Problem ransferring contacts to 5800XM via PC suit...

I am having problem transferring my contacts from Outlook 2003 contacts file to my new 5800 via PC Suite. My computer is runnung Windows 2000.
I have tried importing the file into PC Suite as .txt and as .csv but get the message that file is in the wrong format.
Can anyone outline the correct procedure or point out where I might be going wrong?
Thanks!

Outlook contacts can not be copied to PC Suite as csv or txt file.
You can try Nokia PC Sync to sync the conacts of Outlook to the new phone. (The middle icon of the first row in PC Suite panel.)
There's a chapter on "Synchornise" in the help.
What's the law of the jungle?

  • Contacts not shown in messages sent via PC Suite

    Hi all,
    OS : Windows XP SP2
    Connectivity : USB CA 101
    Handset : Nokia N 82
    Handset details : V 30.0.019
    RM-313
Issue : If i send any message from my phone, in sent folder the contact person's name will display whereas for the messages sent via pc suite's communication centre, in sent folders only numbers are displayed despite the contacts are stored in the phone, same contacts' name will displayed if a message is sent via phone??? Is it an issue? Known bug from PC Suite ???

there may be differencies between phone models here (S60 devices or S40 devices, you have S40). Also if I recall right, it used to be so that some older versions of PC Suite did not save the PC sent sms's to phone.
However, with my N95 the messages are saved. So make sure you have the latest Pc Suite and then try again. If it fails, then it might be that message saving is not supported with S40 phones (Anyone having a S40 phone could verify this)

  • Syncing Nokia X-6 via Ovi Suite [2.x], to Outlook,...

    Salutations,
I'm new here, so I hope that I'm in good section. I have following problem. My mum has nokia X-6 and I bought her Nokia Lumia 800 and Samsung Omnia 7. When I want to move my Nokia X-6 contacts to Nokia Lumia 800, or Samsung Omnia 7 I get following errors:
    • I tried to export contacts to CSV via phone [X6], when imported I got contacts where 80% lack phone numbers
    • I tried to export contacts via PC Suite [X6], when imported to Outlook, Windows Contacts or Gmail, I got contacts where 80% lack phone numbers
    • I tried to export contacts via Nokia Ovi Suite [X6], when imported to Outlook, Windows Contacts or Gmail, I got contacts where 80% lack phone numbers
I tried to import contacts through Ovi suite directly, export to all forms of CSVs, and all syntaxes, I never succeeded.
Do You have any clue, how I might import nokia X6 contacts to Nokia Lumia 800 and Samsung Omnia 7?
    Thank You for any reply,
    Regards
    Bryan

    Hi Lexicanum,
Do you see all your contacts on CSV file when you export them?
If all the contacts are exported correctly to the CSV file, then it is upto the 3rd party software, how it treats the generated CSV file (It could be that the generated CSV file is not read correctly by the 3rd party software).
If not all the contacts are exported to CSV file by using Nokia Suite, then you can submit the error report using this link http://tiny.cc/ja40z
    Thanks,
    Best regards,

  • Connecting to the internet via PC Suite / N95 8GB ...

I'm struggling to connect to the internet via PC Suite (v7.1.30.9), using Vista Ultimate SP2, repeatedly getting the error "Failed to connect to the network! One touch access could not connect to the selected device". I've tried different cables, checked for PC Suite updates, updated the phone's software, etc, but all to no avail. (I am able to connect immediately using my N80, so the problem seems to be on the N95 8GB). The rest of the PC Suite connection seems fine. Can anyone help me?

I found a situation where your error message appears. It is the case when the nokia is connected using the data transfer mode and simultaneously the OneTouch Application is started. Then the device is not recognized by the modem software. The PC Suite mode is required for the OneTouch Application.
In my situation I think I already saw all of the possible error messages described in the documentation during the various experiments.
For example I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cable drivers. Unfortunately the driver page of N95 8GB does not include them only the page of N95. This was a step towards success - what concerns the OneTouch Application.
Sometimes it is useful to switch off and on the phone, specially when it is not possible to connect with the modem driver.
In my opinion the possibility of completly uninstalling the Nokia Suite is missing. You can uninstall all parts but after reinstallation the Nokia Phone Browser is no more available, the icon is not displayed. All the software packages are working fine even the modem drivers but not the Phone Browser.

  • Problems installing contacts to Nokia N8 using Nok...

    Hi everyone
I cannot for the life of me get my contacts list which I backed up from my Nokai N82 onto my Nokia N8-00.
The file is a straight forward .nbu file, which I have tried to upload through Nokia suite, directly to the phones harddrive, and SD card.  I've also converted the whole thing to one single .vcf file, and each contact individually.  In the suite, it opens the fie and shows all the contacts, yet when I try to "restore", it seems to be transferring, but then when I check the phones address book, it is empty.
    Many thanks

If the contacts are getting displayed in the Nokia Suite, what you can try is connect the phone to PC..Open Nokia Suite-->Contacts and select all contacts..Then Drag-and-Drop them to the 'Contacts' folder at the bottom next to the Phone icon...
If you still face some problem, do not select all at once but select in batches of say 20-25 contacts and try the same ...

  • Error writing to temporary file location. If this problem persists contact customer support. (-70)

I've been trying to update/install Creative Cloud applications via Adobe Application Manager and no matter which application I try to install I receive this error: "Error writing to temporary file location. If this problem persists contact customer support. (-70)"
Prior to this I was having trouble running updates to an application, and it told me I needed "Administrative Privleges" to do so. I have tried everything I can think of with the assistance of the Apple Store. Can anyone at Adobe help me?

