Problem Referencing a Package in an 11g DB From Forms 6i
Hello everybody,
I have recently updated a database from 8i to 11g. This DB is used alongside with a program that it has been created with Forms-Reports Developer 6i. Even though the overall performance and usage of the program seems intact I came upon a problem that I cannot solve.
In a form there is a reference to a package of the database that doesn't work anymore. For example something like PackageName.ProcedureName(Parameter1,Parameter2) gives the following error:
"PDE-PSD001 Could not resolve reference to <Unknown Program Unit> while loading Procedure Body [..]"
I have checked the name and spelling of the package in my Db and in the form call but that didn't seem to work. The package compiles inside the DB and has no problem but the form refuses to reference it. When I connect to the old 8i DB it works fine. I have tried recreating the package in 11g from scratch but with no success.
Any ideas?Any help would me much appreciated...

I hope yours is not a production environment (yet).... did you check MOS doc ID 207303.1 Client / Server / Interoperability Support Between Different Oracle Versions before upgrading your database ?
Forms 6i is an 8.0.6 version, which has never been supported for 11g database. Which, as always, doesn't mean it won't ever work, it may work 99% of the cases, then you run into a situation like yours......

Problem with IN OUT parameters whiloe calling procedure from Form 6i

Could some help please? I have the following scenario.
I am calling a stored procedure from form 6i by pressing a button on the form. Procedure has two IN OUT parameters, and I am passing these two IN OUT parameters and have declared them the way they are declared passed to the procedure. But I get an error when calling that procedure with these IN OUT parameters. the procedure works fine if parameters are IN only. The error says:
PLS:00363: Expression '1' cannot be used as an assigment target.
NO matter I pass some value or leave it blank, I get the same error message persistenetly.
Please help.

Does your report work when it is not called from Forms?
try the following:
[TOOLS_HOME]\BIN\RWRUN60 module=ASUNTOS destype=screen userid=<username>/<password>@<tns> ABOGADO=<some_valid_code>
where TOOLS_HOME is the directory where Reports is installed.
I can see nothing wrong with your code.
Maybe some error in the query?
Also, I would check for the existence of multiple ASUNTOS report definitions. Maybe Forms is calling an older one.

Cannot load a library unit database_object ( referenced by package name )
Dear Friends,
I am using Plls in Reports 6i. In One of the Pll I am Using
Backend Table in package body. I have two 8i instances. when I
comiple and save and close this plls with one instance( say
instance "A" ), its fine. it is done sucessfully. Now i am
connecting to other instance ( say instance "B" ) and open that
same pll. it is showing compilation error "Cannot load a library
unit <my_table> ( referenced by <package name> )". Now I compile
and save and close with instance "B". it is done sucessfully.
Again I am connecting to Instance "A" and open that same PLL. It
is showing same Error "Cannot load a library unit <my_table> (
referenced by <package name> )"
Anybody can tell me , How to get rid of this Problem. I dont
know its a BUG or somthing else.
I am using Window2000 as OS.

Ashish ParikhIf a Schema has some objects in it, then you cannot drop that Schema until you remove all the objects out of it. You can change the schema owner
to another database principal and drop the user like,
Alter Authorization ON Schema::username TO DBO; Drop User username;
other option would be
Transfer the username schema objects to a different schema and drop username schema and user like.
Alter Schema DBO Transfer Username.[OBEJECTNAME] ;
--need to repeat this until you transfer all objects under this schema
Drop Schema username;
Drop User username;

Using ant to build and deploy plsql packages to a 11g wls.
Hi all,
Not sure is this is the right place, but I found a few other threads in this forum regarding plsql and ant, so I'll try this one.
My firm is moving from 10g ADF applcations to 11g SOA applications. When I'm not busy being lost in the whole new SOA world, I also have the pleasure of building our ant scripts. :-)
It has been years since I looked at the deploy scripts I made for 10g, so I'm a bit rusty.
I used wsassemble in our old scripts and I used http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_05/web.1013/b14434/wsassemble.htm as a reference. But I can't seem to find the same documentation for 11g? I tried http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/index.htm but it doesn't seem to have anything about plsqlAssemble, genInterface, genproxy etc. for 11g wls servers? I also tried google a while to no avail.
For example, I'm having problems setting the values for the ant-oracle.properties.
So can someone please throw some links my way, so I can read how to build and deploy plsql packages to a 11g wls server using ant? Thanks!

