Problem receiving Google Voice forwarded calls

I've used a Google Voice phone no. for several years which forwards to my land line and also my cell phone with no issues.  Now, the calls still forward but it only rings once once on my land line and is immediately forwarded to my voice mail (I use the voice mail on my land phone, not Verizon voice mail).  Since the call is immediately forwarded to voice mail, it never rings on my cell phone but shows up as a missed call.

Ok let's have a look, but I have two questions first
Is your home phone service with Verizon?  If so, do you have your "Do Not Disturb" service activated?

  • Google Voice not working. Is the blame with enabling Advanced Calling?

Have any Verizon users had more than the usual amount of trouble setting up Google Voice for voicemail? I previously used Google Voice as my voicemail on my Galaxy Note 4, which required the standard workaround to get it working with Verizon (calling the three codes to setup call forwarding). I recently moved to an LG G3, however, and can't get Google Voice to work as my voicemail now. I have tried calling the three forwarding codes (*71+[Google Voice #], *90+[Google Voice #], *92+[Google Voice #]) but to no avail. I have also tried to get it working via setting up conditional call forwarding online in My Verizon.
After trying and retrying these methods, I will call my phone from another one, only to ignore the incoming call and have the phone I'm calling from either continue to ring or go silent (the latter seems to happen more often). If I do not end the call from the other phone, my phone will sometimes ring again, at which time I ignore the call again the line remains silent.
When I first setup my G3, an update enabling Verizon's Advanced Calling was available and didn't hesitate to follow through with the update. Therefore, it's hard pinpoint the exact problem.
Has anyone else with Verizon had this much difficulty in getting Google Voice to work? Please, help!

Same issue.  Google Voice does not work with VoLTE on some people's accounts.  Google says it's not them.  Verizon says it's not them.  There is no fix to this.  The only option you have is either dump Google Voice or dump VoLTE.  I did the later, but you have to do it on the phone and through the webpage and then set up Google Voice again.  From what I can gather from others, call forwarding through VoLTE is not working like it should on all accounts and causing Google Voice not to work.  Verizon is less than helpful on this issue.

  • Problem setting up google voice on mt Iphone 4S

Here is my problem, I really hope someone can help!
I'ven been trying to set up Google Voice to my Iphone 4S. I logged into my already exsiting Google account and clicked the link "Get a Voice number". I then chose to "I want a new number" and after searching, finding and accepting a number I'm asked to set up a Voicemail password and accept the Terms and Policys of Google. So far so good. Here is the problem....
The next step in the setup is to add a forwarding phone to the Google Voice. I added my Iphone number (AT&T) and clicked "Continue". I'm now given a two digit vertification code that I'm suppose to enter when Goggle voice call me (the number I entered as a forwarding phone) to varify the number is actually mine. When it does, I enter the code but nothing! The computer voice responds "I'm sorry I didn't catch that". It does this three time before disconnecting.
By now I have tried everything and this is my last hope. I have talk to AT&T, Apple Support and no one could help me. I tried various things posted on the internet but nothing seems to work. There must be people with Iphone 4S that uses Google Voice. Please help me!
    Thanks

The verifying message can take longer than usual as it needs to obviously verify.
Sometimes the program can become way-layed and stop working.
A few suggestions i have to make would be:
Click the home button twice, hold down the apps until they shake, and delete the mail and settings applications open.
Then reload the email and try and verify again.
Another suggestion would be to hard reset the phone, which would involve holding the home button and the lock button together which evidently crashes the phone.
That could refresh the data and allow you to access your email.
Similiarly you could set up another email address using the same email operator and see if that works.
If it doesnt, it might be worth trying a different email address e.g. Trying googlemail or hotmail.
Not sure how you set up your email account but try either of these methods.
Go onto settings > Email, contacts and calanders > add account > Choose your email type > enter username and password.
The other way would be to go into the mail app and set your email address and password through that.
If all else fails, try downloading a 3rd party application which can run your email account.
e.g. I have a Googlemail 3rd party application which i find is more accessibly friendly.
    Best of luck.