You do not have the permission on the TMP folder for write because of which you are facing the issue.
Tmp folder is hidden on the Mac hence you have to unhide it first to check the permission and getting it corrected.
I would recommend you to check the install/update from
    1) New user account
    2) Run the Disk repair utitlity
if these steps doesn't help then contact support to get the permission corrected.

  • Can't update nokia e72 via ovi suite

So there is "maps data update application" on available updates list. I connect my device via USB, push the "next" button on the updates screen and it says that my sim card is missing when its not. It also says "please change the USB mode on your device to PC suite mode" on the bottom left corner, where the phone pic is, but im already using PC suite mode. Restarted the phone, made sure I'm using General profile - nothing helps. Any ideas whats wrong?

well i have updated my maps and my maps data via ovi suite numerous times, ovi suite is pcsuite+NSU+Maps updater+map loader, its an all in one and if you are using an updated version of maps, it will show you a prompt to update in the software update tab, so basically it does update ur maps version too but in this case i don't really know what the problem is, might be an OS conflict or might be a firmware error too. I recommend that you run ovi suite using adminstrator privileges on vista/7,right click on the program icon and then selct run as adminstrator, diable any antivirus program that you are using and ten try updating using ovi suite. If this doesnt work then please soft reset ur phone using the phone *#7370#, this should fix most firmware glitches, please backup all data on phone memory before performing a soft reset, these steps should fix all problems that you've mentioned.

You can contact iTunes Support via this page :

    - click on the Contact Support at the bottom of the left-hand column
    - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
    - then select the category for what you want to contact them about
If the problem is related to account security then your will probably need to contact them via phone as they will need to confirm your id and that it's your account : Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

  • Can't connect to internet via Nokia Suite 3.7

Situation: Win8 pro 64bit Nokia N9 64gb Nokia Suite 3.7 (downgraded to 3.6.36 which still works right) When trying to create internet connection using latest version (3.7) of Nokia Suite, it will say there's problem with configuration or "modem is already in use". With older version (3.6.36) internet-connection is working as it should. Please fix that to your next release

    Hi overo,
    Welcome to the forum!
Is the OS of your Windows XP PC updated? It's advisable to keep both PC and phone's software up-to-date. Try also to repair Nokia Suite to isolate the issue. Just click the PC's start button, and then go to All Programs > Control Panel > Installed applications. Select Nokia Suite, and then choose Uninstall / Change > Repair. After this step, try to share our phone's connection to your PC and see if it'll work. Make sure that Nokia Suite mode is selected in your Asha 311 when sharing the internet connection to your PC via Nokia Suite.
Let us know how it will go.

  • Cannot update contacts from within the pc suite

so, i've installed the latest version of pc suite but that didn't work, i've deleted it and run the pc suite cleaner, deleted the sms app from the phone and reinstalled everything. i can sync with outlook (set to sync in one way from phone to outlook) without a problem but i want to add extra info to the contacts in the phone. i have clicked on the contacts icon in the pc suite and all my (old)contacts are listed, when i click update, i get the update window appear with the blue and green dots but it just runs for ages before another window opens and says:Warnings

The Synchronisation has been Terminated! PC Sync could not update the data to the mobile phone.

I have no answer, just to say that I have had this problem for some time. I will dispose of my 9300 as soon as I have found a way out and go to a Msoft Mobile platform.
Club Nokia deny that there is a problem with the Software and sy that I should return the 'phone. Of course my retailer does not provide an equivalent 'phone so that is no good (as I run my business from my 'phone).
It may take a number of weeks (indeterminate) for Nokia to update the software on the phone. (Most Nokia service centres are unable to do this so by some wierd process I pack the phone and arrange at my expense to send it to their central service organisation. Whatever happend to the customer here?)
It's clear from a trawl of the internet that this is a serious problem, as a long time Communicator user (since the first 9000) I am very disappointed with Nokia's lack of support on this problem and would suggest that you don't waste your time trying to solve it.

  • Can't transfer files via PC Suite: Windows Explore...

Has anyone else had this problem?
Nokia E61 (3.0633.09.04) via USB cable
    Windows XP SP2 + latest patches/updates
    PC Suite 3.82.22.0
I can connect and see the phone and install software via PC Suite, but I cannot transfer. It will start to transfer the file and then I get a Windows system error dialogue box asking if I want to send the error to Microsoft or not. :-(
This used to work on my phone. But then my computer crashed and I had to reinstall it. Now it's pretty much the same machine but PC Suite won't transfer files.
    Help?
    Thanks!

  • Req: My folders access via PC suite

Can Nokia please add access to the "my folders" folder via PC Suite for the N80 as it is for other phones.
    Thanks
    AD

When you open the contacts in PC Suite, it actually open an extended Windows Explorer view and in that window, when you have the contacts folder highlighted, if you press F5 it should update the list of contacts visible. Also there is a small button with phone and arrow, if you press that, it updtes the list.
I did not quite get the comment about editing contacts without resyncing, pressing the F5 actually causes a sync between the phone and PC view and if you then open a contact and edit, when oyu press save, again it resyncs the editied contact to phone.
Unless you save the contact to your PC somewhere, but then obiviously the cahges are not in your phone.
