Problem recreate OWA Exchange 2007 (no solution found in these forums before posting)

Hello,
    I am trying to recreate the owa virtual directory, from a powershell (Windows 2008 SP2 + Exchange 2007 SP3)
    A error occurs within powershell after writing this: "remove-owavirtualdirectory "owa <default web site>" "
    This is the error message: "can't found the object "owa<Default Web Site>" in the domain controller dc1.domain.com"
    The directory exists both in the IIS 7 console , in ADSIEdit and when I write in my powershell "get-OwaVirtualDirectory".
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Please check it in ADSIEdit again.
Configuration-->CN=Services-->CN=Microsoft Exchange-->CN=Your Organization-->CN=Administrative Groups-->CN=Exchange Administrative Groups-->CN=Servers-->CN=Exchange CAS
Server-->CN=Protocols-->CN=HTTP. In the right pane, please check whether the CN=owa (Default Web Site) is
present.
Please use dcdiag /test:replications command-line tool to check DC replication.
Please use ping command-line tool to check if your exchange server can communicate with DC server.

I already did so (ADSIEdit) and OWA is there.
Of course, I tried "ping" , I mean, the basic troubleshooting is done.
As for "Please use dcdiag /test:replications command-line tool to check DC replication." , I don't see the use of testing Active directory replications for this OWA issue.
Thanks a lot for your kind reply.

  • Exchange 2007: user not found

    Hi all,
    I have a very strange problem..... I've been using Sun IDM 8.0 for quite some time now to manage Users in an exchange 2007 environment, without major issues. Now I finally got a new, improved test-environment, which includes a test-active-directory and a test exchange 2007 installation. Just two servers, probably the smallest possible configuration.
    Now, everything works fine when I stick to the regular exchange 2007 management-tools, but it just won't work when using sun idm. :-(
    I can create and modify activedirectory accounts without any issues, but when setting "recipient type" to UserMailbox, the operation suceeds but no mailbox is created. I activated tracing in the gateway and there is "getRecipientType: user not found" messages, which I suppose are related to my issue.
    I definitly run the same idm-configuration in my production-environment without any issues. My exchange-admin claims that the exchange-environment has no differences either. I tried to run the gateway both on the domain controler and the exchange 2007 server, but found no difference.
    Sadly, I'm running out of ideas..... :-(
    Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    CU,
    Patrick.

    Problem was caused by 32-bit-gw on 64-bit-platform. Strange error-message, though.

  • Email sync problem treo on exchange 2007

    i am running a palm treo pro. it worked fine on my company exchange server for months. my company recently upgraded to an 'exchange 2007' server. since then, my emails will not send out. while they appear to transmit (and even sit in the outbox for a second) they do not actually arrive. if i hit send/receive they will sometimes go but will not automatically go if i am in the 'push' mode....the device is also very slow in grabbing emails but they typically do arrive.
    contacts, calendar continue to sync fine. i can connect to the internet witout problem too.
    it is mainly an issue with emails.
    palm even replaced my device and i have basically the same problem.
    (i notice that when i am looking at the outlook email page the message at lower left says 'error' during sync process, but then it recovers and the activesync log says it synced successfully.)
    any ideas? my company techs cannot come up with a solution.
    Post relates to: Treo Pro T850U (Unlocked)

    thanks for your suggestion but obviously yes i have deleted the account. (in fact i have even changed the device.)
    i have tried it in what seems to me every possible combination of (with contacts, without contacts; with calendar sycn, without it; with other items on the device, with all of the other programs and files deleted back to factory settings; etc etc etc).
    the problem is the same: on activesync push email, sent emails disappear (never arrive) and new ones are very slow to arrive into the inbox.

    I have mail.app working and my iPhone 3G syncing to this service perfectly. In address book i have "http://win.alol.net.br/exchange/b.maskell" entered as my outlook web access server. Yet when I sync nothing syncs! I get no error message either. As far as ical is concerned, I have no idea where to even begin.
    If anyone has any clue as to how to fix this with Address Book and iCal that would be much appreciated....
    thanks, bradley

    Apple Mail and address book only really work well with Exchange 2003. This is a known issue and you really should be using Outlook in Parallels or Entourage for full Exchange support. This will be corrected with Snow Leopard supposedly.

  • This is for Exchange 2007 but can't find a place to post it. It may apply here I don't know. What exactly happens when you suspend LCR?