  • Can i get help on how I can successfully install the new google voice video chat software. I keep having an install error. My google voice phone always worked until a week ago when suddenly google would not let me call out from any browser

Can i get help on how I can successfully install the new google voice video chat software. I keep having an install error. My google voice phone always worked until a week ago when suddenly google would not let me call out from any browser until I installed their new google voice and video chat (made by vidyo) software. I was told by genius bar to install Yosemite, which I did. But that did not solve the problem. I removed macKeeper, as well, since a techie friend told me that could be the cause. Nothing so far has worked.  When the problem first happened, it seemed to only happen in Chrome. Google voice calling out worked fine in safari, for about a day or so. Now I cannot call out from any browser. I can, however receive calls, and make calls within the video hangout.
I can be contacted directly if questions at gary at couplewise dot followed by the usual extensin

You can only suspend service for 3 months at a time (with or without payment) and only twice a year.

  • On my iPhone 4, people cant hear me when I make and / or receive normal (GSM) phone calls. But when on calls using internet based / native apps like viber or skype, people can hear me just fine. Voice memos work too and have already tried different SIMs

On my iPhone 4, people cant hear me when I make and / or receive normal (GSM) phone calls. But when I make/receive calls using internet-based / native apps like viber or skype, people can hear me just fine. I have tried recording my voice using voice memos - this works. And have already tried different SIM cards but the problem persists.
I have taken my phone to an authorized Apple service center, where they restored my phone to factory settings, but still facing the same issue. They service center directed me to Apple Customer Care Hotline, where I have now spent 3+ hours explaining my issue and yet no one can resolve it. The easy answer if to replace the phone - and since it is out of warranty, I am expected to pay for it.
Additionally, the customer service has been so rude and confrontational that it has completely changed my view of Apple and its customer focus. I am a disappointed and angry customer today - people would be surprised to hear just how rude customer service was including making statements such as "Apple doesnt make infallible products, that's why warranty is needed for our products" and that "every product undergoes a problem at some stage, so do ours!" There goes whatever confidence I had...
My concern is simple - if no one at Apple and / or its CS hotline is able to address my issue comprhensively and keep telling me that they have never encountered a precedent before, then with what right can they expect me to pay for a replacement?! I am NOT here to fund Apple's research into their product faults and manufacturing.
And even though a customer is out of warranty, is it too much to expect an Apple product to work well for at least a 'reasonable' period of time. My phone is less than 18 months old and has been facing this issue for the past 2 months - surely the longevity of Apple products is more than 18 months!
Just a sad sad day for an Apple customer, compounded by unjustifiably rude and aggressive staff. And still no resolution to my problem.

I am having the same issue - with my last 2 iPhone 4's. My first handset each time I was on a call wether it was up to my ear or on loud speaker, the call would automatically mute even though the mute button wouldn't show up as highlighted. Pressing the mute button on and off during the call doesn't fix it either. I rang Apple and asked what some of their trouble shooting solutions were. I got told that it might be a software issue and to install the latest software update. This failed. I then got told to uninstall the software on the phone and do a complete restore. This also failed. After trying the troubleshooting suggestions, I took the phone into my provider and they sent me out a new phone within a week under warranty claiming it was a hardware issue and probably just a "glitch" with that particular phone. This was not the case....
After receiving my second iPhone 4, I was hopeful that it would work. For the first couple of days, making/receiving calls was not an issue. Until after about a week, the same problem started again. In one instance I had to hang up and call back 4 times and the call would still automatically mute after about 5 seconds. Also on the second handset, the main camera located on the back of the phone has red and blue lines running through it and can't take a decent picture. So back to the store I go to get another replacement - Again.
For a phone that is rated highly and as a keen Apple product purchaser, I am a bit disappointed with the experience I have had with the iPhone 4. Let's hope they find a fix sometime soon because this is becoming a bit beyond a joke.....!!

