Problem reading Pdf on Ipad

with certain pdfs I get an error message beining with the words, Please wait.  The message goes on the say that if the message is not replaced by the proper contents, I should update my Adobe Reader.  I have the most recent Adobe Reader app and there is no outstanding updates.  What is wrong here?

agrpking,
Your PDF document is a special type of form called a "dynamic XFA form".
Currently, Adobe Reader mobile products (Reader for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support dynamic XFA forms that are authored with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
The message "Please wait..." is displayed when a dynamic content is not supported by a PDF viewer.  As far as I know, no PDF viewers on iOS support dynamic XFA forms.
Please use the desktop version of Adobe Reader on a Windows or Mac computer to fill out XFA forms.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Why exactly are you asking a question about the iPad on an iPhone forum?
Why don't you go and post it on the iPad forum?

  • Is anybody having problems reading PDF files

Having a problem reading PDF files. Is there a workaround?  Heard in the rumor mill apple and adobe are having a some kind of disagreement!!!

    What exactly is your problem?
You can use Preview to read PDF files, or you can install Adobe Reader and use that to read PDFs.

  • Having problems reading pdf in safari (encoding)?

I'm having problems with reading pdf files on safari.  What is the fix?

And carefully read what Adobe advise customers to do:
"Adobe recommends customers stay with Mac OS 10.6 and Safari 5.0.x in order for in-browser use cases to continue to function."
Apple Safari 5.1 and Adobe Reader/Acrobat Advisory
As of today Safari can not display the pdf files from the on-line libraries around the globe but the user can download the pdf file, and then it shows up.
I guess this is yet another reason to stay with the 10.6.8 Mac OS.

  • Problems reading PDF Files and or Word Documents and when purchased this I had Word on this computer?

I need help I had just recently purchased a program to help solve issues on my computer From Reimage and they still have not fixed the problems that I am having and I am no computer wiz and need help.

You need Adobe Reader to read PDF files.
You need MS Office to open Word docs. If you don't have then
LibreOffice is one of your best bets.

  • Problem reading pdf file on ipad

I emailed a pdf to myself to read on the ipad3. When I click on the file in the email it reads properly. When I use "open in" Adobe Reader or "open in" ibooks the file crashes the program. The file reads properly on my computer (PC) and was downloaded from a reliable publishing house. Any advice?

Resolving this particular “problem” is not necessarily something that can be done with our software, especially if the newspaper in question is simply allowing you to download PDF files of the full broadsheet or even tabloid size pages used for printing. There is just too much content on such newspaper pages, even if just text, to allow for (1) reasonably page-to-page performance and (2) even a passable reading experience in terms of content layout, type size, etc.

  • Problems reading PDF files with i Pad and Mac with 10.8.3 Mountain Lion OS

I assume InDesign uses the Acrobat XI resources to generate the exported PDFs.
I have many 1-7 page articles from which I created PDFs via the export function in ID. They all read OK on PC/Apple/Linux based computers.
I assembled all of the articles into one 50 page document in ID and again exported the large file as a PDF.
Several of the articles inside the large document now exhibit problems when viewed on an i Pad or a Mac running OS 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion). PC and Linux do not have this problem.
The problems are, to quote my subscriber: "each paragraph starts with a 'dollar' sign instead of 'Th'. Later the 'Dollar' symbol changes to ' " '. The same thing happens in the Piston Ring article. This doesn't happen on the original PDF files.
Opening the files in Acrobat Pro XI to look for differences does not discover anything although I assume the problem is somewhere in the font files.
    Any suggestions?

I've asked the question about the versions and producers of the PDF reader software he is using. I'll be back when that answer comes in.
I was afraid that Adobe might not use code identical to Acrobat Pro XI to generate PDFs in InDesign. I may have to 'print' to Acrobat and see if that generates a trouble-free PDF.

  • Problem reading pdf files, they are incomplete, garbled

I cannot read or download correctly pdf files. They appear garbled, illegible and incomplete both on screen and when trying to print them.

I have found a somewhat lengthy solution:
First open the problem pdf file with Foxit.
Then save it as the same name file in the same place, overwriting the original file.
Now open the new file with Adobe Reader and the problem has gone.
The problem of missing letters when copying text has gone too.
I have no idea why this works.
I would still like to learn of a better solution.

