Problem related to language translation in Smartforms using Text Module.

I have done translation of text module from English (enUS) to Spanish (esSP) using SE63. In text node I have used this translated text module. Language of the node is selected as sy-langu. So when I logged into System in English language I should be able to see the output in English but it giving output in Spnaish. While debugging sy-langu value is 'E'.

You have a text in english and you have maintained the translation in Spanish, mention the original text in the SmartForm. in this way when your login lang is EN you will see that text in Eng and if the lang is Spanish you will see the translation in the output.

Language Translation in Smartforms - SE63

Hi All. I have succesfully translated a smartform from English to Portugues, but as soon as i have done text changes to my smartform and activate it, and done the translation for the changes, the previous changes dissappers and revert to the first/original translation,,,do i need to do anything when adding text after. Let me explaine with an example:
Example: I have translated the word 'Date' the first time to 'Data'... everything fine. Now i change the word 'Date' to 'Date from' , so i ammend the translation, for 'Date from' to' Data ex'...evrything still fine. Now if i change anyhthing, except text,in my smartform(eg:Name of a window) and activate the smartform....the translation revert back to just 'Data'..the original translation.
Is there something i miss.

Hi,
This will happen when the translation is done through SE63. After activating the transaltion, if you make any change in the original form the translation will be reverted. The only solution to this problem is that open original form and SE63 simultaneously, make the change in the original form and activate both original form and SE63. Please ensure to keep opened the translation in SE63 before you make the change in the original one.

Problems with Multi-language Translation (OMLT/MLT1)

SAP B1 logon takes a lot of time when a user logs on to a database with many translations.
The logon time seems to increase exponentially with the number of records in the mlt tables.
For the moment we have translated only one field in 2 languages (ItemName of OITM)
- there are 20000 articles in the database, translated into 2 languages -> 40000 records in mlt1.
Our customer will have 50000 articles translated into 4 languages when he goes live.
Here are some logon times
logon time (in minutes) | records (OMLT/MLT1)
10:00 | 20000/40000
02:39 | 10000/20000
00:45 | 5000/10000
00:13 | 2000/4000
00:05 | 1000/2000
When using the sql profiler, the last statement just before the client seems to hang is:
SELECT T0.* FROM [dbo].[MLT1] T0 ORDER BY T0.TranEntry,T0.LangCode
Then, after the elapsed logon time, the next statement is
SELECT T0.* FROM [dbo].[CHEN] T0 ORDER BY T0.Component,T0.ID
So it seems that all the translations are read at logon time, and stored in a very inefficient way.
We have the same results when we connect to the database via the DI-API.
Does anyone know if there is a fix available (our current version: SBO 2005A SP:0 PL:06

I think the problem has been identified - should be possible to solve in short-term (no guarantee )...

The bug - which caused most of the trouble - had been fixed in 2006 - connection time has gone down to about 1/50!
However, the design (loading translations when logging on) has not been changed so far. Subsequently using a large number of translations may still cause connection times which may be considered "too long".

Problems with Hindi language translation into DW8

Hi,
I have a whole truck load of problems ...but two have so far
beat me!
I have a Hindi text translation in MS Word ( yes I know copy
and paste is
evil...but (I have no other option)
I have installed "Shusha" font, as advised by the translators
who created
the document. I have installed and applied the ( Win XP)
Hindi language bar
and keyboard.
I am using the DW 8, P7 Ennergi Pack.- 3 col, left menu

Because I do not read, write or even understand Hindi, I
simply over paste
the English with the Hindi version. In the "main body" centre
column I dont
have any real problems with this. BUT the P7 menu does not
like being messed
about!
If I overcopy text while in theP7 "modify" interface...the
Hindi become
gobbleDegook....when I close the box , right click and select
the text..then
apply the shusha font...its seems OK....but when I re-open
the "modify"
interface....all the links I converted...dont show. They are
there in the
code and show up on the page..some links work - most dont.
I have tried being a complete moron and simply pasting hindi
text over the
english in the normal page work mode.....useless!
I have completed an "Arabic" version without any of these
problems...well
they started as above but I resolved them....the Hindi just
wont have it!
If by chance there is a Hindi capable web guy or
guyess..with a bit of
spare time who can give me
some pointers...I will be more than grateful.

Language translation in smartforms

In SE63, I tried to convert one smartform "LE_SHP_DELNOTE" from DE language to EN. When I click on EDIT button, I am getting two split windows, one for source and other for target. But the problem is I am getting DE language in both the source and target windows. It is not getting converted to english. But, for all other languages, it is getting translated, except english.
I rememebr, first time when I open it was workiing fine. But not sure what went wrong now. If anybody having any idea, please help me...

Did you make any change in the original form(DE) and activated without activating the translation? If so, the translation done would have been reverted.

Loading Language translations for Catalogs using LSMW

I have hundreds of codes entered for a Catalog in English and I need to be able to load all the French translations for those codes. Doing a translation by hand is simple by just clicking on the Translation selection in the Menu. However, when I try to do that using LSMW recordings, it doesn't record a field that I can attach my source data to for the translation. So, basically, I can't get it to work. Is this even possible? Is there another way to load translations?

1. Data has been captured as per the template
2. Instead of capturing catalog codes in English, keep those details in the Required language (in your case, its French).
3. Save the Excel file as Unicode Text instead of Tab delimited or other recommended formats.
4. Login into SAP as normal. Nothing specifically required from SAP side.
5. Do the normal LSMW technique to upload the data.

