Problem receiving email using database control

Hi all,
I'm new to using EM and trying to configure it so I can receive email notifications when tablespace is getting full. I'm only using "Database Control" not Grid control.
Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control 10.2.0.0
I was able to successfully receive email using "Test Mail Servers" in Notification Methods.
I already defined my rule and was able to specify "Tablespace Used %" metrics.
I already defined a schedule so that mails are sent to my email.
To test, i created records on one table until it's 100%.
I do get alerts with EM Database Control but no mail.
I logged in as sysman into the database being monitored (there is no repository because this is database control), I don't see any rows in mgmg_notification_log.
Does anybody know if email notification only works in "Grid Control" not "Database Control"?
I'd appreciate any assistance.

Grid Control has hundreds of email alerts already setup that you can use , but I pretty sure you need to buy
that pack for email alerts to keep them in service after you evaluate.

I have BIS but can't surf, send/receive email, use apps

i have BB Curve 8520. My BIS was running smoothly (sending and receiving emails real time and surfing the net through BIS), until i noticed when i tried to reply to an email that came in, it won't send. i noticed that it's fluctuating. i was able to send the email after a few minutes... then a few minutes later, i received a replied email from my friend, and when i tried to send my reply, i wasn't able to. also, i can't surf using the browser with the "internet browser" as default. i tried using my wifi and then suddenly all my emails started coming in, all emails that were not able to go through hours ago. my big question was why do i need to turn on wifi just to receive emails. but since i had my BIS for 2 months now, i can send and receive emails and surf through BIS itself without turning on the wifi. also, i can't use any of my apps like facebook, twitter, yahoo messenger, etc. They used to work fine with BIS... but now, i have to turn on the wifi connection, so i could log in with them. aren't these supposed to be running through BIS only?
I have GPRS on top, not gprs. my carrier says i have active data plan/BIS. but under Services Status..it says Blackberry Internet Service: Connection: not connected...
so, i wiped out my BB and deleted all third party apps. when this was done, i received emails telling me "Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" and even got "Activation Server" emails telling me that the emails that i have previously set up are now up and running. so i thought my BB is now ok.. i tried surfing, it was okay. after like about 5 minutes, it was down again. tried sending email but can't... i turned on the wifi and boom! the emails started coming in again.i have the Host Routing Tables and my Service Books in my BB. I have GPRS (not gprs) on top which means i have active BIS. i have registered my HRTs several times... and resending my service books... same thing...
the big mystery is when i turn on the wifi, the emails suddenly go through and i can send emails. i can open apps that used to only run on BIS. this is ok i guess, but i could never do any of these if i'm not connected to wifi.
my sister and i have the same BB... i removed my sim and inserted it to her BB and the BIS worked fine... i was able to surf and use apps.. but when i put my sim back on my phone, the problem still exists. i even used a different sim card that is also subscribed to BIS/data plan, and it still has the same problem... my guess is my carrier is right that my data plan is working ok and that my handheld itself has the problem...
i updated my OS, same problem.. wiped it out... used BBSAK, reinstalled OS... numerous battery pulls... same thing... i can receive the HRTs and service books, but after that can't do anything else like i used to... (send/receive emails, use apps like facebook, twitter, ym, etc., can't surf with internet browser - except when wifi is on everything else work fine even emails and apps)..

Having a problem receiving email with Outlook

Hello all:
Just installed a WRT54GS.
I am having a problem receiving email. Sometimes it comes through but most of the time I'm getting am error message 0X8004210A which is a timeout error. I can send email OK.
I have port forwarded 25 and 113 as well as trying to port trigger these.
Using Outlook for my email.

Try to check on your outlook properties...
make sure you have to make sure that you have the correct incoming server..

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Problems Receiving Emails and some data on WIFI since latest software update.
My blackberry torch will not receive emails on wifi since the latest software update, I've tried numerous wifi networks and several handsets, even had them replaced and received a brand new. Still the same problem.
When turning off the wifi network on the torch, the phone will stall for 5-10min while it tries to communicate with the network (vodafone) to receive outstanding emails and data.
Can someone please inform Blackberry and get a quick fix on this

Is it possible to schedule SQLPLUS script with 6 different parameters? If yes then how can I schedule for monday to friday or only for Saturday and sundays.

