Problem printing flash pages - black box

Hello,
I am trying to help someone else in our office who is having
a problem with swf pages converted from PDF documents. The PDFs
were made from either Quark or Indesign documents. The pages
contain graphics, some of which are bitmap (one-color) images. All
looks good on screen when displayed in a browser, but when printed
the graphics become black boxes, as though a black background were
added to the image. Does anyone know why this is happening or can
someone suggest a workaround? We have thousands of pages that need
to print from our user's browsers but find we are plagued with this
issue. The weird thing is, I found that some of the bitmap images
were fine while most of them were bad. I used PitStop professional
to examine the PDFs and there is nothing different about the images
there.
Regards,
Len Swierski

Anybody figure this out???
We're having the same problem too. All of our flash paper
documents are being converted from PDFs that orignally came from
Quark or Indesign. The art department figured out that they could
fix the problem by converting the bitmaps to grayscale. (Our pages
are black and white anyway) We also found out that different
versions of acrobat could fix the probelm. Somtimes version 7 would
work and sometimes version 4 would work. A lot of trial and error
and wasting paper.

  • Pictures printing within a Black Box from a CP1518ni

I have an HP CP1518ni Color LaserJet and while printing sell sheets that contain a lot of graphics, the product pictures are appearing within a Black Box (the normal format has the picture printing with a darkened area, but the problem is that product pictures are appearing within a second layer, black box.)    On my computer screen, this black box is not there and when i print on my inkjet, the picture print correctly.  i spoke with the creator of the sell sheets and it appears that it is a printer issue as opposed to an artwork issue.
I tried printing from a different computer and the problem still exists.  I have also updated the drivers from the website and the issue still exists.  This is not happening on just one sell sheet, it is appearing on every sell sheet that uses the same format.
Confused, frustrated and wasting expensive toner and paper...anyone have any suggestions??  Thanks!

i just bought the same printer.. and had same problem..
when you go to print... look left.. and see that you are printing "full page fax print"... it produces the black border..
choose full page  photo print...right below that...
    problem solved...
    hope it helps..

  • Problem print all pages on my HP Laserjet 1320 from my Mac

I am having a strange printing problem.
Happens in almost any program (Mail / Excel /Preview/Word/TextEdit/etc.).   I can ask it to print a one page document.  It spools, the printer flashes.  The computer said it is done but nothing printed.   On the same document, if I tell it to print 2 copies of the one page document, it will print one page sometimes and two pages other times.  When printing long multipage documents it will sometimes not print the last page.   It is almost as if the needs to be something at the end of the print job to push the last bit along to the printer and complete the print job.  It only started happening 3-4 months ago.  Now I have to check everything I print to make sure it is all there.  This printer is connected to my Mac Mini via USB.
If I send the same print jobs to the company network printer....everything prints fine.  (Kyocera - copier/printer/scanner/fax combo unit)
Here is some info on My system.
    Mac Mini 2.3 GHZ i5 / 4GB memory
    OS X 10.9.5
    Printer is HP Laserjet 1320
I have deleted and reinstalled the printer several times and no joy.

I've also had problems with the HP 1320 and my Mac. Some things print, while others just give a blinking green light and then it goes off. This recently happened to me while trying to print a series of labels from Word. Giving up on the HP, I decided to print the labels off my inkjet printer and placed a number a labels in the printer and hit print for 100 copies. Since I had being doing some other things in-between, I didn't notice that the print select had also gone to my default printer the HP. Suddenly, thinking the inkjet was to print the labels, the HP starts printing those labels. I then noticed that the HP was the printer selected, but I was at a loss to figure out why it suddenly had started to actually print the item that I was previously unable  to do. I finally determined that when I tried printing to the HP with the initial (1) copy it would not print; if I changed that number to (2) it would print one copy; if (3) I would get 2 copies; thus the print was giving exactly one less copy than I selected; thus when I select (1) copy it reads it as 0, will blink green and give me nothing. Give it a try.

  • Problems printing flash content

I'm having problems when trying to print a web page with flash content. Its a .NET system that has a Master Page and a graph generated in flash. When I print the page, only the Master Page's content appears. If I click on the print context menu, only the flash graph appears. What I need is both of them printed, Master Page and the graph.

This is a HUGE problem. It has been a problem for some time - several of the issues are marked as "resolved" but with no indication of how they were resolved or in which version they were resolved. In any event this is an old problem that has been made much worse by version 10.1. Previously I experienced the problem in all browsers except IE, so I always had the option of going to IE to print (clumsy but workable). Since Version 10.1, printing from IE doesn't work either - most browsers show a blank where the Flash content should be, while IE shows the content scaled to ~ 10% actual size.
Please don't advise me to go back to version 9 - the Flash Player version I use is pushed by my organization's IT dept. so I now have no work-around.

  • Photoshop all of the sudden printing a solid black "box"

    Hello!
I have a few users who use CS3 to do some marketing-work. Not quite sure what they exactly are doing, but they are using Photoshop, InDesign etc. at least.
Both computers are running XP SP3 with the newest updates for CS3.
Yesterday a problem started occuring, when they were printing. One of them opened two files, each about 50 MB - pressed "print" (as she always does) and instead of two pictures, like one would expect, out came one picture and one solid black box, where the picture was supposed to be.
The other one had 10 images open and same symptoms. First one printed nicely, the last 9 came out as black boxes. Keep in mind, that they have been doing this for quite some time now, without any problems what so ever.
My first thought was that the printer (HP Laserjet 5550) couldn't handle the big images, so I asked them to print on our Xerox Docucolor 240. Same problem! That leads me to believe, that there's a setting somewhere, they've activated - sorta like the one, that makes all text black.
If you need any additional info, please tell me :-) Also, I would be glad to scan one of the black boxes in for you, if you need to see it.
    Thank you in advance!
    Thomas

Thank you for your effort in explaining this in a more simple way hehe..
I have forwarded your suggestion to the users in question. I'm not sure, they will be able to test it today, since it's almost 2 PM here (and time for weekend). But as soon as I know whether or not it helped, I'll be sure to let you know.

  • All of a sudden I have problems printing web pages wwith Firefox 3.6.8 (XP), but printing pdf pages is still fine (printing with other software as well)

Suddenly I can't print web pages with Firefox 3.6.8 anymore, but pdf pages pose no problem - the same applies to printing with any other software

    Thanks edmeister for your trouble!
I guess I should have written that I had tried the tips on 'reset printer' and 'does not print to paper at all' before I posted the question - to no avail.
The printer starts as normal: it's the right printer selected, the dialogue window shows the progress of sending the data to the printer - and after that: that's it. It simply vanishes from the queue, and nothing happens.

  • Printer problem - prints blank pages

I have printer Brother DCP-357C (on Brother's website it says I have to use 353C drivers: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=60936 ).
I use CUPS, I've successfully printed test page, but it won't let me print anything other. I've tried to loading *.ppd file from driver .rpm, didn't worked.
It worked on my Arch before reinstall, same drivers.
    From CUPS error_log:

    run this in terminal
    wget http://www.brother.com/pub/bsc/linux/dlf/ink3_GPL_src_101-1.tar.gz
    tar -xvf wget ink3_GPL_src_101-1.tar.gz
cd into the directory that was unzipped. prob with
    cd ink*
There should be a README or INSTALL file inside. read it and it will explain the installation process. But some arch guru will hopefully post and explain how you can use makepkg I think its called to install this in pacman, which will enable you to uninstall it if it does not work.
I think its this link that tells you how to install a source tarbal with pacman

  • Problem:  printing a page as a file

every time i try and print a single page as a pdf
acrobat just makes a random file instead, which it then refuses to open.
even if i re label it as a .pdf file.
yet if i use foxit reader and print using the adobe pdf as the printer it works fine :D
any clues as to the problem
    im using acrobat 7.0 professional,
    winxp service pack 2
    cheers
also is there any way i can print off multiple pages that i can select
eg page 1,8,13,24,29 not just odd or even or all pages??
    cheers again

    > also is there any way i can print off multiple pages that i can select
eg page 1,8,13,24,29 not just odd or even or all pages??
Select the pages in the navigation panel 'Pages' and choose print.

  • Problem printing changed page background color

I have changed the page backgound colour in custom package and it shows the colour (green) on the monitor and in preview but the printer does not seem to recognise the colour - the background when printed is black.  I can trun off the colour and get a white background, but I would like a green background!!.
LR 3.5, Win7 and Epson SPR 1800.  Printer colour management off, correct profile used.
    Any help gratefully received.

The program creating the file is ReScan. I can print the file before I open with Acrobat. If I make any changes to the file, I am unable to print from Acrobat those pages which had changes made, even thou they show on the monitor fine. If I print to CutePDF Writer instead of directly to one of my three printers (I get the same result with all three different printers) then I can print the CutePDF Writer file.
The fonts I am editing are installed on my system. Not sure what I am doing wrong to cause the program not to print. Don't want to have to use CutePDF every time I need to print. The program should be able to print an edited and saved document.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • L7590 problem printing first page

When I print on my new L7590 AIO printer, the first page has problems (e.g., streaking or washed-out lines). Later pages do not exhibit this problem. The same thing occurs when I print self-diagnostic pages: the first page has problems, yet later printouts of the page do not. I've done a print-head alignment, printhead cleaning, and linefeed calibration to no avail, Has anyone else had a similar problem?

  • PRINT STATUS PAGE BLACK IS FINE COLORS NOT OUT OF PLACE CM1312NFI

    Hi my Name is Max
on color laserjet CM1312 nfi , the quality is bad when i print Supplies Status Page : the square looks good but the color Cyan Magenta and Yellow are out off the squar
and I change the transfer belt but still doing the same

Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull
the power cord from the printer then from the
wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to
wall and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power
up’ and restore the printer to a known good
condition (if it is possible). No user settings
are lost with a ‘hard reset’.
This ‘Hard Reset’ is one of the most powerful
tools to use when the printer hardware is not
    functioning properly!
if not resolved, uninstall hp software &
reinstall using latest  hp software from hp
    website.
Although I am working on behalf of HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • Problems printing html page created from servlet

    Hi
How do I go about to print a html page that spans outside the visible window (to the left). All I get when I print is the visible page.
    Is it at all possible?
    Would appreciate an answer.
    Thanks
    David Mossberg

    No, not impossible to do.
You need to provide a printer friendly version of the content so that it spans correctly.
Again, this is not a Java problem this is an Application problem.
How you format the data is down to you.
