Problem reading dng files into Photoshop CS6
Why can't I read dng files from a canon 5dmk2 from ACR8.1 into Photoshop cs6?
I converted the CR2 files from the Canon5dmk2 into dng using the Adobe DNG converter.
In Photoshop CS3 I can read these dng files into Adobe Camera Raw and then export them into Photoshop. No problem.
I have just installed Photoshop CS6. I can read the dng files into Adobe Camera Raw (v8.1) without a problem. However the file is then corrupted when I try to export it into CS6.
Strangely, I have similar files converted from CR2 to DNG for a Canon 1100D and these read without problem via ACR into both Photoshop CS3 and CS6.
The problem is that Photoshop CS6 will not read dng files from a Canon 5dmk2.

Problem importing .mov file into Photoshop CS6
I recently bought a canon 600D and I am trying to edit a 1080p video in photoshop CS6, however whenever it won't let me import the video. When I try to open it via File>open, it tells me 'Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file.' and when I try to drag and drop it it tells me 'Could not place the document ‘MVI_0710.MOV’ because no parser or file format can open the file.'
I'm not a professional at all so I could be missing something very basic! Any help would be greatly appreciated.What system are you on? Which PS version? 32bit or 64 bit? Sounds like the required qtserver/ dynamiclink stuff is not running and you are using the 64bit version.

MISALIGNMENT PROBLEMS USING "LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS" FROM BRIDGE CC
I'm having a persistent problem which technical support was unable to resolve after being on the phone with them for 1.5 hrs. I was told the issue would be escalated... That was five days ago, and I've heard nothing.
Here is the problem: In ACR working on a bracketed group of five images shot from a solid tripod in Bridge CC. I carefully synchronize all parameters incl. crop, transform, exposure, etc. Then I go to Tools / Photoshop / Load files into Photoshop layers, and the images open in photoshop in a layered file..., BUT some are knocked out of alignment. Actually they have been cropped slightly smaller than the original file, always by the same number of pixels. Sometimes all layers are affected, sometimes not.
Photoshop CC & Bridge CC are both up to date, as is the camera raw plugin. I’m on a new iMac i7 4-core, OSX 10.9.4. All software was newly downloaded from Adobe two weeks ago. I have reset preferences, reset tools in Photoshop, even uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge CC 6.1.0.115 all to no avail. Any suggestions? I am desperate for some help.I run Windows 7 Ultimate, I have 2.00GB of RAM with 1.74 usable, and I selected 40 images, each about 2MB.

Problem loading .orf files into photoshop
I have CC on both an iMac and a MacBook Pro
.orf files will load into photoshop on the iMac but not on the MacBook Pro. A popup appears which states need to update for latest RAW files. I have run and installed the latest update but without success. Since updating I've tried switching off and back on but with no success.
What do I do next?Thanks partial success
ACR was 8.3. I've uploaded version 8.6 using the link provided and now able to read files into photoshop but
1. Mini bridge does not show thumbnails only a place holder with no image
2. The version on the iMac is 8.4 which I will also update but on both computers clicking on product update on Apple menu did not show the latest ACR update. How can I arrange for auto updates without continually checking using the above link whether an update is available. -
Problems opening video files in Photoshop CS6
I appear to be unable to open any kind of video file in Photoshop CS6, I always get the error message "could not complete your request because it is not the right type of document".
I have noticed, however, that a couple of things seem to be different from all the video tutorials that are out there, e.g:
1. The Timeline dosen't seem to give me the option to open a file from it and appears to be a timeline for animation only (see image below)
2. The Mini Bridge dosen't show the movie files, e.g. on my desktop I have three different movie files (AVI, MP4 & MOV) and as you can see none appear (see image below)Thanks for your reply Pete.
When I have a picture open the Timeline dosen't seem to have the "convert to video timeline" button you mentioned (see image below)

Problems pulling RAW files into Photoshop.
I use Photoshop CS3. When I pull my RAW files into it I lose a lot of information. For example I took a picture of my black dog. I set the camera (Canon 40d) to save the file and both RAW and high res JPG. When I pull both files directly into photoshop the JPG has more detail information in the highlights and shadows than the JPG file does. This should be the reverse. To see if the problem was in the file or in the process of pulling it into photoshop I also pulled it in through Lightroom. And I used Zoom Browser (software that came with my camera). Zoom Browser forced me to convert to a TIFF before importing it to Photoshop. I'll try attaching a file I made that shows the results of each.
My conclusion is that there is not a problem with the CR2 file, since the CR2 file converted to the TIFF has the most detail, but something is happening when I import it into photoshop. I just don't know what settings I should be looking at to fix this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Without wishing to dodge the isssue, I suggest you take it to the ACR forum where the real experts on that aspect of Photoshop are.