I am currently creating the webservice using webservices assembler from 10g/OC4j, then using the SmartUpgrade tool to re-engineer the webservice for deployment to 11g

Problem using ojdbc14.jar in JDev 11g

I have an application created in 10g.
I was trying to create the same in 11g and encountered this problem with the ojdbc14.jar.
The jar has two classes OracleDataSource and OracleConnectionCacheImpl inside the same package.
OracleConnectionCacheImpl is inherited from OracleDataSource.
OracleDataSource has a protected variable called m_dataSourceName.
The child class, OracleConnectionCacheImpl used this variable.
I have this jar included in my classpath.
When i run the application, it throws a runtime error.

I have checked the Oracle JDBC library of JDev 11g and found that it has ojdbc6.jar
Is there any compatibility problem with this jar migrating from 10g to 11g?

ThanksI guess you can't use ojdbc14.jar that easy. Some dependencies form ojdbc14.jar are not available under 11g. That 's the reason you have ojdbc6.jar under 11g.

try saving your fla and the published files to a new directory and see if the error resolves. -

Store) instance on my SQL Server and tried to create a job that would run them from there.
At first I read around about needing a proxy account to allow the agent/packages to access the file system since these packages are importing data from a flat file in the SQL database. So I created a temporary admin user to
use as the user for the agent. I did this by going to Services.msc on the server and linked the account the agent's "logon as". Then arose another issue where I am getting an error about using the incorrect type for my connection managers.
The connection manager "TestFile" is an incorrect type. The type required is "OLEDB". The type available to the component is "FLATFILE". Source: Data Flow Task Flat File Destination [2] Description:

Now, assume that you want to use packages MyPack1 and MyPack2. The source files of classes belonging to MyPack1 must:
- start with command
package MyPack1;
- be located all in the directory MyPack1
(and the same for MyPack2, of course)
If you want to use MyPack1 within MyPack2, you have to include:
import MyPack1.*;
even though MyPack1 is, in fact, located on path: ../MyPack1/*

MaxDB does not have packages like you'll find them in Oracle.
But you can define your own functions and procedures.
From the code-example you posted, I would say that a procedure will do it ...
I suggest that you first read the documentation on procedures [CREATE DBPROC Statement|http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_6/a7/41ee11605911d3a98800a0c9449261/frameset.htm]
There you'll also find an example in the Tutorial section.
Be aware that the procedural capabilities of MaxDB are far less enlarged as in Oracle - but they do exist and work in their realm.
So porting a full PL/SQL application layer to MaxDB procedures may turn out to be quite difficult and/or not the best choice at all.

Problem with info package :Type variables in dataselection tab

i am facing a problem with the info package where, instead of date 'from and to' values if i am providing a Variable, info package is not loading data and the request status flag is in yellow for a long time though the no of records are less.
the same is working fine if i am providing values for from to to values in the 'data selection' Tab.
the field i am giving input is date field,i'm converting date into char format and giving the input in the same format.info package will not work if i provide '0' or '7' as the variable values.
anybody having any ideas, that would be help ful.

After the Business Packages were installed,found that some ess apps where not deployed...so manually deployed it.

Problem installing a package from AUR
I'm not expecting anyone to install this package just to try and answer my question but,,
I have /home on a 10 gig space ext3 and it's only 2% full.
When I try and install doom3-phantasm, the package downloads, builds and when it's time to install a window says not enough space to install.
No way this single game is over 9.5 gigs.
I'm not even seeing where it's trying to install to.
Is this a problem with the package build or am I not seeing something?I wrote the pkgbuild, so I've got it installed

Alternatively, take a look in the "pkg" directory of where you built it, or just examine the .pkg.tar.gz installation file.

Although you're getting a different error message, perhaps try the procedure from the following user tip:
"The administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" error messages when installing iTunes for Windows on Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems
