Problem printing from cs6 photoshop to epson stylus pro 4800 printer

Has anyone had trouble printing from cs6 on a mac running lion to a epson stylus pro 4800 printer?   I keep getting an error message saying  "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.""   The computer sees the printer just fine and has the latest driver installed. I have removed it and reinstalled it many times . I need help with this.

Yes, the menu items are not unavailable. We were already aware of the "Reveal Arrow" issue under OSX v10.5.3. The most important print menu items such as "Print Settings" and "Color Management" are simply not present. As previously stated we've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest (v3.66) "Universal" print driver on both hosts and all of our client Macs. A resolution to this problem is very urgent as our semester begins this week and currently students can not print their next week assignments.

  • Epson Stylus Pro 4800 Printer Sharing Broken

We have 2 Epson 4800 printers, each attached via USB to it's own dedicated iMac (Intel OSX 10.5.3 w/ Epson SPR4800 Universal Driver v3.66). The iMacs have printer sharing turned on. The printers are shared across our ethernet LAN to approx 50 other Mac workstations. Over half of those are PPC G5 PowerMacs the rest are Intel MacPro's. All are running OSX 10.5.3 with the latest Epson 4800 Universal Driver v3.66.
Our problem is most of the printer control menu items are missing from the print window when client Macs attempt to print from Photoshop CS3 using Photoshop color management.
We've tried unstalling and reinstalling the lastest universal driver both on the host iMacs as well as the client PowerMac's and MacPro's. Any comments on why this happening and suggested remedies would be much appreciated.

  • Epson stylus pro 4800 prints very yellow prints

No combination of the settings in Print dialogue, or "Print Settings..." dialogue seem to generate anything other then a dramatically yellow cast image. Photoshop on the same computer, and all tests on the PCs print normally. Other people on this list have said they can print consistently between Photoshop, Aperture and the 4800.
So is there anyone here who has a 4800 that is working for you so that I can find out what the missing piece.
    Thanks

No combination of the settings in Print dialogue, or "Print Settings..." dialogue seem to generate anything other then a dramatically yellow cast image.
All other things being equal, a yellow cast could occur (1) if the gamut mapping in the ICC profile for the configuration of the printing system (hardware behaviour + inkset + paper) is compensating for a bluish tint in the paper, caused by optical brightener in the paper, by shifting the graybalance in the image towards yellow, and (2) if some other paper than the paper intended in the ICC profile were loaded. In this scenario, the compensation in the graybalance, which would appear neutral on the intended paper, now appears as a colour cast in the graybalance. Colour appearance, including graybalance compensation and softclipping in shadows (as opposed to colorimetric linear clipping) is part of the gamut mapping in the printing table, 0 Perceptual.

  • Photoshop CS6 on a Mac using an Epson Stylus PRO 3800 printer.

Installed Photoshop CS6 on a Mac Version 10.9.4. Installed an Epson Stylus PRO 3800 printer. When I try to print through Photoshop the dialogue box won't give the option to color manage. I followed the link suggested in the print dialogue box but that was for CS5 and said it will only work with TIFF files. I work with .psd files. I downloaded it but my Mac will not let me open it. Any help would be most appreciated. Mary Ellen

From Chris Cox: If you choose "Photoshop manages color", then Photoshop is managing the color and the printer driver is supposed to disable it's color controls (and let Photoshop manage the color).
If Photoshop is managing the color, then there is nothing else for the printer driver to do - so it grays out it's own color controls because they don't apply while Photoshop is managing the color.

  • Bonjour with Epson Stylus Pro 4800

I can't connect the Epson Stylus Pro 4800 with Bonjour.
Bonjour detects the Printer but after a few seconds there comes this message:
    Error: -9672

    Shame on me! :-O
Still... it seems the -9672 error is attributable to the Printer in all the cases I've found, but a very few have been able to cure it by downloading the Instaaller/Driver from the Manufacturer, rather than using the ones on the CD.

  • Epson Stylus pro 4800 on my iMac.

I am attempting to use my Epson Stylus Pro 4800 on my new iMac (OS X 10.7.3).  It is connected by USB. No luck.  I have installed the driver 14360.dmg however I am still unable to set up the printer.  When I go to add printer no fields are available and the printer is not listed?  Am I missing a step?  Do I need to add more software?  The disc that came with the printer says it includes drivers, not software.  Help.

The printer dialogue will only show printers connected (either physically or wirelessly) to your Mac.
There's got to be a simple answer to this as your Mac should find the printer. Epson has a Lion driver, so your printer should work.
Try a different USB cable and / or plug the printer into a different USB port on your Mac, then switch your printer on.

  • Problem with printing (Epson Stylus Pro 4800)

All of a sudden, my black and white photos are printing in sepia tone.  I have Photoshop CS3 and an Epson Sylus Pro 4800.  Interestingly, in the printer profile drop-down menu, it used to say "Pro 4800 PLPP".  Now it defaults to "Working RGB - sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1".  I suspect it has something to do with Color Settings... but I didn't change anything.  Please help!!!  Thank you in advance.

  • Epson Stylus Pro 4000 - Printing issues

I am having trouble printing from Photoshop to my Epson stylus pro 4000.  Specifically, I am not able to access choices other than plain paper, tracing paper and line paper for printing my images.  The following are some screen shots of what I see.  Does anyone out there know why this is happening and if there is some setting/compatibility issue.  I would really appreciate any insights and tips for a solution.  I noticed the problem when I started using CS5. I have also downloaded the most updated driver for the Epson and that didn't seem to do anything. Thanks!

I asume that you have updated the Epson printer driver via the Apple Updater? I had the same problem with my R1900. I suggest that you look at G Ballard's website. You will need to remove the Epson folder from your Library/Printer folder and from Print/Fax in System Preferences and re-install using the driver from the Epson Support webpage.

Having followed the above: my system is now working as it should.

  • Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer profiles N/A in Lightroom

I just set up a new Epson 3880 and installed the printer driver. I could see the various Epson paper .icc profiles were being installed. But when I went to print from Lightroom they were not available in the print module when I chose Printer Profile "Other..." But when I print from Photoshop I see the 3880 profiles. And I cannot find 3880 profiles on my hard disk in either the system or my user libraries. I hope someone can solve this! Ross

I have been through a lot of tries to solve this. But after extracting the files from the the file Pro3880.profiles, I discovered that file was in my system colorsync/profiles folder and upon repairing file permissions it was then available in Lightroom. So if you install a new 3880, look for a file of this name and if it's in your system colorsync/profiles folder and Lightroom doesn't see it, just reapir file permissions.

  • Printing from Elements 8 using Epson Stylus Photo R300

Help!  I'm really quite useless at all this computer stuff, and my problem is slowly driving me mad!!!  I am trying, unsuccessfully, to print from Elements 8 using an Espon Stylus Photo R300.  However, I dont know what settings to use.  I can get prints - but they dont represent what I see on the monitor.  I have tried using Picasa and the representation on the print isnt too far removed from that on the monitor.  iPhoto is slightly worse.  Can anyone tell me in simple english what settings I need to use - I have seen other discussions on the same topic and think that color management should be done by the Elements 8 and not the printer?  Any help would be very much appreciated - before I lose it all together

Hi Syd.   I was out on the web and saw where you respond to a message about printing using R300 printer. If you can help me that would be great.. this is the message that I sent Jayne who was having a problem..
    Hi Jayne,
Did you get you problem resolved.   I am experiencing the same problem with with element 8 and Epson r300 printer.  I tried both support groups Adobe wanted me to upgrade to element 9. and Epson gave me the phone running.  I have taking the printer to a Epson service center and the printer is working fine. I have change the various options in the software and no sucess.   I  had one image that I only crop and it the colors came out wrong.  Now if I don't touch the image and just print it the colors come out fine.. So please let me know if you got it resolved.

  • Epson Stylus Pro 3800 - Prints too dark.

