Problem reading Photos on 6230i

I have a 6230i and have taken, read and saved photos in the past using Lexmark P6350 printer with MMC slot.
This time printer says it cannot find any photos and the card should be formatted. How do I do this? Can it be done without losing the photos?
All help will be appreciated. Thanks

Firstly, I'd like to let you know that I had the same problem(except it was a Canon). There is no way of formatting the card without deleting all the data on it, so the best thing to do is get a memory card reader and copy the files to your PC and then put the memory card in your phone, and when asked, format the memory card and then copy the files back to your memory card.
Hope that helps!

  • Warning-encountered problems reading photo

Just started receiving this message for a ton of images. Before this I just started getting the exclamation point waring about metadat. That I was able to fix by reimporting metadata.
Any idea on how to fix this one on propblems reading photo unable to make adjustments.
    Thanks
    Dan

I was also plagued by this problem. I could "fix it" (sort of) by leaving the computer alone (i.e. do not touch anything) while importing images from a memory card.
Background: When I was first seeing this error, I was thinking - "aw, no, the CF card failed, gosh". After a short panic attack, I wrote down the file names and imported them (from the same CF card, same location, not even restarted Lightroom) manually. No problem at all, so I ruled CF card failure out. *phew*
The error was always appearing when I was using Lightroom during the import process, e.g. opening images from the just imported set. Now, my Laptop computer is quite fast (Intel Core Duo T2300E 1,66GHz), so I thought processor performance should not be a problem. I guess it's a bug that needs to be fixed.
An interim solution is to do nothing while importing, which works for me. Just imported 700+ images without a single problem.

  • Error message- "LR has encountered problems reading this photo" after installing LR 5.6 on new computer and retrieving all contents from old HD from external HD.

    Hi-
I got a new PC laptop, retrieved all old HD contents from my external HD, installed LR 5.6 (5.4 on previous PC) and when I tried to open up my old Lightroom catalog it has an error saying "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo.  You will not be able to make adjustments to this photo".  I tried to open the catalog straight from my external HD with the same error message. I've read about four billion forum threads to try to figure it out- files do not seem to be missing as most threads indicate.  The other threads suggest there is a corruption with the file, but I don't THINK that is the case.  Are there any other suggestions?   If the file is corrupted, how do I find out for sure?  Have I lost all my edits??
Thanks for your help and time!

Here is a snippet from a discussion on another forum that includes a quote from Jeff Schewe, whom I consider to be a very good source for reliable information:
Look, I'll make it REAL simple...
    TIFF = Good
    PSD = Bad
PSD is now a bastardized file format that is NOT a good idea to use. Even the Photoshop engineers will tell you that PSD is no longer the Photoshop "native" file format. It has no advantages and many disadvantages over TIFF.
TIFF is publicly documented, PSD is not. That makes TIFF a preferred file format for the long term conservation of digital files.
And, let me be blunt, anybody who thinks PSD is "better" than TIFF is ignorant of the facts. If Adobewould let them, the Photoshop engineers would tell you to quit using PSD.

  • "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo."

    ***** UPDATE July 17, 2013 @ 9:16 am Central Time (UTC -06:00)*****
After Creating a fresh catalog I have been able to clarify the issue a bit. This error appears to only show up in Folders exported as Catalogs. Particularly when I try and open that exported catalog.
I suspect there is a problem with the way Lightroom 5 is exporting these catalogs. I didn't have this issue with LR4.4, but it shows up any time I export a folder as a catalog within LR5, regardless of whether or not it is exported from an upgraded catalog or a fressly created catalog.
It looks like fixing the problem is going to be time consuming, but not impossible. So far I have confirmed that these files - reported as throwing this error by Lightroom 5 ("Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo .... You will not be able to make adjustment to this photo.") - can be imported into a new/existing catalog by multiple methods without carrying over the errors displayed in the exported catalog.
This is frustrating and adds additional steps to my workflow, but isn't undoable. Of course it would be nice if LR5 worked as correctly and exported folders as catalogs without throwing errors when those new catalogs were opened...
Is anyone else seeing this problem when they open catalogs created by "exporting a folder as a catalog"?
    ***** Original Post *****
I'm really confused. I am consistently getting this message on certain exports, but not others...
    When it happens:
    1) "Export this Folder as a Catalog" from a specific folder within my Working Catalog
         Select the location
         Select "Export negative files"
When I open the NEW Catalog - ALL the photos reflect this error message: "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo .... You will not be able to make adjustment to this photo."
When I go to the Develop tab it displays "There was an error working with the photo" over the photo, but I can edit it... When I close the catalog and re-open it, the changes don't reflect UNTIL I go back to the Develop tab, then the thumbnail will reflect the change. But the system still insists that it has a problem with the file...
    2) The same thing happens when I export the file from my Working Catalog as an image of the same format - be it tif, dng, or psd, or RAW files. Not sure what I was refering to here (can't duplicate today - July 17).
    When it doesn't happen:
When I export the file to the auto import folder for my Portfolio catalog (original format). This seems to work...
Why am I so confused? Because all of these catalogs are located on the same drive (which is different than the drive my Working Catalog is on). When they are auto imported to my Portfolio catalog they seem to work, but everything else throws an error sinse I upgraded to LR5!
    My System:
Windows 7 Pro SP1 (fully up to date) 64-bit
    Intel Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
    Installed RAM: 12.0 GB
My Lightroom 5 Working Catalog doesn't seem to be having any problems...
This problem is frustrating enough that I may go back to LR4. I can't have my archived files compromised...

Suggestion to all who encounter problems like this: if you've installed 3rd party memory cards (ram), go back to your original ram, or at least the brand of ram that your computuer came with.
    Long story, short:
I had the same error message in LR5.  It only happened with several images in a given import.  If I deleted all of the images from the import and reimported the images, a different set of images would have the error message.  The images that originally had the message would no longer have the problem.  I deleted and reimported several times while observing the same behavior.
Not only did lightroom give me issues, but Bridge had problems reading the files, and the previews of the problem images would not show up in Finder (Mac speak).  This ruled out, to me at least, that it was a software issue.  I went out and purchased a new card reader and had the same problems.  I tried a different card with different images and got the same problems.
After I contacted Adobe, they had me upload two files with the error, and they said the files were corrupted due to faulty hardware.  I took my mac book pro (13in early 2011 w/ 10.7.5) to the apple store and they ran a diagnostic test amoung other test and we came up with nothing.  Everything seemed to be good on the hardware side.  After some research the Rep. asked me about my ram (memory cards).  I had in the past installed two 3rd party cards to boost my ram from 4GB to 8GB. The rep. suggested that I go home and test the issue with the original ram my computer came with before we go any farther.  So far, I haven't had any issues.
    I hope this helps,

  • LR5 encountered problems reading this photo.

    Hi,
I am working on a Macbook Pro, 8gb with 1 tb
    Recently did external back up.
Mac was having issues so we ( IT guys ) did a clean install and only brought back in basics.
( I was on LR3 and PSE9 ) but we didn't bring it over as mirror copy because there were so many other items on Mac I didn't need.
I bought Mac with LR3 and PSE9 so I could not do upgrade,
I instead started the trial today, so we could merge from the external the images to Pictures. ( so it was on external in pictures and now on os-x pictures )
So LR5 brought all my catalogs in, I even got smug mug to find its catalogs. , but now I am getting ! on every image.
I have selective chosen the image from external and moved it to OS X  pictures folder.
Why am I getting the ! on the images. When I right click the ! I get error, LR has encountered problems reading this file.
when I click find in file folder I get a tiff picture with a loop on top and if I click that I get this... Item “untitled-8547-Edit.tif” is used by OS X and can’t be opened.
one thing I did just notice is the date on the tiff says, Jan 24th 1984 3am 0 bytes tiff image.   ( what the heck? )
now the image right beside it to the left is the image ( I can actually see ) and it looks good.
why is finder bringing up a bogus tiff ?
Thank you for your help. Need to be up and running. Need these ! gone , please help.
    Diana

  • I recently had to swap out my iphone 4s and I am having problems restoring photos and videos from icloud.  I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server".  Pics and videos have been deleted too.

I recently had to swap out my iphone 4s and I am having problems restoring photos and videos from icloud.  When I restored my phone from icloud, half of my pics and videos have been deleted, the pics that were restored on my phone are very blurry, and the videos won't play.  I get a message on my phone that says " the URL you are requesting is not found on this server".  I have erased and reset my phone twice, but every time I do it, more pics and videos are deleted.  I have backed up to icloud and iphoto, however, some of the pics are no longer on iphoto either.  Is there someway to get the videos to play on my phone again?  Make the photos not as blurry as they are now and to restore the pics and videos that have been lost?  I really would love to have them back, this phone is supposed to be the best and right now it doesn't seem to be.  Please help if you can.