Let me explain to you about scheduler.
You can schedule a pl/sql stored procedure TEST_S as follows...

So first read about DBMS_SCHEDULER and do the work in prompt. Then you can go and schedule it even by database control.

PS: By default each job you created is disable state. Please enable it by enable procedure of DBMS_SCHEDULER package.

HT1430 I am having problems receiving emails on my mini ipad, if my wi fi is not on for say 2 days then I switch it on it will not give me the last 3 days emails, only the day I am on.

I am having problems receiving emails on my ipad mini, if my wi fi has been off for 3 days for eg. when I switch it on it will only send me emails from that day and not from the previous 3 days

How to use database control to execute sql queries which change at run time

I need to execute sql queries using database controls , where the sql changes
at run time
based on some condition. For eg. based on the condition , I can add some where
condition.
Eg. sql = select id,name from emp where id = ?.
based on some condition , I can add the following condition .
and location = ?.

From the perspective of the database control, you've got two options:
1) use the sql: keyword to do parameter substitution. Your observation
about {foo} style sbustitution is correct -- this is like using a
PreparedStatement. To do substitution into the rest of the SQL
statement, you can use the {sql: foo} substitution syntax which was
undocumented in GA but is documented in SP2. Then, you can build up
the filter clause String yourself in a JPF / JWS / etc and pass it into
the DB control.
For example:
* @jc:sql statement="select * from product {sql: filter}"
public Product[] getProducts(String filter) throws SQLException;
This will substitute the String filter directly into the statement that
is executed. The filter string could be null, "", "WHERE ID=12345", etc.
2) you can use the DatabaseFilter object to build up a set of custom
sorts and filters and pass that object into the DB control method.
There have been other posts here about doing this, look for the subject
"DatabaseFilter example".

I am having trouble in receiving emails using outlook. I only some on my ipad but receive them on my PC!
Can anyone help?

We worked with Microsoft on this issue and updating our DirSync set-up solved the issue.
We are running a hybrid setup with Exchange 2010 locally talking to O365. We had set this up as a fairly standard Sync but did not enable hybrid when we set it up as it didn't seem warranted based upon our needs.
Our set up had been running fine for over a year and suddenly this issue cropped up. The MS engineers determined that Outlook would talk with our exchange and since we didn't have the Hybrid Sync happening, for some reason it wasn't passing on the Cloud
Exchange address when the mailbox wasn't found on the local Exchange 2010 server.
Nothing was explained as to why only accounts with Resource Account ownership were experiencing this issue, but updating our DirSync server and setting it to Hybrid did solve the issue. Curiosity is less important than my time so I'm moving on...

Problem mapping to XMLBean using database control

I have to generate an XML document based on the values returned from the database. I have an industry standard XSD with me and Im trying to use the database control to automatically map the resultset data to the XMLBean. While doing so, it works fine for flat structures that doesnt contain any complex types and attributes. But, when the XSD contains attributes or nested complex types it creates XMLBean with a flat structure and generates an invalid XML document. All the attributes get mapped to elements and thus when i try to validate, it fails.
I would appreciate if anyone can let me know if this is a limitation in weblogic 8.1 or do i need to configure something. This problem has been bugging me for a very long time and i have posted in all forums and i strongly feel that there is no point checking for everyfield value and setting into XMLBean manually. Also the number of fields in our XSD is 400. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem in using database control in JPD.