I had a Hewlett - Packard pigment ink printer and until it bit the dust, it printed very accurate, beautiful and to the display prints. I have a cheap Canon printer that puts out prints that can match the display too. I just purchased a new Epson Stylus 3800 printer and my prints are much too dark, too much contrast and ever so slightly posterized.
I am using Photoshop CS2. I have checked and I believe the drivers on my printer are current. I have tried letting the printer determine colors as well as letting Photoshop determine colors and turning off the printer controls in the print setting dialogue. The prints are OK - ish, but just not what's on screen and not what I want them to be. My screen is calibrated well enough. It is not paramount that my prints be totally and completely like the display but close.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you one and all for all of this valuable advice. I have a professional coming in to tutor me. I know I can love this printer and want it to work for me as it works for some of you.
Ralph: The 3800 IS set as my default printer. I think I have the most recent drivers but am not positive because I can't find the driver folder to check the version. I know . . . . please bear with me, I try very hard. I have crashed three computers (crashed to the point of needing to be reformatted) and have learned the hard way, be careful when you download.
I used the in house (display calibration device) to calibrate my monitor. I feel it will do well enough for what I want to accomplish. The white point is set at 6000 and I set the tgarget gamma at 2.2 because I found the Mac Standard 1.8 made the display too bright.
My step by step printing settings are pretty basic: I use the embedded profile on one it is sRGBIEC61966-2.1 and on the other it is Duotone. Print With Preview, Let Photoshop Determine Colors, Black Point Compensation checked, and Rendering Intent set to Relative Colormetric. In the Printer Profile: I use the profile I downloaded from the paper's site OR an Epson profile. In the printer driver dialogue I make sure the 3800 is the chosen. Printer Color Management: I check the radio button for Off (No Color Adjustment) In the Print Settings dialogue (I have tried many with the same results.) The closest I came to what I wanted is when I used the front manuel feeder setting, with Velvet Fine Art Paper and checked Advanced Setting, Superfine - 2880 dpi and unchecked High Speed.
For the Let Printer Determine Colors I used Relative Colormetric. In the Printer Color Management I checked Color Controls. In Print Settings I used the same as above, Velvet Fine, Advanced and 2880dpi with High Speed off. The results were similar to the Photoshop settings but both were still too dark with very faint posterization in the gradients.
I have tried many combinations and I always go back to be sure, if I am letting Photoshop do the colors, to check and see if Off (No Color Adjustment) is still checked.
Jeff: Again to all and to you Jeff, thank you for your input. I AM trying but it's difficult. Around here there aren't many with the kind of expertise you have and so I have tried to learn this on my own. All I want to do is print my things. Just get the printer to do my things . . . . one good print at a time.
Sorry this is so long. I am going to get booted now. My server is going off-line to do upgrades. I am receiving my internet through low frequency microwaves and the little start up wants to make it better.
Thank you all for this helpful advice. I will now try to digest it.
    Mary Ellen
If anyone knows were I can find the driver folder (exactly) I will look for it. When I open the Epson Utility it says Epson Printer Utility2 3.57 . . . . when I go to the Epson download site it says the version of the driver offered is 3.57 and so I think that I've got the right version.

  • Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printing problem

I have run the software update today and my iMac shows 10.6.2 now. After the upgrade my Epson printer stopped working. I was still printing photos yesterday before the software update. I got this message:
    Library not loaded: /Library/Printers/EPSON/CIOSupport/CIOSupport.framework/Versions/A/CIOSupport
    Referenced from: /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter/Filter/rastertoescp.app/Contents/MacOS/ra stertoescp
    Reason: image not found
I have already uninstalled the printer drive software, delete the printer in system references, rebooted the computer. Then I installed the printer driver from scratch and added the printer in system references but still not working. Please advise.
    Thank,
    Edmond.

I have a 24" iMac connected to a USB hub and an AT&T 2-Wire DSL/ethernet hub. When I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and now the update 10.6.2, the two printers on the USB hub work fine but the HP Laserjet 4100dtn does not print. This old printer has only ethernet or serial ports. I've downloaded and installed the HP driver updates from Apple and HP to no avail. According to HP, I must add the 4100 manually using its IP. I've followed the instructions while adding a printer to select IP- HP Jetdirect - Socket. The address of the printer is 10.0.1.100. When I type this in, the window says that this is a valid and complete address. It searches and then says the "Print Using:" is a Generic PostScript Printer. The driver for this printer, I believe, should be "HP LaserJet 4100 Series v.3010.107" Regardless, when I click Add the window "Determining Installable Options" shows "Status: Connecting to printer..." It never establishes a connection.
The 2-Wire DSL/Ethernet Hub/Modem, has an IP of 192.1687.1.66, Submask 255.255.255.0 and Router (DNS) 192.168.1.254.
If I plug the ethernet cable directly from the printer to the iMac, the supply level shows correctly but will not print. If I plug the ethernet cable from the printer to the 2-Wire and then to the iMac, it neither shows supply level nor prints.
Any suggestion as to how to fix this problem? (I've been on the phone with 3 different Apple respresentatives and 1 HP representative with no success.)
