Problem printing a report

Hi All...
I have come across a problem in printing a report.I need to print it on a Dot Matrix Printer.
The line size of the report is 183 , n I need to print it on a 132 column paper , it prints all the columns but with characters overlapped.I have created a format in the printer settings.
While printing it I set the format for 132 col paper.
Do I have to create a page format for a list in SPAD transaction ? or any other suggestion ?
Can anybody please help me out.

I need a small help which is very important to me .I want to take print out of one report which is 255 column width ... and that is through dot matrix printer ... i'm unable to take this report in that format , plz help me out in solving the same. its high priority please.

Problem printing a report in Report Builder 6

Hi people, I'm experiencing tremendous difficulty when attempting to print a report in Report Builder 6. I've NEVER had this problem before, and it is a bone of contention to our client. Whenever I try to print a report from the report previewer, I get the following error:
"REP-1849: Failed while printing."
This error occurs irrespective of the query's complexity!
Even if I write a simple query such as, "SELECT 'johann' FROM dual", I get the above error. PLEASE help! Failure to test my report (and implement it) is causing a loss of approximately R570,000.00 to the company.

Problem printing using Report server

I have sucessfully installed Developer server
version 6.0 on NT. I am trying to output my job to the network printer using Reoprt Queue Manager. Unfortunately, I am not unable to do that. The message says " JOB SUBMITTED TO THE REPSERVER", and it just hangs there. My repserver is running on NT as a service and I can get the report to diplay on my screen.
Does anybody have any idea why it's not printing to the printer?
I will really appreciate your help.

I don't know whether this will help you but I am using all my reports converted into *.pdf format so that I can take a print out where ever I want .

Error according printing html report

I bulid a vi to print HTML report but I have problem printing this report .
I try ever to used some example which national Instrument bulid , such as Report Generation > Text
Report, but ever in this example I couldn't print the file (HTML).

Could you tell us what procedure are you following to run that example? and also what version of LabVIEW you have?
The way you have to run that example (Text Report.vi) is that when you open it, in the control that reads: "Report Type" you select HTML, and also in the control that reads "HTML Save Path" you set the path like for example "C:\test1.htm", now run it and you should have now the HTML format type report. I believe that you also have in that same directory of examples another one called : Example HTML Report Report, that one also shows how to print a report to an HTML file. Try the example you mention setting up the controls that I wrote above and it should work. If not please contact us and we can try to send you an original example and see if i
t works. You can do it by this same means or by direct contact ( www.ni.com/ask ).

Problem on print a report in mode character

hi, i have oracle 8i and reports 6i, my reports it's generate in mode character, when i send to print (printer epson fx1180), the print is bad, (i configure the prt files example: bold esc "E", Unbold esc "F"),
MY problem is with windows 2000, i send to print on windows 98 and all good, but now i have windows 2000, anybody help me to config the printers file for windows 2000

You can create a PDF file using the [itext |http://www.lowagie.com/iText/] library
you can create reports using jasperreports
you can print the reports and save them as PDF,EXCEL ,HTML and more...
(jasperreports is using the [itext |http://www.lowagie.com/iText/] library )
you can edit your reports using ireport

Problem with NIReport.llb\Print HTML Report using IE.vi on different machines

We have 5 machines here in our workgroup which have the same state regarding security patches and other system updates. We recently found out that there is a problem with the NIReport.llb\Print HTML Report using IE.vi on the different machines.
If I would open the VI on MachineA the control could be loaded. If I would open the VI on MachineB the control could be loaded. If I would copy the VI from MachineB to MachineA and open the VI the control could not be loaded. If I would copy the VI from MachineA to MachineB and open the VI on MachineB the control could be loaded. MachineB could load the version from MachineA and MachineB but on MachineA only the own version will load. I have seen that both versions have the same GUID for the Microsoft Webbrowser but are different in some other aereas.
Since printing HTML Reports is part of the application which will be distributed as application I want to know if someone else have seen such a behaviour or has got problems distributing an application.
Also I want to know which additional information is stored in an Active-X container about the control beside the GUID.
We have Win XP Prof SP2 with MS IE 6.0.2900.2180 on all machines in the workgroup.

this is the VI <vi.lib>\Utillitiy\NIReport.llb\Print HTML Report using IE.vi copied from a machine that can load and run the VI and it will print. On this machine the control in the VI is white.
This VI will give the "Control could not be loaded" message on my machine.
The file shdocvw.dll is 2006-10-23 16:18 size 1.460 KB and I verifyed that both machines have the same version of this file.

Problem printing duplex even though it's saved in the Crystal Report.

I'm using VS.NET 2010 with Crystal Reports 13.0.10.1385
We have a set of Crystal Reports that were created with Crystal 8.5 and they print duplex and the printer and printer preferences are saved with each Crystal Report.
The problem is this, I'm pulling in these reports to my VS.NET 2010 Project using Crystal Report Viewer and it will not keep the printer preferences when you print the report. Why, it works using VB6.0? The only way I can get it to print duplex is to manually set the printer preferences before printing the report.

Update the reports to CR 2011 or above then that info should be saved. If not add this line of code to your app:
rpt.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex.Default; // you can change the last value
Or if using RAS use this:
CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.PrintOptions RASPO = new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.PrintOptions();
RASPO.PrinterDuplex = CrPrinterDuplexEnum.crPrinterDuplexSimplex;
And comparing RDC to .NET doesn't work. RDC used COM and DEVMODE, .NET uses the System.Printer API set.

