Problem regional formats setting

Hi all,
in my Dashboard I am using the SDK KPI Tile to show some values (but this problem occurs in others components too).
In the initial view of my datasource I selected scaling factor 1,000.
The KPI Tile should display the value 300 000 as 300 T€.
Unfortunately this does not work when windows setting for format and region is set to German.
Design Studio seems not to be able to handle the german region setting correctly.
For a better understanding:
Point and comma as decimal separator are switched in German.
For example: 1 000 Euro and 50 Cent
English: 1,000.50 EUR
German: 1.000,50 EUR
The display of values with scaling factor in the initial view is different from the design view or browser execution.
In the initial view the display is correct (no difference for German or English Windows format settings):
The same dashboard with the same settings in the design view:
This is how it should look like in the browser (Windows set to English):
On a German Windows the dashboard looks like this:
Switching the Windows region settings to English is a workaround but not possible for every German customer as this has unwanted affects in many other cases.
Maybe someone has an idea to solve this issue?
Thanks
Steffen

Ok, I now figured out another solution/workaround.
I checked the code of the KPI_Tile component.
In kpitile.js the last lines deal with the format setting of the value.
There I switched the point and comma as you can see in screenshot below.
Now it seems to work, bur I think there should be a smarter solution as this is now fixed to the German setting, altough it should check and use the locale setting or am I wrong?
(Unfortunately I am no Javascript expert).
In Design Studio it looks like this:

  • United Kingdom Regional Format sets Monday as the first day of the week.

With the Region Settings (Settings -> General -> International -> Region Format) set to United Kingdom, Calendar displays Monday as the first day of the week. I have seen other posts whereby it was suggested to change to US Internationalization but this will also change the date and telephone number formats to US settings, far more frustrating.
Have I been sheltered from properly formatted calendars all my life or is this a mistake and it should start the week on Sunday. It is consistent in both the Week and Month view.
Am I crazy or does anyone else agree with is?

Same here. One of the first things I do in this sort of application is switch week start to Mondays.

  • A Problem with Region Format Settings

    Hi!
I have a peculiar problem with Region Format settings on my iPod touch (Settings > General > International > Region Format). It appears that iPod touch can support more region formats than it is stated on that list. Once I registered my iPod, I selected my location, Lithuania, and it automatically set (I think because of this action, and not another, like my PC settings) Region Format to Lithuanian. Although it is nonexistent on the menu list! Good news!
However, the problem is that while I explored my iPod I accidentally checked another region, and there is no "cancel" option. So my region switched to another. And now I am not able to switch it back to Lithuanian again because there is no such selection (reset or restore didn't help).
Has anybody any suggestions how could I return to my preferred region format (Lithuanian)? Thanks!

thats interesting. I think the ipod took those settings from your computer/mac.
anyway, shouldn't there be something near you that has the same region format settings? maybe you can just use something that's exactly the same.
and btw: some of the regions have arrows next to them which brings you to subregions of that region. maybe you should check that out?
otherwise ... well ... I think only a restore would bring back the original settings.

  • Formatting dates according to language defined in "Regional format" (not "Country/Region") setting

    Hi all,
How do I format a date/time value according to the language defined in Settings > Region > Regional format on Windows Phone 8.1 (WinRT)?

    Hi Gabriel,
Windows.Globalization.Language class provide the functionality to the regional format in windows phone, access it and create
a new cultureInfo object. Have a look at the following link for details.

Click on DU's Partition tab when you have the raw drive name selected, then set it to one partition, Mac OS Extended. If it crashes or freezes, it is finding a bad block and can't write.
In any event, if you want to use the drive, and have not zeroed it before, you should now.
Click on Erase -> Security Options -> Zero out data. Still with the full drive selected and not any partition(s).
Then repartition the drive if needed.
Boot from the DVD if that doesn't work. And no, TTPro has never mapped out bad blocks let alone create partitions.
Disk Utility in 10.4.8 is quite good, excellent in fact. No need for an alternative.
Your eMac drive may need to touch of Disk Utility itself. FSCK from the command line, clear the caches with Applejack along with check for corrupt plists. Between Disk Utilty and Applejack (free/shareware) never had to use TechTool Pro - or at least there weren't any errors after those two got done. But if you want a good 3rd party, pick up Disk Warrior 4.

  • Regional Format

Hi all, it's not a massive issue but one I'd like to fix if possible. I live in United Arab Emirates and use Awesome Note as calendar application on my iPad. ANote does not offer support to change first day of week to Sunday, it operates off the local set gregorian values in Region Format.
The problem is that if I set region to UAE the clock and calendar become arabic. No matter what language settings I use elsewhere I can not get this to change. If I set to UK then the calendar starts on a monday.
The only solution I've been able. To find so far is to set region to hong kong. This does first day as Sunday and maintains everything else in English. Not sure if this will have unforeseen effects elsewhere though.
If anyone can suggest anything I'd be grateful.

Tell Apple to add more flexibility to the iPad:

  • Calendar Region format error?

Until recently, my Calendar app week view started on Monday.  It now shows as Sunday with no apparent ability to change it.  My Region format is set to Australia, which should have resulted in the format being correct (it was until recently).  How do I change my preference to have the week view commence on a Monday once again?
    Thanks! :)

I realise that this is an older post but your problem is something that bugs me too!
The problem started with the iOS 5 upgrade where the International/Regional settings were changed making the calendar start date for Australis Sunday instead of Monday as it had been previously.
There is no way I have found to correct it apart from changing your international/region setting to something that has Monday as the start day, but this also afffects a number of other settings that you probably don't want changed.
I've been submitting constant feedbacks to Apple hoping that each new iOS update will fix this but no such luck.
I'll keep submitting them in the hope that one day they will listen and fix it... hopefully before I dump my iPhone and gowith another platform that does work.

Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the third-party developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, email the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

  • Change the default country code for new contacts in Outlook 2013 for countries not listed in Control Panel Region Format

    Dear all,
I would like to change the default country code for new Outlook 2013 contacts. My country is Mozambique (+258) and is not listed under Control Panel> Region> Formats> Format:
Is there any place (registry maybe, anywhere) where I can manipulate the existing formats or manually add a new format to the List ??? - for example Portuguese (Mozambique).
    I am using Windows 8.1
I have tried changing the country on the phone and modem options and nothing changes. Also changing the Home Location on Region> Location to Mozambique didn't change a thing. The only place where I change something and produces results is the
    Format List.
Any ideias???? If not, is there a place where I can ask Microsoft to include Portuguese (Mozambique) on future windows updates???
    Kind regards,
    Osvaldo

    Hi,
Windows uses the information set under
'Phone and Modem'  in the Control Panel to determine the default area code.
You can change the country/region to
    Mozambique
and set your area code here:

  • Translation Problem – Region Disappearing

    Translation Problem – Region Disappearing
I recently started working on translating my application to German. When I apply my xlif file I have a problem with the contents of all my report regions using Vertical Report Look 2 disappear.
The report region is still visible, however the report contents (corresponding to the report template) have completely disappeared.
When I switch back to English (setting FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERANCE) the report contents are once again visible.
    I am using theme 7.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Immanuel

    Hi Joel,
Dont worry about that last request, i have already fixed the problem.
If anyone else has this problem they can fix it by creating a custom report template with the following code:
    Report template Before Rows:
    <table summary="Vertical" class="t7vertical3" align="center" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
Include the following in your Theme.css (or theme_V2.csss in the case of theme 7):
    table.t7vertical3 {border:0px #bbbbbb solid;border-collapse:collapse;background:#ffffff;font-size:8pt;}
    table.t7vertical3 tr {border-top:1px;}
    table.t7vertical3 td.L{font-weight:bold;vertical-align:top;padding:2px;white-space:nowrap;width:30%;text-align:right;border:0px #bbbbbb solid;background:#999999;color:#ffffff;border:1px #bbbbbb solid;}
    table.t7vertical3 td{padding:2px;border:1px #bbbbbb solid;text-align:left;}
    Cheers,

  • Facing problem in formatting

    hi,
m having pavilion dv6 6186tx laptop, m facing problem in formatting my lappy i had ordered windows 7 cd ( the genuine OS which was allotted to my lappy by hp ) from HP, i received 3 cd's 2 of my OS and 1 for the drivers, when i start formatting my lappy with the cd's things were fine, first i inserted OS cd's one by one then it ask for the driver cd and i inserted it then the data from the cd's were copied on the disk and all the cd's were back with me then any window with a message appear on the screen saying "Recover preparation is completed & now the installation phase will begin "(snapshot of the message window is shown below) then my lappy restarted and the installation of the OS & the drivers begin, there were two progress bars on the software installation window the first or the above one must be for the individual software's and the second one must be for the over all progress. So now my installation begin every thing was going well until there comes a point where my system just got paused up, the progress stopped of both the progress bars and no further operations were caried out(snapshot os this situation is shown below) i.e my os is not installed, i tried to install my OS many times but the same problem was occurring again and again PLEASE SUGGEST SOME SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.....

i had also tried keeping my lappy in the same situation for 3-4 hrs but no change .
The reason for formatting was that my lappy was not shutting down properly i.e. even after shutting it down the led's of the wifi button, power button, light of the touch pad were on and finally I had to shut it down forcefully that means by pressing the power 4 few seconds.  I thought there might b some drivers issue so I should format my lappy one & set all the settings to its factory condition that y i thought of fromatting and this happened.
