Problem putting files on my ipod....
I keep getting this message when I try to upload to my IPod:
"Attempting to copy to the disk "my ipo" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."
It happens every so often but doesn't stop me from uploading completely. It just breaks in at random times and stops me for a while. What do I do to fix this?
See this troubleshooting article.

I've recently installed CS4 on my computer (new computer also. I was using DW MX on a different computer before, and it worked fine). Now I can't seem to Put files to my sites. The pages are uploading and saving fine. I'm accessing the servers OK. But when I save the file, it doesn't include the dependent files. And, when I go to manually put the files, the bottom of the Files window says 'File activity complete', but the files aren't moved.
Do I have a setting wrong somewhere?function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
But when I save the file, it doesn't include the dependent files.
Edit > Preferences > Site.
There are two options for putting and getting dependent files. Check them. -
I want to put some files from a friends Mac onto my iPod. If I connect my iPod to his Mac, put it into disk mode, does the iPod need to register with that computer? Would I need to put it in disk mode before I connect to his Mac? Would it make a difference? Does the iPod stay in disk mode until you change the setting back in iTunes?
You need to put it in disk mode before connecting to his mac. You do not need to register it with that computer if it is already in disk mode. The ipod will stay in disk mode until you turn that feature off in itunes.

Please help me!! problems putting songs in my ipod
ok, i just bought the ipod video and am having troubles with putting songs into it.
i know when u connect the ipod to ur computer, it automatically syncs all the songs u have in ur library to ur ipod.
so i took mine to one of my friends house and updated my ipod with his computer. so now i have 1016 good songs. but i can't update it with my computer now because i don't have the songs (that are in my ipod) in my computer.
so if i updated my ipod w/ mine, it'd delete the songs i got from my friends house.
so now, i have to go over to his house everytime i wanna update my ipod, and trust me it's pain in my little toush
so please tell me if there is anyway for my to tranport the songs FROM my ipod TO my computer or just update it with my computer without erasing the previous songs.
thank you
Dell Windows XP"so if i updated my ipod w/ mine, it'd delete the songs i got from my friends house."
Correct. Apple made it this way to help prevent illegal file sharing of copyrighted material. -
I have had my ipod for a while now but I have not been able to get notes onto my ipod. I have a windows pc. I enabled disk use but I can't seem to get further than that. "Windows Explorer" If I find this then I will find my ipod icon. I don't have an ipod icon in that file. I just don't know what to do next. Can someone help me?
Looks as if you have an iPod shuffle. You will probably get a better response to your question if you post in the appropriate forum. Here's a link.

Putting files on iPod after enabling for disk use. How to?
I enabled my Nano for disk use, but don't know how to put files on it. An answer on how to ut files onto the iPod after it is enable to be a hard drive would be great.
Thanks,
MartinHi Martin,
I am not sure about how to put files with a PC, but with a Mac, I believe I can help. To put files on your iPod, your iPod should appear in Finder as a external disk drive. All you need to do is to drag the file into the iPod icon, as you would with an external hard drive. Syncing your Contacts (Address Book) or Calendar (iCal) is a little different. To sync Contacts and Calendar with your computer, Knowledge Base Document #301374 for Mac OS X and Knowledge Base Document #302270 for Windows. I had a hard time with syncing contacts and calendar with windows, because there are two different links.

Putting songs onto my iPod, but when I go to play them, they aren't there.
Recently I've been having problems putting songs onto my iPod Touch. I'll put the songs onto my iPod through iTunes, and it shows that they are on my iPod and everything is legit, but when I leave and go to play them on my iPod, the songs aren't there and nowhere to be found. When I plug my iPod back into iTunes and view all of my music, it shows that the songs are on my iPod, however, when I double-click them, and exclamation mark pops up beside the name and they don't play. This doesn't happen with every song I put on, just select ones, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
For what seems like no reason, all of a sudden i can no
longer put files. i don't get an error message but it doesn't go
through the background file activity either. i have no problem
putting files through cyberduck. also, once i delete the site and
re-add it, it works fine. any ideas? also, when i test remote
access it says that i connected successfully.
weird huh?Hi,
>I'd suggest ftp - just set up ftp connection to the www root folder and put the file there
download any ftp server and install it on the same machine
as your WWW server
then create access from it to your www root folder
then with XI you can use FTP adapter to put any file into that location
that's all I guess

I have a new laptop so I download again iTunes...the problem here is that I just got a cd and I tried to put it on my iPod and it won't let me, how can I fix this?
The iPod sees the new computer as a new iTunes library. You can only sync with one iTunes library. However, you can manage music among disfferent computers. See:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers -
So recently I synced my iPod Classic 160 GB like I did so many times and when I wanted to play some music afterwards it couldn’t find any files on the iPod anymore. However when you look in the settings it displays that ~roughly 90 GB free space is available. Seen the fact that I had about 60 gigs of music this doesn’t seem like a coincidence and I think my music is still somewhere on the ipod but the HDD isn’t recognizing it anymore.
I’ve tried resetting it, and resetting it to factory settings, which didn’t work. When connected to a desktop it won’t be recognized by iTunes, it displays an error message that the iPod cannot be read and that I have to reset it to factory settings.
I’ve spent some time researching this problem yesterday and I ran into a myriad of vaguely similar problems didn’t really offer any help. Currently I’m thinking that formatting the iPod might work, and restoring the software afterwards. However this is a rather bold strategy so I’d like to consult you here first.
Thanks in advance!Hi turingtest2,
Thank you for the info, with formatting my iPod I managed to connect it to iTunes again.
However..in the page you linked to there is a section about how transferring large amounts of data can dump your library. That seems to be the problem in this case. It won't even allow me to transfer more than 2 gigabytes of music per sync, if I go higher it will dump everything again. Having over >60 GB of music in my library, this is disastrous to say the least.
Do you think that there is any other solution besides the method you mentioned involving Smart Playlists? -
i'm getting a 9041 error when trying to convert files to AAC -- any ideas on how to fix it? the files files in iTunes show up as Apple Lossless but i can't put them on my iPod
"I have been able to convert to AAC by first converting to AIFF and then to AAC. This is a pan though."
this worked for me.
thanks. -
. Can pictures get on your icloud other ways? Can something be put on there by someone other than yourself, liked public wifi or hacked? Got a big problem with some **** on an iPod and I am to knowledgeble about the ipod...thanks
You're not confusing this with a shared Photo Stream...?
Because the short answer is no, photos don't appear unless they were put there by someone with your Apple ID credentials. To rule out that possibility, change your Apple ID password by carefully following all these instructions:
iCloud: Change your iCloud account password
If you decide to change your password, and you also want to change your Apple ID, I recommend you do not concurrently change your Apple ID until sufficient time has passed and you are confident the password change has been effected on all your iOS devices. 24 hours ought to be more than enough.
It is not necessary to change your Apple ID unless it is an email address you no longer wish to use. -
Hi, HOW DO YOU PUT ALL MUSIC FROM IPOD BACK ONTO A PREVIOUSLY CRASHED COMPUTER IN WHIHC ALL MUSIC FILES WERE UNABLE TO BE RESTORED.
My computer crashed a few months ago and my IT guys were not able to restore my music files.. at least I can't find them. When I log into Itunes, all of my music and play lists appear but when I click to play a song in Itunes on computer, it says the files can not be found. My Ipod obviously has all of my music but I'd like to add more (without deleting what I've got on there) and to copy back whats on my Ipod back to my computer. If I plug together and my computer sync then I will loose all music... needing detailed instructions please.from what i understand, the procecess is similar on both mac and pc, so i'll try help you here. have you set your preferences to "automatically update all"?
Yes i have.
if this isn't working, maybe try moving one that you are certain is in the correct format, manually. import it from scratch to your itunes, and then copy it to the ipod.
If i click 'import files' the only files it comes up with are text file. Should it be doing this?' So the only files i can import are written documents :/
If i select 'add files' it dosnt add them to my libary at all.
I tryed what you said, i deleted my movies then loaded one into my libary which i no is in the right format but it still said that it is unable to put into my ipod.
Thanks for trying to help by the way :] -
How do I delete files on my iPod second gen? This is a NEW problem I have only had with the latest version of iTunes. I have not changed libraries. All files are grayed out. I have already read related posts in the iTunes community.
Thanks but I had already read this, and it was no help at all. Under the Summary tab, "Options", there is no check-box to manually manage my stuff. I suspect this is because it is a 2nd gen iPod, with ONLY manual management. The only way to delete my stuff seems to be to reset the entire device.
I like to listen to podcasts. What is particularly frustrating is that the 4th gen shuffle CANNOT play podcasts, but ONLY music, which I discovered after a lot of research and multiple visits to an Apple store. So I have to resort to an older version of the shuffle to play podcasts And now with the latest version of iTunes there seems to be no way to delete any podcasts on the older version. Apple just makes it harder and harder for us podcast-lovers, driving us away from Apple -- driving me away from the entire brand and from ALL Apple devices, not just iPod. -
Problem with putting music onto my iPod
Hi,
Recently I,ve been having problems with putting music on my iPod. Anytime I click to sync my iPod so I can put new songs onto it the songs never show up. Plus all the playlists in the playlist section on my iPod are all repeated over and over again(theres more than one). Theres no problem with my USB ports as I,ve tested them with other MP3 players and theres also nothing wrong with my cable as it shows up on my PC as connected. I,ve also resetted it! I just don't understand whats wrong with it I also have it fully charged when I'm trying to put the songs onto it.
Can anyone help please?!!!" Anytime I click to sync my iPod so I can put new songs onto it the songs never show up."
This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.