I too have noticed that once i restored from iCloud. Pictures blurry and videos wont play!
    Need help too!!

  • Problem with photos in Photoshop

I have discovered, since upgrading to iPhoto 6, that when I click on a picture, and it is supposed to be the only one which opens, at least four of the photos open, stacking one on top of the other. Not a problem is you are going to work with those four, but when you click on the fifth, it is the first four which come up. I repaired permissions, and the first time I used the program after that was fine, then it reverted to several pictures coming up together. Is this an iPhoto problem or a Photoshop problem, and how do I get rid of it??
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Leslie:
Sounds more like an iPhoto problem. Can you select just one, start to drag it somewhere so you see the number next to the cursor. Make sure it's just one. Then double click on it. See what happens. There's an easy workaround that I use as my normal method. In iPHoto preferences select the main window as the editor. Now when you Control-click on a photo, you can select Edit in external editor in the drop-down menu and Photoshop will open the file. That way I can use both editing modes without having to go to change the preferences.
If four photos open with that method then it may be a PS problem.

  • Problem emailing photos from iPhoto after installing OS 10.5.1

Since installing Leopard I have had problems emailing photos from iPhoto. I can send from my laptop to another Mac without problem BUT when I try to email pix from iPhoto to a PC user or to post on my Google Group board it only sends the 'title' I gave it in iPhoto or the 'PC134567.JPG' the camera assigns it. I have tried exporting and attaching to emails but that doesnt work either .. at least not all the time. AND when I do send them from iPhoto to my office PC they arrive NOT as an attachment but are embedded in the email message .. seriously what the heck is going on and why is this not working the way it used to pre-OS 10.5.1? What changed? How can I make this work the way it used to?
Thanks for reading and hopefully solving my problem

Thank you again .. I got home and immediately tried the fix you suggested .. sent a 'test' email and it worked perfectly.

  • Problems downloading Photos from 8900 smartphone

    Hi
Im having problems downloading photos stored on an SD card from my BB to PC.
Ive looked at the other posts and turned on mass storage accordingly.
When I connect my BB to the PC using the USB link, the BB informs me the mass storage mode is being activated and requests a password, which I enter.
However, the BB does not appear in the Devices list in the My Computer screen on the PC.
Does anyone have ideas as to the problem??
I have lots of photos on there, so want to avoid sending dozens of mails to get the photos off the BB.
    Thank you

    Hi stuart_fraser,
Have you checked the Windows Device Manager to see if the BlackBerry and/or Mass storage device shows up?  Also, the BlackBerry may show up in "My Computer" as a removable storage device.
    Thanks

    Self explanatory.
You could try creating an iPod version of the films.
Use CTRL and B to display the Menu bar shown above. Alternatively, use the ALT key, followed by the F key, the W key and finally the I (eye) key - that's (menu)/File/Create New Version/Create iPod or iPhone version.

You correct it by leaving Bridge alone until it finishes rebuilding its cache, overnight if necessary.

    Hi to Anyone,

I am not 100% savy with my IMac yet, but continue learning. The message I keep getting was "Choose an Application to open". Anyway, I get a new message saying cannot open either because the items were previously emailed, disk damaged or cannot read program. Can you help me?. Where should I have attempted to open in?

    Try here:
    iTunes: Unable to sync photos
Usually deleting the iPod Photo Cache Folder works. Note that if you sync via the folder method, make sure you dlete all the ifolders since :
The iPod Photo Cache stores the photos that are optimized for display on your iPod, iPad, or iPhone. The location of this folder depends on the syncing options you select. In iTunes, if you change the selection in the “Sync Photos From” pop-up menu, a new iPod Photo Cache folder will be created (and the previous folder will remain).

  • Sudden Problem Sending Photos by Email

    Hi,
After being able to successfully send photos from my iPhone by email ever since I got it, I suddenly have a problem. The recipient does not receive the photo - only a small blue box with a question mark in it. The copy of the email in my Sent folder looks the same.
I've tried a reset and, for info, I use BT Yahoo for email.
Have hunted high and low for reference to this and only found one post but there was no real explanation or resolution.
Any help or advice gratefully received. Cheers!

Problem sending photos via email since I recently updated to iLife 11.
Which MacOS X version are you using and which iPhoto version?
If you are using Yosemite and have enabled up two-step verification for iCloud?  Then you may need to create an application specific password for iPhoto.  See this discussion:  Re: Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)Re: Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)Re: Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)  Unable to send photo through email using iphoto theme (designs)