Problem reading .txt-file into JTable
My problem is that I�m reading a .txt-file into a J-Table. It all goes okay, the FileChooser opens and the application reads the selected file (line). But then I get a Null Pointer Exception and the JTable does not get updated with the text from the file.

Bridge Problem opening files in Photoshop CS6
CS6 Bridge appears to work fine, however when I try to open a file into Photoshop CS6 I get a flag saying it cannot find Photoshop CS4? Any ideas?

You can open Bridge and change the file associations in Edit>File Type Associations to change to PS CS6. That is the easiest way. Another way would be to open Control Panel>Programs>Default Programs to change the file association for .jpeg, .psd., .tif, et cetera.
For your info, and others, this does not work in situations were the file associations become corrupted by uninstalling a previous version. The mechanism for corruption is not quite clear to Adobe, but somehow the registry for file associations gets reset to the version that was deleted. Since the normal methods of changing file associations, that you mention, do not affect the registry file in question, the problem still remains. Therefore one needs to wipe files with the Adobe Script Cleaner or go in and change the registry. -
Unable to see DNG files in Photoshop CS2

I am using Photoshop CS2 in Windows XP Pro and have *.CR2 pictures taken with Canon EOS 40D.
I downloaded Camera_Raw_3.7.zip and extracted Camera Raw.8bi to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS2\File Formats
I downloaded Adobe DNG Converter ver. 4.3.1 and converted the Canon CR2 files to DNG files.
I can see the pictures in Adobe Bridge CS2 1.0.4.6 fine.
However, when I open Adobe Photoshop CS2 and try File/open, the drop down does not show any selection for DNG files. If I try to physically drag a file into Photoshop, I get the message that the extension is not supported.
Upon opening Help/About Plug-In, I do not see Camera raw anywhere in the long list.
What do I need to do to bring DNG files into Photoshop?
Thanks.If you don't see Camera Raw in the list it usually means that it is not in the correct folder or the it might be damaged.
It looks like you listed the correct folder at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS2\File Formats
When you navigate to that folder do you see Camera Raw.8bi listed? It might only say Camera Raw, depending on how you have Windows set up.
Did you restart Photoshop after putting the filter into the File Formats folder? -
"Load files into Photoshop layers" fails to complete CS6
Hi all,
Hoping someone can help with the folling problem with Photoshop & Bridge CS6
When in Bridge, after selecting 6 images (CR2) using the command TOOLS>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS the first file will load into Photoshop, Photoshop will then generate a second blank layer and then read the second file. At this point the "script" will stop. I am left with a document with 2 layers. The top layer has my first image, the bottom layer is empty.
At this point when I quit Photoshop I am prompted to save this open document which appears to be the only open document. I choose not to save this as a file. I then get a dialogue box prompting to save another open document. Photoshop has loaded the second file to place as a layer but as the "script" has aborted I am left with an open, but invisible file.
When I first loaded CS6 on Snow Leopard, it would demonstrate this behaviour every time I attempted to run this command from Bridge.
I did a clean install on a blank HDD of OSX Lion. Installed CS6. The command worked without fail for about a month.
Then I would get the command aborting occasionally. Restarting Photoshop would let me continue for a few hours before this aborted script problem would happen again.
Over the last week it has become more frequent, to a point where this workflow is unusable.
A restart of Photoshop may fix the problem for the next batch of images, only to fail again soon after, or fail on the first attempt after a relaunch of Photoshop.
A reboot of my computer will allow my to load one or two sets of files before again failing to complete the command.
I have tried the following:
In Photoshop preferences:
disabling the "Use graphics Processor"
Increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM available to Photoshop
Changing the cache levels or changing the cache tile size
changing the scratch disk
Trashing the Photoshop preferences file (Photoshop Settings.psp)
In Bridge
Purging the cache
Increasing or decreasing the cache size
Resetting Bridge preferences (holding Command on launch) and deleting all cache files.
In general system
Quitting extra programs (Safari, Thunderbird, iTunes)
Sometimes this will seem to then allow Photoshop to load a full set of images, only to abort again after a few sets.
Rebooting the computer - again will work for a few images sets before again failing.
Now the fact that it worked fine for several weeks without presenting a problem would indicate that it is not a bug.
The fact that is slowly started happening then became more frequent would indicate something changing slowly over time - a larger cache folder perhaps, although purging known Bridge cache folders has not filed the problem.
Really at the end of my tether here. Even considering downgrading to CS5 - but don't want to have to use the older Adobe Camera Raw.
System is as follows:
Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 Quad Core
24GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512
OSX Lion 10.7.4
I have seen a couple of others have posted having a the same problem, both with CS5 and CS6.