Problem in printing Crystal Report from SAP Business One - the printing cut in it width margins

Hi
i'm trying to print crystal report layout from sap b1. when i preview the report as pdf file, i have the option to choose Fit in size option and then the layout print O.k with out any margins that been cut.
The problem start when i'm trying to print the layout directly from sap b1 (printer button) which cause the page to be cut in it width margins.
How can i control the printing of crystal layout when i'm printing it directly from sap b1? do i have the option to chose 'Fit page size' from sap system?

Problem with printing some report

we have some problems with printing some reports.
the problem is when printing a report the computer processes stoped
and i should restart the computer a gain to print the report for first time and
then in the second time i have same problem.

You can check out the new printer driver test utility verions2.0 on OTN at:

This should help you determine if it is a printer problem or whether you should look into another area.
Also, you don't mention which version of reports, what command line options your using, the computer
configuration your using whether it is a network printer or local printer connected to the machine. Support
will need this information to help determine where your problem lies.

Font problem in Crystal report printing

i am using CR 10.0 and .net 2.0 framework. In my report i am using unicode fonts(mangal,arial). Records in Crystal reports are of both font type but when i printing this report it shows only arial font records and turn remaining records in to boxes.
How i can sort out this problem ?

Have you tried updating the printer drivers? or checking your Control Panel to see if the printer is setup correctly?

But my problem is that, there may be no of users will be accessing this report. user will not be having SAP GUI installed in his machine. He will be accessing Transaction IView after login in EP (from any where may be from cyber cafe) and He would like to take printout using any button on the screen.
So suppose any end user having only Internet Explorer installed in his machine, will he be able to take the print out. I think its very genuine requirement.
OR user can not take print out untill SAP GUI is installed in his machine???
Please suggest...

CRVS2010 Beta - Problems with printing Crystal Reports for VS 2010

We have the following problem, we used the version of Crystal Reports that came integrated with visual studio for several years. But we are migrating to the version of Visual Studio 2010, and we are using the version of Crystal Reports for this same version, running on screen is correct, and run all the reports, but in print there is a failure we could not solve. Our customers use printers dot matrix as the "Epson LX300 +", but when you print the report leaves the impression defective in the previous version of Visual Studio 2005 "The impression is quite clear, we have attempted to overcome this problem with the options of PrintMode with activex and pdf in the CrystalReportViewer, and RenderingDPI option with multiple values. Obviously when using other types of printers such as laser or inkjet printing is perfect, but due to cost our customers use the printers mentioned. The server where the application is Windows server 2008 and client computers are windows xp, windows 7, windows vista. As network hardware and printers are working properly, and from other applications and from the other server with versions of Crystal Reports If anyone knows how to solve this problem I would like to receive support and ideas.

I have a question about printing reports. We are using VS2008 and the CR reportviewer with printmode = ActiveX. Many of our users absolutely hate the number of steps they must go through and the time it takes to print a Crystal Report when printmode = PDF. In our environment several times per day, we need to produce hard copies of reports for legal reasons. Making the users first render the report, then had it off to Adobe to print simply takes too much time which is why we are using the ActiveX print control.
We recently started looking at VS2010 and discovered the issue with the unbundling of Crystal Reports. We have not downloaded CR for VS2010 yet.
My question is this: for VS2010, what happened to the ActiveX print control? I read somewhere that it was going to become some WPF-type thing but there weren't many details about that. So when a user clicks on the print button in the Crystal Report Viewer intended for VS2010, what can they expect? Can they still print straight to a printer (is there something that gives them this capabitliy like the Active X print control did?), or has that capability been deprecated and they have to go through PDF? Printing problem in standerd report.

Dear Gurus,
In standard report of maintenance scheduling overview and simulation plan through T-code IP19. I am getting the graphical report.But I am not able to print that report.
Is there any special method to print the Graphical print out in SAP.
Is there any setting in functional customization for it.Or only Basis guy can fix the problem?

Please check if your printer is configured with the system or you have selected in the pop-up window when you click on print icon.
Destination: Local
Print Mode: Pages
Even if there is no printer configured with the system you are able to save the file to the desktop as *.TIF file and print later.

Problem printing Report Document Draft

Dear support,
our customer has problem printing its Document Draft Report, because
the "DRAFT DOCUMENT" string on the background of the page is too large.
The printer can manage this dimension and prints an empty second page
(also when the document has more pages).
See attached file.
If we disable the "Print Draft Watermark on Draft Document" flag in the
Print Preferences, the customer hasn't the problem printing the draft
document.
The customer need to distinguish the print of draft document.
Is it possible in the report designer to know if a document is a Draft or
a Definitive one?
If we can understand the type of the document, we could add a text box
"DRAFT DOCUMENT" in the report and disable the "Print Draft Watermark on
Draft Document" flag.
Can someone help us, please?

For example paper format which default as Letter,but in PLD
if y'r paper format is A4 then definitely it will be printed more than 1 page.
Go to File --> Page Set Up --> Change paper format as in PLD.
Also reduce the font by 1 point.
If problem not get solved,You can print Water mark as DRAFT from printer properties.
Start --> Printer and Faxes > Select Printer you want to print,Right Click it>Select Properties>Select Printing Preferences>Select Effects Tab> Select Water mark option as Draft>Click Apply.
Test print it let me know.

Problem printing report

I have a small problem printing reports which exist of 1 page.
1st report is printed OK
2nd one is bad
3rd one is bad
4rd one is bad
5th is OK again... and so further.
When I choose a different printer, all prints are OK. When I print from another PC on the same printer, all prints are OK.
I assume some settings are disturbing the prints; can anyone suggest where I should take a look?
