Problem Reading MMC Card

MMC+ Card - MobyMemory 1GB
The memory card has worked perfectly on both phones until recently. Both phones no longer recognise the card and all the Memory Card drop down menus are now inactive. However, when the card is plugged into a USB2 Card Reader in my computer, the card can be read perfectly. I reformatted the card on the computer (using FAT and not FAT32) but the phones still refuse to recognise the card is there.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
DB

I've had this problem when I've not inserted card correctly - but seems odd in your case if it doesn't work on either.
Have you tried restarting both phones (eg remove batteries?

  • Equium A100-306: Vista doesn't read MMC cards - MMC1 device has no driver

Have installed all the vista drivers from the toshiba support page and my card reader reads SD cards well.
However when I insert an MMC card Vista searches for drivers but cannot find any. Says MMC1 Device has no drivers.
    Help Please

Did your Equium read MMC card with XP? If yes, then I suggest you to reinstall your drivers and check if you forgot to download some drivers to download/install.
Sometimes you can find drivers which are not on the european website on the canadian website of toshiba:

Hope you will be successful. :)

  • HT4489 I can't import an Outlook vcard that is 7.3k in size.  It sends me an error message saying it had a problem reading the card.  Help.

Using the iCloud help screen I tried to import an Outlook contact in vcard format.  iCloud tells me it is having trouble reading the vcard (which is 7.3k in size).  Can someone help overcome this problem?  Thanks.

The message says: "The payment method has been denied, try another method"
I'm living in the same country and city since I was born, so I don't think the location is the problem.
And yes, I paid with the card a meal in Burguer King today. And nothing more.

  • Problem reading SD card on T400/Win XP Pro SP3

I have an SD card, which reads just fine on an olde T61. When I insert it into T400, I can browse the contents of the folders with no previews. When I am trying to copy a picture from the card to the computer, I have error message:
"Cannot copy <name>: The path is too deep."
I have all the updates installed through Lenovo update tool, and all windows updates installed as well.
Is there a solution to this problem? Has anyone experienced something similar?
    Thanks

I just got off the phone talking with Lenovo rep. He suggested the problem is caused by some incompatibility of SP3 with the SD card driver. The suggested fix is to follow the instructions here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itproxpsp/thread/b435c934-112b-4142-8bc5-496482c2c8...
Did anybody try this? I am quite hesitant to mess manually with the Win drivers. Any more ideas?
It seems strange, because the problem on that forum was reported in January, and apparently it has not been addressed by MS/Lenovo since then, with some automatic update.

  • Problem reading SIM card?

I am trying to activate my Iphone but can't get it to connect to Itunes.
All I get is an error message that the Iphone cannot be used with Itunes because the SIM card is not installed.
When I press on the "i" on the activation screen I get the message "ICCID: Unknown".
I have tried the ATT sim in another phone and it is recognized so I know that's not the problem.
My Iphone is on firmware version 1.0.2.
Any help with this would be much appreciated

First...I would start with updating iTunes to the most recent version. Second, if the iPhone is hacked or you purchased from "ANYONE" other then Apple or AT&T, then I would highly recommend you not activate the phone or upgrade to version 1.1.1 as you may end up with an expensive desk ornament. If all is lagit...then the update to iTunes should get you started. Also, make sure that your phone is connected directly to a USB port, not a hub, keyboard or monitor usb. Hope that helps.
    Good Luck

  • My MacBook Pro does not read XD Cards.

We're on vacation and took a whole bunch of pictures with my wife's Olympus camera. When we realized we left the cable home I went to Radio Shack and bought a Card reader.
My Dad's 10 years old HP computer has no problem reading the **** thing, while my overpriced because it works MacBookPRO what a joke laptop can't read it.
the reader is Converter Drive by Digital concepts.
Is this why we have supported the cool looking nerds at 1 infinite loop while everyone else was buying PCs? I'm an old timer (Mac since 87) and disgusted with all the small details and corners apple is cutting.
Can someone please explain how is it possible for the "leader" for the design community's computers to not be able to read something an HP can read.

I haven't had any problem reading XD cards with a pretty basic card reader on any of our Macs, Turk (MBPs, MBs, iMacs, PB's , iBooks etc)
The reader you have bought has some pretty awful reviews, I'm afraid. see http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Concepts-Flash-Memory-Reader/dp/B00178LEJA for example. You will see that PC users have problems with it too. PC and Mac users alike seem to have problems with it not just not reading, but melting! When 6 out of 7 users give a device a "1 star out of 5" rating you can be pretty sure its a dog. (Sorry, that is rather unkind to dogs when I think about it!).
I'd suggest you simply try a different brand of reader. I'd avoid the super cheapies like this one in future, though. This one, in particular, sounds like a serious fire hazard. maybe you are lucky it doesn''t work in your Mac!
    Cheers

  • Integrated SD/mmc card reader

I have a strange problem with the integrated sd/mmc card reader on my laptop. I know I have everything correctly configured and the needed modules loaded because I can use a 16MB and a 128MB SD cards without any problem. When I insert any of them udev creates the devices:
    From /var/log/messages.log
    mmcblk0: mmc0:1d00 SD016 14560KiB
    mmcblk0: p1
    mmcblk0: mmc0:4125 SD128 123008KiB
    mmcblk0: p1
    and the devices:
    ls -l /dev/mm*
    brw-rw---- 1 root disk 254, 0 abr 10 17:14 /dev/mmcblk0
    brw-rw---- 1 root disk 254, 1 abr 10 17:14 /dev/mmcblk0p1
I can mount the second device and access to the card.
But if I use a 256MB or a 1GB card udev does not detect them and does not create the mmcblk devices. Also no messages in the logs. Any idea of the reason?
The only log is when I remove the card:
    mmc0: Card removed during transfer!
    mmc0: Resetting chip
Some days ago I was still using Slackware and I could read these two cards. The kernel was a 2.6.17, so it may be a bug in the 2.6.20 kernel?
The card reader is a Winbond W83L51xD and the modules required are mmc_core, mmc_block and wbsd.