  • Google Voice integration problem

    Greetings,
I wanted to see if we could get a response from Verizon on this issue of Google Voice not correctly integrating with the Thunderbolt.  I've noticed two main issues with GV for Thunderbolt.
When trying to go through the steps to set up voicemail, using the Android method of sending the text message from the phone does NOT work.  You must instead set up the phone on the Google voice website, then do the *71XXX-XXX-XXXX (the X being your area code and phone number) in order for voicemail to be set up.
When dialing a number using the keypad, it will display the google voice local trunk number instead of the number you called.  When dialing a contact, it will show the contact name, but it will display the city in which the Google Voice trunk number resides.
HTC/Verizon/Google need to figure this out as it is an integral component to making Android and Google Voice work well together.
    Thanks!
    GB

Perhaps I haven't explained the situation properly.  I agree, number one isn't an issue, as there is a solid workaround, even though it doesn't properaly allow users to set up voicemail.  For number 2, it is a real problem that is NOT evident in any of the other Android devices I have tried.  I have tried Google Voice integration with the OG Droid, Facsinate, Inspire, Droid 2, Atrix and the Thunderblot.  The Thunderbolt is the only one that exhibits this issue.  Usually when you dial a number on Android, it will bring up the little bubble window on top with the Google Trunk number and then show the number or contact you were calling once the bubble disappears.  The Thunderbolt, while it brings up the bubble window with the Trunk number, it still shows the Trunk number after the bubble disappears in the dialer.  This does NOT occur in any of the other devices I have tested.  It is a bug.

  • IPhone Google Voice greeting problem

I use Google Voice for certain business calls.  It has a different greeting from my personal greeting.  However, GV is intercepting all messages with the GV greeting, even when my personal number is called.  Any suggestions for a remedy, please?

    Hello.
I'm not sure if your problem has been fixed yet, but I had the same problem until today.
I turned on Hearing Aid Mode in Settings / General / Accessibility / Hearing Aids.
Seemed to fix the problem for me.   Hope it helps you.

  • Anyone else have problems receiving phone calls?

My phone is a Chicago area code I received from Sprint in 2000.  When I moved to the NYC area in 2006 I stayed with Sprint.  Then in 2012, I switched to Verizon because I was no longer in a Sprint 4G area and didn't want to pay for 4G if I wasn't getting it.  It is important to note that I NEVER had a problem with Sprint voice.  My number was ported over to Verizon...and that's when the problems began:
    1.  I get phone calls (~60% of the time from my Chicago area code) and can't answer them (I see them ringing through but can't pick up).
    2.  I get voice mails magically appearing with no notice of a missed call.
    3.  I sometimes don't even get voice mails or notices of missed calls (my grandmother thought I was ignoring her!)
The issues happen everywhere - at work, at home, in other areas of the country - it doesn't matter.  Verizon has replaced my phone 3 times, my SIM card 2 or 3 times - it's clearly NOT the phone.  I do NOT want to change my phone number - I move so much it's the only number folks know!
I had a trouble ticket put in with the technical service folks over a month ago...and still no resolution because everyone I speak to over there has a different understanding of what the problem is - and they don't communicate with each other.
I am incredibly frustrated and angry with my service and am ready to switch back to Sprint...but I don't want to because I'm in love with their data service.
Has anyone else encountered these issues at all?  And if so, what have you had done about it?
    Sharon