Thanks.Hi JJMack - I just re-read your post. For some reason I thought you were suggesting to make sure "Open documents in Tabs" was selected, it was. Now I realize you were suggesting to turn it off! As another attemp to solve this problem I did de-select it today. Seemed to work for a good while. I was getting very excited, then, on the last set of images I had to do it displayed the same problem. But, it did go for quite a while without failing, and when it did I was thrashing about trying to make another app active. When loading documents like this - with "Open documents in Tabs" de-selected, Photoshop wants to put the loading images as the front-most window, no matter what other apps (Bridge, email, web etc) I click on in the dock. I think it is related to the bug you described effecting the "load files to stack" command.
Hopefully Adobe is looking at this - mind you, I have read reports of people having this problem in CS5! Looks like that was never resolved sadly.
I'll keep testing and post back.
I am looking to upgrade my video card to see if it's a video memory thing.
What is very weird though is the fact that this problem didn't present itself until after several weeks of working with this command with no problem. No additional apps installed, nothing changed. Why would it start happening only after a while?

I'm using Bridge CS6 and Photoshop CC.Hi JJMack - I just re-read your post. For some reason I thought you were suggesting to make sure "Open documents in Tabs" was selected, it was. Now I realize you were suggesting to turn it off! As another attemp to solve this problem I did de-select it today. Seemed to work for a good while. I was getting very excited, then, on the last set of images I had to do it displayed the same problem. But, it did go for quite a while without failing, and when it did I was thrashing about trying to make another app active. When loading documents like this - with "Open documents in Tabs" de-selected, Photoshop wants to put the loading images as the front-most window, no matter what other apps (Bridge, email, web etc) I click on in the dock. I think it is related to the bug you described effecting the "load files to stack" command.
Hopefully Adobe is looking at this - mind you, I have read reports of people having this problem in CS5! Looks like that was never resolved sadly.
I'll keep testing and post back.
I am looking to upgrade my video card to see if it's a video memory thing.
What is very weird though is the fact that this problem didn't present itself until after several weeks of working with this command with no problem. No additional apps installed, nothing changed. Why would it start happening only after a while?

Problems placing ai and eps files into PhotoShop CS3 on a Mac
When I place any ai or eps file into PhotoShop using File > Place, the images are pixelated. It does not matter if the PhotoShop file size is 72 dpi or 300 dpi, the end result is still the same.
Placing images used to work a few days ago, and now all of a sudden it does not. Are there any settings that may have been changed?I can’t reproduce the problem, but as with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems You might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences You’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program.

"Load Files into Photoshop Layers" persistent misalignment problem
I'm having a persistent problem which technical support was unable to resolve after being on the phone with them for 1.5 hrs.
I'm working in Bridge CC in ACR, synchronizing all parameters incl. crop, transform, exposure, etc. of a bracketed group of images shot from a solid tripod. When using the Tools / Photoshop / Load files into Photoshop layers command, the images open in photoshop in a layered file, BUT some are knocked out of alignment. Actually they have been cropped slightly smaller than the original file, always by the same number of pixels. Sometimes all layers are affected, sometimes not. Photoshop and Bridge are both up to date, as is the camera raw plugin. I’m on a new iMac i7 4-core, OSX 10.9.4. All software was newly downloaded from Adobe less than two weeks ago. I have reset preferences, even uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge CC 6.1.0.115 to no avail. Any suggestions?Hi JJMack - I just re-read your post.