So this is what my /etc/modprobe.d/mmc.conf contains:
    options sdhci debug_quirks=0x40
    options firewire-ohci quirks=0x10 debug=0xf
and now, on reboot, when loading user-specified modules, I get the same error:
mmc0: Unknown controller version (16). You may experience problems.
and this is what dmesg says now:

  • Muvo C100 Sport SD - MMC Card Problem

    Hi there,
i recieved my new MuVo C00 Sport a few days ago! I have a big prob with external memory cards.
tried sd and mmc cards with 52mb. the player does not initialize the cards after "power on"...
jumping to the external card shows the info "no music"! after plug out and in of the card while the player is on,
    the card gets readable...
is this a firmware bug? i have testet 3 different 52mb cards (sd and mmc). this is no good news, cause i do not want to plug the card every time i turn the player on, even when i go out for a run!!!
can anyone share his experiences with me about that?
    thanks,
    iron_muvo

    Hi all.
I have also unfortunatly had the same problem with my sandisk 52 card, when I try and access the card through the player it will only read as 'no music'. Also the Muvo C00 does not even read the size of the card or free space, only that it is there I have also tried formating in FAT/32, to no avail.
"If I have no music on the internal memory, after I turn it on, it stalls for about 30sec-2minutes then it displays "No Music". If there is music on the internal dri've, then it plays from the internal dri've and then says there is no music in the external<FONT color=#ffffff> card. The only way I can get it to work is by turning the player on, then inserting the card. It reads almost immediately with this method. After I restart it, then it won't read at all. It's very frustrating. I know it should work, but it won't.".......
Despite the issues I am still keeping the player as it fits me needs nicely, and of course I expect Creative to support this product like any other sooo I can wait for the fix that is sure to come.
    Peace

  • Problem with new mmc card

Hi. i hope someone can help me. Just bought on contact a nokia 6630. Its very good. Decided to but a rs mmc card of 512 mb for more data storage. Problem is the phone doesnt see it. Any ideas on what i need to do. Thanks Andy

Just an "MMC for mobiles" is not enough. It must be labeled exactly (letter-for-letter): "MMCmobile" (or "DV RS-MMC"). Other types of cards do not work.
If it is of correct type, then check that you put it in the card slot the right way (the card's connector surfaces upwards) and far enough (to "click" in place).
If even those don't help, check that the phone's "Memory" app sees the card and lets you format it (in case it for some strange reason or another wasn't formatted).
If that's not enough, then you have either a broken card or a broken phone.

  • Satellite M40: card reader doesnt recognize RS-MMC cards

I have a problem with the card reader,if i insert a RS-MMC card this does not recognized and windows crash.
SD or MMC cards functions perfectly.
    The card reader is damaged?

    you can do the following:
push your rs-mcc card into the slot without the adapter, you will need a pencil or sthg like that to push it far enough..
then your notebook will recognize it
you can pull out your card again by shoving the adapter after it in the slot, when you hear the clicking sound you can pull the adapter with the card on it out of the slot
(when i put the adapter on the card before, and put the card then into the slot, it didnt function at all, seemed like the card couldnt be pushed deep enough into the slot due to the adapter)
at least it worked for me, i had the rs-mcc card and the adapter from my siemens s65 mobile phone
besides, though this procedure might sound a bit rough, it didnt seem to me that it did any harm neither to the adapter, nor to the card + slot

i have problem with my iphone, it;s never lock and not read sim card, before reinstaling 6.01, thnx juliany

If you are both on the T-mobile network, the sim card should work.  If you did a Erase All Content and Settings, then she should be at the point of activation as a new device...talk to T-mobile and be sure the sim she is using is a valid sim card.

  • Satellie A100: How to use MMC card in card reader

    Hi everybody,
first of all I have a Toshiba Satellie A100 Notebook.
And now my question: at the front of the (closed) Notebook, there is card reader slot, right next to microphone and volume, etc.
I have a MMC card of my mobile phone, but it doesn't fit in becuse the slot I much to big. Do i need an adapter? I'm afraid, that i won't get it out anymore afterwards!
    Can somebody help me please?!
    Thanks!
    grettings, thomas87

No, i don't mean the express-card-slot on the left side of the notebook.
sorry, it is a satellie A100-773.
I have already looked into the manuals and there is a cardreader SD/MMC/...
under the slot there are also symbols of different mediacards!
so it does really exist! =)
but how to use it? it's such a big slot, and the mmc is rather small. so how should i put in the mmc? more left, or right or in the middle...you know what i mean? or do i need an adapter?
    thanks, thomas87

    Hi
I had a problem with my card reader also.
When I run the command "groups" noticed my user wasn't in the avahi group.
    Ran :
    sudo gpasswd -a <myuser> avahi
    (substitute "<myuser>" by your user)
Inserted the card again and.. voila, it worked!