I seem to have multiple problems related or unrelated. I cannot use Apple Mail for blueyonder and mostly for gmail as both show that the server is off line. My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with pop up windows on nearly every command

Firstly I am unable to use Apple mail except for hotmail, for blueyonder, gmail or Sky as the server shows as (off line) and I have no idea how to get them on line even though I tell them to go there.
My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with advertising windows virtually on ever command I make, one seems to be impossible to unsubscribe from.
When I am in an email with a web link the web link doesn't work and I get a window saying that I must have a pop up blocker, but if I switch it off it is no different, what does work is switching the "enable Java script off", then when I get to the web site I can't use it until I switch the java script back on.
I can't do a screen shot either full or partial, when I try it changes the web site that is on screen to another.
So what have I done that might have caused problems, downloading Yosemite seemed to be the start of the problems. Since then I have started to install Mackeeper, after checking with a family members who should know, that MacPaw is safe. I decided that I didn't want to pay the subscription, so went through the uninstall instructions but it comes up as a pop up with considerable regularity.
My stress levels have gone through the roof with pop ups happening so regularly and not being able to use Apple mail.o can anyone help please?

Text modules
Text modules are used to centrally store texts that are used frequently in forms in the system.
Text modules are included in forms using texts nodes. The text node can either refer to the text module or take its text. You can then change the text or add to it to suit the form.
Text modules have the following attributes:
They are client-independent
They are connected to the transport system
They are connected to the translation tools in the system
The third attribute means that a text module can be uniquely assigned to a language using the logon language. When including a text module, you can also access translations of the text module, for example, to include an English text module in a German form.

No, mine is definitely a language translator. I use it all the time. The unit converter is called "Unit Converter". I don't know why your system is different.

Do u want to print Standard Text or the Texts that are maintained at the Transaction level.
If it is standard text , then u use text id as ST or if it is Texts that are maintained at the Transaction level then u have to go to that specific transaction and check for that text , then go to text editor ,in the goto menu u have header data where u get the Text id , text name.... , use them in ur smartform in the INCLUDE text.
Further u have the option of text modules in smartforms which act as standard texts, so if u r going for creation of standard texts then its better to use text modules.

Smart form Text module translation and Standard text

Hi i have a requirement in smartforms in which i need to create text modules and transtale into diffrent languages.
I have created text modules they are in my transport,
when i am translating through SE63 into target language it is not asking for any transport request , Can any one help me regarding how i can assign Transaltion thing to my transport.
Another thing is i require to use standard text, i am not much aware of it also as per my understanding i need to create it through SO10 Transaction , and i can use it in include text please correct me if i am wrong, i need this standart text also in two language but while creating standard text it is not asking transport request, and how i would convert standard text in diff lang and how can i assign to my transport.
Surely i would provide points for the valid reply.

To transport Standard text, use the standard Report Program RSTXTRAN, execute it, on the selection screen, enter your standard text name as
Text key - name, press F8, it will display a ouput list. Now press F5 key and it will ask for transport request number.

Text from text module is not appearing in smartform output

Hi Experts,
We are using text modules in one of our smartform to print the sender text . The name of this text module is being dynamically determined during the execution and is coming correctly but still the the text inside the text module is not appearing in the output. We checked one more similar form which is working on the similar logic but calling a different text module , there it is working perfectly. I have tried all the possibilties like changing the window size, changing the fonts and other parameters of the text module but still its not appearing . This seems to be something unusual as in both the smartforms(one with text appearing from module and one without the text) the logic is exactly similar for getting the text module name. The name is getting determined in both the cases correctly and the text modules are also maintained in same manner for both these forms but text is appearing on one and not on other.
Kindly help if any one of you have also faced similar issue.

There could be various reasons....
Wrong language for example
An easy way to prove this is, put the text direct into the smartforms and see, if it pops up immediately.
If so, you have to really debug this spot and see if the pased name is correct. (Copy paste it in the debugger, to be really sure, there could be a space in fornt or in the end...)
If that doesn't help, you have to share more details. Your question is not that very specific. You know

You canr use text modules in script. You have to use standard texts .
Standard text are maintained in SO10 transaction.
you can create translation text for other languages also . So based on logon language it will print translation text.
go to SO10
give textname it say Ztextname id as ST and language as EN
say create, then you will get editor there maintain your text and save it . then come back . Now change language (say for german DE) say create and eneter translation text and save it.
so now you have created a text called ztextname which you can use in your script.
Inorder to insert the texts in your script do as below
go to any window editor and select path
Insert->texts->symbols->standard symbols
then you will get popup in which you have to mention all the parameters that you have created earlier.
after inserting just change language EN to sy-langu

Variable field in Text module which is used in Adobe forms

Hi All,
I want to use text module in my Adobe form to display text .
Problem is that i want to insert a variable dynamically in text module i.e.
My text is:
For example : "In the period from &EMPLOYEE_DETAIL-PERIOD& you have not paid your tax:"
Now EMPLOYEE_DETAIL is a structure in context of form with period as field .
I want that data stored in this field should come in adobe,right now instead of data this text &EMPLOYEE_DETAIL-PERIOD& comes i.e. this is considered as text
I tried this with SO10 by clicking on the "add" icon, i am getting a pop up screen with the following option. can you please help me which option to select and how to define the variable?

4. Comment,
5. SAP Characters
6. Link
