify the following:
ActiveX controls must be enabled in IE.
As you are using Windows 7 Server as the client computer, you must install the Desktop Experience feature from Server Manager.
Make sure there is a working Root site collection.
Install this hotfix for windows 7 work with sharepoint 2013 :hotfixv4.microsoft.com/.../463266_intl_x64_zip.exe

How can I make folder view the default view when I open Organizer?

I just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11. I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer. I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata. After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.
I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time. I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements. However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view. PLEASE tell me that there is a way to set folder view to the default view! HELP!

Unable to open organizer, editor seems to be ok. A few seconds after I click on organizer this message appears " The action you have requested could not be completed because the application is not responding. It may still be loading or waiting for a response from You." This problem first occured soon after attacking a new Kodak video camera to my computer. The software that comes with the camera, uploaded from the camers, is Media Impression by ArcSoft. The JPG files on my computer now have the ArcSoft logo included with the file names. If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

After I successfully install the adobe photoshop elements 12 for mac, I try to open organizer and a window pops up that says
"Adobe Elements 12 Organizer cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Elements 12 Organizer works with this version of Mac OSX. I have checked for any updates on my Mac and it is up to date.
I have tried reloading and am still getting the same result.
I can open Editor, but not Organizer.
I am running Mac OSX version 10.6.2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with 4 GB memory, all standard stuff that came in the computer and I have no security software running when I do this.
Any idea why it is not working?

kglad, I never get to any error code so your link can't help.
Jeff, I looked at your link and
a) again, I never make it to an error code
b) I'm definitely connected to the internet
c) I can access secure sites; I tried connecting with the firewall disabled and the same thing happened, so I don't believe it's a firewall issue.
d) I don't understand the checking host sites - this is far too complicated for a novice user. It should not be this difficult to get a software running. I don't want to mess with these kinds of settings.
e) I followed the steps for the global sign in root CA and my screen looks the same as the picture here.
I can't activate the software offline as there is no option to generate a response code when I click on having trouble connecting to the internet. All I get is a prompt to change my password.
If the problem were simply connectivity from my computer, then why does the box completely freeze? Can't cancel, can't click on the little X to close it, can't right click on the box to close it. I have to reboot every single time. I know others have had the same problem and I haven't found any answers that I could apply.
I don't understand for the life of me why Adobe does not have TELEPHONE customer support. I have spent 2 days on this, this is crazy.

Good to hear that you are running at the moment.
The causes for organizer and the editor to stop working are usually different. For both to be affected, I would tend to suspect disk space problems. Probably a good idea to check that you have plenty of free space.
Please let us know if you have problems again and we can try troubleshooting.

Problems Opening Elements

I recently installed a store bought version of Elements 10 on my comptuer and after installing it I can only open the organize tab. I can't actually open a new project to edit anything, which basically makes the product useless to me. What can I do to fix this?

Well now I feel kind of dumb.. apparently I wasn't seeing that file. I was creating shortcuts to 'Adobe Premier Elements' In the C:\Program Files\Adobe folder there are six folders: Acrobat.com, Adobe Premier Elements 10, Flash Player, Adobe Help, Elements 10 Organizer and Reader 10.0

That shouldn't be a problem, that's the Active File Monitor which Organizer uses to watch folders for changes. Just to confirm, when you look in this folder"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10"you do see this file:PhotoshopElementsEditor.exeas well as 77 others? Ken

I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes.

If you are in fact running Mac OS 9 or earlier, which is from 2001 or earlier, .dmg files are disk image files like the .smi files used under Mac OS 9, but they are only Mac OS X compatible. They are frequently used to store Mac OS X only installer disk image files. .exe files are are Windows and MS-DOS executable files which can only run with Windows or DOS virtualization:

Most Mac OS 9 programs you'll be able to download either have a .sea, .sit, or .hqx suffix in their file name and are able to be opened with the old Mac OS 9 copy of Stuffit Expander.

Can you open Reader by itself? If so, check if disabling Protected Mode improves the situation [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

When i try to open document library from SharePoint Production portal then it throws the specified error. However, when i open document library from SharePoint Development portal then it opens it in file explorer quite easily.
Production portal is on https whereas development portal is on http. Also, UAG has been configured on production portal.
Any idea where it's getting stuck up? Surely, this is not a browser issue on Windows 7 as it's opening the development portal's document library on the same machine.
I've also done following things:
- Configured Desktop Experience on production environment
- Installed the hotfix for Windows 7

The cause and the resolution methods are the following:
Cause: There is a missing Root site collection...
Resolution: Check and ensure, that the “Managed Paths” are not changed in the web Application’s page, there is a (root) explicit for
this web application and there is a working Root site collection.
If for any reason this is not the case in your environment, you may try the following:
- Apply (if not already) the following Hotfix to one of those clients:

Then, try to delete the cache of the IE browser before reproducing the issue. Check the result..
- Try to temporarily disable the Antivirus and test again.
- Check if you have installed the Desktop Experience feature on the SPS13 server.
- Check if you face this behavior with all users, Or only with some specific ones, Or with all different client OSes..
Otherwise you will need to collect the logs to further analyze...