Hi All,
I am developing a JPD which also involves using DB control. The connected DB is Oracle 9.2.
I have created DB control with "insert" method and one with "update" method.
When i call "insert" method in JPD by dynamically passing values, it works fine. I have a "task control" in a JPD and once the task is complted by a specific user, again I am calling "update" method.
Here it fails to update the DB. The strange part is that the perform node executes after the control send node and there are no exceptions. Heres my update method

* UPDATE PROPOSAL_INFO SET status = {status} WHERE track_num = {trackingNumber}

The strange part is that, If I hard code the "status" and "trackingNumber" value instead of passing dynalically by using (ie without using {}), then update happens.
Can somebody suggest me the solution for this problem??

Problems sending and receiving emails using exchange when on wifi - OK when using Sim Card

I've an iphone 4S using Exchange to link up with company server, this works fine when using 3G - phone's Sim Card. But when I join a wifi network I can no longer send and receive emails until I disconnect from the wifi network.
Has anybody any ideas?

you need to make sure the following is met:
1- router is correclt setup and antennas are plugged
2- users are withint good range from the router
3- use a good channel for the router, one of either 1, 6 or 11. try to figure out which is the best channel to choose using a freeware site survey tool.
4- ssid configuration doesn´t involve eap and session timeouts.

User not receiving email / corrupt database?

Much like another recent post, I have a user that can not receive email the emails just sit in the queue.
The error on those messages is "[[email protected]]: temporary failure"
Here are the twists:
1) We had a power spike a couple of days ago. The user's UPS failed and his machine lost power completely. He rebooted and everything else was fine, but he has not received an e-mail since then.
2) When looking at the list of users on the Server Admin > Mail > Maintenance > Accounts screen, the list in the database stops at the person BEFORE this particular user. They're alphabetical, obviously, so everyone after this person are not listed at all - 13 total missing accounts.
The kicker is that the rest of us are still receiving e-mail normally!
Thoughts?!

Mac Xserve running 10.4.11
Dual 2GHz, and 2GB RAM
Keep in mind I am NOT a born tech person, have a mild to moderate comfort level with a command-line prompt, and no native intuition for any of this.

I'm the consultant that fixed MNX04's server, but it took several attempts.
the Cyrus reconstruct command failed to resolve the issue, and even removing the user using cyradm, and re-creating them in Workgroup manager didn't fix the problem.
Pterobyte's mailbfr utility did the trick: mailbfr -f, wait awhile for the repair to run, and all was well.
I'm grateful for all the help pterobyte has given to people on this forum, but it concerns me a little bit that the Cyrus utilities built in to OS X server can't fix this sort of problem. (However, this is the first time I've run into a problem with OS X mail servers that the Cyrus reconstruct command couldn't fix.)

Can't receive email using 10.3.9 and mail 1.3.11 (v622/623)

I can send but not receive email from my POP account using cable modem.
All settings appear correct. When I select "get mail," there are no warnings or dialog boxes and "fetching mail" and "traversing mail heirarchy" messages all seem to happen as before but then no mail appears. My wife can receive and send with her account on "her computer" setup (seperate user on this computer). I have checked all the mail help tips, compared settings with my wife's setup, deleted the suggested (on this discussion board) file that holds the downloaded mail data and emptied the trash, pinged (all ok), and checked the keychain (verified correct).
If I change to my .mac mail account, "get mail" works fine.
No problem accessing the faulty account via web mail.
Any other tips??

Your answer looks like it would work for me, but I wanted to know where you got the info. I want to be sure I do the right thing. Can you tell me where you found that out? Or is what you said in this post everything I need to know?
I'm periodically having the same problem downloading mail. I used to think it was MSN not working, but now I've noticed that when it happens MSN Messenger is operating and saying I have mail, (and I can access it via Safari on the hotmail site) but Mail 1.3.11 won't stay online, saying a read error of some sort when I try to get my mail. This used to happen only occasionally but is increasing to many times every day.

Using Database Control in JPDs - Best Practice

Hi,
I would like to know the best way of using DB control in a JPD
like.. which one is better.
a) Using a Control Send node in workshop and configuring it from the workshop design view as a separate node.
or
b) In a perform node call the method on the DB control object.
like..

Is there any disadvantages on approach b over approach a or any issues performance-wise.
I would like to know which is one is better.