    OK. I searched out here and found things close to what I need: how to suspend and restore LCR but I need another answer. I have gotten a new backup solution (Unitrends) and the Microsoft exchange write appears twice. I'm guessing one is for my first storage
    group and one is for LCR. Anyway it appears the software is trying to use the replication writer which is causing my backups to fail. Here is my question: what EXACTLY happens when I suspend the LCR (Suspend Storage Group Copy)? Does this affect regular exchange/email
    transport and receiving at all? Basically if I disable it will mail continue to flow as normal with no adverse affects? And what EXACTLY happens when I disable LCR. What if I decide I don't need it. Will disabling it affect normal email operations? Basically
    will either of these options in ANY way interfere with normal mail flow? Thanks.

    Hi,
    Based on my knowledge, suspending LCR doesn't affect the mail flow. If there is no need for LCR, you can disable LCR, and then please manually delete the LCR storage group and databaase fles.
    For more information about LCR, please refer to
    Local Continuous Replication.

  • I have followed all the steps to fix this problem, but I do not receive texts on my new Galaxy 4 from iPhone users.  I tried everything I was told and found in these forums.  Still no luck.

    I switched to Verizon in March 2014, from AT&T.  I traded in my old iPhone4 for a Galaxy 4.  Ever since, I am not getting text messages from anyone who has an iPhone unless they WORK for Verizon.  I have deleted my phone from my apple profile and I don't own any other apple products.  I switched to an Android because I was tired of Apple's proprietary ways.  It seems not matter what I do, and I have done EVERYTHING suggested here on these forums.  No luck. I am so frustrated.  I have a very large family and almost everyone else has an iPhone.  Even if they don't, I am not getting all their messages.  I like the new Galaxy, but believe I have made a huge mistake switching carriers and phones, even though I hate Apple products.

        Welcome to the Verizon family irishlass82! I know how important it is to stay in touch and we'll make sure that you don't regret your decision! Before trading in your device, did you turn off iMessage? In effort to correct this issue, text the word STOP to 48369.

  • Exchange 2007 SP3 Search Problems

    I reset all the search indices on my mailbox databases. Event viewer has told me the crawl is complete and everything checks out when I do “test-exchangeSearch”
    from PS. However, the index folders are considerably smaller than the original ones, (1.3GB vs 7GB) and only about 1% of database size. Multiple users can prove to me that searches are incomplete and not returning reliable results when just doing basic folder
    searches from Outlook 2007. help!
    Ian

    After speaking with a senior MS Engineer, if you already have SP3 applied and tried to reinstall the search as I outlined above, you have corrupt your Exchange install and the ONLY option is to rebuild the box. After reinstalling Windows and Exchange, the
    proper procedure to get search working perfectly is outlined below:
    4. If you haven’t already,
    upgrade toExchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3.
    Exchange 2007 SP3 includes several major Search-related fixes and upgrades MSSearch 3.0 to MSSearch 3.1.  This is a highly significant
    upgrade.
    5. Update to the latest available Rollup Update.
    There are some very significant search fixes in the Rollup Updates for Exchange 2007 SP3. Some of these fixes are absolutely essential to install.
    For example, Exchange 2007 SP3 Rollup Update 2 includes a fix that allows Exchange server to index emails even when the attachment cannot
    be parsed – this is the number one call generator for Exchange 2007 search support cases.
    To restate, upgrade to the very latest available Exchange 2007 SP3 rollup update, as there are many more search fixes available in the latest
    rollup updates.
    6.
    Install IFilters and register them – follow ALL the steps below.
    Install Filter Pack 1.0, which allows Exchange 2007 to index Office 2007 documents:
    2007 Office System Converter: Microsoft Filter Pack
    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=20109
    7. Install the hotfix which addresses a known issue when search crawls a .vsd file.
    960502 Description of the 2007 Office system hotfix package (Offfiltx.msp, Visfilter.msp): December 16, 2008

    Additional Information on the hotfix:

    Pack: "The filtering process has been terminated"
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;960166
    8.
    Register the Filter Pack 1.0 IFilters. This is a manual process with Exchange 2007 but we have created a script to automate the process.:

    9. Install Filter Pack 2.0 which allows Exchange to index Office 2010 attachments as well as some additional file types.

    11. Disable signature verification for the Exchange 2007 search services by putting 127.0.0.1 crl.microsoft.com in the HOSTS file.
    Certificate Revocation List
    When the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 loads a managed assembly, the managed assembly calls the CryptoAPI function to verify the Authenticode signature
    on the assembly files. The CryptoAPI function checks a Certificate Revocation List
    (CRL) that is available at http://crl.microsoft.com
    . This action requires an Internet connection.
    The
    Microsoft Search Indexer service (Microsoft.Exchange.Search.ExSearch.exe)
    is a managed assembly that is loaded by Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. After installing Exchange 2007 SP3, if the Exchange server or DNS cannot resolve
    http://crl.microsoft.com for any reason
    the outgoing HTTP requests may be dropped and an error message is not returned. This delay causes the CRL to time out and cached CRLs will expire. This affects the Microsoft Search Indexer service in such a way that any new email fails to be indexed.
    Instructions to Modify HOSTS file on the Exchange 2007 Server
    Add the following:
    127.0.0.1 crl.microsoft.com – here are the instructions:
    a. Go Start – Programs and choose Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator.
    b. Within the Command Prompt, change to this directory (the drive will be the one where you installed the OS):
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
    c. Add the following entry to the HOSTS file:
    127.0.0.1 crl.microsoft.com
    d. Save the HOSTS file.
    13.
    Rebuild Indexes
    using ResetSearchIndexes.ps1
    How to Rebuild the Full-Text Index Catalog
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995966(EXCHG.80).aspx
    a. Go Start – Programs and choose Exchange Management Shell and choose Run as Administrator.
    b. Change to this directory (the drive will be the one where you installed Exchange 2007):
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts
    c. It is suggested that you rebuild indexes for one or a few databases at a time – use the following command to rebuild the indexes for 1
    databases called dbname1 and dbname2:
    .\ResetSearchIndex.ps1 –force dbname1 dbname2
    d. It is suggested not to run the following command unless you have 1 Exchange 2007 server only in your environment because it will cause
    all databases on all Exchange 2007 (and all Exchange 2010 servers, if there are any) to be reindexed at that same time:
    .\ResetSearchIndex.ps1 –force all
    14.
    Monitor the Application Event Log for Event ID 110 for a particular database.
    This will indicate the new index is complete for that database.
    15. After receiving Event ID 110 for a database, check to see if the size of the CatalogData folder for that database is the expected
    5% to 10% of the database size. If the size of the CatalogData folder is significantly smaller than that or if the size is a few kb or a few mb, go
    to Step 17.
    16. After you have received Event ID 110 and the size of the CatalogData folder is normal, test searching in Outlook online mode
    and OWA to make sure search is working.

  • Exchange 2007 and 2013 coexistance Problem

    We are in the process to migrate our current Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
    Our environment is as follows:
    HT01= Hub CAS Server (Exchange 2007)
    MB1, MB2 = Mailbox CCR Cluster (Exchange 2007)
    CAS1= CAS Server (Exchange 2013)
    MBNew1, MBNew2 = Mailbox Servers (Exchange 2013)
    Emails for users that are on Exchange 2007 can send and receive external emails. But they cannot send emails to users that are on Exchange 2013.
    Users on Exchange 2013 can send/receive externally, send to Exchange 2007 users, but cannot receive emails from Exchange 2007 Users.

    Please point your autodiscover and commonname to Exchange2013 CAS
    Please configure your URLs. There is no CAS array in Exchange2013 but the concept of single name space remains.
    You need to have an A record (e.g. legacy.domain.com) in yout external DNS and add that name (legacy.domain.com) in your certificate for exchange 2007 users to have access externally.
    Configure your commonname URLs in Exchange2013. Point commonname and autodiscover to exchange2013 in both external and internal DNS servers

  • Uninstalling Exchange 2007 - Folder Replicas Error

    I'm trying to remove Exchange 2007 which I was testing using our development system but have come across some errors during the uninstall process.
    The error message I receive is something like this: Error: Uninstall cannot continue. Database "Public Folder Database": The public folder database "SERVER\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database" contains folder replicas...
    Now unfortunately i'm a) no exchange expert (i'm a .NET dev) and b) we dont use exchange for email - so I cant move folders to an alternative location.
    All I want to do is remove the software without bringing the network down again (I didn't realise removing a mailbox from exchange 07 removed the user account as well!).
    Thanks for your help,
    Matt

    Run the Get-PublicFolderStatistics cmdlet using the Exchange Management Shell and examine the output.  If the folders listed are no longer required, you can remove them by piping the results of the Get-PublicFolderStatistics cmdlet into the Remove-PublicFolder
    cmdlet:
    Get-PublicFolderStatistics | Remove-PublicFolder
    Once you've done this, re-run Get-PublicFolderStatistics and when no results are returned, you should find that this particular issue no longer prevents the uninstall of Exchange 2007.
    I know this is an old post but I am at wits end....
    This doesnt work for me, just get all of these errors

    Hi,
    we have exchange 2007 and 2013 coexistence. we have created a new url for 2007 legacy servers. Now, when using OWA url (now set for exchange 2013 server)  i am getting OWA exchange 2007 login page for exchange 2007 mailboxs.