    Sheritah,
    Thank you for reaching out!!!
I've copied your questions into my reply and have answered each question individually.
Have you reached to our technical support team about your concerns with the network ticket?
Yes, I did reach out but was given the blow-off.  I was told they'd reopen the trouble ticket, but I haven't heard from them since, even after emailing the guy who told me I'd be his contact.
What exact issue are you having?
    1.  People call me and I can't answer the phone.  I swipe the screen (as is normal) but the call is automatically dropped.
    2.  People call me and the phone doesn't ring or show any indication that there is an incoming call - but I get the "missed call" notification after the person has hung up or left a voice mail.
    3.  People call me, the phone doesn't ring and there is no "missed call" - but I get I voice mail.
    4.  Sometimes voice mails arrive days later.
    Where are you located?
I reside in 08872 and work in 08807, but the problem is not limited to these two zip codes and will become incredibly angry if the suggestion is made otherwise...I am a broken record, incredibly frustrated and no one wants to believe what I say as the truth.  The last time I dealt with the guys on the end of the trouble ticket they INSISTED that I only have these problems at home and work...that's just ********. (sorry for the bad language )
Here are some places this has occurred on more than one occasion:
    1.  08872 - current home (NJ)
    2.  08807 - current work (NJ)
    3.  07601 - friend's home (NJ)
    4.  07050 - previous home (NJ)
    5.  11572 - husband's home (NY)
    6.  11422 - husband's work (NY)
    7.  60091 - parent's home (IL)
    8.  94568 - work trip location (CA)
In terms of frequency, it happens at least once per week.
I never had these problems with Sprint - I was with them for 10 years.  I switch to Verizon because of the great data (and it IS great data) and then suddenly I have all these voice issues.  You should know I am not a technophobe and I certainly know when the volume is up/down or when the phone is powered on/off.  I've been using smartphones for 10 years.
    Please help.

  • Not receiving some texts from a ported google voice #

my google voice # was ported over to my droid x2 phone and i am recieving calls just fine but i am not getting any type of text messages from friends. where are they going and how do i get them to come over to me?

Do you mean that your ported your Verizon Wireless number to Google Voice? If so, it may take a few days for the port to complete and text routing to happen correctly.  If you still aren't getting messages after a few days, you'll want to contact Google and Verizon to make sure the port happened properly.  The messages MAY be showing up in your online Google account, and you could view them there, but it's not likely until the routing is corrected.
Or just that you directed your Google Voice number to ring on your Droid X2?  If so, you need to set up an application on your phone to recieve the messages.  Do you have the Google Voice app on your phone?  You should be able to read the messages in your online Google Voice account, and find instructions there to set it up on your phone.

  • Possible to make calls with Google Voice account through iChat?

I have a Google Voice account (have for a while now), which allows me to make calls through VOIP. I've recently lost phone service and have noticed that an option when making calls in Google Voice is through Google Chat.
Now, I can never get Google Chat to work on my Macbook, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get it to work with iChat.
I have signed into my Google account through iChat, but when I make calls in Google Voice and I select to call through Google Chat, it says "Calling You" like it would if I were using my phone as the proxy, but it doesn't do anything.

I think I figured out how I want to do this.
For others in similar situations (this is assuming you HAVE a Google Voice account, which they don't give out anymore, AFAIK), go to http://www.google.com/talk/ and download the plug-in on the left. Install it, then open up your gmail in browser. On the left side, there will be a section that can let you make calls directly from your computer. SUCCESS!!

  • Endless forward calls problem

    Hi,
              I am using WLS6.1 SP2 + Apache.
I'm getting in a servlet a request that the sessionid is in the parameter.
              /servlet/Foo?sessionid=1234&param=abc
The Foo servlet is checking in the beginning of its service() if the
seesionid paramater exists. If it exists, it forwards
the request to the same servlet, where the sessionid is encoded in the url.
              /servlet/Foo;sessionid=1234?param=abc
The result I got is endless request calls until the server dies.
It seems to me that the sessionid parameter is found in the forward requests
even though the url I used for the forward call does not.
This feature work fine on Tomcat and iPlanet... I have the problem only on
              WLS.
Does anyone know why I got this behavior and how to prevent it ?
              Thanks,
              Eyal.

i dont think you can modify the request parameter string when you do a
              forward
So even though you think you are changing the request, the servlet still
sees the original request and hence the endless loop? Perhaps you could
output the query string in the service method or something?
If you want to change the query string then i think you may need to use
              sendRedirect()
I cant quite remember but you may be able to get the desired results by
using a filter. You may be able to modify the query string before the
servlet sees it if you do it in a filter? Not sure.

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.