  • Copying/storing/reading .pdf on iPad

I have a number of .pdf files that I want to store and access on the iPad. What is the best way to move them to the iPad, and where would they be stored?
I could put them on MobileMe, but that doesn't help when I am off-line, like on a plane

I would highly recommend Goodreader for iPad. It is $0.99 and well worth it. You can put PDFs and other files on in a number of ways. There is a USB transfer available in iTunes. You can download PDFs from the web by placing a g in front of the URL. The URL needs to point directly to the file. This might work with others file, I haven't tried it.

  • Problem reading pdf files

I’m having trouble opening some recent pdf files with Adobe Reader.  This is a problem that has only happened in the last few weeks.
All my older pdf files open without any problem. However all my more recently downloaded pdf files will not open. I get the message “There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.”
My computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium with a 64-bit OS and 8 GB RAM and my Adobe Reader is up-to-date (Adobe Reader XI Version 11.0.10).
I have already tried re-installing Adobe Reader and used the help to Repair Adobe Reader Installation but to no avail.
All my pdf files open with Foxit so I don’t think that any are really damaged.
However when I copy text from Foxit to Word letters are occasionally omitted (for example off might appear as of or fire as fie ). This may well be because Foxit is not as reliable as it should be and it happens even with the older files Adobe Reader can open. So I am not happy using Foxit as a solution.

I have found a somewhat lengthy solution:
First open the problem pdf file with Foxit.
Then save it as the same name file in the same place, overwriting the original file.
Now open the new file with Adobe Reader and the problem has gone.
The problem of missing letters when copying text has gone too.

  • Problem reading PDF

    hi,
Every time I try to read a document in a PDF file, it only shows the first page. The rest of the pages I can't see.
I don't really know what to do to solve this problem.
    Help!!!

You need to provide more information: OS, Reader version, local or online PDF?  If online, in what browser?
Note this is the Flash Player, not Reader forum.

  • Problems reading pdfs

I hope somebody can help - this is driving me insane.
I have a new Playbook that I'm just getting to know. I have sent Adobe pdfs from my laptop, but there only seems to be the first page. I installed Skydrive, but the same thing is happening. Why can I not see beyond the first page?
    Solved!

Hello. I had a similar problem. I'd had my PB about 2 years when it started having trouble with some PDF's. Older ones still worked fine, but newer ones just consisted of blank pages! A forum member told me it was the installed version of Adobe reader that was out of date and that the only answer was to install a PDF app. I found one in the Playbook App Store for 75 pence, and it works a treat, reads everything.
    Hope this helps you.

  • What happened to reading pdfs on ipad after "upgrading" to iOS5?  I cant find them nor can I figure out how to save a pdf in iOS5.

I cant seem to figure out how to save pdf's to my ipad in iOS5.  I understand they got wiped out with the update but why did the feature go away or if it didnt how do I save a pdf for offline viewing?

    Captkenrea-
It probably depends on where you are seeing the PDFs.  I had not noticed a change with my iPad.
In Mail, a PDF attachment can be read there, but it also can be "Opened In" some other Apps such as iBooks.  When opened in iBooks, it is saved to one of the bookshelves.  If you do not see it, press on Collections at the top of an iBooks bookshelf.  It may have been saved to a different bookshelf.
In Safari, often you can press and hold on a link or document, and have additional options appear.

  • Problems reading PDF. Microsoft Office interferes

When I try to open a PDF file my Office 2010 attempts to open it instead of Adobe reader.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader and also have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2010. I am using Windows 7 and the latest version of Adobe Reader.
Update - I did a custom reinstall of Office with only Word and Excel installed and Adobe works fine so some individual program in Office is interfering with Adobe.  May be a problem for Microsoft Office forum to address instead of Adobe.

  • Problem Reading pdf files sent thru e-mail

I saved some software output prints to pdf files (software has option for saving to pdf) and e-mailed to a co-worker.  I can see and print fine from my hard drive but recipient got only dots on the pages.  Should have been numbers and text.  I have Adobe 8.1.2.  Do you have any idea why this happened or what to do?  Thanks.

Some email servers corrupt PDF files because they use the wrong encoding for them. Try zipping them up before sending them.