  • Exchange 2007 Renew Certificate via IIS Manager

    I am currently in the process of renewing the Exchange 2007 certs and have searched through forums in regards to this topic and can't seem to come across a proper answer. Is it possible to renew the Exchange 2007 cert using the IIS Manager or is Powershell
    the only way of doing so? Under the "IIS Manager > expanding server name > expand websites > default website properties > Directory Security > Server Certificate" you are presented with the option to renew the existing cert. This to
    me seems a lot easier than using shell to request a whole new cert. I am not a fan of the how Powershell can be a bit destructive when requesting a new cert and overwriting the existing one leaving your little ways of backing out if something goes wrong. Can
    someone confirm if using IIS manager is a viable way of renewing the Exchange 2007 cert. I prefer to keep the exact settings of the existing certificates.
    Thank you,
    Emmanuel
    Emmanuel Fumero Exchange Administrator

    Hi
    Yes its possible in Exchange  2010 through EMC . Not sure if this works in Exchange 2007 since i haven't tried renewing through GUI in exchange 2007 and currently do not have any customers running e2k7 to check this option. Probably you can give it
    a try in Exchange 2007 and see if these options are visible. Please check the following,
    When you right-click your Exchange Server, you can select New Exchange Certificate, which will launch the New Exchange Certificate Wizard.
    After defining a friendly name, you are ready to provide all needed information:
    After clicking Finish, you will have a certificate request that you can use ti get a certificate from your own CA, or from an external CA. The Exchange Management Console will show the request as well
    1.Start the Exchange Management Shell. Click Start > Programs > Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and then click Exchange Management Console.
    2.Click the link to "Manage Databases", and then go to "Server configuration".
    3.Select your certificate from the menu in the center of the screen (The certificate will be listed by the Friendly Name you chose when creating the CSR), and then click the link in the Actions menu to "Complete Pending Request".
    4.Browse to the certificate file you just copied to your server, then click Open > Complete.
    URGENT!! You may receive the following error: "The source data is corrupted or not properly Base64 encoded." You can ignore this error
    5.Press F5 to refresh the certificate list. Verify that it says "False" under "Self Signed".( if its 3rd party or feom CA)
    6.To enable your certificate, return to the Exchange Management Console and click the link to "Assign Services to Certificate."
    Hope this helps

  • OWA functionality in Exchange 2007 coexistance with 2013

    I have conexistance environment with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. Out of about 1200 users we have 25 test users in the 2013 environment. The problem we are seeing is when a 2013 mailbox has "Full Access" to a 2007 mailbox and tries to connect
    to that mailbox through OWA 2013 the connection always fail. I can attach the mailbox in Outlook with no problems but cannot open that mailbox through OWA 2013. Any thought?

    See if this helps.  It's not an exact match for your versions, but I think it's what you need to look at.

    We've been using the cfexchangecalendar tag for some time to post calendar events on behalf of our users.  It stopped working.  No events were being added and no error messages were reported.  There was some mention "around the net"
    that WebDav was no longer supported.  But it was verified that Intermedia was still supporting WebDav on their Exchange 2007 server.  They've been pretty good about helping debug this problem until it came to CF.  Adobe is just so-so about helping
    and also stop short of Exchange support.  The only thing I know to do is just keep asking the question until someone is curious enough to jump in and ask me the right questions.
    The following is the CF code I use;
    <cfexchangecalendar action="create"
        username="exch016\user_name"
        password="password"
    mailboxName="exch016\user_name"
        server="owa016.msoutlookonline.net/owa"
    protocol="https"
    port="443"
        event="#sEvent#"
        result="theUID">
    This code is supposed to insert a calendar event for "user_name".
    I get various error messages from 401, 440, and even a 501.  I also get some verbose messages (depending on how I set up debugging) stating the was an error connecting with HTTP/HTTPS or verify the server, user name, and password.
    I've tried http/port 80 and https/port 443.  The code was set to use http/80 when it was working, but Intermedia tells me that they only accept https/443.
    I can login using the browser and see all my users, etc.  I can use the cfhttp tag and get to the server and it returns a login page.
    I checked the certificates on my server and found a duplicate and deleted it.
    I am willing to try anything to provide any information someone might need to make this problem more clear.
    What I don't need is a link to an Adobe/Coldfusion info page or generic Exchange info.  If you can't help, you can't help.

    Are you getting any NDR? Post it.
    Cheers,
